Digital assessment can transform the learning process and increase engagement if implemented properly. While technology has evolved significantly since 2000, assessment practices have not changed much. The overuse of technology for content delivery instead of focusing on the learning process has resulted in workload issues for teachers and disengagement among students. However, digitizing the assessment process can improve efficiency and functionality similar to other areas. A trial at one school saw digitized assessments requiring far less time but providing more feedback interactions and an increase in independent learning and math skills relating to real life situations. With only basic device, WiFi and internet requirements, any school can trial digital assessment by enlisting one teacher.
