planned for any filming production, when planning an advertisement. As it
is for TV, it can last anywhere from 30 seconds – 2 minutes,
• A storyboard can now be a converging technology as it can be made
online on a computer using a programme such as Storyboard That. This
could be of benefit as it allows you to create more complex storyboards
that are animated with background music and dialogue and you can share
a storyboard draft version with directors, camera people and producers to
get feedback
5. Microsoft teams
• Microsoft Teams: A multi-purpose platform that allows you to efficiently
communicate to colleagues all under one unified platform. This would be
used when creating an advertisement campaign in order to get initial ideas
built on to create a successful campaign.
• Microsoft teams is a great choice of platform for Pre-Production, which
offers meetings, file sharing and live communication. Everything is in one
location and accessible to everyone. This shows that it has changed with
converging technology as organising a schedule can all be done online
now. Microsoft Teams is also able to be accessed on smartphones,
laptops, tablets and other converged media.

• Uploading images from a photo shoot to be used in a magazine
ad using Drop Box or Google Drive.

record the advert, get the shots and footage you need and get it
ready for editing, using equipment such as DSLR cameras.
• This stage is important as it allows you to finalise everything
that was planned in the pre-production and move the project
onto the next phase.
• This links to convergence as it is all done digitally, and you can
record from any device, send footage over to your team to get
feedback instantly and upload to a dropbox medium.
10. Video editing
• Video editing links to the advertising industry as it allows a
production team to finalise an advert and adjust it to compel
consumers.
• This stage is important as it finalises a project and makes it
ready for the postproduction phase. This can now be completed
on black box devices so that teams don't need to all travel to an
editing suite.
• This can be used with convergence as it is all done online and
can be accessed with different devices.
11. Colour correction
• Colour correction is editing colour to what it is supposed to be.
• This stage is important as it is needed to ensure that the colour of a
final advertising production is visually appealing to a consumer.
• This links to convergence as colour can be corrected and adjusted
on all devices using apps that can be downloaded on the app store
or google stores. The edited images for a billboard can then
be instantly sent over to the client or the team.
12. RE- recording
• Re – recording is important as if anything does not record well
during the production stage you will need to re- record it to
ensure that it reaches perfection.
• This stage is important as previous recording may be deemed
as not up to standard, so this is crucial to get it right.
• This links to convergence as it can be recorded on, and the
recording stored on any smart device.
13. Animation And Visual Effects Insertions

advertising industry. This stage is important as it allows advertising
agencies to get input on what type of things you're into so they can
target you with ads that you will find appealing. This shows
convergence as it is all digital and the algorithm is connected to clouds
for example your goggle account.
• Hashtags are another key area of the advertising industry, which links
to convergence. Through social media, you can now use hashtags as
companies to identify main aspects of a product and these
allow audiences to click on them and go to things connected. These
can be accessed on many different devices.
17. Production technologies
• YouTube adverts. The production technology has changed over time as
now when you access YouTube you must watch a part of an advert to
access the video you want to watch. Audiences are able to access this
product by simply watching a YouTube video and if interested in the ad
they can click on it. As YouTube has developed, they now use algorithms
to track the preferences of audiences and users in order to target them
more. This shows advancement as audiences would previously see
adverts statically through billboards, but now YouTube adverts can be
accessed on any black box device over the WiFi or 5G in order
to showcase products and encourage mass exposure. As YouTube videos
can be shared, these adverts can be shared too.

interact with the public in public areas. This production
technology has advanced overtime as they used to not even be
digital but now can be found in 2D and even 3D interactive

placesfor example in oxford circus and times square. These are
important for advertising stages and companies as they provide
mass exposure to products to not only encourage target audiences
but also encourage wider audiences

The advertising industry has utilised change in technology through identifying the amount of people
who has access to social media and the strategic advantage that it has over more traditional forms
of advertising. This makes sense as more traditional forms of advertising are limited to people who
are in a specific geographical location whereas modern advertising can communicate with anyone
no matter the location. This shows that the advertising industry has utilised technology to make
gains and in turn, technology has advanced so that adverts are much more personalised and
targeted to the user. The ability of modern technology to identify consumer tastes is utilised by
companies to promote personalised adverts. This is advantageous as it allows companies to target
specific demographics with certain adverts guaranteeing a higher level of success than focusing
adverts on the general public. Audiences can now access social media adverts via YouTube,
Instagram, Facebook, snapchat and any social media site.

description on a product making it an effective form of
advertising. Audiences can access this form of marketing by giving
company's their email on their website or when buying a product. The sent
e-mail for marketing will then be accessed on tablets, smartphones,
laptops and computers. This is easily accessbile if someone has their
email account as an app on these devices. It is instantly accessible and
directly reaches the audience – further, these adverts are often
personalised to give a more 1-1 experience.
21. Distribution
• Smart TVs: Smart TVs show technology distribution as you can access
any form of media on them in the modern day. You can watch Netflix,
YouTube and even access goggle via the internet application. Audiences
are able to access this by setting up a smart tv creating a goggle account
and buying a Tv license (to access news). Smart TVs have developed as
you can now access the above name streaming services via the apps

services use this as an advantage to showcase many adverts.

for any type of converged media such as shopping online,
downloading apps, edited images, surfing the web,
watching/downloading videos and accessing adverts. Further
examples of this include contact as well as diverse forms of social
media. Audiences can access this through getting a smart phone
and downloading all relevant apps and software. This is an example
of advanced technology as smart phones are well converged and
audiences can access many different types of media, especially
advertised products whether that be through social media, cookies,
hashtags or print products.
