Dream House Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Dream House" can be both a captivating and challenging
endeavor. On one hand, the subject offers a vast canvas for imagination, allowing you to delve
into the realms of personal preferences, architectural wonders, and idyllic settings. On the other
hand, the sheer breadth of possibilities might make it challenging to narrow down your focus
and present a cohesive narrative.
To begin with, you'll need to navigate through the intricate details of what constitutes your
dream house. This involves considering not only the physical aspects like the design, location,
and amenities but also the intangible elements such as the emotions and memories you hope to
create within its walls. The challenge lies in striking a balance between vividly describing your
ideal living space and maintaining a sense of coherence throughout the essay.
Furthermore, conveying your passion and enthusiasm for your dream house is crucial to engage
your readers. It requires the art of language to paint a picture that goes beyond the physical
structure, invoking emotions and aspirations. Balancing creativity with practicality becomes a
tightrope walk as you strive to make your dream house not just a figment of imagination but a
tangible, relatable concept.
As with any essay, research becomes a key component. While it may seem counterintuitive for a
personal and imaginative topic like a dream house, grounding your ideas in reality adds depth
and authenticity. This may involve exploring architectural styles, learning about sustainable
building practices, or understanding the cultural and historical influences that could shape your
dream house.
In conclusion, the difficulty in writing a "Dream House Essay" arises from the need to
seamlessly blend creativity with coherence, passion with practicality. It's about crafting a
narrative that not only showcases your vivid imagination but also resonates with readers on a
deeper level. Successfully navigating through these challenges, however, can result in a
compelling essay that goes beyond the surface of bricks and mortar, offering a glimpse into the
very essence of your aspirations and desires.

Estimating Exchange Rate Volatility with GARCH Models

1 Introduction
?The increased importance being attached to exchange rates is a result of the
globalisation of modern business, the continuing growth in world trade relative to
national economies, the trend towards economic integration and the rapid pace of
change in the technology of money transfer.? (Copeland, Laurence S. 2014). In 21th
July 2005, Chinese authority announced that the exchange rate system changed, from
the dollar peg to the floating basket peg system. Recently, since the volatility in the
forex market is growing, which makes there is increase concern about forecasting of
exchange rate movements. (Schnabl, 2008).
It is well known that currencies exchange rates is difficult to forecast accurately.
There are a lot of models can be used to get relatively accurate estimating result of
volatility. Using those models to research currency exchange rate volatility is
necessary. A timely and accurate exchange rate estimating can provide valuable
information in various fields, such as, economy, finance and polity, which is helpful
to get more effective portfolio allocation, better foreign exchange rate investment
result, more accurate assets pricing and more efficient politics administration.
In international finance filed, there are many studies focus on modelling the

Savage Reservation In Brave New World
Both Brave New World and The Dispossessed have different takes on utopia, a
place or state of ideal perfection and excellence. However, the savage reservation
in Brave New World has a lack of government, which allows for the people there to
freely decide how they would wish to live, unlike the World State or Anarres in The
Dispossessed. The World State and Anarres have controlling governments that
monitors all ideas to decide if they are considered dangerous to the society and
regulates the opinions of the people. The savage reservation in Aldous Huxleys Brave
New Worldis more utopian than both the modern World State and Ursula Le Guin s
communist planet of Anarres from The Dispossessed because it maximizes freedom
while minimizing the power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People at the savage reservation are less controlled because their culture and society
is less structured due to its small size. The general leader has less to worry about
when leading a small group rather than a large population in terms of riots, wars, and
revolutions, therefore major control is unnecessary. In the World State however, the
population is immense because of their method of creating babies in test tubes. To
sustain peace, happiness, and the feeling of utopia, the government uses its control to
give everyone in the same class the same opinion. This is done through
conditioning, which includes forcing babies to associate electric shocks to certain
items and hypnopædia. In the beginning of the book, the Director says The child s
mind is these suggestions, and the sum of the suggestions is the child s mind... but
all these suggestions are our suggestions! (Huxley 29) when describing why
hypnopædia is used on the children as they grow up. This quote shows how the
government s opinions are forced into the entire population s head as they grow up
and that they are proud to be controlling their minds. This method may prevent
wars over different beliefs and make everyone satisfied that they are in their
assigned social class, but it also takes away individuality and freedom. Anarres is
also heavily populated, so the Odonians are taught to believe that the people on
Urras are corrupt and evil to keep them from wanting to leave Anarres or make
contact with Urras. The extent of this belief is seen when Shevek explains why he
might not return from Urras by stating, Anybody outside Defense could make
explosives with blasting powder and blow up the ship on the ground. Or, more
likely, attack me once I was outside the ship. (Le Guin 378). The people of Anarres
think that Urras is so malicious that a fellow Odonian would not be
Essay on Character Analysis of Jake Barnes
The pivotal character of Ernest Hemingway s novel, The Sun Also Rises is Jake
Barnes. He is a man of complex personality compelling, powerful, restrained, bitter,
pathetic, extraordinarily ordinary yet totally human. His character swings from
one end of the psychological spectrum to the other end. He has complex
personality, a World War I veteran turned writer, living in Paris. To the world, he is
the epitome of self control but breaks down easily when alone, plagued by self
doubt and fears of inadequacy. He is at home in the company of friends in the
society where he belongs, but he sees himself as someone from the outside looking

He demonstrates his propensity for extreme cruelty. Although he is a part of the
generation, ironically he is different from the rest of them. He realizes the uselessness
of the Lost Generation s way of life. He tells his friend Robert Cohn, You can t get
away from yourself my moving from one place to another. (19) Jake doesn t think
highly of Cohn, but he puts up with him anyway. Interestingly, Cohn is also attracted
to Brett and this fuels Jake s already heightened feelings of inadequacy; thus Jake
takes a condescending attitude toward Cohn. Jake describes Cohn as weak and
inexperienced, timid and easily intimidated by a strong woman (Frances). This
condescending attitude toward Cohn is nothing but the reflection of Hake s very own
insecurities about his manhood.
Jake is not a wealthy man; however, his ego gets the better of him. Time and again,
he keeps a tight check of his bank account balance. But when Brett starts hanging
out with Count Mippipopolous, Jake is not averse to offering up his money when
they all go out together. Money takes a back seat to Jake s ego. Once, Brett sends
the Count out for champagne so that she could be alone with Jake. Whereupon she
talks to him about her fianc #233;, Michael and this shoots down Jake s already
bruised ego to its lowest. However, For Jake, just to be with Brett is pure happiness.
He is so blinded with love for her that he doesn t even flinch when she does
Defining Nosql Database And Its Classification Essay
Introduction
The rapid growth in the world of technology has influenced the way we
communicate, shop, learn, and share information. The development of technology
led database analysts and administrators to find more convenient ways to store the
big amount of data. Big data is known as expression in the tech world. It is defined
as a huge collection of data that cannot be managed by relational databases
(Moniruzzaman and Hossain 1). So, developers start to use non relational
databases (NoSQL) to arrange and store the Big data. In order to understand how
developers solve the storing issue of the big amount of data and provide systems
that can sync data between multiple devices, we need to start with a brief
background of NoSQL databases to understand Couchbase system. The purpose of
this paper is to define NoSQL database, compare it with SQL database, define
Couchbase and describe how Couchbase is synchronizing data between multiple
devices, especially Couchbase Mobile.
The outline of this paper consists of the following sections. Section 1 introduces
NoSQL database and its classifications. Section 2 gives a brief comparison between
NoSQL database and SQL database. Section 3 explains document oriented databases.
Section 4 defines Couchbase. Section 5 describes Couchbase Mobile and provides an
example of its use in synchronizing data between multiple mobile devices.
Definition of NoSQL Databases
NoSQL databases are defined as non relational data management systems that is
Difference Between America s Best And Worst Claims
America s Best and Worst Claims
Between the years of 1845 and 1848 America was on a mission to expand farther
west. This was mission was not something that was completed over night, but
instead too many years to reach the goal. There were multiple disagreements and
even some wars erected from this operation. In this paper I am going to discuss the
how the Oregon Territory was one of the best claims we have owned and how the
California and Texas Territory was one of the worst claims we have owned.
The Oregon territory was originally occupied for many years by the Native
Americans. During the 19th century the British and American citizens started moving
into the territory and settling on the land. American citizen predominantly settled in
the fertile valleys because most of them were farmers. As years passed by many
people started migrating to the Oregon territory and the territory started to become
crowed. With the territory being crowed this would soon lead to conflict. James Polk
the master mind behind the manifest destiny campaign believed that the American
people had the right to expand to the entire continent North America.
James Polk was able to get a lot of people on his side to the point where rally s would
begin. Polk s original proposal for the border was at ... Show more content on

This situation was completely different from obtaining the Oregon territory. Mexico
mainly refused to accept and recognize Texas as independent was the root of the
conflict. After being declared as independent the United States declined to add it to
the union. Texas did not agree with the idea that it would be a slave state and
refused to corporate. This was soon brought to an end with the Treaty of Guadalupe
Hidalgo that established the Rio Grande as the United States Mexican border. This
agreement also caused Mexico to the sell California and any land above the Rio
Miles Davis And Coltrane Essay
Miles Davis and John Coltrane
Miles Davis was named as one of the most important musicians (trumpeters) of the
twentieth century. John Coltrane a groundbreaking acclaimed American saxophonist.
It is impossible to go into the genre of jazz or talk about American contemporary
music without mentioning their names. Hard bop, modal jazz were their main musical
features that to this day are an influence of most jazz today.
Both born in 1926, they each had their own path to success and fame. At just the
age of seventeen, Davis, a nine time Grammy Award winner, became a professional
trumpet player. After learning from Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker with
which he later played bebop with, Davis became famous for his indescribably
amazing jazz music. In 1945, he dropped out of Julliard School (at that time it was
the art and music institute) with the permission of his father and started his full time
career in music. At that time he was a member of the famous Charlie Parker Quintet
and made his first recording as a band leader the following year with his Miles Davis
Sextet. He admired working on improvising in ... Show more content on

Bebop was a genre of music created as a reaction to big band and swing music
(Danvarley, para.1). Davis was also very well known for his high profile bebop
music hard bop. It was a distinctive and one of a kind combination of gospel music,
R B, blues with saxophone, and piano. Together with Miles, John Coltrane helped
alter the landscape of jazz and create hard bop. Both of them are very well known
for bringing the genre of music to a whole other level. The style could be
characterized by a fast tempo, really high energy, and featured polyrhythm and
irregular asymmetric phrasing (Danvarley, para.1). Drums gave out more beat,
instruments were used in various different ways and the saxophone and trumpet
became the leading instruments giving both Coltrane and Davis freedom to
Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay
The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is the tale of two
desperate lovers, at antithetical ends of a violent feud, whose love affair meets a
tragic end. But to what extent are these two lovers responsible for their own
downfall or are they merely victims of harsh fate? Whilst Romeo and Juliet play a
crucial role in the generation of their own demise, there are also a variety of external
features that equally influence the hapless fate of the two star cross d lovers.
One of the most consequential of the external influences that prompted the demise of
the fervent love affair is the violent feud between the lovers families. Romeo and
Juliet were born into opposing sides of the violent vendetta and fell profoundly in love

A connection between the haste of the marriage of Romeo and Juliet can be linked
back to the contractual marriage of Juliet to Paris as arranged by her parents and the
deaths of both Tybalt and Mercutio. Juliet s impending marriage to Paris forces the
lovers to rush into vows of their own, basing their decision solely on their desires
and without heed or consideration of the consequences. Similarly, the deaths of both
Tybalt and Mercutio compels the pair to once again act in haste. Juliet is caught
between her love of Romeo and grievance over Tybalt s death at the hands of her
lover, whilst Romeo is banished from Verona. Both these external features rush the
lovers into somewhat dangerous and irrational decisions, with the urgency of their
affair contributing to the lack of consideration of the peril they could face. The
fraught circumstances further build on the already intense emotions of the lovers,
denying them the privilege of a normal relationship and pointing to a disaster for the
impassioned pair. Therefore, the actions of Juliet s parents and the deaths of both
Tybalt and Mercutio, inflames the lovers emotions and causes them to rush their
relationship. This pressures them into making irrational and perilous decsions and
leads them to a poignant

Summary Of The Stories Boys By Susan Minot
After reading the stories: Boys by Rick Moody, Girl by Jamaica Kincaid, and Lust
by Susan Minot, I definitely became more open minded. I began to analyze each
story individually and noticed that they are all told from different points of view,
but in each story a female was the narrator. Lust , Boy , and Girl , while all three
stories are told by a femalenarrator; each narrator s voice concerns different stages of
life. In Rick Moody s short storyBoy his styles of writing was very repetitive, putting
emphasis on the word boy and the phrase enter the house (238). The tone started off
as neutral and unbiased, simply stating facts about the boys lives. For example, them
playing baseball, and borrowing their sister s Barbie doll, etc. The tone began to
soften up as the story slowly became more emotional when the twins found out their
sister was diagnosed with cancer.
In Jamaica Kincaid s short story Girls , the author also uses repetition within the
writing. As the narrator gives the girl a list of proper things a woman in their society
should do, she occasionally states, like the slut (I know) you are bent on
becoming... (326). The narrator is attempting to help the girl but also rebukes her
at the same time. There are two sets of tones in this piece; the first being the
narrator and the second tone being that of the girl. The speaker is perceived as
being bossy, listing all these demands for the girl on how to be a suitable woman in
society. The girl only

Pros And Cons Of Social Media
In today s world it s like we are all in a network state. Social media can play a major
role in our lives through the way we portray one another. Not many people know
this but many companies look through your social media before hiring you. I
would want to know my employer personally before hiring them because at some
point people on social media post about drug abuse and provocative images and
comments. Your social media reflects off of you as of who you are as an
intellectual person and not everyone on social media portrays themselves as a well
spoken person. Colleges and universities are now going more indepth into looking
at your resume. Why look at your resume when you are taught to only brag and talk
about your positives on there when on social media you share your true thoughts and
feelings. Although social media may have bad impacts on student lives there are
some pros, for example for students the key to success is studying and most college
students do their studying online.
Getting to involved in social media is a bad habit because you portray only your
appealing sides like i am a sixteen year old girl and i don t post a picture if there is a
mess in the background or if i don t look appealing to one s eye. Although that is
my opinion it is very like true because with social media it s like a game to see who
has more followers or friends . It s all about a competition and whos better. Girls post
provocative pictures to attract followers although it might not
MS-DRG System Analysis
The MS DRG is a system that consists of numerical group numbers that range from
001 999 that was created and is overseen by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) in 2008 for Medicare inpatient services as well as TRICARE
beneficiaries. Each Medicare and TRICARE patient is assigned 1 MS DRG.
The MS DRG, is then linked to a fixed payment amount based on the average
treatment cost of patients in that group.
The MS DRG system calculates the reimbursement payment based on the DRG that
is assigned to the patient and on the 3 types of diagnosis/subgroups which are 1)
major complication/comorbidity (MCC) 2.) Complication/comorbidity (CC) and 3. )
Non complication/comorbidity (w/o CC/MCC) and the patient s age.
Now, how it is that a patient is assigned an MS DRG could be a little complicated.
First, the patient must be assigned International Classification of Diseases 9 codes
(ICD 9). In order for this step to be completed, the coder must follow a list of
guidelines that determine the ICD 9 codes for the patient. This codes will be assigned
to the patient s principal diagnosis, principal and secondary procedure, comorbidity,
major complication and complications. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like the ICD 9 codes have guidelines, the MS DRG does also. Aside from
applying the ICD 9 code to determine the MS DRG, the total amount of days the
patient had to stay in the hospital, arithmetic mean LOS (total days divided by the
total # of patients), the average resources that were used to treat the patient and the
geographical are of the facilities are taken into account to determine the correct code
which in conclusion determines how much the reimbursement will

Corroborating this trend, Euromonitor International, a market research company, says
the amount of money Indians spend on meals outside the home has more than
doubled in the past decade, to about US$5 billion a year, and is expected to double
again in about half that time.
Another interesting trend noticed in consumer patterns is the growth of branded
products. The branded food market is on a roll. It grew over 5 per cent in 2004,
according to the latest ACNielsen Global Services report on global trends in food
and beverages.
That makes food an attractive proposition for investors. Savvy companies have

businesses in 2004. According to industry estimates, 321 private sector projects

said, I can be who ever I wanted. I could be white. I could be free (Beals page 6). She
is saying that she should be free to do what she wants and not be fouled because of
the color of her skin. She also said, We have a right to go to that school and I m

Evil In Dante s Inferno
Divine Comedy is an epic poem written by Dante. The epic is divided into three
parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. In Inferno, Virgil (the Roman poet)
guides Dante through Hell. There are nine circles of Hell followed by Lucifer s
level at the bottom. Level one is Limbo. Charon takes you across the River
Acheron to Limbo, which is a place of sorrow without torment. Level two is Lust. It
is a place of no light and bellowing seas. Here the lustful spend eternity. Level three
is gluttony. There is eternal rain, curses, and cold. Gluttons are punished by lying in a
filthy mixture of shadows and of rotten water. Cerebus, a canine monster with three

an amphitheatre which is a pit of despair. Level nine is Treachery. Lucifer (Satan)
resides here. It is removed from the source of light and warmth. In Purgatorio, Virgil
leads Dante on a climb up the mount of Purgatory. The mount of Purgatory has seven
levels of suffering and spiritual growth which is an allegory for the seven deadly sins.
The seven levels are the following: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Avarice, Gluttony, and
Lust. The Garden of Eden is at the top of the mount. Dante must learn to reject the
earthly paradise he sees for the heavenly one that awaits. In Paradiso, Beatrice guides

existence, including his idea of God, has a cause. So if everything that exists has a
cause, and it is understood that something cannot come from nothing, where does
this idea come from? Descartes goes then to say that ideas of every kind must be of
the same reality rooted in the cause of the idea, or where it came from, that is in the
effect of the idea, which is the mindhaving the perception of the idea or thing; this
conceptis independently called the Reality Principle. He says this more simply by
portraying that if we know an idea, then the thing that caused the idea must always
have the same reality to produce the idea itself; this concept, or argument, essentially
proves God exists as the idea of God has no other way to come about other than
through God himself. Descartes then proves that God is not a deceiver by showing
that the beginning of anything must come from God, due, again, to the concept that
ideas or objects cannot be consequent of nothingness or randomness, and that because
truth is the base and beginning of all ideas and knowledge, deceit cannot be from
God, as God is perfect and true and deceitfulness cannot exist
Ethics Of Fair Play And Ethics In Soccer
Fair Play and Ethics in Soccer Soccer is the biggest sport in the world, boasting a
fan base of over four billion people worldwide. It is without a doubt a very loved
sport, but that doesn t mean that the sport holds a perfect record of being clean and
not being disliked. Fernando Torres goes down inside the box in the 89th minute,
but the question is whether the ref has given a penalty (Martin Tyler Chelsea vs
Liverpool). Flopping is one of the biggest debates on this concept, because if not
identified it goes against fair play rules and moral standards. In the case above a
penalty was awarded in the ending minutes of a match to declare one team the
winner over the opposing side. This would not have been a problem if an actual foul
was committed in the box, but when looking back at the footage you can see that the
playerobviously flopped upon contact and no call should have been given at that
time. FIFA, the leading soccer association, stands highly to support the enforcement
of fair play and ethics in soccer, but there is only so much they can do and so much
that has been done. Due to this dilemma, soccer as a sport receives a lot of heat on
this and has been trying to cut down on unruly incidents that go against ethics and
fair play. Flopping isn t the only thing that goes against fair play and ethics, there is a
multitude of ethical and moral rules being broken.
The ethics of soccer is a complicated topic to approach. First of all, soccer is a
worldwide sport, so
West Side Story Symbolism
To begin with, the scenography mimics the aspects of Upper West Side New York
during the 1950 s to allow the audience to understand the setting of play. Most of the
sets depict an urban setting in which the audience can clearly see that the story takes
place in a well developed city. As for the representation and perception of the stage,
most sets were seen as abstract Some of the sets created entailed Doc s restaurant,
The Playground, and Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, the relationship between the
audiencespace and performers space were definitely separate: meaning the audience
were strictly viewing the playwhile the performers were telling a story. Interestingly,
the play at times had an amber lighting dispersed across the set to give off a warm
tone or vibe symbolizing good feelings or nice moment. Some parts of the play
were set in a dimmer background enticing that the play at times was very serious.
In addition, the electronic used in IVC s West Side Story production amplified or
added more symbolism to the play. The hearing of a siren suggested that the police
were coming. During fight scenes, the auditory sound of a punch suggested that a
someone literally got punched. When a building was lit with light and the
surroundings were dark, it suggests that the current day of time was night time.
During the rumble, the color red was shined specifically on Riff and Bernardo to
symbolize that they were bleeding out and had died. Overall, the props in the play

Echo 550 and Acoustic Liquid Handling Technology
High throughput screening (HTS) is essential in the process of finding a potential
drug candidate, and automation is key for a good screen both in terms of robustness
and reproducibility.
Since the day I joined Perlara, I kept hearing about the Echo machine on one of our
benches back there but it is only a couple of weeks back that I actually got to learn
and use it. I knew that the Echo 550 from Labcyte Inc. was one of the most prized

ADE can be used to transfer a range of solvents with viscosity ranging from 0.3 to
10 centipoise. The technology is also capable of working with volatile liquids such
as ethanol and acetone which have low viscosity and surface tension. The ADE
technology can effectively transfer a range of solvents with varying viscosity
effectively with low coefficient of variation (CV). The CV is as low as 8% when the
plate has unknown water and/or DMSO compositions. Since transfer by ADE
technology does not involve any physical contact, it minimizes the risk of
contamination and/or cross contamination. This technology also proves to be cost
effective in the long run because it does not involve the use of pipette tips. In
conclusion, the Echo 550 using ADE technology is a very effective tool in the drug

Ocular Melanoma Research Paper
While researching in depth Ocular Melanoma, there has been a consistent theme
persisting there is not enough research done to find a way to decrease metastasis
percentage and increase survival rate. The current attempts at decreasing metastasis
and increasing survival rate have stayed the same throughout the course of 4 decades.
The current drug, LS2616, is being used to treat Ocular Melanomapatients, but it is
used to late to feel the full impact of the drug. Research and Development
laboratories are working on a faster acting drug, but nothing has been tested on mice
or released to the public. If new drugs could be created, the survival rate of Ocular
Melanoma would increase drastically.

There are two main categories for treatment; radiation and surgery. The choice is
ultimately up to the patient, but depending on the size and location of the tumor,
different treatments work better. Radiation and surgery treatments have both pros
and cons. Plaque radiation therapy is the most common and effective radiation for
ocular melanoma ( Ocular Melanoma Treatment , 2016, para 4.). It can be
distributed either by a machine or by a gold plaque, that resembles a lot like a tiny
bottle cap. Removing the tumor surgically or removing the eye all together are the
two most common surgical methods. If the tumor is small, then just the tumor can
be removed, if it is in the correct location to remove it without damaging any other
part of the eye. If the tumor is large... and cause severe eye pain the whole eye will
be removed, medically referred to as enucleation ( Treating Uveal (Eye) Melanoma
by Location and Size , 2017, para. 8). Once the removal of the eye occurs, after the
patient heals, they would be fitted for a prosthetic eye that matches your other eye.
The artificial eye can move, and resemble a real eye, but the patient will just lose
their vision. Both radiation and surgery can result in sickness, much symptoms like
the flu, and can sometimes lead to the loss of total vision. If the tumor metastasizes
to the liver, there are treatments to try and reduce more metastasis and decrease the
tumor, as well as after/before enucleation to try and stop metastasis. If the tumor is
present, but has not metastasized, the oncologist can prescribe medication to prevent
metastasis. LS 2616, a quinoline 3 carboxamide... decrease in primary and secondary

Head Lice Infestation Research Paper
The treatment of infestation of head lice is done using topical insecticides. The
CDC recommends to treat all those infested, residing in the same home, at the same
time. Check the entire household for evidence of live lice. If beds are shared in a
household and one of the bedmates is infested, the other bedmate should be treated.
Over the counter treatments for head lice are approved by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA). Pediculocides kill lice and ovicides kill the nits. If the
treatment is not ovicidal or is weakly ovicidal multiple treatments are necessary for
the complete eradication of the infestation. If the treatment is strongly ovicidal only

Since AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) is a disease of the immune
system caused by HIV, which is a retrovirus that causes acute immunosuppression.
HIV can produce an increase in fatal diseases which includes wasting syndromes
and central nervous system disintegration. People with acquired immune
deficiency syndrome (AIDS) develop opportunistic infections once the immune
system becomes severely compromised. A patient s CD4 T cell is directly related
to the risk of developing an opportunistic infection. Additionally, HIV most
frequently infects CD4 cells. The CD4 cell count is a key gauge of the health of
the immune system. CD4 levels lower than 200 will be at risk for an opportunistic
infection. .Patients with AIDS routinely receives a test called the CD4 test. This
blood test is taken to count several types of cells. Moreover, this test do not count
CD4 cells, it is a calculation based on total white blood cells and the proportion of
cells that are CD4. The blood sample is tested to count several types of cells.
Interpretation of this test does not count the CD4 cells directly. Instead, the
laboratory makes an estimate based on total white blood cells and the percentage
of cells that are CD4. Therefore, the CD4 count is not exact. When the CD4 cells
has gone down, it is indicative of a weakened immune system. The lower the CD4
cells, the more probable the patient will become sick. A patient loses the ability to
fight infection when the CD4 cells have gone down. Once the patient has lost the
ability to fight off germs, an opportunistic infection such as pneumonia, skin
infections, oral disorders, diarrhea, AIDS related dementia, Kaposi sarcoma, and
CNS disorders may occur. Routinely patients are advised to check CD4 cells every
three to six months when initiating antiretroviral treatment and once levels has

The Five Types of Organizational Structure
Manager s of an organization has to use structure to help the company run efficiently.
The five types of organizational structures are functional, divisional, matrix, team
based, and virtual network (Draft, 2013, p.316). Functional structure in an
organization that is developed by grouping departments by the skills, level of
knowledge, activities done daily, and the resource used. This structure places specific
departments from the bottom to the top (Draft, 2013, p.318). For example, specific
departments such as: human resources, accounting, engineering, and manufacturing
are placed at the top, while there are mostly seen at the bottom in other organizations.
While common functions such as; people, facilities, and other resources are
combined together as a single department instead of being divided into multiple
departments. Divisional structure is known by the approach of having similar skills
and resources grouped together into divisions (Draft, 2013, p.318). This occurs when
a company has common goals that the company wants to achieve. This allows all
skills and departments to come together and produce the goal there are looking to
achieve. In this type of structure not one person is viewed as important than the next
one, because it takes everyone to work together to produce the outcome the company
wants to achieve. The matrix structure uses both functional and divisional structures
to run an organization (Draft, 2013, p.321). This allows the company to
Prosocial Behavior Paper
Influences on Children s Prosocial Behavior
Prosocial behavior is important to psychologists because it is a significant part of
development in a child. Children learn prosocial behavior from many influences in
their lives including parents, peers, teachers, caregivers, and the media (Williams, O
Driscoll, Moore, 2014). Prosocial behavior is any action intended to help others.
Children learn their earliest behaviors from their parents. If a child never participated
in prosocial behavior, there would be negative impacts. Some negative impacts could
include: less likelihood to develop a sense of gratitude, less involvement with others,
and Imitating their parent s actions plays a crucial role in their social interactions

Prior studies have shown that mimicking promotes prosocial actions, but little
research has been done on who has a greater influence on prosocial behavior in
children. The independent variable of the study will be which adult model is
shown in the video of prosocial behavior, either a parent as a model, and other
adult as a model. Each child will be assigned to watch one of two types of videos in
which a parent or an other adult performs a prosocial action. The dependent
variable for this study would be the behavior of the child. The dependent variable
will be measured by the amount of time the child takes to act prosocially. In the
control condition, the participants will not be shown a video and they will just be
placed in the possible prosocial situation. The experiment will observe which adult
model has the greatest influence of prosocial behavior in the participants. The
hypothesis of the proposed experiment is participants who watch a video of their
parent acting in a prosocial manner are more likely to behave in a prosocial manner.
This hypothesis comes from a finding that parents have a great influence on a child s
prosocial behaviors throughout
Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart
Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how
mathematicians came about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by
geometry as someone today might think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by
algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from the early Egyptians and
Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the impossibility to
solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one
step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way.
Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to
the Babylonians, solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any
clue about how the Babylonians came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came
across is geometrically. Stewart shows how Euclid s Elements of Geometry
introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in Elements in
Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a
compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect
and angle though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7
gon. It was Euclid s Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further
and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as squaring the circle with only a
compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led mathematicians to
change the way that they

Roles Of Shivaji Maharaj
INTRODUCTION
In the following research paper, we will learn about one such loyalty, that of Tanaji
Malusare, towards Shivaji Maharaj. How this brave soul gave up his life while
recapturing the Kondana fort.
SHIVAJI MAHARAJ
Shivaji was a warrior king, born on 10th April 1627 to Jijabai and Shahji at the
Shivneri Fort. Shivaji Maharaj was named after Lord Shiva.
Shivaji estlablished a competent and progressive civil rule with the help of a
disciplined military and well structured administrative organization. He created an
independent Maratha Kingdom with Raigad as its capital. He became the crowned
king Chhatrapati of the Maratha Kingdom in 1674. Shivaji initiated the idea of

TANAJI S ROLE IN SWARAJYA
The Maratha warrior Shivaji was an able administrator who established a government
that included modern concepts such as cabinet, foreign affairs and internal
intelligence. Shivaji was well known for his benevolent attitude towards his subjects.
He believed that there was a close bond between the state and its citizens. This idea
led to the foundation of Swarajya which aimed at establishing a free and independent
homeland, and in this goal he was supported by high level of loyalty, respect and
commitment he received from his companion Tanaji Malusare.
Tanaji was given the responsibility of controlling the delinquent tribes in the Konkan

Similarities Between Jane Austen And Northanger Abbey
this text?
After reading The Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, it can be said that there are
several similarities as well as differences in comparison with another masterpiece
written by Austen: Pride and Prejudice.
Firstly, it is important to mention the most significant difference between those two
works by Austen. In terms of genre, Northanger Abbey is considered to be the form
of a gothic parody while the other work, Pride and Prejudice, is categorised as a
comedy of manners.
The comedy of manners is what we could nowadays consider as the equivalent of the
romantic comedy, but there are specific qualities ascribed to it that makes the novel
stand out from other types of social novels. Pride and Prejudice pictures both the
pride and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, she replaces the supernatural elements with realistic ones instead and
therefore she somehow mocks the most typical features of the gothic genre. For
example, where an old manuscript should be, Austen gives the reader a laundry
list instead! In terms of Pride and Prejudice, Austen used irony quite often. Irony is
an perfect way for authors to combine wit and drama at the same time. In Pride and
Prejudice, irony can be found for example in the gradual revelation of Darcy and
Elizabeth s feelings for each other or, most notably, ironical is the fact that pride
leads to prejudice and prejudice invites pride.
As far as similarities go, the two stories share the type of narration. Jane Austen
wrote Pride and Prejudice through a mostly third person omniscient point of view
and we can say that the same point of view prevails also in Northanger Abbey.
Another similar feature might be, that both novels depict a society in which a woman
s reputation is of the utmost importance. Both Elizabeth and Catherine (main
protagonist in Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey, respectively) are expected
to behave in certain ways in order not to be judged and condemned for their actions

Animal Farm Totalitarianism
In George Orwell s classic novel, Animal Farm, Orwell uses symbolism to suggest
that totalitarianistic governments do not always last. Symbolism is the use of a
person, place, thing, or idea to represent something else. Because of how they run
the farm and scare the animals into submission, Old Major, Mr. Jones, and
Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that symbolize totalitarianism. At the
beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure, had experienced a
dream that he had wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old
Major was becoming old and was living out the last of his days, the dream had
prompted him to gather the animals in the big barn to relay the dream
immediately. He urged the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and take control of
the farm by scaring them into action. No animal escapes the cruel knife in the end.
(Orwell 9) he had stated. By the end of his speech, the animals were angry and
scared of how their lives would eventually end according to Old Major. Not long
after his speech Old Major died, but not without making the animals fearful of what
would happen if they did not respect his wishes.... Show more content on

Jones, the alcoholic owner of Manor Farm, ran the farm in a similar fashion to Old

In turn, the animals would submit to him out of fear and Mr. Jones stayed in charge.
That is until they got fed up with the ill treatment and rebelled against Mr. Jones. The

Assured of success, Joshua renewed his plans to conquer Ai. The enemy forces
were lured into the open so that the thirty thousand men who had stationed beyond
the city by night were able to attack Ai from the near and set it afire. The defenders
were annihilated, their king was hanged and the site was reduced to rubble. When
Israel makes its second attack, the people of Ai as well as the inhabitants of Bethel
vacate their cities to pursue the enemy (Josh. 8: 17). Not all of the Canaanites tried
to resist Israel s invasion. One group, the Gibeonites, avoided destruction by
deceiving the Israelites into making a covenant of peace with them (Joshua 9:1).
Alarmed by the defection of the Gibeonites to Israel, a group of southern Canaanite
kings, led by Adoni zedek of Jerusalem, formed a coalition against the invading force.
The kings threatened to attack the Gibeonites, causing Joshua to come to the defense
of his new allies. Because of supernatural intervention, the Israelites were able to
defeat the coalition. Joshua then launched a southern campaign which resulted in the
capture of numerous Canaanite cities (Joshua 10:1). Joshua s third and last military
campaign was in northern Canaan. In that region King Jabin of Hazor formed a
coalition of neighbouring kings to battle with the Israelites. Joshua made a surprise
attack upon them at the waters of Merom, utterly defeating his foe (Joshua 11:1 15).

recommendations that I could come up with, I wonder that if I had been able to

something else to the table, a different viewpoint. Affecting the way that the plans
are written and in turn ran, I feel that I could make a big difference in the lives of
the children and their families also. Every two weeks each child s team meets to

Difference Between Modern And Modern Architecture
Contemporary architecture indicates to the style of today s architecture. Its style is
not defined; because it is constantly changing, plus it choses different styles and eras.
On the other hand, Modern Architecture has defined its style. It describes a specific
era design, that it leads to the history of machination and to the 1920s 1950s styles.
Many people mistaken in defining modern architecture and contemporary

in many of its designs there is a constant in the elements and sharp features. All the
structural elements (windows, fireplace, roof lines, staircases...) shows strongly the

rather than using the classical triangle shape style. This shows off the complication
that modern style has in its design. The Varity number of the lines and ceilings got it
interesting to the viewer for its mixed materials and unique outstanding. This also

The Difference in Thoughts on Freedom of the Grand...
Q1: The Grand Inquisitor According to The Grand Inquisitor, human beings do
not want absolute freedom. The parable of Dostoevsky is told on a religious level,
whereby the Inquisitor condemns Christ for offering human beings the choice
between good and evil yet gives them a weak will to make such decisions. It is
better to be happy and to have no choices, says the Inquisitor, since so many people
will end up miserable and condemned as a result of their freedom. (Much like
Adam and Eve seem inevitably destined to be cast out of the Garden of Eden by
their own, freely willed choice to eat of the Tree of Knowledge). To a
contemporary American, the idea that freedom could be negative is profoundly
disturbing. The value of freedom is so dear to our secular culture that it is seen as
a universal good. However, it can be observed that even within a relatively free
society, people often seem desperate to constrict themselves with self made
prisons. People remain in bad marriages and bad jobs, saying they have no choice,
without exploring the limits of what choice means. Theoretically, one can walk
away from a bad job and not look back, provided one is willing to accept the
uncertainty of not knowing where the next paycheck will come from. But the
anxiety of too many choices often paralyzes the individual so we prefer to say we
have no choice. The idea of security, which The Grand Inquisitor says is what
people really want, can cause many people to reject a happier, freer life.
The Language Of Egypt And The Egyptian Language
Egypt s Language In A.D. 639 Egypt was conquered by the Muslim Rashidun army.
Before this had happened Egypt s language was Coptic which had developed from
Ancient Egypt. Coptic was the language for almost all of the population in Egypt.
But, this language came to an end when by the twelfth century when it was replaced
by the Arabic language. Even after this language was replaced the Coptic Orthodox
church still used it instead of the Arabic language. The Arabic language has become
the main language of Egyptian christian and Muslim. This language has been
unchanged since the seventh century. However, the written language has changed the
modern forms of style and the language is simpler than in original Arabic and are
often the same as English or French. (Home)
Religion in Egypt Most of the population of Egypt practices Islam. It originated
from the country which is now called Saudi Arabia (Home). Muhammad, the
prophet, is seen in their religion as the last of God s missionaries to bring the
revelation to humankind. He was chosen to provide a message for everyone
instead of just certain people. Muhammad is known to have provided the Quran,
just like Jesus is known for providing the bible so his followers can read his word
and become spiritually closer. This book, the Quran, is also known to be the
foundation for all discipline in Islam, just like the bible is the foundation for
christianity.
Respect and Honor in Egypt Honor is an important role in relationships.
The Leadership Styles Of Sir Li Ka-Shing
As a most successful leader, there are lots of success experiences about his
leadership. One of the leadership styles that Sir Li Ka Shing having is the
transformation leadership style. His transformation leadership style can be shown
by his growing business operation. On the different stage of his company s
growing, his innovation is widespread. He always change the old way although it
seems health and success. He is a transformational leader who uses intellectual
stimulation. Nothing can stop him from innovation and change the old rules. He has
the ability of imagination and creativity in rethinking assumptions and old ways of
doing things. To illustrate my point, Sir Li Ka Shing entered the business world as a
teenager, selling plastic goods until he is twenty two years old. He started his own
plastics company, Cheung Kong, specializing in plastic flowers. He entered the real
estate market in the 1960s.In 1979, only the colonial government owned more real
estate in Hong Kongthan Sir Li Ka Shing. What makes him distinctive, though, is that
he has plowed returns from Hong Kong real estate into international businesses.
Besides, Sir Li Ka Shing has displayed inspirational motivation.... Show more content

The pay that he compensated to his workers is less than the actual rate. This shows
that Sir Li Ka Shing is an autocratic leader. Autocratic leaders expect obedience, not
understanding and input from their staff or followers. Under autocratic style, leader
is the maximum ruler that they make decisions without seeking any opinion. Sir Li
Ka Shing autocratic action is inappropriate and this will eventually create fear and
low employee morale. Therefore, to apply autocratic leadership style in an
appropriate way, Sir Li Ka Shing should listen to his employees and take their
complaints into considerations. This will lead to the employees to remain loyal
towards Sir Li

The Influence Of The Heian Period Of Japan
What is worth learning in a boring history class? Things such as The World Wars
and The French Revolution might be interesting, but the excitement of a history class
comes from the Classics . A Classic , as in a classical civilization. They draw the
curiosity and interests of students because of their unique marks in history, but what
categories does one civilization have to satisfy in order to be a Classic ? It has to
be original, influential, and timeless! The Roman Empire and the Greeks are the
widely known classical civilizations, however, the Heian Period of Japan, that
satisfy all the categories to be a classic, is not considered as one! Since, the Heian
Period is original, influential, and timeless, it is a classical civilization.... Show more

As in, something made them unique and different from all the previous
civilizations. The unique factor of the Heian Period is that women were given
more rights, which led them to be culturally dominate and actively involved in the
culture of the civilization. According to the book The Tale of Genji , written by a
female novelist of the Heian imperial court, women of the Heian Period were
provided with the basic education such as, art, poetry, music, and writing. There were
also laws that protected women from abuse of male partners.(Shikibu, 2014)
Furthermore, women were allowed to divorce and remarry which was not even
available in many European countries.(Lurie, 2004) All of the following droits were
much more than what the previous Japanese civilizations offered for women. During
this period, women were still limited to outside or political activities, thus, allowing
more time to create literature. Consequently, many novels, poems, and literature from
the Heian Period are from female authors. Notably, the Heian Period was also the
peak of Japanese literature. Giving women more rights significantly changed the
behaviour of Heian women
Ancient Polytheistic Religion Compared to Judaism Essay
Ancient polytheistic religion compared to Judaism
Ancient polytheistic and Judaism are two of the most opposite beliefs possible.
Polytheistic belief is the belief in more than just one god. Polytheism was brought to
this world by the ancient Egyptians and the ancient Greeks. The Greek gods often
took on the form of being humans while the Egyptian gods were the main cornerstone
to their beliefs and religion. Judaism or the belief of Monotheism is the belief in one
main god. Monotheism we brought to the world by the Jewish culture. It was
originated from the Hebrew bible and is one of the oldest religions still living today.
Judaism was a monotheistic religion of the Jews having its spiritual and ethical ideas

As the Mesopotamian civilization rose up in the valley of Tigris and Euphrates,
the Egyptian civilization was centered on the Nile River. The Egyptians were also
a polytheistic religion, in that they believed in many gods. Egyptian Gods have
human bodies, with human or animal heads, and wear crowns or thorns. Egyptian
Gods were gods of different things such as the sky, sun, earth, and music. The
Egyptians worship took place at small shrines; they left offerings to the chosen
gods as well as simple prayers. The Egyptians believed that there afterlife was full
of dangers, but those dangers could be overcame by magical spells in the Book of
the Dead. Also the Egyptians believed in the preservation of the body and that it was
essential for the afterlife.
The Hittites were an Indo European, speaking a language that was related to the
Greek and Sanskrit. The Hittites adopted Mesopotamian writing along with many
other aspects of the Mesopotamian culture, including polytheism. The discovery of
iron was found in the Hittites region, somewhat before the creation of their kingdom.
The discovery led to the making of iron weapons and tools rather than copper ones.
The Discovery of the iron led to the beginning of the Iron Age. Other ancient societies
that were polytheistic were the Persians, and the Assyrians.
The Israelites possessed little worldly power or wealth, but they created a powerful
religion, known as Judaism which is a form of
Looking Up At The Grey Sky
Looking up at the grey night sky, John Jhonerston grimly pondered about existence
as he shuffled down barren boulevard. With the acknowledgement of being
constantly monitored by the secret police, John awkwardly put one foot in front
the other; the small trip to the grocery store starting to feel like eternity. Ever since
the new totalitarian government had been established after the civil war, ever
since the loss of John s family, life has been a living hell. A pointless, monotonous,
depressing, existence. A pain that John has had to endure for countless years. Its
was late night, and very few people were outside. The street was quiet and peaceful.
It was a nice break from the daily sight of people being put down by firing squad in...

Humanity just barely survived without natural light by growing plants in indoor
farms with artificial light. Snow was falling again, and John had to get to the
grocery store quickly. Trying to cover his face, he walked at a steadfast pace, while
simultaneously trying to cover up all of his body in hopes that nothing but
garments are burned. John finally arrived at the grocery store after a couple of
minutes of enduring the strong wind and acidic snow. After stepping in, he
smelled of burnt leather and wool. John proceeded to check himself in a two way
mirror usually used for shake downs and inspections, and he noticed that the outer
layer of the back of his leather trench jacket was discolored from the acidic snow.
He immediately saw some more snowflakes resting on his shoulders, slowly eating
away at the leather; John wiped the snow off and consequently received slight burns
to his hand. After enduring a stinging pain, John finally started shopping. The
immense array of cameras is quite frightening to see at first. It took John some time
getting used to it. Feeling like someone in a government room was staring icy
daggers into your back is very discomforting. Starting in the produce section, John
was searching for the fruits and vegetables that he required on a daily basis. John
casually yet simultaneously warily strolled down the aisles, picking up the fruits and
vegetables John enjoyed
Greed And Incentives Essay
An incentive is a bullet, a key: an often tiny object with astonishing power to change
anything (Levitt 20). What professor Steven D. Levitt (a professor of economics at
the University of Chicago s dictum here is that the incentive has a lot of power in
this world). And that the metaphor of comparing incentives to a bullet really speaks
wonders to their strengths. They can change almost any situation by motivating
someone to do something in a business situation, all the way to education fields.
After many years of college, business and economics students are being taught how
to be greedy in college. It is only a matter of time before greed is too powerful.
Incentives and greed both have favorable and critical effects on individuals and the
populace, but when connected together both can have dangerous effects on future
selections.
Incentives give better options to companies, and can help motivate or create better
environments. In this text from an incentive brochure states Travel is the most
glamorous and promotable of all of the award options, with around 40 percent of
incentive users choosing it. However, even more than merchandise, it s a challenge
to plan and manage. There are site inspections to be made, travel logistics to arrange,
and meals, and entertainment that will please everyone (Reward 2). The incentive is

clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit (Relin

incentive to have greed, and the diction of evolutionary spirit can be inferred that
social darwinism is in play, with too much greed comes the dangerous choices, and
these young people being filled with propaganda to be the best and only the strongest

Bernard s Statement Nothing Is What You Think It Is
In Bernard s novel the Achievement habit he uses experiences to prove statements.
One of those statements Nothing is what you think it is is being described by many
situations to describe that nothing really is what we probably think it is.These
statements are all provided in this book to eventually persuade readers on how to
change their lives. The situations being used come from those studying at Stanford
University and whom are participating in the design thinking. Due to the use of
design thinking, society, and personal experiences Roth s statement Nothing is what
you think it is succeeds and also fails.

By using design thinking, society, and personal experiences Roth s statement
Nothing is what you think it is fails. Roth says, To forge a new attitude toward the
events and relationship in your life you must learn to look at them with a fresh
perspective. When making Roth s statement false, people shouldn t have to look at
things at different perspective everything is just what people think it is. In another
piece of writing, Dispersed Collectivities: Rumors Gossip an another describes
different types of gossip and rumors. Rumors go against Roth s statement because
people seem to believe rumors. When people believe rumors everything is obviously
what it seems. Individuals who take a critical set or stance are able to separate truth
from falsehood. So when people do not look at things from a different perspective
they just believe what they hear. Rumors are one of the things that people just
believe. This counteracts Roth s statement because there are people that believe that
everything is what you think it is not nothing is what you think it

Dream House Essay. My Dream House Essay in English for Classes 1,2,3 Students 10 Lines ...

  • 1. Dream House Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Dream House" can be both a captivating and challenging endeavor. On one hand, the subject offers a vast canvas for imagination, allowing you to delve into the realms of personal preferences, architectural wonders, and idyllic settings. On the other hand, the sheer breadth of possibilities might make it challenging to narrow down your focus and present a cohesive narrative. To begin with, you'll need to navigate through the intricate details of what constitutes your dream house. This involves considering not only the physical aspects like the design, location, and amenities but also the intangible elements such as the emotions and memories you hope to create within its walls. The challenge lies in striking a balance between vividly describing your ideal living space and maintaining a sense of coherence throughout the essay. Furthermore, conveying your passion and enthusiasm for your dream house is crucial to engage your readers. It requires the art of language to paint a picture that goes beyond the physical structure, invoking emotions and aspirations. Balancing creativity with practicality becomes a tightrope walk as you strive to make your dream house not just a figment of imagination but a tangible, relatable concept. As with any essay, research becomes a key component. While it may seem counterintuitive for a personal and imaginative topic like a dream house, grounding your ideas in reality adds depth and authenticity. This may involve exploring architectural styles, learning about sustainable building practices, or understanding the cultural and historical influences that could shape your dream house. In conclusion, the difficulty in writing a "Dream House Essay" arises from the need to seamlessly blend creativity with coherence, passion with practicality. It's about crafting a narrative that not only showcases your vivid imagination but also resonates with readers on a deeper level. Successfully navigating through these challenges, however, can result in a compelling essay that goes beyond the surface of bricks and mortar, offering a glimpse into the very essence of your aspirations and desires. If you find yourself struggling with this task or similar writing challenges, remember that assistance is available. Various resources, including professional writing services like HelpWriting.net, can provide support in creating well-crafted essays on a wide range of topics. Dream House Essay Dream House Essay

Estimating Exchange Rate Volatility With Garch Models Essay Student Number: 159006900 Estimating Exchange Rate Volatility with GARCH Models Master of Business Analysis and Finance 2016 Department of Economics, University of Leicester 159006900 1 Introduction ?The increased importance being attached to exchange rates is a result of the globalisation of modern business, the continuing growth in world trade relative to national economies, the trend towards economic integration and the rapid pace of change in the technology of money transfer.? • 3. Savage Reservation In Brave New World Both Brave New World and The Dispossessed have different takes on utopia, a place or state of ideal perfection and excellence. However, the savage reservation in Brave New World has a lack of government, which allows for the people there to freely decide how they would wish to live, unlike the World State or Anarres in The Dispossessed. The World State and Anarres have controlling governments that monitors all ideas to decide if they are considered dangerous to the society and regulates the opinions of the people. The savage reservation in Aldous Huxleys Brave New Worldis more utopian than both the modern World State and Ursula Le Guin s communist planet of Anarres from The Dispossessed because it maximizes freedom while minimizing the power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People at the savage reservation are less controlled because their culture and society is less structured due to its small size. The general leader has less to worry about when leading a small group rather than a large population in terms of riots, wars, and revolutions, therefore major control is unnecessary. In the World State however, the population is immense because of their method of creating babies in test tubes. To sustain peace, happiness, and the feeling of utopia, the government uses its control to give everyone in the same class the same opinion. This is done through conditioning, which includes forcing babies to associate electric shocks to certain items and hypnopГ¦dia. In the beginning of the book, the Director says The child s mind is these suggestions, and the sum of the suggestions is the child s mind... but all these suggestions are our suggestions! (Huxley 29) when describing why hypnopГ¦dia is used on the children as they grow up. This quote shows how the government s opinions are forced into the entire population s head as they grow up and that they are proud to be controlling their minds. This method may prevent wars over different beliefs and make everyone satisfied that they are in their assigned social class, but it also takes away individuality and freedom. Anarres is also heavily populated, so the Odonians are taught to believe that the people on Urras are corrupt and evil to keep them from wanting to leave Anarres or make contact with Urras. The extent of this belief is seen when Shevek explains why he might not return from Urras by stating, Anybody outside Defense could make explosives with blasting powder and blow up the ship on the ground. Or, more likely, attack me once I was outside the ship. (Le Guin 378). The people of Anarres think that Urras is so malicious that a fellow Odonian would not be
  • 4. Essay on Character Analysis of Jake Barnes The pivotal character of Ernest Hemingway s novel, The Sun Also Rises is Jake Barnes. He is a man of complex personality compelling, powerful, restrained, bitter, pathetic, extraordinarily ordinary yet totally human. His character swings from one end of the psychological spectrum to the other end. He has complex personality, a World War I veteran turned writer, living in Paris. To the world, he is the epitome of self control but breaks down easily when alone, plagued by self doubt and fears of inadequacy. He is at home in the company of friends in the society where he belongs, but he sees himself as someone from the outside looking in. He is not alone, yet he is lonely. He strikes people as confident, ambitious, careful, practical,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He demonstrates his propensity for extreme cruelty. Although he is a part of the generation, ironically he is different from the rest of them. He realizes the uselessness of the Lost Generation s way of life. He tells his friend Robert Cohn, You can t get away from yourself my moving from one place to another. (19) Jake doesn t think highly of Cohn, but he puts up with him anyway. Interestingly, Cohn is also attracted to Brett and this fuels Jake s already heightened feelings of inadequacy; thus Jake takes a condescending attitude toward Cohn. Jake describes Cohn as weak and inexperienced, timid and easily intimidated by a strong woman (Frances). This condescending attitude toward Cohn is nothing but the reflection of Hake s very own insecurities about his manhood. Jake is not a wealthy man; however, his ego gets the better of him. Time and again, he keeps a tight check of his bank account balance. But when Brett starts hanging out with Count Mippipopolous, Jake is not averse to offering up his money when they all go out together. Money takes a back seat to Jake s ego. Once, Brett sends the Count out for champagne so that she could be alone with Jake. Whereupon she talks to him about her fianc #233;, Michael and this shoots down Jake s already bruised ego to its lowest. However, For Jake, just to be with Brett is pure happiness. He is so blinded with love for her that he doesn t even flinch when she does
  • 5. Defining Nosql Database And Its Classification Essay Introduction The rapid growth in the world of technology has influenced the way we communicate, shop, learn, and share information. The development of technology led database analysts and administrators to find more convenient ways to store the big amount of data. Big data is known as expression in the tech world. It is defined as a huge collection of data that cannot be managed by relational databases (Moniruzzaman and Hossain 1). So, developers start to use non relational databases (NoSQL) to arrange and store the Big data. In order to understand how developers solve the storing issue of the big amount of data and provide systems that can sync data between multiple devices, we need to start with a brief background of NoSQL databases to understand Couchbase system. The purpose of this paper is to define NoSQL database, compare it with SQL database, define Couchbase and describe how Couchbase is synchronizing data between multiple devices, especially Couchbase Mobile. The outline of this paper consists of the following sections. Section 1 introduces NoSQL database and its classifications. Section 2 gives a brief comparison between NoSQL database and SQL database. Section 3 explains document oriented databases. Section 4 defines Couchbase. Section 5 describes Couchbase Mobile and provides an example of its use in synchronizing data between multiple mobile devices. This was mission was not something that was completed over night, but instead too many years to reach the goal. There were multiple disagreements and even some wars erected from this operation. In this paper I am going to discuss the how the Oregon Territory was one of the best claims we have owned and how the California and Texas Territory was one of the worst claims we have owned. The Oregon territory was originally occupied for many years by the Native Americans. During the 19th century the British and American citizens started moving into the territory and settling on the land. American citizen predominantly settled in the fertile valleys because most of them were farmers. As years passed by many people started migrating to the Oregon territory and the territory started to become crowed. With the territory being crowed this would soon lead to conflict. James Polk the master mind behind the manifest destiny campaign believed that the American people had the right to expand to the entire continent North America. This was soon brought to an end with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that established the Rio Grande as the United States Mexican border. This agreement also caused Mexico to the sell California and any land above the Rio

John Coltrane a groundbreaking acclaimed American saxophonist. It is impossible to go into the genre of jazz or talk about American contemporary music without mentioning their names. Hard bop, modal jazz were their main musical features that to this day are an influence of most jazz today. Both born in 1926, they each had their own path to success and fame. At just the age of seventeen, Davis, a nine time Grammy Award winner, became a professional trumpet player. After learning from Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker with which he later played bebop with, Davis became famous for his indescribably amazing jazz music. In 1945, he dropped out of Julliard School (at that time it was the art and music institute) with the permission of his father and started his full time career in music. At that time he was a member of the famous Charlie Parker Quintet and made his first recording as a band leader the following year with his Miles Davis Sextet. Together with Miles, John Coltrane helped alter the landscape of jazz and create hard bop. Both of them are very well known for bringing the genre of music to a whole other level. The style could be characterized by a fast tempo, really high energy, and featured polyrhythm and irregular asymmetric phrasing (Danvarley, para.1). • 8. Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is the tale of two desperate lovers, at antithetical ends of a violent feud, whose love affair meets a tragic end. But to what extent are these two lovers responsible for their own downfall or are they merely victims of harsh fate? Whilst Romeo and Juliet play a crucial role in the generation of their own demise, there are also a variety of external features that equally influence the hapless fate of the two star cross d lovers. One of the most consequential of the external influences that prompted the demise of the fervent love affair is the violent feud between the lovers families. Romeo and Juliet were born into opposing sides of the violent vendetta and fell profoundly in love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A connection between the haste of the marriage of Romeo and Juliet can be linked back to the contractual marriage of Juliet to Paris as arranged by her parents and the deaths of both Tybalt and Mercutio. Juliet s impending marriage to Paris forces the lovers to rush into vows of their own, basing their decision solely on their desires and without heed or consideration of the consequences. Similarly, the deaths of both Tybalt and Mercutio compels the pair to once again act in haste. Juliet is caught between her love of Romeo and grievance over Tybalt s death at the hands of her lover, whilst Romeo is banished from Verona. Both these external features rush the lovers into somewhat dangerous and irrational decisions, with the urgency of their affair contributing to the lack of consideration of the peril they could face. The fraught circumstances further build on the already intense emotions of the lovers, denying them the privilege of a normal relationship and pointing to a disaster for the impassioned pair. Therefore, the actions of Juliet s parents and the deaths of both Tybalt and Mercutio, inflames the lovers emotions and causes them to rush their relationship. This pressures them into making irrational and perilous decsions and leads them to a poignant

  • 10. Summary Of The Stories Boys By Susan Minot After reading the stories: Boys by Rick Moody, Girl by Jamaica Kincaid, and Lust by Susan Minot, I definitely became more open minded. I began to analyze each story individually and noticed that they are all told from different points of view, but in each story a female was the narrator. Lust , Boy , and Girl , while all three stories are told by a femalenarrator; each narrator s voice concerns different stages of life. In Rick Moody s short storyBoy his styles of writing was very repetitive, putting emphasis on the word boy and the phrase enter the house (238). The tone started off as neutral and unbiased, simply stating facts about the boys lives. For example, them playing baseball, and borrowing their sister s Barbie doll, etc. The tone began to soften up as the story slowly became more emotional when the twins found out their sister was diagnosed with cancer. In Jamaica Kincaid s short story Girls , the author also uses repetition within the writing. As the narrator gives the girl a list of proper things a woman in their society should do, she occasionally states, like the slut (I know) you are bent on becoming... (326). The narrator is attempting to help the girl but also rebukes her at the same time. There are two sets of tones in this piece; the first being the narrator and the second tone being that of the girl. The speaker is perceived as being bossy, listing all these demands for the girl on how to be a suitable woman in society. The girl only

Not many people know this but many companies look through your social media before hiring you. I would want to know my employer personally before hiring them because at some point people on social media post about drug abuse and provocative images and comments. Your social media reflects off of you as of who you are as an intellectual person and not everyone on social media portrays themselves as a well spoken person. Colleges and universities are now going more indepth into looking at your resume. Why look at your resume when you are taught to only brag and talk about your positives on there when on social media you share your true thoughts and feelings. Although social media may have bad impacts on student lives there are some pros, for example for students the key to success is studying and most college students do their studying online. Getting to involved in social media is a bad habit because you portray only your appealing sides like i am a sixteen year old girl and i don t post a picture if there is a mess in the background or if i don t look appealing to one s eye. Although that is my opinion it is very like true because with social media it s like a game to see who has more followers or friends . It s all about a competition and whos better. MS-DRG System Analysis The MS DRG is a system that consists of numerical group numbers that range from 001 999 that was created and is overseen by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2008 for Medicare inpatient services as well as TRICARE beneficiaries. Each Medicare and TRICARE patient is assigned 1 MS DRG. The MS DRG, is then linked to a fixed payment amount based on the average treatment cost of patients in that group. The MS DRG system calculates the reimbursement payment based on the DRG that is assigned to the patient and on the 3 types of diagnosis/subgroups which are 1) major complication/comorbidity (MCC) 2.) Complication/comorbidity (CC) and 3. ) Non complication/comorbidity (w/o CC/MCC) and the patient s age. Now, how it is that a patient is assigned an MS DRG could be a little complicated. First, the patient must be assigned International Classification of Diseases 9 codes (ICD 9). • 21. Descartes s Idea Of God Descartes uses the trademark argument as a way to eventually prove that our clear and distinct ideas are true and real, but he follows a specifically in line methodology to get to this conclusion first. To begin his argument, he says simply says that he clearly has an idea of God, but he quickly segues this into the point that everything of existence, including his idea of God, has a cause. So if everything that exists has a cause, and it is understood that something cannot come from nothing, where does this idea come from? Descartes goes then to say that ideas of every kind must be of the same reality rooted in the cause of the idea, or where it came from, that is in the effect of the idea, which is the mindhaving the perception of the idea or thing; this conceptis independently called the Reality Principle. He says this more simply by portraying that if we know an idea, then the thing that caused the idea must always have the same reality to produce the idea itself; this concept, or argument, essentially proves God exists as the idea of God has no other way to come about other than through God himself. Descartes then proves that God is not a deceiver by showing that the beginning of anything must come from God, due, again, to the concept that ideas or objects cannot be consequent of nothingness or randomness, and that because truth is the base and beginning of all ideas and knowledge, deceit cannot be from God, as God is perfect and true and deceitfulness cannot exist

It is without a doubt a very loved sport, but that doesn t mean that the sport holds a perfect record of being clean and not being disliked. Fernando Torres goes down inside the box in the 89th minute, but the question is whether the ref has given a penalty (Martin Tyler Chelsea vs Liverpool). Flopping is one of the biggest debates on this concept, because if not identified it goes against fair play rules and moral standards. In the case above a penalty was awarded in the ending minutes of a match to declare one team the winner over the opposing side. This would not have been a problem if an actual foul was committed in the box, but when looking back at the footage you can see that the playerobviously flopped upon contact and no call should have been given at that time. FIFA, the leading soccer association, stands highly to support the enforcement of fair play and ethics in soccer, but there is only so much they can do and so much that has been done. Due to this dilemma, soccer as a sport receives a lot of heat on this and has been trying to cut down on unruly incidents that go against ethics and fair play. Flopping isn t the only thing that goes against fair play and ethics, there is a multitude of ethical and moral rules being broken. The ethics of soccer is a complicated topic to approach. First of all, soccer is a worldwide sport, so

Most of the sets depict an urban setting in which the audience can clearly see that the story takes place in a well developed city. As for the representation and perception of the stage, most sets were seen as abstract Some of the sets created entailed Doc s restaurant, The Playground, and Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, the relationship between the audiencespace and performers space were definitely separate: meaning the audience were strictly viewing the playwhile the performers were telling a story. Interestingly, the play at times had an amber lighting dispersed across the set to give off a warm tone or vibe symbolizing good feelings or nice moment. Some parts of the play were set in a dimmer background enticing that the play at times was very serious. In addition, the electronic used in IVC s West Side Story production amplified or added more symbolism to the play. The hearing of a siren suggested that the police were coming. During fight scenes, the auditory sound of a punch suggested that a someone literally got punched. When a building was lit with light and the surroundings were dark, it suggests that the current day of time was night time. During the rumble, the color red was shined specifically on Riff and Bernardo to symbolize that they were bleeding out and had died. Overall, the props in the play

Instead of coming across symmetry by geometry as someone today might think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from the early Egyptians and Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the impossibility to solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way. Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to the Babylonians, solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any clue about how the Babylonians came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came across is geometrically. Stewart shows how Euclid s Elements of Geometry introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in Elements in Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect and angle though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7 gon. It was Euclid s Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as squaring the circle with only a compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led mathematicians to change the way that they

  • 40. The Difference in Thoughts on Freedom of the Grand... Q1: The Grand Inquisitor According to The Grand Inquisitor, human beings do not want absolute freedom. The parable of Dostoevsky is told on a religious level, whereby the Inquisitor condemns Christ for offering human beings the choice between good and evil yet gives them a weak will to make such decisions. It is better to be happy and to have no choices, says the Inquisitor, since so many people will end up miserable and condemned as a result of their freedom. (Much like Adam and Eve seem inevitably destined to be cast out of the Garden of Eden by their own, freely willed choice to eat of the Tree of Knowledge). To a contemporary American, the idea that freedom could be negative is profoundly disturbing. The value of freedom is so dear to our secular culture that it is seen as a universal good. However, it can be observed that even within a relatively free society, people often seem desperate to constrict themselves with self made prisons. People remain in bad marriages and bad jobs, saying they have no choice, without exploring the limits of what choice means. Theoretically, one can walk away from a bad job and not look back, provided one is willing to accept the uncertainty of not knowing where the next paycheck will come from. But the anxiety of too many choices often paralyzes the individual so we prefer to say we have no choice. The idea of security, which The Grand Inquisitor says is what people really want, can cause many people to reject a happier, freer life.
