2. PURPOSE
The purpose of the music video was to be entertaining to its young
audience we wanted to make a grim video that would be produced
adequately. We also wanted to make something that would be
challenging but fun. We also hoped to produce a good quality music
video for a young audience that this music is suited for.
The purpose of this project was to also see how well we could edit as
music video with what it takes to make one all the stages of
production.
3. PRODUCTION
The pre-production process took a while we separated the work out
evenly. Everyone hade their jobs and this made the process go
quicker than if we all did it one by one.
For production filming went by pretty quickly we organised the shots
we wanted and got a lot done straight away during our filming
sessions. We even had several takes so that we could take the best
one. We worked together to get the best shots we could and to make
the angles work in the music video.
4. POSITIVES
We worked really well and finished the whole production fast. The
video was put together well with a good cutting rate that also used
several locations to make the music video more appealing. We added
action shots to make the music video more interesting instead of it
being someone lip-syncing to the song.
We did not have to hold on filming due to people not being here to
make the music video. Everyone was on time for the filming sessions
and were ready to work.
5. NEGATIVES
We worked a bit slow on the pre-production part if we worked more
on it at a quicker pace then we would have had more time to film and
either get that done quicker or add more to the music video to make
it more appealing.
We could have also used more locations when filming the music video
to make it more diverse in the scenery so that it is not always the
same background people are seeing.
6. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
The audience had told us that we have a good fast cutting rate on the
final music video. We were also told that we have a good range a wide
shots used in the music video that consist of different locations.
For our rough cut showing we were told to fix the lip sync in some
areas because it was a bit off and didn't make the music video look
smooth. There were also suggestions for some establishing shots and
more visual effects to be added into the music video.
7. IMPROVEMENTS
We focused on one improvement which was the main one for use. We
focused on fixing the lip sync in the music video so that it would run
smoothly. After fixing the lip sync we watched the video to make sure
it ran smoothly and received positive feedback on the final screening
we did in class.
