Principles of the dressing
• Bandage should only be applied after application
of dressing gauze
• Bandage should be applied firmly and secured
• It should not be too tight to stop circulation
• It should not be applied so loose as to allow
dressing to slip
• When a roller bandage is applied, hold with the
right hand so the loose end is on the bottom
• Bandages are mostly made of gauze and or muslin

anatomy

• Bring the bandage under the scrotum
The procedure cont…
• Continue winding in an upward direction
• Attaching it to the circular winding around the hip
laterally at both sides
• Continue winding to cover all exposed area of the
scrotal dressing. Molding the material to conform
• If using a continuous process, make a cross shape
cut on the bandage to accommodate the penis
before winding the crape.
• And trim the bandage as needed towards the
base of the penis
