Key Tertiary Education Trends (2012)
New Zealanders aged 25 to 34 years with a level 4 or higher qualification

• 422,000 students were enrolled in formal study
programmes in 2012, including 47,700 international
students.
• Enrolments in degree and higher qualifications by
students aged 18 to 24 years continued to increase.
• Enrolments in non-degree qualifications continued
their downward trend.
