This document presents an analysis of a stepped gear box regulation in a lathe machine. It includes structural diagrams, a ray diagram, and speed charts to illustrate the gear box design. The analysis determines the number of speed steps and transmission ratios needed to achieve a 20.84x speed range between 938 rpm and 45 rpm. The optimal structural formula was determined to be Z=4(1)*2(4), with two transmission stages between the motor and spindle. The ray diagram visually depicts the gear ratios that satisfy the transmission constraints to efficiently distribute speeds across the required range.
