Milpa Agriculture Research Paper
Mayan civilization underwent massive developments in agriculture and within their society.
According to historian Sylvanus Griswold Morley, Maya Maize agricultural practices have remained
the same as they were over three thousand years ago. (Morley 128) A uncomplicated process of felling
the forest, burning dried trees and bushes, planting, and switching up the spots of the cornfields every
few years. This system is known as the milpa agriculture, pulled from the Aztec word for cornfield.
Agricultural tools were fire hardened, the Maya xul, a pointed planting stick, the baat, a stone axe,
chim, a fiber bag for carrying the seed corn. At first, they used sticks to punch holes into the ground,
but progressively obtained more advanced farming techniques. Their main crops they grew were
maize (corn), beans, squash, avocados, chili peppers, pineapples, papayas, and cocoa, which was used

Maya milpa agriculture can be separated into eleven different stages: locating the field, the selection
of a plot of ground for the cornfield is a crucial step. The milpero, or corn farmer, spends a whole day
observantly searching for the precise type of soil. (Morley 129) Felling the forest and bushes, the
milpero starts to fell the bush after sunrise has occurred and would continue until early afternoon.
Felling the trees and bushes would consume a lengthy period of time and energy. (Morley 131)
Burning the dried bushes, the felled bush would normally be burned in March or April, after the hot
days of February and March have passed. The cornfield is set ablaze when the wind is blowing strong
enough, in order to thoroughly burn the cornfield. (Morley 132) Fencing the field was not required in
ancient Mayan times because the domestication of animals had not happened. Planting the field,
planting would occur right after the first rains, which the Maya believed it would fall on the Day of

Essay On Community Engagement
Abstract
Community engagement is the process by which the community benefits organization and individual
to get the whole organization to involved in whatever they doing. According to Rosie Niven, 2013
stated that community engagement is about creating the permanent relationship for the purpose of the
community. It is also by applying a positive and exiting collective vision for the community in order
to make their area a better place to live in. the important goal here is to actively engage the individual
with the same views and the individual must an enthusiasm, interest and have the passion for what
they do. The engager needs to understand the significance and purpose or motive of their involvement
in order for the community to fully engage in any activities. It must be excited and fun even if it
sounds boring. The individual is capable and has the power to amended the society if the program
becomes effectual.
McCauley Convent Sisters of Mercy is considered woman catholic faith based organizations that serve
the needy, people who are poor. They work together with unity to pray and advocate for the
vulnerable. The inspired founder of McCauley was Catharine McCauley. According Fritz 2015

that is held by a religious congregation, a nonprofit organization which is founded by a religious
congregation or board partners of the religiously motivated organization.

How Is Japanese Internment Justified
Japanese Internment
Executive Order 9066 was issued on February 19, 1942, by President Roosevelt, two months after the
attack on Pearl Harbor. It declared that any and all persons could be detained and taken off of the West
Coast due to military necessity. Executive Order 9066 was established because on December 7, 1941,
Japan struck a United States Naval Base in Honolulu, Hawaii killing 2,043 Americans and injuring
1,000 more American citizens. They struck the United States with bombs trying to destroy their
battleships and their army. One day after the attack, the United States declared war on the Japanese
Empire. Immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the internment of Japanese Americans was
justified because the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The United States had just been infiltrated by Japanese forces causing an attack on Pearl Harbor,
Hawaii and they were in a state of emergency. The United States was worried that Japanese American
citizens would be loyal to their descendant country and they did not want anyone to be able to further
sabotage the United States in World War II. Leland Ward, a governmental representative for
California, argued that the internment was justified in January of 1942, To prevent any fifth column
activity...all Japanese, whether citizens or not, be placed in inland concentration camps (Document A).
The government wanted to prevent spying, or fifth column activity, from occurring while the United
States was in a fragile state. This was for the well being of the country because if the United States
took a chance on spies and sabotage, it could lead to further destruction. In conclusion, the internment
was justified because the United States could not afford another attack on one of their military

Signs Life In The Usa Analysis
When you think about technological progress chances are you think about your own life becoming
more convenient. A fire was easier to start with a chunk of flint than rubbing two sticks together, and
once it was discovered it was utilized out of convenience. Convenience has always driven innovation,
so it s not an unrealistic assumption to expect a more convenient life in the future. It s not all sunshine
and rainbows though, as convenience means work transferred to machines, which means less work for
people. In the past this has meant a transfer in the job market, old careers being replaced with new
ones, and fields opening up which did not exist before. With the automation possible today we are
seeing an exponential trend of automation, with more jobs being replaced by machines than are being

In Sonia Maasik and Jack Solomon s anthology Signs of Life in the USA, they include an essay by
Jenkins, in which he introduces his black box fallacy, stating that humanity will always look for a
singular device that will accomplish virtually every task. Jenkins uses such examples as smartphones
to illustrate the natural pursuit to converge all our tasks onto one device (Jenkins 427). Jenkins argues
that this is an impossibility, and that as new technology is developed old technology must adapt. While
we may never quite reach Jenkin s black box we can come close, as demonstrated by the very example
he uses. A smartphone may be replaced by a device even more useful someday, but in the present
exists as an invaluable communication device. Even if society offers resistance at first, technologies
such as 3D printing and APM machines will force economic reform, and if not those specific
technologies it will be something in the more distant future, with even more drastic

Linear Regressions
This project set out to determine the accuracies of predicting movie box office revenue and classifying
the success. Using various techniques and data from reputable movie sites, we were able to generate
numerous prediction and classification models with their own accuracies attached. We were guided by
what previous literature have covered on the two topics we wanted to investigate. The literature
review gave us a clear pathway to follow in terms of where to collect data, what type of data to use,
what techniques and methods work best and what type of results to expect. There were a few movie
sites that were used that were used regularly by researchers. The type of data that the researchers
collected were wither movie features or social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We decided to keep movies in the dataset that were English and from the USA. We also wanted to
only include movies that were released in USA and abroad. The data we did not need was filtered out
and the data features that were not pre release were removed. When it came to predicting the
worldwide box office revenue, we wanted to use linear regression and SVM. This was because many
researchers had used these techniques. When using linear regression we realised that our data needed
transforming as the linear regression assumptions were violated. The Box Cox transform we used
transformed our dependent variables and worked well. The assumptions of the linear regression were
met. The forward selection procedure used helped identify which variables were good predictors in the
models. Linear regression has certain assumptions, so in order to not violate those assumptions, it is
crucial to pick the best variables for the model. The best model we found using this procedure met all
the assumptions and gave good prediction accuracies. The results obtained from the linear regression
and SVM models indicated that the accuracies all of the models were very high. Linear regression and
SVM achieved similar results with SVM just slightly achieving better accuracy rates As we were
predicting box office revenue using pre release data only, the accuracies of 80% plus were a good
surprise. Transforming the worldwide box office revenue

Types Of Cell Division First Go Through Interphase Essay
Cell division
Both types of cell division first go through interphase which has three stages. The cell grows in the G1
stage. It copies all of its chromosomes during the S phase, the two copies of the chromosomes are held
together by the centromere resulting in an X shape. The last stage is preparing for division which is
called G2 phase. After this is starts to divide in either mitosis or meiosis.
Mitosis the typical process of nuclear division in eukaryotic cell. ... results in two identical daughter
nuclei of identical genetic constitution to the parent cell. (Henderson s dictionary of biology, 2008)
Mitosis happens in five steps and results in two daughter cells. This process is used in most cells apart
from in the production of gambits. The five stages are prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase,
and telophase. However, these stages do overlap a bit.
Prophase is the first stage and this tends to occur before any obvious chromosome movement happens.
A lot does happen but it is just hard to see. The chromosomes condense into chromatids by folding up.
2 chromatids joined by a centromere is a chromosome. Two proteins help in sorting and packing the
chromatids up during prophase these are topoisomerase ll (part of nuclear scaffolding and uses an ATP
for DNA decatenation) and condensin (involved in stabilizing loop formation in chromatin). During
this stage the microtubule network is reorganized, by the cytosolic microtubules breaking down and

Data Management And Information Systems
Introduction
With 3.2 billion internet users [1] and 6.4 billion internet connected devices by 2016 [2],
unprecedented amount of data is being generated and process daily and increasing every year. The
advent of web 2.0 has fueled the growth and creation of new and more complex types of data which
creates a natural demand to analyze new data sources in order to gain knowledge. This new data
volume and complexity of the data is being called Big Data, famously characterised by Volume,
Variety and Velocity; has created data management and processing challenges due to technological
limitations, efficiency or cost to store and process in a timely fashion. The large volume and complex
data is unable to be handled and/or processed by most current information systems in a timely manner
and the traditional data mining and analytics methods developed for a centralized data systems may
not be practical for big data.
The paper provides background and related literature on the Big Data, studies the concept from
Relational Database to current NoSQL database which have been fueled by the growth Big Data and
importance of managing it. And surveys the Big Data challenges from the perspective of its
characteristics Volume, Variety and Velocity and attempts to study how those challenges can be
addressed.
This is where NoSQL systems have been created to solve the data management challenges posed by
Big Data. NoSQL is not a single system that can solve every single Big Data problem

Essay on Standards and Perceptions of Male Bearty...
Throughout history there have been many changes in the standards and perceptions of male beauty in
Western culture. The portrayal of the male form throughout time, in art and sculpture, reflects the
culture s morals, values, and beliefs, among other things. In paintings and sculptures, artists depict the
qualities in men that are important to the time period of their works. Perceptions of male beauty and
their image can also represent a person s social status in society, such as being noble, rich, or both.
The male themes seen throughout art include heroes, the supernatural, biblical figures, and idealized
bodies, to name a few. Some of the time periods that illustrate the importance of male beauty and
image are the Baroque period, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bodies of these men show the importance Neoclassic society placed on portraying the ideal male
body from Greece. The male figures have taut muscles and determined gazes and the repetition of the
male form symbolizes their unity and seriousness (Bluffington.edu). The men in this painting also
appear statue like, another characteristic of the Neoclassic male image. Transitioning from Baroque to
Neoclassicism, the male form went from portraying the average, everyday male to focusing more on
showing the strength and heroism of men.
Continuing on after the Neoclassical period one can continue to see the male image in art evolve as
well as societies changing standards and perceptions in the Romantic era. Romanticism rejected the
ideals of Neoclassicism and the Enlightenment. Western culture began to shy away from the order and
reason of classical beliefs and became interested in natures unruliness, natural goodness of mankind,
and emotional expression. Romanticism was also triggered by changes in science. In paintings, artists
of Romanticism used a more expressive and individualistic style as opposed to the idealized image of
Neoclassicism to portray their men. In art and literature, Romanticism typically refers to the late 18th
century and the 19th Century (reviewpainting.com)
A romantic painting to analyze is Friedrich s Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog (1818). This painting
shows the male figure alone in

Essay on Live Evaluation of 39 Steps
Evaluation of a live performance:
The performance I went to see was The 39 Steps on the 25th of March, at the Criterion Theatre in
London, it s produced by Gaumont British.
The original 39 steps was an action spy novel written by John Buchan in 1915. Then Alfred Hitchcock
produced a film, then the play was written and when I first saw the play it was a bit of a shock seeing
as the book and film are set as thrillers and the play is very much a comedy.
The play is set in 1914 and Europe is on the brink of war. The main protagonist Richard Hannay is
bored with life, until he runs into a mysterious German woman names Annabella Schmidt at the
theatre. Richard then takes the woman home with him and she reveals that she is tracking down ...

This I thought was a very different, but clever way of expressing large scenes. Occasionally a follow
spot was used to highlight some parts of the of the play for comical effect. At the beginning Richard is
asked to look out the window by Annabella and when he does two actors run on stage with a lamp
post and as soon as they are on the spot light is on and when they leave it s off again, they did this to
give a sense of perspective from the window to the street and also to take the mick out of classic
thrillers.
The set and props where very compact and were built and moved on and off by the cast because they
are designed to be transferred by one person. The props where all cleverly done, for instance they
made a bridge out of three ladders, a train out of four boxes and a house from just one door. The door I
thought was one of the best props used because the cast managed to make a fairly small stage appear
huge just by moving the door and pretending each time that it was a new room every time they passed
through it. At one point in the play Richard and Pamela ask the scottish landlords for a sandwich and
they come back with a loaf of bread cut in two with one slice of lettuce in the middle, this was such a
simple idea but made a big deal and a laugh out of it
The rhythm of the production was extremely fast paced due to the size of the cast and comedy. The
costumes helped speeding up the pace with changes

What Is Macarthur s Last Speech
General MacArthur was station on the Philippine islands during the start of WWII. He commanded all
of the U.S troops on the island and had his command center stationed on Corregidor (Biography.com,
2012). On this island he watched as the Japanese army invaded the Philippines. Outnumbered and
outgunned, MacArthur was forced to retreat to Australia. When he arrived in Australia he made his I
shall return speech. In this speech he promised that he would return to the Philippines and force the
Japanese off the islands. After a couple of years he finally gained enough troops to return to the
Philippines. Once he was on the island he gave his I have returned speech (Breuer, 2001). Reasons for
Going Back The general consensus is that MacArthur went back because of his father s past, his
personal ego, or because of his national duty. Many biographers or historians can agree that he went
back for at least one of these reasons. Geoffrey Perret said MacArthur saw his return to the Philippines
as a way of redeeming American national pride and honor. And his own pride and honor (PBS, 2012).
If this is true then we must ask ourselves why MacArthur s first speech back on the island was
directed at the Philippines. The first reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

famous Bataan death march, where thousands of American POWs were tortured and killed by the
Japanese army. An example was in the book Ghost Soldiers. In this book it describes an event where
the American POWs were led into air raid shelters and then burned alive by the Japanese (Sides,
2001). MacArthur would have heard about this and all he could do was wait till he had

Essay about Napoleon I
Napoleon I
Napoleon s life was a very interesting one. Starting a poor boy, hated by most, rising to rule a huge
empire, and then finally being destroyed by his own arrogance and ending his life humbled,
remembering what he had doe, and leaving it all in his memoirs for the world to read.
Napoleon was born in 1769, on the Island of Corsica. His parents, Carlo and
Letizia Bonaparte, were poor nobles. When Napoleon was just 10 years old, his father helped to get
him a mathematical scholarship to a military school at
Brienne. In the school, Napoleon was hated and considered a foreigner. With no friends, Napoleon

He then went further into Italy, pushing into the Lombardy region. He took the stronghold at
Mantua after a long siege, and was heading toward Venice with little resistance when the Austrians
surrendered, and Napoleon negotiated the treaty of Campo
Formio, which ended what is now called the war of the first coalition. While in
Italy, Napoleon took large amounts of money and art to bring to France. When
Napoleon returned from Italy, it was suggested that he invade England. Instead, he decided to invade
British owned Egypt. After sneaking by the British navy,
Napoleon landed in Egypt, and quickly carried out the occupation. While
Napoleon as inland, the British destroyed the French fleet, leaving Napoleon stuck in Egypt.
In early 1799, the Ottoman empire declared war on France. To stop the
Ottoman s from invading Egypt, Napoleon invaded Syria, but was turned back by Turkish troops. By
mid 1799, the second coalition (formed by the
Ottoman s and Austrians) were defeating French forces in Europe, so Napoleon decided to return to
France. When Napoleon arrived in Paris, he began a conspiracy to overthrow the government. He
succeeded, and created a new government called the consulate, of which Napoleon became the first
consul. As consul, Napoleon made many good changes in France. He created the Napoleonic code,
which set up a complex code of civil law in the nation. He worked with the Pope to reestablish the
Roman Catholic faith

The And Criminal Cases Evidence
In both civil and criminal cases evidence is used in order to prove a particular fact about a case.
Evidence can either be direct or circumstantial. Direct evidence establishes a particular fact without
the need to make an inference where circumstantial evidence an inference is needed to be made in
order to connect the evidence to a particular fact of the case.
Definition
Circumstantial evidence is defined as evidence which may allow a judge or jury to deduce a certain
fact from other facts in which have been proven. Meaning, the witness or whoever is giving the
evidence is describing circumstances to which they observed. It is indirect evidence, from which then
the trier of fact, that could either be the judge or the jury depending on the type of court the matter is
being addressed in, can logically infer the existence of the material fact. From these definitions, it is
clear that circumstantial evidence is not straightforward. There is a chain of facts that need to be
followed so that a logical conclusion from a dispute between parties can be made when there is no
direct evidence. Due to the fact that there is no direct evidence, the trier of fact must then make a
logical jump or inference to reach their conclusions about the evidence that has been brought forth.
Circumstantial evidence relies heavily on the use of inference to connect the facts to the conclusion.
Meaning, a conclusion is being reached just on the circumstantial evidence that is being brought forth

Prior to reading the article I had an idea of what shingles was, and heard some information regarding

that shingles is a viral infection caused by the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus, which is
actually the same virus that produces chickenpox that produces a painful skin rash within the host.
Since shingles is a part of the herpes family it usually appears as a strip of blisters anywhere on the

All jobs need some sort of qualifications to work at that specific job. As a programmer, the person
may not go very far if they only have a high school degree. Most employers require programmers to
have at least a bachelor s degree (Education Portal). Some higher ranking jobs may even require a
master s degree (Education Portal). Some qualifications may be as simple as having a certain amount
of experience (Education Portal). With an advanced degree and certain knowledge, a programmer
could become a software engineer (Education Portal). Certain employers and jobs may want the
programmer to have great technical skills, and programming needs in the businesses (Education

Other than going to school and getting a degree, employers may want more experience and more skills
then the programmer may have. During college the programmer most likely spent an abundant amount
of time programming for class and maybe some of their own projects. The programmer may get an

The Religion Of The Nation Of Israel
Abram, a pagan gentile called from a pagan land and culture, became the patriarch of the Nation of
Israel. Moreover, through God s covenant with him his numerous descendants inherited Palestine and
from them came Messiah, the blessing to all peoples on earth. Understanding the culture of Ur of the
Chaldeans, Abram s place of origin, requires a determination of where this area was located and
analyzing archaeological discoveries of that area in conjunction with other disciplines of biblical
study.
About 1800 B.C. Abram s father, Terah, took his family and left Ur for Canaan but settled in Haran
where Terah died. Haran was located in the southern part of modern day Turkey. After his father s
death, Abram was called by God to continue his journey to the land of Canaan and he was called from,
Ur of the Chaldeans. Abraham s call from this pagan culture further affirms that God is both merciful
and gracious as well as sovereign over the affairs of mankind.
Ur of the Chaldeans is the first reference to the city in the biblical narrative with regards to Abram s
city of origin. Abram s brother, Haran, died in Ur before Terah, Abram s and Haran s father, took the
family to the city of Haran, a well known stop along trade routes in Mesopotamia. The exact location
of where the ancient city of Ur was located is debatable.
Prior to an 1849 excavation by Sir. W.K. Loftus of a site located in modern day southern Iraq, most
scholars placed Ur in the north based on the biblical narrative

neither situation. Due to the growing controversy, Senator Mark Leno has proposed an amendment to

Dancers At West Side Dance Studio
West Side Dance Studio is a dance studio in Pembroke Pines, Florida. I used to dance in that studio for
four years. Out of the four years, the most important concept I learned is that dancers do not use their
words to express emotion, they use their body. The teachers at West Side Dance Studio always express
how important it is to tell a story with our bodies. That is why we dance, to express emotion and tell a
story to our audience when performing and even in class. Dancers at West Side Dance Studio use body
language to accomplish their goal of expressing emotion and telling a story to the audience.
My purpose for writing this research paper is to explain how dancers at West Side Dance Studio use
body movements as language to express ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will have an insight on how this discourse community functions and their use of lexis, use of
specific terms. As the reader will see later on the essay, dancers at this community use french
vocabulary. Ballet vocabulary is in French so when dancers in this community are in ballet class, they
use french terminology. In addition to the interviews, I will use personal experience to show how West
Side Dance Studio accomplishes its goals.
Body language is important in the dance community, especially at West Side Dance Studio. By
definition, body language is a means of communicating meaning nonverbally through gestures,
posture, and movements. Some definitions also include facial expressions (Rholetter). Dancers use
gestures, posture, movements, and facial expressions all the time to communicate with each other.
When performing especially, a dancer communicates through gestures and facial expressions. West
Side Dance Studio would often be asked to perform in carnivals. The studio s owner, which also
happened to be one my teachers, thought the dancers should perform at this carnivals and use them as
practice for our performance facial expressions. The more we danced at carnivals, the more chances
we got to practice how we would communicate on stage when performing the dance recitals. In a

How Did The Great Awakening Impact On Colonial Society
The movement of the Enlightenment period and the Great Awakening period had a profound impact
on American colonial society. As a result, the Enlightenment movement and the Great Awakening
movement challenged and changed religious, secular, and education ideologies that ushered in a new
era in American colonial society while giving birth to a social and religious renaissance in the
American colonies. The Enlightenment movement was a social movement that placed a highly
valuable emphasis on one s capacity for reasoning, and regarded it as the pinnacle of human success.
Significantly, the Enlightenment movement instigated both harmony and resistance amongst the
religious community; thus, giving rise to prominent religious leaders and spiritual thinkers who
espoused their views on the subject. Notably, the most famous Enlightenment thinkers were Benjamin
franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Paine. However, religious leaders such as Cotton Mayer,
John Winthrop, William Bradford, and Edward Johnson also espoused ideas on the centrality of God

The Great awakening inspired the growth of the church community branching off into sects to meet
the ever expanding colonial population; thus, increasing the number of churches in colonial america.
Likewise, paving the way for the emergence of lower churches such as the Baptist who sought to
overturn aristocratic rule. Also, this impacted the increased development of colleges to meet the
demand of having to train new ministers in the ministry. Additionally, the Great awakening made
allowances for Enlightenment idealism in conjunction with religion. Furthermore, the Great
Awakening was considered to be the precursor to the American Revolution as it severed its religious
ties to the Church of England; thus, a declination of religious authority and its long standing

Regret In The Scarlet Ibis
Was there a time that Regret came up because someone either did or said something? Regret leads to
life changing decisions. Many people make mistakes, however there will always be regret and wish
they could do something about.
In The scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, the Narrator feels regret, which leads to how he thinks and treats
people.Think before you do something because later you might end up regretting it. The Narrator in
the story was selfish to his brother Doodle. He cared what people thought of him. Therefore, when he
showed selfishness, led him to feel regret. The Narrator shows how embarrassed he was that doodle
was paralyzed. He regrets treating Doodle that way when he found out he died and realizes he doesn t

Andy regrets being in a gang called the Royals. Andy made the decision from the beginning to join a
gang and knew many consequences could happen. In the book, On the sidewalk bleeding Andy gets
stabbed for being a Royal At sixteen, many want to live a long life. In the shoes of Andy he wanted to
live old and have a family, wanted to be know as Andy not as a Royal. No one forced him to be in the

thought of them before, wondered why the rumbles and the jumps and the purple jackets had always
seemed so important to him before. Now they seemed like such small things in a world he was
missing, a world that was rushing past at the other end of the alley. (Hunter 6) Shows when Andy
thought on how the things in the gang matter to him before he got stabbed and how they mean nothing
to him anymore. Feels Regret that he was thinking that way before. Wished he could fix his

What Is Martha Stewart Scandal
Martha Stewart was mostly known for her television shows, magazines, and books. Martha Stewart,
Inc., which the company name later changed to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, helped her reach
her celebrity status of being on of 50 Most Powerful Women, according to Fortune.
In 2002, her reputation of being a successful businesswoman took a plunge when rumors leaked
regarding her involvement of insider trading of ImClone stocks. She took part in selling her ImClone
stock after hearing news of the rejection of their new cancer drug. After being convicted, the affect of
this scandal took a toll on both Martha and ImClone. After serving her sentence, Martha began to
reconstruct her life in hopes to bounce back from the insider trading scandal. Today she has managed
to become just as successful as before this incident. Martha, born as Martha Kostyra in 1941, began
her path to fame as a model at thirteen years old. At a young age she had a fixation for cooking,
decorating, and gardening. While attending college at Barnard College in Manhattan, she met Andy
Stewart who she later married. After having one daughter, Alexis, Martha Stewart began working as a

Different Server Roles of Windows 8 Server That Can Help...
As Savill (2008) points out, Windows Server 2008 is designed around certain roles and features. A
role is a primary duty that a server performs. Therefore, the managers at Kudler Fine Foods need to
understand what they hope to get out of their server before determining the roles they will apply to
Windows Server 2008. Some possible roles for the server include domain controller, for example.
There are a number of different possible roles available to install. These include the following,
according to Savill (2008):
Active Directory Certificate Services.
Active Directory Domain Services.
Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services.
Active Directory Rights Management Services.
Application Server.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server.
DNS Server.
Fax Server.
File Services.
Hyper V.
Network Policy and Access Services.
Print Services.
Terminal Services.
Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) Services.
Web Server (IIS).
Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
Of these roles, Kudler Fine Foods can take advantage of many. The most obvious for day to day use
include Fax Server, File Services, and Web Server. Web server is important because it enables sharing
of information on the Internet, intranets, or extranets, (Savill, 2008). A fax server will allow Kudler
Fine Foods to accept faxed orders, as well as communications from suppliers. This will allow the
company to ensure inventory

The Theories Of Consciousness In Greyson And Calvi-P
The topic of near death experience has brought forth a debate on how the brain is connected to the
consciousness. Two hypotheses, the materialist view and the dualist view, have been suggested. One
claims that the brain creates the consciousness and the other that the brain interprets the
consciousness. In the following paragraphs, I plan to address the hypothesis put forth by authors
Greyson and Calvi Parsetti, the hypothesis I feel best follows both the SEARCH criteria and the
criteria of adequacy, and why I feel the opposing hypothesis lacks a solid foundation.
First and foremost, I am going to address the hypotheses of two authors from which have brought up
the dualist or transmission hypotheses on consciousness. Both Greyson and Calvi Parisetti ... Show

This hypothesis claims that the brain transduces or interprets for the mind/consciousness (Shaffer).
There are several implications that come with such a claim. First, this implies that the brain is needed
to see or interpret the mind, but is not needed to create the mind. Second, as the mind refers to the part
of the person that enables consciousness, awareness, thought, and even feeling, this implies that the
brain is not needed to create such things as consciousness, awareness, thought or feeling. Third, this
implies that the brain and the mind exist separately. Fourth, if the mind exists separately from the
brain, this also implies that something else produces or transmits the mind. Fifth, if the mind and the
brain exist separately and something else produces or transmits the mind, this implies that things such
as consciousness, awareness, thought or feeling should continue to be transmitted despite the absence
of brain stem responses or brain activity. In short, this implies that the brain would no longer produce
a picture, but would still be receiving the picture to be produced. If this were the case, doctors should
still find people responsive, dreaming, etc... despite being clinically brain dead as there would still be
active signals being sent for the brain to

Tone in William Wordsworth s quot; The World Is Too Much...
In William Wordsworth s sonnet The World Is Too Much with Us the speaker conveys his frustration
about the state in which he sees the world. Throughout the poem the speaker emphatically states his
dissatisfaction with how out of touch the world has become with nature. Typical of Italian sonnets, the
first eight lines of the poem establish the problems the speaker is experiencing such discontent about.
Subsequently, the next line reveals a change in tone where the speaker angrily responds to the
cynicism and decadence of society. Finally, the speaker offers an impossible solution to the troubles he
has identified. Through each line, the tone elevates from dissatisfaction to anger in an effort to make
the reader sense the significance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Disgusted, the speaker sees how society has morally degraded itself in exchange for wealth and greed.
The frustrated tone of the poem becomes further elevated when the speaker exclaims, We have given
our hearts away, a sordid boon! (4). Blinded by the daily drudgeries of life, people have become
impervious to nature, despite some of the grand displays that one can behold. The speaker describes
beautiful images of nature such as the sea, howling winds, and flowers that no longer create an
emotional response in people. Since the world has become so out of touch with nature, mankind is no
longer able to appreciate the drama that takes place between the wind and the moon. Additionally, the
speaker claims that society has become so indifferent to nature that, Little we see in Nature that is
ours; (3).
Outraged by society s apathy towards nature, the speaker experiences an angry outburst as he
endeavors to respond to this problem. Exclaiming, Great God! (9) the speaker unleashes his fury
towards society. He is no longer merely frustrated, but enraged by the unmoved society in which he
lives. In the remaining five lines of the poem the speaker alters his discourse from his disgust towards
society, to providing a resolution, albeit an impossible resolution to this crisis. Rather than become
indifferent to nature, the speaker would rather turn to a pagan Greek religion as a means of lessening
his frustration. Since the gods are figures that are intimately

Race And Racism In The Movie Glory Road
Throughout the years racism has been a problem in this world and is why I choose to watch Glory
Road. The movie also teaches that in this life things can be accomplished no matter what the obstacles
are for example your race. So let s take a look at the three cultural conflicts In Glory Road, the first
being colored people versus white people, second is a poor school versus rich school, and lastly
players versus coach. So the first cultural conflict in Glory road is colored people versus white people
and it s the most important issue in the movie. In the movie blacks are treated prolly just because of
their skin color. A really sad scene from the movies was when Texas Western went to eat at a dinner
and when Ched went to use the restroom he was jumped by three white men. Another reason from
Glory road was when Texas Western went to play other colleges they were usually welcomed by other
schools by throwing trash at the Texas Western players in addition when the players names were be

In Glory Road from the beginning the movie tries to inform us that Texas Western is a poor school.
Seeing that when the owner of the school offered coach Don a job he said that he to stay in the same
dorm as the students because that s all they could afford. Due to the fact the owner said his school was
on a low budget. Then when Don went to the school gymnasium the floor was squeaky and the lights
were messed up. Funny thing was that the birds were leaving on top of the ceiling lights. Additionally
before Don accepted the job of coaching Texas Western men basketball the owner said he could only
recruit seven players and when Don sent his assistant coach to New York to recruit some players,
coach Don had to pay his flight from his own pocket. Several players he tried recruiting denied him
due to that fact he was offering players full

Language and Memory Paper
Introduction
Language is important to the way we communicate. Semantic memory is acquired over the years and
is vital to language. Language becomes second nature when we already know what, when and how to
say something. We form sentences, phrases, paragraphs by planning what we say and how we will say
it. Most people believe that when we speak, it is without thought and is done unconsciously. However,
in this paper I will seek to explain the relationship between semantic memory and language
production.
Explain the nature and function of semantic memory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For every action, there is a reason for it. We have to appreciate our cognitive processes and continuing
to understand how they work and what goes into making them work is so rewarding.
Analyze the basic functions of language
Pinker (1994c) esteems language as the jewel in the crown of cognition. Language serves the purpose
of communicating or revealing our cognitive processes. The beautiful thing about language is that it is
one of most complex and valuable aspect of cognition (Robinson Riegler amp; Robinson Riegler,
2008). Babies are able to learn language and sometime understand the language before they can speak
it. There are different types of languages: sign language, English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Braille. All
of these are ways that people communicate with one another depending on their culture and
mental/physical circumstances (deaf, blind).
One characteristic of language is that everything we refer to is symbolized by a word. The way we put
words in a sentence and combine them to make sense, would conclude that we have a basic
understanding of what role words play in a sentence (noun, verb, pronoun). We would not know this if
not through language. Through language we are able to speak, write, read and understand. As
Robinson Riegler (2008) brings out, all the words a person knows comprise their mental lexicon and is
a part of our semantic memory.
When we talk about language, we also should

Montreal Case Study
Hey there! Long time, no see. With June right around the corner, the Montreal Canadiens enter one of
their most crucial periods in years specifically for general manager Marc Bergevin. The draft will
yield some high end prospects, and pave the way for one or more massive trades. Max Pacioretty and
others may be on the move, and the Canadiens roster may have a vastly different look come training
camp. We took to Twitter to ask you, the fans, want to hear about most. We took your suggestions, and
compiled them into the first edition of HC Mailbag. At what point did Montreal go from being the
most progressive organization in drafting developing talent to one of the most conservative?

Most pundits don t believe Tavares wants to come to Montreal. Poor weather, potholes, high taxes,
intense media attention, a non competitive team... A non competitive team? Montreal is one of the
most deep teams in the league on the wings, and has two of the best and most revered players on
defense and in nets. Drouin, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Zadina/Svechnikov, Pacioretty, Hudon,
Lehkonen, Scherbak, Byron, Shaw, Carr. That is the definition of deep. Not everyone on this list will
be a Canadien by September, you can screenshot this for future reference. Add Shea Weber, Carey
Price, Petry, and young up and comers in Mete and Juulsen, and you have yourself a pretty
competitive team. Health is key, and proper deployment will ensure optimal performance from the
team s constituents. Obviously there are glaring holes. The number one centre, and the number one
left defenseman. Drouin could slot in as the 2C behind a true 1C. He was winning more faceoffs, was
more confident down the middle, and posted 13 points in his last 14 contests last season. With less
pressure, he could really thrive between, say, Galchenyuk and one of Zadina or Svechnikov. That s

Elvis loved his Graceland home. His gravesite located in the Meditation Garden on Graceland s
grounds. The Meditation Garden is fitting for the King s final resting place. It is here that Elvis loved
to meditate and contemplate his spiritual side. Graceland draws millions of tourists each year from all
over the World. Elvis beliefs demonstrated that he loved people. He gave expensive gifts to his staff
and loved ones, such as cars and homes. His spiritual beliefs stayed with him throughout his life. Elvis
constantly searched, for the meaning of life and truth. This quest for knowledge inspired him to read
several books, and earnestly seek out spiritual mentors. Gospel music played a large role in
developing Elvis passion for music and spirituality. Every rehearsal session began and ended with a
Gospel song or two. Cognitive Psychology revolves around the notion that if we need to know what
makes people tick; then figure out which processes are going on in their minds. Psychologist
theorized, from this study, that cognition is a mental act or process by which information exists,
(McLeod, 2012) . Erik Erickson believed that people develop in the context of their environments,
with the forces of society exerting strong influences on the social world of people in all places of the
development, (Board, 2012, pp. 95, 96). The psychobiography of Elvis directly relates to the different
stages of Erickson s cognitive theory, which includes distinct stages like

Women Should Not Wear Dress
individuals located in Texas as compared to individuals located in New York. Same goes for the
industry that people are working in. Appearance goes along with first impressions. Dress should be in
business attire or business casual with an emphasis on being conservative (India, 2015). Women
should avoid wearing attire that is too revealing. Next comes the greeting. In the United States, it is
customary to shake hands. Shaking hands is also a regular greeting in India (India, 2015). Men can
shake hands with men and women with women. It is not often for men to shake hands with women

It is vital to communicate effectively. Avoid using words that hold multiple meanings. For example,
the words date and foot both have multiple meanings. Indians prefer to do business with those they
know. Respect and trust are vital to building a relationship. Generally speaking, it is preferred to
already have a personal relationship before doing business. It is suggested to be introduced by a third
party for instant credibility (India, 2015). Indians do not like conflict or confrontation. Saying No
directly is considered rude, and it is rare to show disagreement (India, 2015). Look for indirect cues of
disagreement. Vague responses can indicate a No as well. Be sure not to directly refuse, disagree, or
say no. In negotiations, being overly aggressive or expressing feelings of anger will diminish trust and
respect (India, 2015). The process for making decisions can be slow, and the most senior ranking
person often makes the decision (India, 2015). It is common to celebrate with a meal. It is good to
remember that Hindus do not eat beef and many are vegetarians, Muslims do not eat pork or drink
alcohol, and Sikhs do not eat beef (India, 2015). Finally, managers are expected to be knowledgeable
in the field. The expectation is for managers to provide guidance and answers, unlike in the U.S.,
where successful managers do not need to be subject matter experts on their team. Behavior in the

  • 2. Milpa Agriculture Research Paper Mayan civilization underwent massive developments in agriculture and within their society. According to historian Sylvanus Griswold Morley, Maya Maize agricultural practices have remained the same as they were over three thousand years ago. (Morley 128) A uncomplicated process of felling the forest, burning dried trees and bushes, planting, and switching up the spots of the cornfields every few years. This system is known as the milpa agriculture, pulled from the Aztec word for cornfield. Agricultural tools were fire hardened, the Maya xul, a pointed planting stick, the baat, a stone axe, chim, a fiber bag for carrying the seed corn. At first, they used sticks to punch holes into the ground, but progressively obtained more advanced farming techniques. Their main crops they grew were maize (corn), beans, squash, avocados, chili peppers, pineapples, papayas, and cocoa, which was used for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Maya milpa agriculture can be separated into eleven different stages: locating the field, the selection of a plot of ground for the cornfield is a crucial step. The milpero, or corn farmer, spends a whole day observantly searching for the precise type of soil. (Morley 129) Felling the forest and bushes, the milpero starts to fell the bush after sunrise has occurred and would continue until early afternoon. Felling the trees and bushes would consume a lengthy period of time and energy. (Morley 131) Burning the dried bushes, the felled bush would normally be burned in March or April, after the hot days of February and March have passed. The cornfield is set ablaze when the wind is blowing strong enough, in order to thoroughly burn the cornfield. (Morley 132) Fencing the field was not required in ancient Mayan times because the domestication of animals had not happened. Planting the field, planting would occur right after the first rains, which the Maya believed it would fall on the Day of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. How Is Japanese Internment Justified Japanese Internment Executive Order 9066 was issued on February 19, 1942, by President Roosevelt, two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. It declared that any and all persons could be detained and taken off of the West Coast due to military necessity. Executive Order 9066 was established because on December 7, 1941, Japan struck a United States Naval Base in Honolulu, Hawaii killing 2,043 Americans and injuring 1,000 more American citizens. They struck the United States with bombs trying to destroy their battleships and their army. One day after the attack, the United States declared war on the Japanese Empire. Immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the internment of Japanese Americans was justified because the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The United States had just been infiltrated by Japanese forces causing an attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and they were in a state of emergency. The United States was worried that Japanese American citizens would be loyal to their descendant country and they did not want anyone to be able to further sabotage the United States in World War II. Leland Ward, a governmental representative for California, argued that the internment was justified in January of 1942, To prevent any fifth column activity...all Japanese, whether citizens or not, be placed in inland concentration camps (Document A). The government wanted to prevent spying, or fifth column activity, from occurring while the United States was in a fragile state. This was for the well being of the country because if the United States took a chance on spies and sabotage, it could lead to further destruction. In conclusion, the internment was justified because the United States could not afford another attack on one of their military ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Signs Life In The Usa Analysis When you think about technological progress chances are you think about your own life becoming more convenient. A fire was easier to start with a chunk of flint than rubbing two sticks together, and once it was discovered it was utilized out of convenience. Convenience has always driven innovation, so it s not an unrealistic assumption to expect a more convenient life in the future. It s not all sunshine and rainbows though, as convenience means work transferred to machines, which means less work for people. In the past this has meant a transfer in the job market, old careers being replaced with new ones, and fields opening up which did not exist before. With the automation possible today we are seeing an exponential trend of automation, with more jobs being replaced by machines than are being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Sonia Maasik and Jack Solomon s anthology Signs of Life in the USA, they include an essay by Jenkins, in which he introduces his black box fallacy, stating that humanity will always look for a singular device that will accomplish virtually every task. Jenkins uses such examples as smartphones to illustrate the natural pursuit to converge all our tasks onto one device (Jenkins 427). Jenkins argues that this is an impossibility, and that as new technology is developed old technology must adapt. While we may never quite reach Jenkin s black box we can come close, as demonstrated by the very example he uses. A smartphone may be replaced by a device even more useful someday, but in the present exists as an invaluable communication device. Even if society offers resistance at first, technologies such as 3D printing and APM machines will force economic reform, and if not those specific technologies it will be something in the more distant future, with even more drastic ... • 6. Linear Regressions This project set out to determine the accuracies of predicting movie box office revenue and classifying the success. Using various techniques and data from reputable movie sites, we were able to generate numerous prediction and classification models with their own accuracies attached. We were guided by what previous literature have covered on the two topics we wanted to investigate. The literature review gave us a clear pathway to follow in terms of where to collect data, what type of data to use, what techniques and methods work best and what type of results to expect. There were a few movie sites that were used that were used regularly by researchers. The type of data that the researchers collected were wither movie features or social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We decided to keep movies in the dataset that were English and from the USA. We also wanted to only include movies that were released in USA and abroad. The data we did not need was filtered out and the data features that were not pre release were removed. When it came to predicting the worldwide box office revenue, we wanted to use linear regression and SVM. This was because many researchers had used these techniques. When using linear regression we realised that our data needed transforming as the linear regression assumptions were violated. The Box Cox transform we used transformed our dependent variables and worked well. The assumptions of the linear regression were met. The forward selection procedure used helped identify which variables were good predictors in the models. Linear regression has certain assumptions, so in order to not violate those assumptions, it is crucial to pick the best variables for the model. The best model we found using this procedure met all the assumptions and gave good prediction accuracies. The results obtained from the linear regression and SVM models indicated that the accuracies all of the models were very high. Linear regression and SVM achieved similar results with SVM just slightly achieving better accuracy rates As we were predicting box office revenue using pre release data only, the accuracies of 80% plus were a good surprise. Transforming the worldwide box office revenue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Types Of Cell Division First Go Through Interphase Essay Cell division Both types of cell division first go through interphase which has three stages. The cell grows in the G1 stage. It copies all of its chromosomes during the S phase, the two copies of the chromosomes are held together by the centromere resulting in an X shape. The last stage is preparing for division which is called G2 phase. After this is starts to divide in either mitosis or meiosis. Mitosis the typical process of nuclear division in eukaryotic cell. ... results in two identical daughter nuclei of identical genetic constitution to the parent cell. (Henderson s dictionary of biology, 2008) Mitosis happens in five steps and results in two daughter cells. This process is used in most cells apart from in the production of gambits. The five stages are prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. However, these stages do overlap a bit. Prophase is the first stage and this tends to occur before any obvious chromosome movement happens. A lot does happen but it is just hard to see. The chromosomes condense into chromatids by folding up. 2 chromatids joined by a centromere is a chromosome. Two proteins help in sorting and packing the chromatids up during prophase these are topoisomerase ll (part of nuclear scaffolding and uses an ATP for DNA decatenation) and condensin (involved in stabilizing loop formation in chromatin). During this stage the microtubule network is reorganized, by the cytosolic microtubules breaking down and the formation of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Data Management And Information Systems Introduction With 3.2 billion internet users [1] and 6.4 billion internet connected devices by 2016 [2], unprecedented amount of data is being generated and process daily and increasing every year. The advent of web 2.0 has fueled the growth and creation of new and more complex types of data which creates a natural demand to analyze new data sources in order to gain knowledge. This new data volume and complexity of the data is being called Big Data, famously characterised by Volume, Variety and Velocity; has created data management and processing challenges due to technological limitations, efficiency or cost to store and process in a timely fashion. The large volume and complex data is unable to be handled and/or processed by most current information systems in a timely manner and the traditional data mining and analytics methods developed for a centralized data systems may not be practical for big data. The paper provides background and related literature on the Big Data, studies the concept from Relational Database to current NoSQL database which have been fueled by the growth Big Data and importance of managing it. And surveys the Big Data challenges from the perspective of its characteristics Volume, Variety and Velocity and attempts to study how those challenges can be addressed. This is where NoSQL systems have been created to solve the data management challenges posed by Big Data. NoSQL is not a single system that can solve every single Big Data problem ... • 9. Essay on Standards and Perceptions of Male Bearty... Throughout history there have been many changes in the standards and perceptions of male beauty in Western culture. The portrayal of the male form throughout time, in art and sculpture, reflects the culture s morals, values, and beliefs, among other things. In paintings and sculptures, artists depict the qualities in men that are important to the time period of their works. Perceptions of male beauty and their image can also represent a person s social status in society, such as being noble, rich, or both. The male themes seen throughout art include heroes, the supernatural, biblical figures, and idealized bodies, to name a few. Some of the time periods that illustrate the importance of male beauty and image are the Baroque period, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bodies of these men show the importance Neoclassic society placed on portraying the ideal male body from Greece. The male figures have taut muscles and determined gazes and the repetition of the male form symbolizes their unity and seriousness (Bluffington.edu). The men in this painting also appear statue like, another characteristic of the Neoclassic male image. Transitioning from Baroque to Neoclassicism, the male form went from portraying the average, everyday male to focusing more on showing the strength and heroism of men. Continuing on after the Neoclassical period one can continue to see the male image in art evolve as well as societies changing standards and perceptions in the Romantic era. Romanticism rejected the ideals of Neoclassicism and the Enlightenment. Western culture began to shy away from the order and reason of classical beliefs and became interested in natures unruliness, natural goodness of mankind, and emotional expression. Romanticism was also triggered by changes in science. In paintings, artists of Romanticism used a more expressive and individualistic style as opposed to the idealized image of Neoclassicism to portray their men. In art and literature, Romanticism typically refers to the late 18th century and the 19th Century (reviewpainting.com) A romantic painting to analyze is Friedrich s Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog (1818). • 10. Essay on Live Evaluation of 39 Steps Evaluation of a live performance: The performance I went to see was The 39 Steps on the 25th of March, at the Criterion Theatre in London, it s produced by Gaumont British. The original 39 steps was an action spy novel written by John Buchan in 1915. Then Alfred Hitchcock produced a film, then the play was written and when I first saw the play it was a bit of a shock seeing as the book and film are set as thrillers and the play is very much a comedy. The play is set in 1914 and Europe is on the brink of war. The main protagonist Richard Hannay is bored with life, until he runs into a mysterious German woman names Annabella Schmidt at the theatre. Richard then takes the woman home with him and she reveals that she is tracking down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This I thought was a very different, but clever way of expressing large scenes. Occasionally a follow spot was used to highlight some parts of the of the play for comical effect. At the beginning Richard is asked to look out the window by Annabella and when he does two actors run on stage with a lamp post and as soon as they are on the spot light is on and when they leave it s off again, they did this to give a sense of perspective from the window to the street and also to take the mick out of classic thrillers. The set and props where very compact and were built and moved on and off by the cast because they are designed to be transferred by one person. The props where all cleverly done, for instance they made a bridge out of three ladders, a train out of four boxes and a house from just one door. The door I thought was one of the best props used because the cast managed to make a fairly small stage appear huge just by moving the door and pretending each time that it was a new room every time they passed through it. At one point in the play Richard and Pamela ask the scottish landlords for a sandwich and they come back with a loaf of bread cut in two with one slice of lettuce in the middle, this was such a simple idea but made a big deal and a laugh out of it The rhythm of the production was extremely fast paced due to the size of the cast and comedy. The costumes helped speeding up the pace with changes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. What Is Macarthur s Last Speech General MacArthur was station on the Philippine islands during the start of WWII. He commanded all of the U.S troops on the island and had his command center stationed on Corregidor (Biography.com, 2012). On this island he watched as the Japanese army invaded the Philippines. Outnumbered and outgunned, MacArthur was forced to retreat to Australia. When he arrived in Australia he made his I shall return speech. In this speech he promised that he would return to the Philippines and force the Japanese off the islands. After a couple of years he finally gained enough troops to return to the Philippines. Once he was on the island he gave his I have returned speech (Breuer, 2001). Reasons for Going Back The general consensus is that MacArthur went back because of his father s past, his personal ego, or because of his national duty. Many biographers or historians can agree that he went back for at least one of these reasons. Geoffrey Perret said MacArthur saw his return to the Philippines as a way of redeeming American national pride and honor. And his own pride and honor (PBS, 2012). If this is true then we must ask ourselves why MacArthur s first speech back on the island was directed at the Philippines. The first reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This led to the famous Bataan death march, where thousands of American POWs were tortured and killed by the Japanese army. An example was in the book Ghost Soldiers. Starting a poor boy, hated by most, rising to rule a huge empire, and then finally being destroyed by his own arrogance and ending his life humbled, remembering what he had doe, and leaving it all in his memoirs for the world to read. Napoleon was born in 1769, on the Island of Corsica. His parents, Carlo and Letizia Bonaparte, were poor nobles. When Napoleon was just 10 years old, his father helped to get him a mathematical scholarship to a military school at Brienne. In the school, Napoleon was hated and considered a foreigner. He took the stronghold at Mantua after a long siege, and was heading toward Venice with little resistance when the Austrians surrendered, and Napoleon negotiated the treaty of Campo Formio, which ended what is now called the war of the first coalition. While in Italy, Napoleon took large amounts of money and art to bring to France. When Napoleon returned from Italy, it was suggested that he invade England. Instead, he decided to invade British owned Egypt. After sneaking by the British navy, Napoleon landed in Egypt, and quickly carried out the occupation. While Napoleon as inland, the British destroyed the French fleet, leaving Napoleon stuck in Egypt. In early 1799, the Ottoman empire declared war on France. • 13. The And Criminal Cases Evidence In both civil and criminal cases evidence is used in order to prove a particular fact about a case. Evidence can either be direct or circumstantial. Direct evidence establishes a particular fact without the need to make an inference where circumstantial evidence an inference is needed to be made in order to connect the evidence to a particular fact of the case. Definition Circumstantial evidence is defined as evidence which may allow a judge or jury to deduce a certain fact from other facts in which have been proven. Meaning, the witness or whoever is giving the evidence is describing circumstances to which they observed. It is indirect evidence, from which then the trier of fact, that could either be the judge or the jury depending on the type of court the matter is being addressed in, can logically infer the existence of the material fact. From these definitions, it is clear that circumstantial evidence is not straightforward. There is a chain of facts that need to be followed so that a logical conclusion from a dispute between parties can be made when there is no direct evidence. Due to the fact that there is no direct evidence, the trier of fact must then make a logical jump or inference to reach their conclusions about the evidence that has been brought forth. Circumstantial evidence relies heavily on the use of inference to connect the facts to the conclusion. Meaning, a conclusion is being reached just on the circumstantial evidence that is being brought forth by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, through God s covenant with him his numerous descendants inherited Palestine and from them came Messiah, the blessing to all peoples on earth. Understanding the culture of Ur of the Chaldeans, Abram s place of origin, requires a determination of where this area was located and analyzing archaeological discoveries of that area in conjunction with other disciplines of biblical study. About 1800 B.C. Abram s father, Terah, took his family and left Ur for Canaan but settled in Haran where Terah died. Haran was located in the southern part of modern day Turkey. After his father s death, Abram was called by God to continue his journey to the land of Canaan and he was called from, Ur of the Chaldeans. Abraham s call from this pagan culture further affirms that God is both merciful and gracious as well as sovereign over the affairs of mankind. Ur of the Chaldeans is the first reference to the city in the biblical narrative with regards to Abram s city of origin. Abram s brother, Haran, died in Ur before Terah, Abram s and Haran s father, took the family to the city of Haran, a well known stop along trade routes in Mesopotamia. The exact location of where the ancient city of Ur was located is debatable. Prior to an 1849 excavation by Sir. W.K. As the Leno Amendment attempts to aid the financial situation of the tenants by giving them more time to relocate, as well as being paid relocation fees, the state of California is attempting to even out the wealth gap. The landlords gained the most money and made up smaller, but wealthier end of the spectrum, whereas the tenants gained the least, and made up the poor majority while the Ellis Act is in place. In the following paragraphs, I plan to address the hypothesis put forth by authors Greyson and Calvi Parsetti, the hypothesis I feel best follows both the SEARCH criteria and the criteria of adequacy, and why I feel the opposing hypothesis lacks a solid foundation. There are several implications that come with such a claim. First, this implies that the brain is needed to see or interpret the mind, but is not needed to create the mind. Second, as the mind refers to the part of the person that enables consciousness, awareness, thought, and even feeling, this implies that the brain is not needed to create such things as consciousness, awareness, thought or feeling. Third, this implies that the brain and the mind exist separately. Fourth, if the mind exists separately from the brain, this also implies that something else produces or transmits the mind. Fifth, if the mind and the brain exist separately and something else produces or transmits the mind, this implies that things such as consciousness, awareness, thought or feeling should continue to be transmitted despite the absence of brain stem responses or brain activity. The beautiful thing about language is that it is one of most complex and valuable aspect of cognition (Robinson Riegler amp; Robinson Riegler, 2008).
