Evaluationofmy PPE exam in media
In thisevaluation,my personalreviewswill be more on my pre-production evaluation,genreanalysis
of music video projectand my textualanalysisof postmodern media.Significantsectionson theexam
I felt quite confidentin,specifically on 1b (genreanalysisof musicvideo) in comparison to question 2
whereknowledgeof differentpostmodern filmsand musicvideoswererequired in orderto makea
detailed textualanalysis.
Based on the ideas of our pre-production decisionsIwasableto show a good understanding of the
question.Ibelieve I gavea rangeof ideasto show thedevelopmentof using and discarding certain
ideaswithin mise-en-scene,locations,editing techniques,audiencesand many more.Iwasableto
give examplesof practicalwork(mood board annotations)thatwedoneinto the question, this
showed howasa group we could gatherimagesand makefurtherannotationstowardsourmusic
video idea. Whereas,in the question Ibelieve I could improveby showcasing my knowledgeon
terminology whereappropriate.Thiswould revealto the examinerthatI amable to understand
vocabulary in relation to media.
Furthermore,in question 1b I believed I performed mostwellout of the three questions,thisis dueto
having a clear understanding of theindie-rockgenreand linking it backto our own soundtrack“The
Fray- You found me”.With this question it waseasier to link backto our pre-production decisionsas
there were so many clear aspectson the indie-rocktheme including:costume,facialexpressions,
camera angles/movement,propsoreven editing structures.Even though Ifelt quite confidentwith
this question Istill believe thatfurtherdevelopmentcould havebeen madeto improveyet again to
fuseterminology into my answer.Thiswould show theexaminerthatI havean advanced knowledge
and understanding withmedia in termsof genre.
Lastly,the final question 2 is where I struggled mostin,this wasdue to lack of examplesshowing a
postmodern featurein a music video or film. Despite the factI found it mostchallenging thereare
fewpointsmadewhere it showed my understanding to thequestion thisincludesthe PEE formatof
each postmodern scene.Forexamplein ‘They live’ paragraph Iwasableto describe the sceneclearly
with camera angles,editing techniquesand visualeffects.With this question to improvefurtherI can
also expand my terminology and includeit when relevant,this would display the ability of
understanding theconceptof postmodernismwith supported vocabulary.

Evaluationofmy PPE exam in media In thisevaluation,my personalreviewswill be more on my pre-production evaluation,genreanalysis of music video projectand my textualanalysisof postmodern media.Significantsectionson theexam I felt quite confidentin,specifically on 1b (genreanalysisof musicvideo) in comparison to question 2 whereknowledgeof differentpostmodern filmsand musicvideoswererequired in orderto makea detailed textualanalysis. Based on the ideas of our pre-production decisionsIwasableto show a good understanding of the question.Ibelieve I gavea rangeof ideasto show thedevelopmentof using and discarding certain ideaswithin mise-en-scene,locations,editing techniques,audiencesand many more.Iwasableto give examplesof practicalwork(mood board annotations)thatwedoneinto the question, this showed howasa group we could gatherimagesand makefurtherannotationstowardsourmusic video idea. Whereas,in the question Ibelieve I could improveby showcasing my knowledgeon terminology whereappropriate.Thiswould revealto the examinerthatI amable to understand vocabulary in relation to media. Furthermore,in question 1b I believed I performed mostwellout of the three questions,thisis dueto having a clear understanding of theindie-rockgenreand linking it backto our own soundtrack“The Fray- You found me”.With this question it waseasier to link backto our pre-production decisionsas there were so many clear aspectson the indie-rocktheme including:costume,facialexpressions, camera angles/movement,propsoreven editing structures.Even though Ifelt quite confidentwith this question Istill believe thatfurtherdevelopmentcould havebeen madeto improveyet again to fuseterminology into my answer.Thiswould show theexaminerthatI havean advanced knowledge and understanding withmedia in termsof genre. Lastly,the final question 2 is where I struggled mostin,this wasdue to lack of examplesshowing a postmodern featurein a music video or film. Despite the factI found it mostchallenging thereare fewpointsmadewhere it showed my understanding to thequestion thisincludesthe PEE formatof each postmodern scene.Forexamplein ‘They live’ paragraph Iwasableto describe the sceneclearly with camera angles,editing techniquesand visualeffects.With this question to improvefurtherI can also expand my terminology and includeit when relevant,this would display the ability of understanding theconceptof postmodernismwith supported vocabulary.
