 A recent survey shows that 20% of Indians own a cat.
 Cats are so intelligent, affectionate, and warm, that having a cat as a pet helps to
elevate a bad mood or cure depression, and is often associated with positive
psychological benefits.
 Cats are less popular as pets than dogs.
 They spend the majority of their time sleeping

in India.
 Indian Billi cats are medium-sized with strong

are gold to copper in color.

7. Himalayan Cat
 Himalayan Cats resembles the mix of

their fluffy fur gives them the impression
that they are much larger.
 The creature has a round head, large
round eyes, a short tail, and small ears.
The eyes are either green, blue, or
copper.
 The coat they possess is quite thick and
long with refined luster and gloss.

 The British Shorthair is a compact,
well-balanced breed famous for its

bear.

jaws, and well-developed muzzles.
 They may look slightly grumpy first,
but they are incredibly faithful
companions and get mingled with
time.

9. Egyptian Mau:

 Egyptian Mau is a small, short-
haired, naturally spotted
domesticated cat breed.
 The spots are on the tips of the hairs
and are considered rare breeds.
 They are medium-sized, have heavy
muscles and are strong, and come in
triangular heads with large almond-
shaped eyes and spotted tabby
markings on the coat.
 This breed is a bright blue-eyed and
glossy short coat, making it rare to
shed.
 Their coats are glossy and soft with
silver, bronze, and smoke colors.

 The Maine Coon also called the Gentle Giant, is
a large, domesticated cat breed that shares similar
characteristics to a dog breed.
 Their physical appearance is too distinct, and
they have nice hunting skills, but they are family
cats and love to be with humans.
 It appears large and sturdy with a muscular body,
broad chest, and solid legs.
 Their silky and smooth long coat comes in
various colors like solid white, cream, red, blue,
and black Maine Coons.
 They have defined large, pointed ears topped
with wisps of hair, expressive oval-shaped eyes,
and a long bushy tail.

11. Siamese Cat:

 Siamese cats are the first
distinctively recognized cats in Asia.
 They are a favorite for many due to
their defined structure carrying

ears, and a sharp nose.
 Blue-eyed and short-coated, this
breed is rare to shed.

12. American Bobtail

 American Bobtails are domestic cats
famous for their stubby bobbed tail
and playful personalities.
 They are moderately energetic yet

shaggy coats.
 These cats have a variety of colors
and patterns and have large, deep-set
almond eyes with long back legs.

13. Munchkin Cat:

 The Munchkin Cats are among the dwarf cat breeds
but are extremely sweet and good as a family pet.
 They are characterized as confident extroverts who

short) on average and long spine.
 They are available in two forms of coats.
 The short hair has a plush medium density coat, and
the long-haired have silky smooth fur.
 Their color ranges from black, white, brown, red,
beige, lavender, fawn, lilac, silver.
