This study presents a new, easy-to-use scoring system to predict mortality in patients with perforated peptic ulcer using only three parameters: age >65 years, albumin ≤1.5 g/dL, and BUN >45 mg/dL. An analysis of 227 patients revealed a hospital mortality rate of 10.1%, with the new scoring system demonstrating high predictive validity (AUC = 0.931). Further validation of this scoring system is recommended through larger multicenter studies.
