This document outlines a research project exploring how a university in Bangladesh is becoming digitalized. The project will investigate novel ways that students can learn through information and communication technologies (ICT), as well as novel ways of administering the university digitally. In 2011, workshops and interviews will generate ideas, while 2012 will focus on supporting identified ideas. The scope depends on funding, but resources include time from Aalborg University and the University of Dhaka as well as pending applications. The goal is to understand how digitalization policies impact higher education in Bangladesh and identify best practices.

Techniques for digital creation and innovationJisc
Speaker: Andy McGregor, deputy chief innovation officer, Jisc.
As part of Jisc's R&D work we use a wide range of techniques to help us understand problems and opportunities, imagine solutions and then create them. We have collected these techniques into a playbook that anyone can use to answer questions and create new ideas. This workshop will introduce the playbook by presenting delegates with a digital skills problem and challenging them to use the playbook to plan how they would solve the problem. Every delegate will receive a copy of the playbook to take away and use.

Producing Instructional Videos Through Collaborative-Action Research for Peop...Ann Davidson
This paper discusses a collaborative action research we conducted with a group of four interveners and five young adults with an intellectual disability, who were taking part in a government service provider program. The research aimed at developing abilities to become autonomous using video. A group of five young adults with intellectual disabilities used instructional videos on iPods for a duration of ten weeks, to try to develop the abilities needed for autonomous living such as cooking, using a stove, using a washing machine and keeping oneself safe. We will present the results from a questionnaire we designed specifically for the project, which had the sole purpose of identifying the needs of participants in terms of social integration abilities, along with the iterative process of the video production and validation. In addition this paper will provide reflections about the experience to identify directions for future research.

The technologies whose study properly forms a part of ICT education develop at an exponential rate, with Moore’s law promising a doubling of computing capacity every couple of years, and global industries and innovative individuals continually finding new applications to use such capacity. The extent to which your school makes use of such innovation is, to some degree, in your hands.
After hearing your presentations, we’ll look at some of the issues raised by the rapid pace of technological change and explore some ways in which schools can best make discerning use of new technology. I also explore some current trends and we look at some technologies that may well find a place in the classroom of the not too distant future, or whatever may replace it.
We conclude with a review of the assessment requirements and an opportunity to reflect on the module.
Capacity building for 21st century learning in secondary schools in AfricaPetra Fisser
This symposium brings together researchers who are evaluating ICT-integration in developing countries. The variety of the studies addresses many of the current issues related to the processes of and capacity building for ICT-integration. The contributors to the symposium will be invited to focus on the consequences of their study with respect to professional development and policy making. This relation fits into the conference theme “Excellence of teachers? Practice, policy, research”. The discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities inherent in understanding how to prepare schools in developing countries for capacity building in the field of educational ICT use.

This discussion paper provided the framework for our Board's movement to a 21st Century Learning and Teaching environment. This is an updated review of the Board's progress as we continue to transition our Board. The original document was created in 2010 and the review took place in Dec. 2011.
In this modern, age of society where everyone requires individual attention to his/her self in order to gain far more than publicly gather information. Internet becomes the part of life in these circumstances when technology is much more active than any other source of communication. People need to have all information regarding their field of interest at one place stop and this could only be possible because of internet. According to a research, students engage with a lot more new information's from various sources. Particularly, students are more independent in electronic based courses than traditional way of learning courses. Although the virtual source of teaching courses are not so effective because of student unable to pay attention being as in practical classrooms but students are still progressive.
This paper is depending on the effectiveness of e-learning system in the field of education. E-learning can be perceived as a computer-learning program in which students can be taught over computer. However, today the concept of e-learning has been totally changed, it is the collection of technological sources to provide the information you required within a very short period of time. What is good e-learning process? The components and the future perspective of the e-learning program will covered in this paper.
The report will covers case studies of mobile technology pilots over two sessions in 2012 in a learning and teaching context. It will discusses the results of the surveys undertaken as part of the Project, to highlight the successes and failures of these pilots. The report also outlines the work done, and the results so far, in the development of a mobile solution for CSU Subject Outlines and learning resources.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. ePolicy In Practice
- How is a University in Bangladesh Becoming Digital?
- By Dr. Pär-Ola Zander
- Department Of Communication and Psychology
Aalborg University, Denmark
2. Background for ePolicyInPractice
— May 2011, Aalborg University & signed a MoU with
University of Dhaka
— This project is deepening this partnership further
— I will present an overview of what we plan to do
3. Research Idea - Domain
— A lot of efforts are put into Digital Bangladesh,
vision 2021
— Implementation
— Evaluation
— Yet no one knows the effects of Digital Bangladesh
on the institutional level in higher education
— Therein lies our contribution
— Broad approach: Neither research on hardware, nor
software, nor humans, but their interaction
4. ePolicyInPractice
— Discover and document
novel ways for students
to learn through ICT
Developed University
— Discover novel ways of
administrating
university through ICT
An exploration of the mechanisms of digitalization
- How is the policy ‘felt’?
- What can be generalized to other universities?
5. e-Didactics and PBL
— Teacher and student-driven innovation (user-driven
innovation)
— How?
— Course design workshops and needs analysis
— Explore “post-lecture” approaches in Bangladesh
— Infuse well-tried “western” practices to these lead
users
— Not “best practice”, but “best inspiration”
6. E-Infrastructure
— Infrastructure
— Communications
— Case processing (Booking resources, promotion,
travel expenses…)
— Computerization of infrastructure is possible!
— Strictly technically. No problem.
— Challenge: Change mindsets, find smart workflows
8. Researching Infrastructure
— Why?
— Teaching is not independent from its infrastructure
— Signal? How are teachers’ motivations to adopt ICT
affected by the state of administration?
— Agility: Changes in curriculum, teaching forms
— The interesting question is not if this must change
— What happens when it is changed?
— Systematize local knowledge
— Investigate by participatory scenario creation and
need analysis
9. Future
— 2011, The forthcoming days:
— Workshops, interviews, observations
— Generating motivation
— 2012: Workshops on how the identified ideas can be supported and realized
— Scope of project depends on financial situation
— Money currently bottleneck.
Resources
— AAU resources (time)
— DU resources (time & facilities)
— Pending funding applications (DFID, DANIDA, EU)
