The G20 is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 major economies that was established in 1999 to discuss key issues in the global economy. The G20 countries collectively represent around 85% of the world's GDP and two-thirds of its population. The main purposes of the G20 are to coordinate macroeconomic policy among member nations and to reform international financial systems in order to stimulate global economic growth and recovery. The group has become the premier forum for international economic cooperation.
