The document provides guidance on how to write an effective project proposal. It outlines that a proposal should define the specific objectives and technical approach of the project, and answer whether the problem is important enough to justify the project. It recommends including components like an introduction, objectives, activities timeline, and evaluation plan. The objectives should be SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound). A strong proposal also includes a logic model and budget that clearly justify the requested resources. The proposal should demonstrate the project's relevance, feasibility, and be based on research rather than overly ambitious or lacking clear ideas.

Subject: Annual Budget
I would like to request the finance department to present to me the projected cost for the incoming year by 26th June 2017. It has always been a pleasure to receive the budget for the whole year earlier enough and this time I expect nothing less but an excellent presentation. However, due to many hiccups that usually emerge in the course of the year, I would appreciate if this time the budget is broken down on a quarterly basis. I prefer this way as it will help us minimize the risk and ballooning of unexpected cost. The costs must be presented in our normal PowerPoint format, and it should be consistent with general accepted accounting principle (GAAP).
Due to the many projects that the company has this time around, the budget presented should try and minimize the administrative expense to avoid a scenario where the company operates with borrowed cash. The payroll, accounting, and auditing fee must be minimized so that it is used elsewhere. There are also many uncertainties that we expect this time as a result of the real estate market. As a result, this has put us in a position where we cannot make critical decisions at this time. However, this should not prevent us from to speculating and coming up with reasonable figures that can be used as assumed values.
As a way of trying to reduce the recurrent expenditure and increase the investment capital, the company expects something different from the previous budget. The repair and maintenance cost, as well as the utility cost, must be minimized as possible. Capital consideration in budgeting is very imperative as you all know and I expect our business analysts to use two methods of analysis namely qualitative and quantitative method. These are helpful in forecasting the financial projection or growth. For instance, the quantitative methods usually use the expert factor and at some point the human element in budget analysis. The approach is normally based on data and avoids the guesses and perception of people. It will help us in predicting the variables like insurance expenses and contract expenses product, the prices and other things. Some of the quantitative methods include payback, net present value and the average rate of return.
However, from my knowledge and experience, some benefits of capital investment cannot be assessed in monetary values. It is therefore essential for the finance department to also consider qualitative analysis since the use of quantitative analysis can give to misleading information thus making the business to reject a worthy proje ...
Evaluating community projects
These guidelines were initially developed as part of the JRF Neighbourhood Programme. This programme is made up of 20 community or voluntary organisations all wanting to exercise a more strategic influence in their neighbourhood. The guidelines were originally written to help these organisations evaluate their work. They provide step-by-step advice on how to evaluate a community project which will be of interest to a wider audience.
What is evaluation?
Put simply, evaluation by members of a project or organisation will help people to learn from their day-to-day work. It can be used by a group of people, or by individuals working alone. It assesses the effectiveness of a piece of work, a project or a programme. It can also highlight whether your project is moving steadily and successfully towards achieving what it set out to do, or whether it is moving in a different direction. You can then celebrate and build on successes as well as learn from what has not worked so well.
Why evaluate?
Although evaluation may seem like an unnecessary additional task if you are already short of time and resources, it can save you both time and resources by keeping participants focused on, and working towards, the ultimate goal of the project. If necessary, it can refocus activity away from unproductive or unnecessary work.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

Project
Proposal
THURSDAY, MAY 5, 2016
2. Contents
What is a project proposal?
Why write a project proposal?
Components of a project proposal
Dos and Don’ts in proposal writing
3. What is a Project Proposal?
Project proposals present a project by outlining:
The specific objectives of the project.
The technical approach to be used in solving the
problem or developing the product
The anticipated results of the project
Project proposals should answer the following
questions:
Is the problem sufficiently important to justify money,
time and effort?
Is the project well defined and realistic?
Have you outlined a sound approach, including your
ability to perform the tasks?
4. A project proposal can be a
selling document written to:
Influence decision-makers.
Convince them to commit time, money or resources in support
of a specific project.
A winning proposal addresses an important question with an
innovative idea, is well expressed with a clear indication of
methods for pursuing the idea, evaluates the findings, and
makes them known to all who need to know.
5. Why Write a Project Proposal?
To inform people or organizations of a project that you would
like to implement. A project proposal is much like a business
plan.
To apply for a grant.
To ask for other resources or support from another
organization.
To explore the causes of a problem and clearly define next steps
in solving that problem.

8. Introduction
The historical antecedents of the problem and the current
situation: Include results or findings of related preliminary studies
related to the problem, either national or international.
Description of the problem: Include the description of the current
situation and how it got to be that way.
Justification of the Intervention: Clearly define the proposed
intervention and justify why this intervention is the best solution to
the management problem.
9. Objectives
Objectives signify the result that you intend to achieve
through the intervention. They should directly address the
problem mentioned in the problem statement.
Objectives should be SMART:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-bound
10. Using the SMART Process
Specific. Use Specific rather than generalized language; clearly state the
issue, the target group, the time and place of the program.
Measureable. Be clear in the objective about what will be changed and by
how much. Setting this clearly at the start makes it easier to evaluate
Achievable. Be realistic about what the program can achieve in terms of the
scale/scope of what is being done, the time and resources available.
Relevant. Objectives need to relate to and be relevant to the goals.
Remember objectives are the building blocks / steps toward meeting the
goals.
Time Specific. Be clear in the objectives about the timeframe in which the
program / activities, as well as expected changes, will take place
11. Intervention Design and Strategy
Describe the intervention, explaining what you propose to do
to respond to the problem. It is important to remember that the
proposed intervention leads to the objectives that were initially
proposed.
Intervention design and strategy should be research based.
12. Activities and Timeline
Specify:
Who will do them
When they will be done
How they will be
accomplished
Why you chose this
approach
How long each activity will
take
Activities includes specific
action items under the
intervention design.
All activities should be linked to
the objectives.
14. Budget Strategy
Ask for what you need to do the work.
Justify requests that are significant or out of the
ordinary.
Develop a budget explanation to delineate clearly
how budget figures were computed.
15. Evaluation Indicators
Clear objectives and activities lead to an evaluation
plan – how are you going to know you
accomplished what you set out to do?
Choose indicators that will tell you whether or not
you achieved your goal and met its objectives.
16. Logic Models
A Logic Model is a widely used tool that presents specific
details of program inputs, activities and outcomes, and shows
generally how they are related.
Logic Models can be very helpful in organizing and
summarizing your information.
