The document discusses a research paper about the perceptions of Ushuluddin faculty lecturers from several Indonesian universities (UIN Jakarta, UIN Banda Aceh, UIN North Sumatra, UIN Suska) regarding Soekarno's concept of nationalism. It provides background on Soekarno and his role in Indonesia's independence movement. The study found that the lecturers initially agreed with Soekarno's nationalism but later felt it was idealistic and difficult to implement properly given changing political conditions. The paper aims to explore understanding of nationalism in light of current issues threatening national unity.
Cultural continuity, Indigenous identity, language and education matters: A c...AJHSSR Journal
A history of public policies in Japan and Aotearoa New Zealand reveals similar effects on
cultural continuity, Indigenous identity, language and education matters for both Indigenous Ainu and Māori. In
both cases, such policies battered the identity and pride of their Indigenous people, took away their homelands,
endangered the survival of their languages, instigating significant grief over many generations. For decades, both
the Japanese and the New Zealand mainstream public remained largely unaware of the debilitating effect of
public policies on Indigenous language, cultural values and traditional ways of living. This article describes the
introduction of public policies which impacted heavily on education pathways and language survival for Ainu
and Māori, in each case resulting in cultural continuity crunch points. Consequences of these policies are
evaluated; this research advocates for more non-Indigenous researchers to embrace education research which
encourages social justice, reconciliation and restoration of Indigenous well-being and cultural rights.

Digitization of Documentary Heritage Collections in Indic Language: Comparati...Anup Kumar Das
Abstract
Documentary heritage collections in Indic languages have been soul of indigenous digital libraries in South Asia. Some of the digital preservation initiatives in India received global acceptance are namely, Digital Library of India, Panjab Digital Library, Kalasampada Digital Library
– Resource for Indian Cultural Heritage, National Databank on Indian Art and Culture, Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, and National Mission for Manuscripts, due to uniqueness in their collections and approaches. These
projects also help in preserving socio-linguistically diverse cultural contents and achieving a sense of unity while online accessing using common platforms. This paper evaluates enrichment of collections and effectiveness of online platforms of five major digital library initiatives in India.

This article reads contemporary popular publications in Indonesia on the topic of Indonesian–Malaysian relations. It looks at how Indonesia perceives Malaysia and the function of that perception in relation to Indonesian national identity. The article also looks at how Indonesian perceptions of Malaysia were discussed during the revolutionary period by reading the speeches held at the constitutional meeting (BPUPKI) and the Konfrontasi period, reading the speeches written by Sukarno and the letter of Pan-Malay leader exiled in Indonesia, Ibrahim Yaacob. The article then compares the ideas espoused by Sukarno, Yaacob and others in the past and the arguments presented in the present day concerning Malaysia. A preliminary conclusion is reached that geopolitical anxiety and not kinship is a more important factor in how contemporary Indonesia sees Malaysia.

Islam Nusantara: Religion Dialectic and Cultural for Pluralism-Democratic Soc...Ali Murfi
Seeing the face of Islamic nowadays, Islam Nusantara is very needed, because its characteristic proposes solution in moderate ways, not right or left extreme, always balance, inclusive, tolerance, can live in harmonization with other religion followers and can accept the democracy well. Islam Nusantara is delivered through in friendly, harmonize and respectful way, so that it does not suppress the culture. Islam Nusantara is neither a new religion nor a new school, but Islam Nusantara is the face of Islam in Southeast Asia. The teachings of Islam are implemented in a society in which the mental and character are influenced by the structure of the islands. Islam Nusantara's characteristic can be formulated in operational form as the basic of life for the pluralism and nationality society so that it can be defined as a process of Islam Nusantara actualization through local wisdom. In the level of practice, it can be done by inserting Islam Nusantara's values, not only in knowledge's source and structure but also in society's morality. Those values are moderate, tolerance, balance and inclusive.
JULIUS NYERERE’S SOCIAL THOUGHT ON HUMAN WORK IN THE AGE OF AUTOMATION TECHNO...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: This article examines the relevance of Julius Nyerere‟s social thought in protecting work as an
economic human right in the age of automation technology. The application of automation technologies in
various sectors such as industry, agriculture, health and construction has increasingly replaced human work and
thus making workers redundant and jobless resulting in the creation and widening of socio-economic
inequalities. Nyereres‟ social thought advocates for the centrality of the human person in all sectors. Nyerere
argued that authentic development means people (maendeleo bora niwatu) and work is the measure of dignity
(Kazinikipimo cha utu).1 Nyerere‟s social thought is based on the principles of human dignity and equality, the
common good, preferential option for the marginalized, and democratic participation of each and everyone in
socio-economic and political issues. In defence of these social principles, Nyerere proposed and argued for a
work ethic that interprets work as the measure of human dignity, respect and self-reliance.

ETHNIC ASSERTIONS AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION IN NORTHEAST INDIA: AN ANALYTICAL PERS...IAEME Publication
North -East India has been occupying a unique position in Indian politics. This multi ethnic society comprises the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and the Himalayan State of Sikkim. North East India, the entire region is an area which is a house of many internal strife and conflicts. Pending border disputes, insurgencies and terrorist problems, resources sharing disputes are some common problems which have made this region quite turbulent. North East India is home to large number of ethnic groups who came from different directions at different historical times. These groups belong to different racial stocks, speak different languages and have varied socio-cultural traditions. However the alienation of ethnic people in different socio-economic and political sphere led to the emergence of ethnic assertion and ethnic conflict in northeastern region. An ethnic group is a group, whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of common language, common culture, common religion and an ideology that stresses common heritage or endogamy. Ethnic group within a diverse society may vary from one another in terms of numerical strengths, political inclination, socio economic connections, impact of national affairs and communal cohesion. This relationship face setback when there is the essence of distrust, disagreement, contest and inharmoniousness. The tension of ethnic conflict emerged through the feeling of deprivations and unreturned expectations towards communities concerned. This insight is normally associated with the feelings of political, social, economic and cultural insecurities and apathy. Unlike other studies on ethnicity and extremism, the present article tries to understand ethnic assertions in northeast India in the context of rampant social exclusion taking place in the region.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
