MADA AT presentation with case studies
This training developed for The Literacy Cooperative of Greater Cleveland. It will:
Whet your appetite for using technology and media in your literacy program.
Ask you to select at least one awesome tech learning object.
Provide time and a template to create a integration plan to use your chosen tech learning object right away.
This presentation documents many online math resources as well as how to go about jazzing up the creation of story problems using technology in 3rd Grade Math.
E Learning in Medical Education.E-learning (or eLearning) is the use of electronic media, educational technology and information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. E-learning includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images, animation, and streaming video, and includes technology applications and processes such as audio or video tape, satellite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based learning, as well as local intranet/extranet and web-based learning. Information and communication systems, whether free-standing or based on either local networks or the Internet in networked learning, underlie many e-learning processes
Thinking of getting a dog? Be aware that breeds like Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds can be loyal and dangerous. Proper training and socialization are crucial to preventing aggressive behaviors. Ensure safety by understanding their needs and always supervising interactions. Stay safe, and enjoy your furry friends!

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Welcome
• Who am I?
• **Who are you?** (Where are you from?
Primary Discipline ?)
• What are we going to do over
the next 50 minutes or so?
• (Browsers)
3. Participant Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
• Collaboratively explore how
a DM can be used with
students to study
experimental design
• Help students analyze the
affordances and limitations
of a DM
• Share digital manipulatives-
applets, simulations, and
software that can be used to
create such things
** Do you use DMs in your classroom? How?**
4. Why use DMs?
“Can students do this
experiment in a
classroom setting and
get reasonably
accurate data such
that the “science” or
“math” may be
discovered?”

5. Digital Manipulatives
• Recommendations: Update
your Java and Shockwave;
Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Op
era, etc. Have multiple
browsers on your machine.
• Look for DMs that allow
manipulation of variables
for experimental design.
• Avoid “simulations” - unless
you want to have your
students analyze them for
accuracy.
6. Let’s Collaborate
**Determine whether the following are useful for students to study
experimental design.** Explore for 5 minutes to determine if this is a
good DM for ED. What are the affordances and limitations of these
tools?
• DM 1 -

• DM 2 - http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/olc/dl/120074/bio18.swf
• DM 3 - http://www.learner.org/courses/envsci/interactives/ecology/
7. Exploring An Example
**Go to: http://phet.colorado.edu/sims/projectile-
motion/projectile-motion_en.html and “play” for 3-4
minutes. Use FireFox if you have it.**
8. Let’s Collaborate Further
**Having explored the tool now we will divide into
teams and develop short materials and methods in
order to design an experiment. Google Docs? Board?
Pirate Pad? Cacoo? We’ll use Pirate Pad.**
