E-Learning in Modern Education System
Abstract
In this modern, age of society where everyone requires individual attention to his/her self in
order to gain far more than publicly gather information. Internet becomes the part of life in
these circumstances when technology is much more active than any other source of
communication. People need to have all information regarding their field of interest at one
place stop and this could only be possible because of internet. According to a research, students
engage with a lot more new information's from various sources. Particularly, students are more
independent in electronic based courses than traditional way of learning courses. Although the
virtual source of teaching courses are not so effective because of student unable to pay
attention being as in practical classrooms but students are still progressive.
This paper is depending on the effectiveness of e-learning system in the field of education. E-
learning can be perceived as a computer-learning program in which students can be taught over
computer. However, today the concept of e-learning has been totally changed, it is the
collection of technological sources to provide the information you required within a very short
period of time. What is good e-learning process? The components and the future perspective of
the e-learning program will covered in this paper.
Key words: e-learning, component of e-learning, effectiveness of program, education system.
Introduction
In the view of Marcus (2008), E-learning defined as to engage electronically delivered content,
network service and tutorial based programs, which help students to understand and motivate.
Weather from a place of distance or face to face, computer equipped labs. E-learning shifted
the traditional classroom to ICT based classroom which is flexible, self-organized, the privacy
provided, security and independence along with entertaining GUI (graphical user interface).
With this, systems students may collaborate with teachers, consultants, tutors, experts etc
(OLOJO, 2012, pp.203-210).
OLOJO, (2012) argues that E-learning is the use of digital media to enhance the information,
performance, standardization of your personality. According to them technology often provides
the learner control over the learning process, content, sources, individuals to communicate,
media, and time. This technology allows users to identify and achieve the personal goals and
objectives with certain expertise.
E-learning refers to the use of technology and resources which will provide the broad array of
solutions to the most complex problems. It observes throughout the world, students from
many fields are taking benefits from technology especially in the field of e-learning
environment. E-learning is also known as online learning, collaborative learning, web based
learning, computer based learning process and sometimes people use the word internet for this
discipline.
OLOJO, (2012) points out that E-learning considered being of two classifications, one is distance
learning, and other is a computer-assisted program. They further add that Distance learning is a
program to deliver the information at a remote area location whereas the learner sitting
outside the range boundaries of central locations. On the other hand, computer assisted
program refers to the multimedia delivering programs in which learners can be entertained
with multiple media with audio-video visuals and attracting graphical user interface motivates
and attracts them to study.
What is Good E-learning?
MARIN,(2012) describes the most appropriate medium to the E-learning system, which is a digital
version of resources in a form required by the learner in a collaborative environment. In order
to measure the success factors, key factors in implementation of an E - learning system are
transferable content, skills, knowledge, competencies, and beneficial implication.
She further added that Education has no boundary. It delivers across the border without
concerns of physical, political, and social environment of the country. E-learning don't require
the learner presence in the class, learner can access the information on the current lectures any
time and from anywhere with the help of internet in their control.
MARIN, (2012) points out some key advantages of E-learning process:
- Cost effective medium
- Huge amount of information are available on different sources.
- It saves the time required to access for one information.
- It has resume capability, like you left one day at particular chapter this will remember by
the computer and next time you entered the class and the class begins from the point
you left yesterday.
- Location of the learner does not matter in any case of delivering lectures.
E-learning Components
As it is mentioned above that E-learning is a collaborative and distributed source of
communication program, which enable you to access the required information. Therefore, it
has to integrate all the necessary tools in order to provide valuable data to the learner. The key
components of the model has been suggested by OLOJO, (2012) are:
- Content
- Manage the content
- Delivering
- Standardization
It is discussed previously that it helps autodidacts, assess and enhance the performance. These
three pillars based on the quality content, once content has been gather; now it is hard to
manage these contents according to the priorities to the learners. After managing the content
the teacher, need to rectify the delivery and standardize sets of resources in order to provide
the best and effective use of the tools.
Modes of Delivering Content
OLOJO, (2012) suggests that there are two modes of content delivery:
- Synchronous mode
- Asynchronous mode
In explaining these modes, they argue that Synchronous mode refers to the real time mode; in
this mode, the instructor is leading the learning environment in a real time mode. E.g., Live
Facebook chatting, Skype audio, video calls, teleconference (more than two people are talking
about the conference). In synchronous mode information, receive information from all
participants simultaneously. In contrary to synchronous we have another mode that is
asynchronous which is consider to be a virtual time experience in which the data is not
delivered simultaneously to all members instead people communicate through emails, blogs,
Facebook feeds etc.
E-learning Effectiveness in Education system
SAKARKAR, (2012) describes the value and competencies of the E-learning system. He argued
that higher education commission, government authorities, military forces, and consultant
agencies had done many studies. Even though there is a lot of variation in the result of each of
an alternate research, it is because the method of evaluation had been different for different
department and the tool they are using were not an adequate to the proposed methods.
OLOJO, (2012) further explains other research studies done by different field of expert in which
two main studies are remarkable input to identify the effectiveness of E-learning education
system. These studies has been taken from different states and from different cultures that
compare the computer assessment class with the traditional classroom environment, these
studies were clearly conclude that E-learning systems are more effective and efficient than
traditional classrooms. This is because a group of learner will provide individual attention with
multiple source of communication along with digital multimedia tools. Other studies support
blended learning systems as well.
Future Perspective on E-learning
Ontology based modeling in E-learning systems
The intelligent networks and tools are captivating more and more charge of the market today;
all intelligent networks are base on ontological systems. MUKTA, (2012) suggests mainly two
approaches to use ontological tools in practical models.
1. Based on historical data
2. Based on behavioral data
These two models elaborate with an example in this paper, which will further clear the point of
discussion. An example of classroom; the student performs different tasks and operations daily,
which required by him to complete his/her assignment. Now the computer will then remember
your all activities that you have been doing on your computer on a daily basis and finally
computer come up with some historical data regarding your activities. Based on these data
computers than predict your future move and suggest you with certain links to perform your
task.
The second approach is behavioral approach. In this approach computer will evaluate your
behavior with your attitude towards task completion and predict any future moves regarding
your concentration and intellectual abilities. This approach will memorize your preference and
on these preference computers take a decision.
Ontological model work same as the human brain is working and perform its operation
accordingly. It reads your mind interpret your thought and apply your decision and power of
your work. It although currently installed with some technology and give the best result in that
field. Many researchers work on it and provide their practical models, as one of the models
provided by Mukta (2012) from India. The model with name "Ontology based user Knowledge
requirement acquisition of behaviors in E-learning" it works on detection content automatically
and proven to be the best result of the findings.
How to Make E-learning more valuable
Mukta, (2012) points out following factors, which will help to improve E-learning system more
effectively:
- Accessibility of hardware for more specific computer and for specific task.
- The faster connection of the internet will help solve problems that are more complex.
- Need to improve software, as they are not user friendly still.
- In underdeveloped countries where the electricity problem restricts the use of models
will require adequate electricity consumption.
- Content is the big issue these days as most of the learner could not find out appropriate
content in the required language.
- There are the areas where need of awareness could be required in order to increase the
number of learners in a model.
- Training for teachers, students, consultants, agencies will help to provide technical
information in a more effective manner.
SIDDIQUI, (2012) suggests the model architecture for the E-learning system. Main aim of the research
work was to give more power to the student and give them control, knowledge and performance.
Architecture basically based on mobile & internet technology that requires the dedicated sattellite
antennawhich insure the communication process between the learner and the instructor. This model
architecture helps student to communicaate with teachers, tutors, experts and cunsultant all over the
world in the field of interest.
Conclusion
There are some issues regarding CBTs, which did not cover in this paper. Problem regarding
content, technical staff, complex equipments, adequate resources are hurdles in the success
ladder for E-learning systems. Despite of all that E-learning systems are widely used globally
and instructor and learners are taking great advantages with the help of this technology. There
are several universities in the world, which are delivering education lectures on CBT.

E Learning In Modern Education System .

  • 1. E-Learning in Modern Education System Abstract In this modern, age of society where everyone requires individual attention to his/her self in order to gain far more than publicly gather information. Internet becomes the part of life in these circumstances when technology is much more active than any other source of communication. People need to have all information regarding their field of interest at one place stop and this could only be possible because of internet. According to a research, students engage with a lot more new information's from various sources. Particularly, students are more independent in electronic based courses than traditional way of learning courses. Although the virtual source of teaching courses are not so effective because of student unable to pay attention being as in practical classrooms but students are still progressive. This paper is depending on the effectiveness of e-learning system in the field of education. E- learning can be perceived as a computer-learning program in which students can be taught over computer. However, today the concept of e-learning has been totally changed, it is the collection of technological sources to provide the information you required within a very short period of time. What is good e-learning process? The components and the future perspective of the e-learning program will covered in this paper. Key words: e-learning, component of e-learning, effectiveness of program, education system.
  • 2. Introduction In the view of Marcus (2008), E-learning defined as to engage electronically delivered content, network service and tutorial based programs, which help students to understand and motivate. Weather from a place of distance or face to face, computer equipped labs. E-learning shifted the traditional classroom to ICT based classroom which is flexible, self-organized, the privacy provided, security and independence along with entertaining GUI (graphical user interface). With this, systems students may collaborate with teachers, consultants, tutors, experts etc (OLOJO, 2012, pp.203-210). OLOJO, (2012) argues that E-learning is the use of digital media to enhance the information, performance, standardization of your personality. According to them technology often provides the learner control over the learning process, content, sources, individuals to communicate, media, and time. This technology allows users to identify and achieve the personal goals and objectives with certain expertise. E-learning refers to the use of technology and resources which will provide the broad array of solutions to the most complex problems. It observes throughout the world, students from many fields are taking benefits from technology especially in the field of e-learning environment. E-learning is also known as online learning, collaborative learning, web based learning, computer based learning process and sometimes people use the word internet for this discipline. OLOJO, (2012) points out that E-learning considered being of two classifications, one is distance learning, and other is a computer-assisted program. They further add that Distance learning is a
  • 3. program to deliver the information at a remote area location whereas the learner sitting outside the range boundaries of central locations. On the other hand, computer assisted program refers to the multimedia delivering programs in which learners can be entertained with multiple media with audio-video visuals and attracting graphical user interface motivates and attracts them to study. What is Good E-learning? MARIN,(2012) describes the most appropriate medium to the E-learning system, which is a digital version of resources in a form required by the learner in a collaborative environment. In order to measure the success factors, key factors in implementation of an E - learning system are transferable content, skills, knowledge, competencies, and beneficial implication. She further added that Education has no boundary. It delivers across the border without concerns of physical, political, and social environment of the country. E-learning don't require the learner presence in the class, learner can access the information on the current lectures any time and from anywhere with the help of internet in their control. MARIN, (2012) points out some key advantages of E-learning process: - Cost effective medium - Huge amount of information are available on different sources. - It saves the time required to access for one information.
  • 4. - It has resume capability, like you left one day at particular chapter this will remember by the computer and next time you entered the class and the class begins from the point you left yesterday. - Location of the learner does not matter in any case of delivering lectures. E-learning Components As it is mentioned above that E-learning is a collaborative and distributed source of communication program, which enable you to access the required information. Therefore, it has to integrate all the necessary tools in order to provide valuable data to the learner. The key components of the model has been suggested by OLOJO, (2012) are: - Content - Manage the content - Delivering - Standardization It is discussed previously that it helps autodidacts, assess and enhance the performance. These three pillars based on the quality content, once content has been gather; now it is hard to manage these contents according to the priorities to the learners. After managing the content the teacher, need to rectify the delivery and standardize sets of resources in order to provide the best and effective use of the tools. Modes of Delivering Content OLOJO, (2012) suggests that there are two modes of content delivery:
  • 5. - Synchronous mode - Asynchronous mode In explaining these modes, they argue that Synchronous mode refers to the real time mode; in this mode, the instructor is leading the learning environment in a real time mode. E.g., Live Facebook chatting, Skype audio, video calls, teleconference (more than two people are talking about the conference). In synchronous mode information, receive information from all participants simultaneously. In contrary to synchronous we have another mode that is asynchronous which is consider to be a virtual time experience in which the data is not delivered simultaneously to all members instead people communicate through emails, blogs, Facebook feeds etc. E-learning Effectiveness in Education system SAKARKAR, (2012) describes the value and competencies of the E-learning system. He argued that higher education commission, government authorities, military forces, and consultant agencies had done many studies. Even though there is a lot of variation in the result of each of an alternate research, it is because the method of evaluation had been different for different department and the tool they are using were not an adequate to the proposed methods. OLOJO, (2012) further explains other research studies done by different field of expert in which two main studies are remarkable input to identify the effectiveness of E-learning education system. These studies has been taken from different states and from different cultures that compare the computer assessment class with the traditional classroom environment, these studies were clearly conclude that E-learning systems are more effective and efficient than
  • 6. traditional classrooms. This is because a group of learner will provide individual attention with multiple source of communication along with digital multimedia tools. Other studies support blended learning systems as well. Future Perspective on E-learning Ontology based modeling in E-learning systems The intelligent networks and tools are captivating more and more charge of the market today; all intelligent networks are base on ontological systems. MUKTA, (2012) suggests mainly two approaches to use ontological tools in practical models. 1. Based on historical data 2. Based on behavioral data These two models elaborate with an example in this paper, which will further clear the point of discussion. An example of classroom; the student performs different tasks and operations daily, which required by him to complete his/her assignment. Now the computer will then remember your all activities that you have been doing on your computer on a daily basis and finally computer come up with some historical data regarding your activities. Based on these data computers than predict your future move and suggest you with certain links to perform your task. The second approach is behavioral approach. In this approach computer will evaluate your behavior with your attitude towards task completion and predict any future moves regarding
  • 7. your concentration and intellectual abilities. This approach will memorize your preference and on these preference computers take a decision. Ontological model work same as the human brain is working and perform its operation accordingly. It reads your mind interpret your thought and apply your decision and power of your work. It although currently installed with some technology and give the best result in that field. Many researchers work on it and provide their practical models, as one of the models provided by Mukta (2012) from India. The model with name "Ontology based user Knowledge requirement acquisition of behaviors in E-learning" it works on detection content automatically and proven to be the best result of the findings. How to Make E-learning more valuable Mukta, (2012) points out following factors, which will help to improve E-learning system more effectively: - Accessibility of hardware for more specific computer and for specific task. - The faster connection of the internet will help solve problems that are more complex. - Need to improve software, as they are not user friendly still. - In underdeveloped countries where the electricity problem restricts the use of models will require adequate electricity consumption. - Content is the big issue these days as most of the learner could not find out appropriate content in the required language. - There are the areas where need of awareness could be required in order to increase the number of learners in a model.
  • 8. - Training for teachers, students, consultants, agencies will help to provide technical information in a more effective manner. SIDDIQUI, (2012) suggests the model architecture for the E-learning system. Main aim of the research work was to give more power to the student and give them control, knowledge and performance. Architecture basically based on mobile & internet technology that requires the dedicated sattellite antennawhich insure the communication process between the learner and the instructor. This model architecture helps student to communicaate with teachers, tutors, experts and cunsultant all over the world in the field of interest. Conclusion There are some issues regarding CBTs, which did not cover in this paper. Problem regarding content, technical staff, complex equipments, adequate resources are hurdles in the success ladder for E-learning systems. Despite of all that E-learning systems are widely used globally and instructor and learners are taking great advantages with the help of this technology. There are several universities in the world, which are delivering education lectures on CBT.
