2. Filming
When we filmed, we made sure we shot enough cuts to give us the
best opportunity when editing. This allowed us to have a range of shots
to choose from. It also minimalized the need to re-film in certain
locations.
We aimed to get as many different angles and zooms as possible to give
us a variety of shots to select from.
The phone we used while filming had to be fully charged as the filming
would last a long time. To ensure it didn’t run out of charge, we took a
battery pack with us as well which enabled us to keep the battery fully
charged.
3. While filming the content for our music video, we came upon a number
of different challenges. One main one we came across was the
continuity of editing. As we filmed in multiple locations over a couple
of days, we had to ensure that the weather was as close to possible as
the previous days filming.
We also had to manage our time effectively while filming as it got dark
quickly. This meant that we had to get to the locations early to give us
enough time to film the content we planned to.
4. Editing
The editing process was made a lot easier thanks to the software we used
(IMovie). This software gave us a lot of pre-set effects and filters which all
helped to make our video look more professional. It was also made easier
thanks to the wide variety of shots and angles to select from.
The editing software allowed us to edit the video more efficiently as well as
it was a lot better than what was used last year (windows movie maker)
The range of shots made it easier for us to portray the message we wanted
to as the different angles showed different expressions and body language,
all of which helped to support the codes and conventions of pop videos
5. Ancillary tasks
The ancillary tasks had to support he music video itself and therefore,
we had a photoshoot at one of the locations used in the video. This
helps with the continuity as the audience will be able to make links
between the video and the magazine adverts. The digipak also used
shots taken from the video and photos of the location, this again helps
the audience to create links between the three products
