THANKS
Thanks to everyone for your willingness to do what’s necessary for the students of Mc Donogh 26.
The Journey Begins
We have embarked on a tremendous journey to impact the lives of students by providing them with a
quality education. Remember a key part is for us to have a clear mindset, method, and mission around our
daily work. What are you doing daily in your classroom to live out the belief that all children can learn. Do
you give up on the struggling student? Do you stick with this child saying you may not be there yet but
together we are going to get you there? Do you provide challenging work for all of your students? What
methods are you using to ensure all children learn? Are you incorporating small group instruction into your
daily routines? Have you shared our mission of increasing our school performance score by 20% across all
content areas. The students should have a sense of where we are headed and what we are expecting. Every
journey begins with a single step. We have taken that step and must continue to take steps toward reaching
our finish line. At Mc Donogh 26 all students will achieve proficiency or beyond.
Mastery Objectives
When planning for instruction all decisions should be focused around WHAT DO I WANT STUDENTS TO
KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF THIS LESSON. The learning focus is the key lever to
all other decisions made about how learning will occur and what evidence there will be that students
learned. I will be looking for evidence of this on weekly lesson plans.

This week’s shout goes to MRS. TAYLOR for going above and beyond to make the extra effort to meet
expectations. Mrs. Taylor rewrote one of her tests when see realized it was not in LEAP format. This extra
effort is very commendable. Thank Mrs. Taylor for making this extra effort. If you have a chance this week
let MRS. TAYLOR know how much you appreciate her as a member of our staff.
Each new day should bring us closer to the reality of achieving 20% growth in each

established this goal. Make sure they can state the school vision and our goal of 20%.
