Introduction: It is to tell the reader what the project is all
about and why it is worth taking time to conduct the project
Background: It tells the reader the specific reasons why the
project plan is a good one based on historical
data, projections of future needs and performance and the
current circumstances of the business
Strategy: the goal of strategy section is to outline all the
procedures to make the project successful. It helps to define
short term and long term goals for the project
Budgeting: it gives details about the financial
sources, expenditure involved and the cost involved in the
implementation of the project
Outcome: in this, project proposal clearly defines the
outcome that can be achieved through implementation of the
project


Section 1:- Project Summary:

Co-Investigator
Name if the institution’s initiating the project/
involved in project
And a Summary of

Section 2:- Origin of the Proposal
◦ The stimuli which prompted the preparation and
submission of the project proposal has to be identified. It
can be a seminar/workshop/ book/ research article/ or the
earlier project



Section 3:- Definition of the problem
◦ The straight forward definition of the problem has to be
given with clear details to understand the problem that the
project intends to solve/understand



Section 4:- Objectives
◦ The objective should be decided point by point keeping in
view the definition of the problem outlined earlier


Section 5:- International/ National Status
◦ Need to indicate the recent development in the pro[posed field of
work, both in the country and in other part of the world
◦ This should be in 2 separate parts, namely National and
International



Section 6:- Relevance of the Proposal in Indian context
◦ The importance of the project proposal should be brought to the
notice of the reader



Section 7:- Review of the available expertise within the
investigation group
Section 8:- Work Plan/ Methodology



A clear understanding of the project technique to be employed



Section 9:- Time Schedule



◦ The time schedule should be drawn. Special indication of
milestone will help in periodic evaluation of the progress of the
project


Section 10:- Budget
◦ Summary of the budget may be prepared after filling on
budget for manpower and budget for permanent equipment
◦ Should give realistic estimate of costs of different item
involved
◦ All costs should be expressed in Rupees only
1. Budget for manpower:- major part of the project is to be
carried out by the principal investigator and coinvestigator. Some additional scientific and technical
personnel may be asked by working full time on the
project
2. Justification for salaries and wages
3. Budget for other costs
4. Budget for permanent equipment







