Dietitian Personal Statement
"Unless the doctor of today becomes the dietitian of tomorrow, the dietitian of today will become the doctor of tomorrow." Dr. ALEXIS CARROL.
(Famous Biological Scientist and head of the Rockefellar Institute.)
I open with this quote to illustrate the importance of the role of the dietitian in the health care field. Chronic disease can be prevented, managed, and
sometimes reversed through proper nutrition. It is up to the dietitian to impart knowledge, skills, and self–efficacy into the individual, so they may take
back control of their health. It is my hope that by becoming a dietitian, I can impact lives in a meaningful way and improve the health, welfare, and
quality of life of those within my community.

My desire to balance family and career has evolved into a dream where I combine all my areas of interest to serve the people of my community and
empower them to improve their lives. Before building my business, I will complete my dietetic internship, sit for the registration exam, and
commission into the US Air Force Reserves or US Army Reserves to work as a registered dietitian. This will allow me to pursue my interest in
tactical nutrition and research, stay home with my children until they are school aged, and begin taking patients/clients for my private practice. If I
specialize in sports nutrition, I will become a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, but if I follow my interest in fertility, pregnancy, and lactation, I
will become an International Board–Certified Lactation Consultant. Regardless of my area of practice, I will obtain my board certification in obesity
and weight management and become a certified diabetes educator. With overweight, obesity and diabetes on the rise, affecting 35% and 10% of Ohio's
population respectively, I will need these certifications to meet the needs of my

Essay On Profession Of Arms
Human resource Sergeants responsibility for profession of arms is one of the most important values we have. To better understand the importance of
the profession of arms; I will explain the meaning of profession of arms. The profession includes key factors which are expertise, trust, development,
values, and service. Each factor is what makes profession of arms attainable. One way to excel at the profession of arms is to do what is best for the
United States. We serve the people of the United States and we are implementing services that we are trained and ready to provide them. Some of
which include protecting the United States and its allies from terrorists to national disasters. We are there for them and we will support their decisions.
The trust factor; not only must we look out for the interest of the United States but earn their trust as well. Trust is not easily given and we have to put
in the effort to demonstrate that we are there for them.
Development factor involves training and education. Professionals are knowledgeable in their career and focus on efficiency. We encourage our
soldiers to advance in their MOS by going to BLC, ALC and SLC. Army is also immense on civilian educations and receiving a college degree.
Profession of arms follows the values factor to establish unity and morals. Values... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having the climate right provides the army to function successfully and effectively. Most units take a command climate survey to see how the unit as
a whole is doing. The soldiers can give their comments on the actions of the unit to improve the climate overall. For instance, having an NCO who is
not willing to help their soldiers and always belittling them does not benefit the company. Having those comments input to make effective decisions on
how to fix problem to move onto our missions and complete our tasks. This is why the climate helps with the balancing of

Military Professionalism
The Professional of Arms describes the professionalism as a soldier who will over time become an expertise through military training, real life
experiences, and knowledge of their position or appointed duty assignment. The Army requires professionals to up hold the Army values, be proficient,
serve, protect, and defend citizens during war. We also need to hold these same standards state–side. Leader's use their real life experience and
knowledge to help them become professionals and experts at what they do. This knowledge and experience should be taught and passed down to the
future soldier's. The white paper announced that the war we have encountered in the past has had an effect on our Professionalism, as we might have

Basic Combat Training and Military Occupational Schools (MOS). I remember going to Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in 2002 at Fort
Jackson, South Carolina. Before the MOS was 42A, we were considered 71L. This was the time we had the 201 Files and mostly everything was
on paper and not digitally. As a 71L back then, our Human Resource Sergeants trained their young soldiers to make sure all S1 paper work was
filled out correctly by the regulation. We were trained to make sure the Soldiers have a copy, and one to go into their 201 File. Back then nothing
was not iPerm'd, so it was very imperative that we had a copy of their paperwork in their 201 file. This Human Resource Sergeant made sure every
soldier in the section was well trained on each paper work as far it pertained to the S1 functions. This built us into better soldiers and

Meeting Deadlines Essay
The Importance of Meeting Deadlines The United States Army is described by Encyclopedia Britannica as the major branch charged with preserving
peace, security and defense of the country. Furnishing majority of the entire U.S. military organization's ground forces, it is also tasked with partly
military or non–military functions or such as the administration of federal programs that protect and develop the environment; provision of military
assistance to the federal, as well as state or local government agencies; assistance during onslaughts of natural disaster; and the giving of air
transpiration for emergency medical use. With its military personnel consisting of the Army proper on active duty, the National Guard and the Army

When the particular task has broad importance, the entire Army will be forced to adjust its schedules as well, resulting to inefficient and costlier
operations. For particularly critical missions, the peace or security, or interests of the entire nation becomes compromised. When not meeting deadlines
occurs more than once, and worse, becomes a habit, damage to the unit and the Army becomes dangerous. Just one Army unit becoming habitually
inefficient becomes a liability. The operations of the other units and the whole U.S. Army become adversely affected. When the Army of the greatest
military force in the world fails to perform its tasks and responsibilities successfully or inefficiently, the superpower status of the USA would be
imperiled, and subsequently, the security of the country would be placed in terrible danger. Strictly meeting deadlines may not be crucial to certain
organizations as their functions may present a certain window of flexibility wherein time adjustments or rescheduling may be possible. Other entities
such as news organizations may depend on strictly meeting deadlines for write–up submissions, but the lives of people are not necessarily endangered
by late articles or results. In military organizations such as the Army, time discipline in unit missions is often critical in terms of saving friendly lives

Military Child Essay
Korinda Rehling–Rodriguez
ENG 098R 1053
FINAL DRAFT
Military Child: 'Brat'
Pure hell took its course on me as a young innocent girl. Being a military brat definitely impacted my life in many challenging ways. The term military
brat is usually misunderstood by non–military population. A military brat is a child from a parent who is in the military. My mother was a
commanding officer which made me and my siblings labeled "military brat" The word brat (by itself) may seem negative. However, we were taught
that its not an insult but actually a term of endearment and respect. Of course the military has a lot of traveling, family orientated, many free services,
and good food. Being a military brat was not all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we moved she would distribute more lashings. My mother was mean and called her discipline "tough love". Yeah right, my ass it wasn't tough love.
She could dissemble my door frame in five minutes taking away my privacy when I would slam my door from anger.
She would turn off the electricity to my room so that there was no TV, curling irons, games, or any luxury. The more my mother was a bitch the more
I rebelled with braking my curfew, sneaking out, hiding her badge, taking her files and hiding them. The consequences of misbehavior for a military
brat are generally greater than for a civilian children.
Being labeled a brat was not a choice by any means. However, due to the challenges I endured it has shaped and molded me into the woman I am
today. A woman with values, strength, great friendships, and unconditional love for all. No longer that innocent girl thanks to the military who robbed
me of that innocence. And It makes want to spit when someone refers to me as a military brat. It's not a word that means "endearment" or "respect" as
we were taught.

Since the Army's professionalization, there have been ebbs and flows in the degree to which the Army has manifested the nature and motivations of a
profession rather than its other organizational character of government occupation – highly professional in periods of expansion and later phases of war
and less so in periods of contraction after wars, e.g. post–WWII into Korea and post–Vietnam. Even after the establishment of an all–volunteer force in
1971 and the rebuilding of the Army NCO Corps post–Vietnam, these ebbs and flow have continued. The Army in Desert Shield– Desert Storm was
highly professional; the Army after the next decade of build–down and the exodus of captains and other leaders and talent in the late 1990s was
arguably much less so. A recent report suggests that the operating forces of the Army, after nine years of war in the Middle East, exhibit more clearly
the traits and character of a profession, comparatively, to force–generating side of the Army. So, as described above as a producing organization, the
Army really has a dual nature–that of a government occupation structured as a hierarchical bureaucracy and that of a vocational, specifically military,
profession. Section 1.1 – Where will the balance be? The issue that faces the Army now, and will more so in the transition period we are entering as we

Either way, lying is not appropriate, even if it was unintentional, and the liar should apologize appropriately when they are caught in a lie. When a
person resorts to lying to others they are only lying to themselves. A person that is dishonest once will usually lie again and again and many
professions have developed reputations as having a great majority of liars in their field, which has led to issues of public trust, even with those that
are truthful and honest. So why do people choose to tell lies? A lie usually starts out as innocent in nature but must be covered with a larger more
complex lie and then another and soon the lies build up to a point that the person no longer knows the difference between what is true and what is a
lie. Telling lies always leads to deceit; lack of trust, losing respect and in many cases the loss of a career. In the military, a non
–commissioned officer,
or an NCO, is an enlisted member of an armed force who has been given authority by a commissioned officer, typically a sergeant or corporal.
Being a private, they are of higher rank and deserve a higher amount of respect. While lying to anyone is unacceptable, lying to a person of higher
rank, like an NCO, is even less acceptable. Not only does it give off the impression that the person of lesser rank does not respect his elders, but it also
degrades the private's trustworthiness. Trust is everything.

Importance Of Integrity In The Army
When it comes to the Army core values I feel that all of them are equally important when it comes to being a great leader or just a soldiering
general. The acronym LDRSHIP is what every soldier should represent and exemplify. It is the core of who we are. If I had to choose one that
means the most to me I would say integrity. Without integrity you are nothing. To be able to be a great leader you should be able to always do
what is right whether in the eye of someone else or behind closed doors. You should always be able to admit when wrong. Being a leader of
integrity is being able to act according to principles and making decisions that are true to the army and one's moral belief. As your integrity grows as a

ROTC and become that leader that I know I can be. I feel that me being an officer is the perfect thing for me. I have great leadership skills and
have no problems motivating and being a great example to others. I am not shy of speaking in front of people and do well with giving orders.
Being an officer requires you to ne an outstanding person and that is who I see myself to be. I feel that I will be great at making important

Army Core Values
All organizations should have a form of biblical leadership within its structure. The United States Army sets the standard and is considered one of the
best organizations that produce quality leaders time after time. They do this by establishing, believing and living their essential core values. The core
values are set in stone and followed by every member of the organization, no matter the rank or status they have inside the organization. There are
eight core values that include: 1) Loyalty 2) Loyalty 3) Duty, 4) Respect 5) Selfless–Service 6) Honor 7) Integrity 8) Personal Courage. These eight
values form the acronym that spells LDRSHIP. This is by far been the successful sticking point of the Army for many years. Many organizations...

It must be understood that it will take time and a cultural change to implement new policies and procedures. Here in lies the problem as this type of
plan will take at least two phases to accomplish. The first phase would involve the organization as a whole understanding the changes that are going to
take place. The second phase would require leaders to understand and implement the change for the organization. The Army National Guard must be
willing to train their weekend warriors on the new cultural environment that would ensue after implementing the new plan. It will be hard to
accomplish this task along with their other Guard jobs and tasking's. Having key leaders train, mentor and coach the Soldier's will be the key to
ensuring the plan is carried out correctly and does not die before leaving the drawing

These values may be positive, as cleanliness, freedom, or education, or negative , as cruelty, crime, or blasphemy. So when discussing values you
also enter ethics and morality into the equation. When encompassing a large group of people from different nationalities and ethnic backgrounds
who have to establish a set of rules or values for all to find common ground on. The Army Values does just that. This plays into the role of
responsibility because the acronym LDRSHIP displays just that. We found earlier that to be a leader you have to be responsible they go hand and
hand. So by now you are probably wondering what is LDRSHIP. Leadership is loyalty, duty, respect, self
–less service, honor, integrity, personal
courage. These are the values that help each and every service member cope with the day to day struggles they face and help with their decision
making process. I could define verbatim what these values mean but I would rather tell you what they mean to me. Loyalty is to be true to oneself
and others always, duty is to do what needs to be done, your job. Respect is a two way street, treat others as you would treat yourself. Self–less service
is simply to be able to step out of your comfort zone and do things for others and the Army with out putting yourself first. Honor, well in the spirit of

Army Values
In the US Army, since the moment you decide to enlist, all soldiers are taught the 7 Army Values during the whole process of Initial Entry Training,
the importance to apply each one of them to your daily life and to live up to them. It is no coincidence that these core values are broken down in the
acronym LDRSHIP. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage are the qualities the US Army looks for their
leaders to possess.
Each one of the 7 Army Values plays an important role in ourmilitary leadership, therefore in my personal opinion, there is not a value that should be

My definition of fraternization is an inappropriate relationship between yourself and another individual, whether lower or more higher ranking then
yourself, within your unit. My definition along with the Army 's definition of fraternization is just a bases of what it could be. Really any
relationship between the soldiers of a different rank which is too personal, will cause problems in a unit. It is only a matter of time. This is why the
Army continues to prohibit relationships that meet any of the five categories. The Army also does not allow relationships between different categories
of soldiers, it does not matter what ever command or unit that they are in. Examples of this would would be a recruter, Drill Sergeant or a instructor of
any kind. Fraternization is only one form of many unprofessional relationships.
All United States Army soldiers must take care to avoid inappropriate actions or comments with other service members, especially those of different

Not being properly trained can result in many lives and poorly ran missions. I am told by my superiors to put a lock on my wall locker for a reason,
and make sure it is locked, at all times. This is for me to learn to maintain all my equipment and items. And always abiding by the LDRSHIP acronym
(Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Self–less service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage) at all times will keep me accountable and responsible and make
me a better soldier. So I can always be the soldier that my fellow servicemen would want to fight beside in any time of crisis. This acronym should be
the backbone of any American Soldier. L–Loyalty is my commitment I will always have for my country, other service members and my superiors.
loyalty is important because if I did not care for my country I would have no motivation to serve and protect my fellow servicemen and the citizens
of my country. Loyalty also means that I will not betray my country, or fellow service members in any way and I will always stay true to my country.
Being a person that other people can count on is being Loyal. D– Duty is what is required of me by my superiors and my country. I do what needs to
be done, and what I am told to do, no matter what. I will always obey my superiors and carry out the Duty that is required of me as a American
Soldier. R– Respect is treating other people the way they want to be treated. By following what you learned in kindergarten.

Belonging Of A Sisterhood Of Arms
Belonging to a Sisterhood of Arms
Despite having been involved in the military since the American Revolution, women are most often overlooked as being a soldier. While many people
think it is respectful to go up and thank a person for their service and duties in the military, most often they insult women by not acknowledging them as
a soldier, because society still sees military personnel as a male based society. There is a fallacy to this stigma.
Almost anyone can point out a man who is in the service, whether or not he is in uniform. Although it may not be easy to tell that I was a soldier in
one point in time. The main reason is, is because I am a woman. There are not many physical attributes for a female that gives any tell tale signs like a
person would see with a male member with his high and thigh hair cut and freshly shaven face. The only sure way to know that I was a soldier is
if I had said so, or if I was seen wearing one of my uniforms with my hair tied neatly in a low bun; however when I am in my civys (military term
for civilian clothes), it's almost impossible to tell unless one is very observant in human behaviors. Another way to tell how a woman may be a
military member is how we talk; we usually use military jargon such as "female/male", using the NATO alphabet, "FUBAR (F*** Up Beyond All
Recognition)", and many others we may find reasons to use in our civilian lives but can only find a military term to express how we feel about it.

It requires you to be candid and sincere with your peers, subordinates, and superiors. Integrity calls upon you to be honest and honorable in word

important role in the values because if one does not have integrity they cannot be trusted on in a time of need or when you are working side by side

Leaders should want to take care of Soldiers, and conversely, Soldiers should want to take care of their Leaders. This care extends to understanding
what Solders are facing at their civilian job and at their homes. Ultimately, this Soldier care will result in better performance of the unit, and the
satisfaction of a job well done. Taking care of Soldiers is one of the fundamental responsibilities of Leadership. It requires deliberate and intentional
effort, and sometimes the efforts will seem like they are for nothing. That is not a reason to stop doing it. The return on investment of your time and
money in taking care of Soldiers is very high. Some of this return is quantifiable, as in high unit retention rates and higher overall training numbers.
Some of it is not as quantifiable as in high unit esprit–de–corps. It is easy to write off problematic Soldiers, but it far too difficult to replace them.
Leaders should work on creating an environment where Soldiers want to stay, and where Soldiers want to make a positive contribution to the unit.
Remember what works and keep doing it. The bottom line is that taking care of Soldiers is about setting a standard, and helping Soldiers achieve that
standard. ""A man does not have himself killed for a half–pence a day or for a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him"–

impression on your leaders, and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable to them. It would make things run alot smootherif everyone
was on time all of the time. If no one was at the right place at the right time, it would set what ever mission you have back. It also makes a negative
impact on your leadership. However, I also feel that as leaders, they should also realize that things may happen with the soldiers. Whether its being
late to formation, missing an appointment due to some circumstance, as long as the soldier doesn't make it a habbit then forgiveness should be
granted on that instance. Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality
we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable anywhere. This should be the easiest
task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct this issue if it is a continuous problem. You can recieve a negative counseling statement,

Army ROTC Personal Statement
I would like to be a part of the WSU Army ROTC program because I have a lot of potential to offer and I want to develop into a full fledged Army
officer. The military path is something I have always wanted to pursue since junior year of high school. The influence of growing up in a Navy
family helped shaped my decision to enlist in the Army National Guard. I was fortunate enough to be advanced from PV2 to PFC at the end of BCT
on November 2016. During Initial Entry Training I realized that my goals and beliefs were aligned with beliefs such as the Army Values and
LDRSHIP principles. After learning about the Army values and LDRSHIP principles, I integrated these beliefs into my everyday life as asoldier and a

JROTC: A Career As A Cadet Officer
In JROTC there are many topics to learn as a cadet. A cadet must memorize the cadet creed and be dedicated to the program. As a cadet I learned a
lot of topics in JROTC during my freshman year. In the JROTC I learned the basic rules on how to be a good cadet and the Cadet Staff's
Responsibilities. During freshman year in JROTC we learned a lot about leadership and how it will affect us in the future. Leadership was a big
topic that we learned during ROTC, the 11 principles of leadership was also an important topic we covered, it thought us how to become leaders. In

Personal Philosophy Of Leadership Essay
Leadership Philosophy by SFC Avila, Jose G. USAR Leadership begins with one's own morals, values and life experiences. It is not only about
knowing how to lead Soldiers, but also about capitalizing on each Soldiers personal strengths. As Army leaders, we must lead and influence others
by example and, because of this, it is important to live by the Army's values. We, however should also apply our own values and life experiences to
guide Soldiers not only in their quest of becoming excellent Army leaders, but also productive members of the civilian world. The Army gives us a
guide and its own definition of Army Values with LDRSHIP. The following is my personal insight on leadership and how I feel we can successfully
guide our Soldiers: 1) Understand a. No one Soldier is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will help us understand the areas in which we can assist them in becoming a proficient Soldier. 2) Communication a. Clearly defining
expectations is of paramount importance. One method that can be used is counseling Soldiers as this gives leaders the opportunity, not only to
communicate your expectations, but also to know each Soldier as an individual. Communicating with all Soldiers gives them the opportunity to
participate and prepare for what's to come. A well informed Soldier will be able to prepare themselves physically and mentally to perform their duties
to the best of their abilities. 3) Teamwork a. Army leaders always work as a team with their Soldiers. No single person is more important than the other.
Leaders must instill in Soldiers that each individual task, whether it be small or large, will contribute an essential component toward accomplishing a
greater mission. Furthermore, leaders must lead by example, and at times, it means that one must take a hands– on approach when a task is not being
performed to standard. Demonstrating how to accomplish a task is far better than simply telling a Solider how to do something. Telling them to do

what not to be as a leader. It was at Fort Bragg, North Carolina that I came face to face with one of the worst examples of leadership and negative
role models I have encountered in my 14+ year Army career. The impact and impressions that MSG Smith left on me have been burned in my

She showed zero respect for others and their contributions to the unit overall. I have observed her use such insulting language to female Soldiers that
it brought them to tears. Never once under MSG Smith's leadership did I feel respected or appreciated. I would go home each day and vent to my

Army Standards and Ethical Dilemmas MSG Garrison, John O., 19Z United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 62 SGM Kelvin Hinkle
December 8, 2011 Unclassified Abstract The inconsistent application of Army standards leads to unethical decisions on a daily basis. Despite an
emphasis on Army values at all levels, military leaders open themselves up to make unethical decisions when they don't adhere to set standards. Despite
the Army having clear standards on height/weight, APFT, the tattoo policy, and reporting requirements, leaders often take it upon themselves to ignore
the standard or create their own. Leaders have the responsibility to maintain and enforce standards which are driven by regulations. If military leaders...

The first example that comes to mind is the measuring techniques that are spelled out in AR 600–9 that determine a Soldier's body fat. I have been in
the Army for twenty–one years and have been subject to the tape test my entire career; I can tell you that measurement methods have been inconsistent
at best. Sometimes, there are the appropriate numbers of people doing the taping, but often times there is just one person doing the taping. Sometimes,
the person doing the taping measures the Soldier correctly and other times the person may tape in such a way as to give the Soldier an advantage. As
far as the grading of the APFT goes, although FM 21–20 specifies the correct way to do a push–up or sit–up, the actual scoring for these events are
wildly inconsistent from grader to grader. Sometimes these inconsistencies hurt a Soldiers score, but often these inconsistencies give an unfair
advantage to a Soldier over his or her peers. The inconsistencies in grading the APFT and measuring a Soldier's body fat are magnified by those
leaders who don't even bother and just "pencil whip" the results of both. What a unit or leader does or does not do to Soldiers who fail the APFT or
do not meet the standards of AR 600–9 is where possible ethical dilemmas arise. I was the height/weight NCO for a company for almost four years, and

The Strength Of The American Army
Every person has a set of values that they live by and what they fall back on to make decisions in their every day life. The United States Army has a
set of core values that every soldier whether enlisted or officer alike has instilled in them at the begging of their career and follows them through
out the rest of their life. The Seven core values, Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal courage also know by the
acronym LDRSHIP is what every soldier lives by and makes daily life decisions based off of them. The effectiveness of the American Army is
because these values are at the heart of the soldier and allows him to fight in any operation. The first of the seven Core Army Values is loyalty.
Loyalty, according to the army, is bearing true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit, and other soldiers a like. Loyalty is
necessary when deploying over seas. A loyal soldier is an effective soldier. It means that he puts aside his personal life and is motivated to the cause
at hand. This is why loyalty makes and unit more effective. It is what brings soldiers together, because if they know that they can rely on the man
next to him then they can accomplish any mission no matter how difficult. If loyalty is not present in a unit then they can't be mission ready and won't
be effective in the field. The second of the core values is duty. Duty is more than that of doing your single job it is making sure that everyone on

Often times we see that individual who maintains his/her military bearing. The soldier who is physically and mentally resilient, displaying discipline
but lacks the knowledge needed to be a leader. This is where competencies come in. Someone who can lead, develop and achieve.
Leading others require immediately building trust. Trust comes with leading by example; proper communication and being a steward of his/her own
profession. Developing soldiers by creating a positive environment is key to foster an esprit de corps. A leader, who follows what the foundations of
leadership is, will achieve the tasks.
The Army is turning 243 years old on June 14 this year, meaning its inception was June 14, 1775. The foundation of Army leadership dates back
well before rules and regulations of today. The George Washington's, Abraham Lincoln's and the Colin Powell's, wherever you see a leader, they

My Leadership Philosophy
My leadership philosophy is fairly straightforward and simple. I believe that a good leader is someone who helps others to make the best of
themselves. A credible leader is able to accomplish this goal by providing inspiration and confidence in others, which allows them to fulfill the
objectives of their mission and organization. Thus, in helping others to fulfill the goals of an individual mission, a leader is really helping his
subordinates to fulfill their own personal career goals and develop themselves professionally. The military chain of command plays an integral role in
the type of leadership advocated within the United States Armed Forces as explained in Army Doctrine ADRP 6
–22. This chain of command provides
clear distinctions between superiors and their subordinates, and allows for a clear conception of what sort of obligations the latter has to the former.
Still, superiors are obligated by the armed forces to exemplify qualities that allow them to inspire the confidence and the respect of their followers. The
term leaderships is defined as "the process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish the mission and
improve the organization (ADP 6–22, 2012, p. 1–1). The individual qualities that a leader routinely demonstrates to successfully inspire the best in
others are related to professionalism, integrity, and respect both on an individual and an organization–wide basis. These qualities enable leaders to best

My Personal Guideline For Success Essay
I am instructed to write a two thousand five hundred word essay on all seven army values. All the
army values are important to me and are my personal guideline for success. The army values enlighten
me as a soldier, and are used as a great training method for the United States Army as whole. In the
army it is a sin not to be able to know and recite these seven values for then you, your dedication, and
stature as a United States soldier would be compromised. Throughout this RBI there will be great
understanding, and knowledge on the seven values along with my diverse example, and opinion in all
aspects on the topic at hand. I as a writer hope you the reader understand all the army values put forth
in this essay.
All of the army values play a key role in a soldier's stature. I believe personally that without the
values being implemented by each and every soldier the army would not be where it is today. The Army
Values are Leadership, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. These
seven values are also used in an acronym (LDRSHIP) I personally believe for training purposes. The first
letter in the acronym is loyalty which by army definition means to bear true faith and allegiance to the
United States constitution, the army, your unit, and other soldiers. That being said United States soldiers

This process constantly evolves because leaders within the organization make changes through bottom up refinement. At the end of every training
exercise, an After Action Report (AAR) is conducted. Even though the exercise has ended, this informal learning is codified in the AAR. This forum
acts as an interface from the lowest to the highest ranking Soldier within the organization. Not only does the Army require these informal training
events, but formal training curriculum is provided as well. One example of this formal training is the Master Gunner Course at Fort Benning,
Georgia. The Army recognized a need for a professional at the Battalion level to ensure that proper procedures are being conducted on all mobile

Military Core Values
In the Military there is a large dynamic of different persons and cultures. There are also many deployments for training and combat. Because of this
all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen need to be prepared for ethical dilemmas. A foundation based on strong standards, values, and training
will help prepare them for any dilemmas that may arise within an organization or operational area. One of the things that can help within an
organization, is the enforcement of standards and core values. One example of core values is the Army Values. This can be remembered by the
acronym LDRSHIP. L is loyalty, D is duty, R is respect, S is selfless service, H is honor, I is integrity, and P is personal courage (army.mil). This must
be an all–around enforcement, not just from the top down. Standards and core values apply to all within an organization. No one is above or below
them, what applies to one applies to all. Once standards and values are followed by all, sustainment training will come next. Training is essential, but
how to conduct it is the question. It is a consensus felt throughout leadership, that it would be pointless to teach moral philosophy rank and file

Covenant leaders have the ability to empower those who work in their organizations by "giving people meaningful work to do and treating them well
as they do it" (Moisan, 2007 p. 95) as this stills trust both in the workers and by the leader. Conclusion This paper has looked at two different types of
leadership styles and the traits that encompass those styles. One is like night and the other like day they are the opposite of each other in most every
way. One of the ways that they do share a similarity is that given the circumstances both can in their own way be effective. Question is though can
they both be sustainable for the long term. Narcissistic leadership styles are only as good as the leader can feel his or her own personal needs and

Dietitian Personal Statement

  • 1. Dietitian Personal Statement "Unless the doctor of today becomes the dietitian of tomorrow, the dietitian of today will become the doctor of tomorrow." Dr. ALEXIS CARROL. (Famous Biological Scientist and head of the Rockefellar Institute.) I open with this quote to illustrate the importance of the role of the dietitian in the health care field. Chronic disease can be prevented, managed, and sometimes reversed through proper nutrition. It is up to the dietitian to impart knowledge, skills, and self–efficacy into the individual, so they may take back control of their health. It is my hope that by becoming a dietitian, I can impact lives in a meaningful way and improve the health, welfare, and quality of life of those within my community. Practice areas I gained experience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My desire to balance family and career has evolved into a dream where I combine all my areas of interest to serve the people of my community and empower them to improve their lives. Before building my business, I will complete my dietetic internship, sit for the registration exam, and commission into the US Air Force Reserves or US Army Reserves to work as a registered dietitian. This will allow me to pursue my interest in tactical nutrition and research, stay home with my children until they are school aged, and begin taking patients/clients for my private practice. If I specialize in sports nutrition, I will become a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, but if I follow my interest in fertility, pregnancy, and lactation, I will become an International Board–Certified Lactation Consultant. Regardless of my area of practice, I will obtain my board certification in obesity and weight management and become a certified diabetes educator. With overweight, obesity and diabetes on the rise, affecting 35% and 10% of Ohio's population respectively, I will need these certifications to meet the needs of my ... • 2. Essay On Profession Of Arms Human resource Sergeants responsibility for profession of arms is one of the most important values we have. To better understand the importance of the profession of arms; I will explain the meaning of profession of arms. The profession includes key factors which are expertise, trust, development, values, and service. Each factor is what makes profession of arms attainable. One way to excel at the profession of arms is to do what is best for the United States. We serve the people of the United States and we are implementing services that we are trained and ready to provide them. Some of which include protecting the United States and its allies from terrorists to national disasters. We are there for them and we will support their decisions. The trust factor; not only must we look out for the interest of the United States but earn their trust as well. Trust is not easily given and we have to put in the effort to demonstrate that we are there for them. Development factor involves training and education. Professionals are knowledgeable in their career and focus on efficiency. We encourage our soldiers to advance in their MOS by going to BLC, ALC and SLC. Army is also immense on civilian educations and receiving a college degree. Profession of arms follows the values factor to establish unity and morals. Values... Most units take a command climate survey to see how the unit as a whole is doing. The soldiers can give their comments on the actions of the unit to improve the climate overall. For instance, having an NCO who is not willing to help their soldiers and always belittling them does not benefit the company. Having those comments input to make effective decisions on how to fix problem to move onto our missions and complete our tasks. This is why the climate helps with the balancing of ... • 3. Military Professionalism The Professional of Arms describes the professionalism as a soldier who will over time become an expertise through military training, real life experiences, and knowledge of their position or appointed duty assignment. The Army requires professionals to up hold the Army values, be proficient, serve, protect, and defend citizens during war. We also need to hold these same standards state–side. Leader's use their real life experience and knowledge to help them become professionals and experts at what they do. This knowledge and experience should be taught and passed down to the future soldier's. We have to uphold our position and be a subject matter experts at what we do. We need to be able to train our soldiers not holding the 42A position are not knowledgeable in the S1 paper that is filled out every year for Soldier Readiness Process(SRP). It all boils down to the fundamentals of our Basic Combat Training and Military Occupational Schools (MOS). I remember going to Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in 2002 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Before the MOS was 42A, we were considered 71L. This was the time we had the 201 Files and mostly everything was on paper and not digitally. As a 71L back then, our Human Resource Sergeants trained their young soldiers to make sure all S1 paper work was filled out correctly by the regulation. We were trained to make sure the Soldiers have a copy, and one to go into their 201 File. Back then nothing was not iPerm'd, so it was very imperative that we had a copy of their paperwork in their 201 file. This Human Resource Sergeant made sure every soldier in the section was well trained on each paper work as far it pertained to the S1 functions. This built us into better soldiers and ... • 4. Meeting Deadlines Essay The Importance of Meeting Deadlines The United States Army is described by Encyclopedia Britannica as the major branch charged with preserving peace, security and defense of the country. Furnishing majority of the entire U.S. military organization's ground forces, it is also tasked with partly military or non–military functions or such as the administration of federal programs that protect and develop the environment; provision of military assistance to the federal, as well as state or local government agencies; assistance during onslaughts of natural disaster; and the giving of air transpiration for emergency medical use. With its military personnel consisting of the Army proper on active duty, the National Guard and the Army ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the particular task has broad importance, the entire Army will be forced to adjust its schedules as well, resulting to inefficient and costlier operations. For particularly critical missions, the peace or security, or interests of the entire nation becomes compromised. When not meeting deadlines occurs more than once, and worse, becomes a habit, damage to the unit and the Army becomes dangerous. Just one Army unit becoming habitually inefficient becomes a liability. The operations of the other units and the whole U.S. Army become adversely affected. When the Army of the greatest military force in the world fails to perform its tasks and responsibilities successfully or inefficiently, the superpower status of the USA would be imperiled, and subsequently, the security of the country would be placed in terrible danger. Strictly meeting deadlines may not be crucial to certain organizations as their functions may present a certain window of flexibility wherein time adjustments or rescheduling may be possible. Other entities such as news organizations may depend on strictly meeting deadlines for write–up submissions, but the lives of people are not necessarily endangered by late articles or results. • 5. Military Child Essay Korinda Rehling–Rodriguez ENG 098R 1053 FINAL DRAFT Military Child: 'Brat' Pure hell took its course on me as a young innocent girl. Being a military brat definitely impacted my life in many challenging ways. The term military brat is usually misunderstood by non–military population. A military brat is a child from a parent who is in the military. My mother was a commanding officer which made me and my siblings labeled "military brat" The word brat (by itself) may seem negative. However, we were taught that its not an insult but actually a term of endearment and respect. Of course the military has a lot of traveling, family orientated, many free services, and good food. The more my mother was a bitch the more I rebelled with braking my curfew, sneaking out, hiding her badge, taking her files and hiding them. The consequences of misbehavior for a military brat are generally greater than for a civilian children. Being labeled a brat was not a choice by any means. However, due to the challenges I endured it has shaped and molded me into the woman I am today. A woman with values, strength, great friendships, and unconditional love for all. No longer that innocent girl thanks to the military who robbed me of that innocence. And It makes want to spit when someone refers to me as a military brat. GEN Martin E. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the Army's professionalization, there have been ebbs and flows in the degree to which the Army has manifested the nature and motivations of a profession rather than its other organizational character of government occupation – highly professional in periods of expansion and later phases of war and less so in periods of contraction after wars, e.g. post–WWII into Korea and post–Vietnam. Even after the establishment of an all–volunteer force in 1971 and the rebuilding of the Army NCO Corps post–Vietnam, these ebbs and flow have continued. The Army in Desert Shield– Desert Storm was highly professional; the Army after the next decade of build–down and the exodus of captains and other leaders and talent in the late 1990s was arguably much less so. A recent report suggests that the operating forces of the Army, after nine years of war in the Middle East, exhibit more clearly the traits and character of a profession, comparatively, to force–generating side of the Army. So, as described above as a producing organization, the Army really has a dual nature–that of a government occupation structured as a hierarchical bureaucracy and that of a vocational, specifically military, profession. In the US army we are taught to live by the Seven Army Values. They are broken down to us in the acronym "LDRSHIP". Loyalty "Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, and other soldiers. " Duty " Fulfill you obligations. " Respect " Treat people as they should be treated . " Selfless Service " Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates above your own. " Honor " Live up to the army values." Integrity "Do what is right legally and morally. Either way, lying is not appropriate, even if it was unintentional, and the liar should apologize appropriately when they are caught in a lie. When a person resorts to lying to others they are only lying to themselves. A person that is dishonest once will usually lie again and again and many professions have developed reputations as having a great majority of liars in their field, which has led to issues of public trust, even with those that are truthful and honest. So why do people choose to tell lies? A lie usually starts out as innocent in nature but must be covered with a larger more complex lie and then another and soon the lies build up to a point that the person no longer knows the difference between what is true and what is a lie. Telling lies always leads to deceit; lack of trust, losing respect and in many cases the loss of a career. In the military, a non –commissioned officer, or an NCO, is an enlisted member of an armed force who has been given authority by a commissioned officer, typically a sergeant or corporal. Being a private, they are of higher rank and deserve a higher amount of respect. While lying to anyone is unacceptable, lying to a person of higher rank, like an NCO, is even less acceptable. Not only does it give off the impression that the person of lesser rank does not respect his elders, but it also degrades the private's trustworthiness. Trust is everything. ... Without integrity you are nothing. To be able to be a great leader you should be able to always do what is right whether in the eye of someone else or behind closed doors. There are eight core values that include: 1) Loyalty 2) Loyalty 3) Duty, 4) Respect 5) Selfless–Service 6) Honor 7) Integrity 8) Personal Courage. I could define verbatim what these values mean but I would rather tell you what they mean to me. Loyalty is to be true to oneself and others always, duty is to do what needs to be done, your job. Respect is a two way street, treat others as you would treat yourself. • 15. Belonging Of A Sisterhood Of Arms Belonging to a Sisterhood of Arms Despite having been involved in the military since the American Revolution, women are most often overlooked as being a soldier. While many people think it is respectful to go up and thank a person for their service and duties in the military, most often they insult women by not acknowledging them as a soldier, because society still sees military personnel as a male based society. There is a fallacy to this stigma. Almost anyone can point out a man who is in the service, whether or not he is in uniform. Although it may not be easy to tell that I was a soldier in one point in time. The main reason is, is because I am a woman. There are not many physical attributes for a female that gives any tell tale signs like a person would see with a male member with his high and thigh hair cut and freshly shaven face. The only sure way to know that I was a soldier is if I had said so, or if I was seen wearing one of my uniforms with my hair tied neatly in a low bun; however when I am in my civys (military term for civilian clothes), it's almost impossible to tell unless one is very observant in human behaviors. Another way to tell how a woman may be a military member is how we talk; we usually use military jargon such as "female/male", using the NATO alphabet, "FUBAR (F*** Up Beyond All Recognition)", and many others we may find reasons to use in our civilian lives but can only find a military term to express how we feel about it. Sometimes, there are the appropriate numbers of people doing the taping, but often times there is just one person doing the taping. As far as the grading of the APFT goes, although FM 21–20 specifies the correct way to do a push–up or sit–up, the actual scoring for these events are wildly inconsistent from grader to grader. • 30. My Leadership Philosophy My leadership philosophy is fairly straightforward and simple. I believe that a good leader is someone who helps others to make the best of themselves. A credible leader is able to accomplish this goal by providing inspiration and confidence in others, which allows them to fulfill the objectives of their mission and organization. Thus, in helping others to fulfill the goals of an individual mission, a leader is really helping his subordinates to fulfill their own personal career goals and develop themselves professionally. The military chain of command plays an integral role in the type of leadership advocated within the United States Armed Forces as explained in Army Doctrine ADRP 6 –22. This chain of command provides clear distinctions between superiors and their subordinates, and allows for a clear conception of what sort of obligations the latter has to the former. Still, superiors are obligated by the armed forces to exemplify qualities that allow them to inspire the confidence and the respect of their followers. The term leaderships is defined as "the process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish the mission and improve the organization (ADP 6–22, 2012, p. 1–1). The individual qualities that a leader routinely demonstrates to successfully inspire the best in others are related to professionalism, integrity, and respect both on an individual and an organization–wide basis. These qualities enable leaders to best gain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It Is Stated That General Leonard Wood Never Kept Quiet It is stated that General Leonard Wood never kept quiet in any job that he ever held during his thirty–five years of active federal service in the United States Army. "When there was work to do, he has done it, from chasing Indians all over our great Southwest back in the 'eighties' and over a good slice of Mexico's northwest, to teaching Cuba how to rule herself." (Sears, 1919) He was not known for sitting back and just 'earning his paycheck'. Instead, he chose the more challenging jobs like building new training camps for officers and teaching preparedness to the soldiers of the late war. As a result, the Army formed its first truly combined arms divisions. This allowed the American Army to fight as a force in the battles and campaigns of the Great War, WWI." (Homle, 1920) Following the war, General Wood was chosen to be a candidate for the Republican Party for President. Although he was not chosen, he did not get discouraged. All the army values are important to me and are my personal guideline for success. The army values enlighten me as a soldier, and are used as a great training method for the United States Army as whole. In the army it is a sin not to be able to know and recite these seven values for then you, your dedication, and stature as a United States soldier would be compromised. Throughout this RBI there will be great understanding, and knowledge on the seven values along with my diverse example, and opinion in all aspects on the topic at hand. I as a writer hope you the reader understand all the army values put forth in this essay. All of the army values play a key role in a soldier's stature. I believe personally that without the values being implemented by each and every soldier the army would not be where it is today. The Army Values are Leadership, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. These seven values are also used in an acronym (LDRSHIP) I personally believe for training purposes. The first letter in the acronym is loyalty which by army definition means to bear true faith and allegiance to the United States constitution, the army, your unit, and other soldiers. That being said United States soldiers

If one proposes the idea that a person serving in the United States Military is not a profession, it shows that he or she does not understand the scope of what is expected and required of an American Soldier today. In fact, one can argue that in the past decade American Soldiers have been expected to be more professional than they ever have been before. The United States Army is considered a profession not only by virtue of their predetermined skill sets and their pursuit of higher learning, but also the values by which they must abide by on a daily basis. Not only does the Army require these informal training events, but formal training curriculum is provided as well. One example of this formal training is the Master Gunner Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. The Army recognized a need for a professional at the Battalion level to ensure that proper procedures are being conducted on all mobile weapon systems the United States Army employs. At any Master Gunner Course, a Soldier will be expected to learn every technical detail of any given the vehicle and its accompanying weapon system. With this privileged, I am establishing the guiding principles that are complementary to my expectations. Consider these principles as Pillars for Success. Each of them encompass a strong character trait that I believe every leader should possess. My Pillars for Success are integrity respect, discipline, and self–awareness. The Army instilled its guiding principles in the acronym LDRSHIP – Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage. It is my intent to do the same by sharing mine with you. INTEGRITY Integrity is the willingness to do what is right no matter what the situation, no matter who's around. • 38. Military Core Values In the Military there is a large dynamic of different persons and cultures. There are also many deployments for training and combat. Because of this all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen need to be prepared for ethical dilemmas. A foundation based on strong standards, values, and training will help prepare them for any dilemmas that may arise within an organization or operational area. One of the things that can help within an organization, is the enforcement of standards and core values. One example of core values is the Army Values. This can be remembered by the acronym LDRSHIP. L is loyalty, D is duty, R is respect, S is selfless service, H is honor, I is integrity, and P is personal courage (army.mil). This must be an all–around enforcement, not just from the top down. Standards and core values apply to all within an organization. No one is above or below them, what applies to one applies to all. Once standards and values are followed by all, sustainment training will come next. Training is essential, but how to conduct it is the question. It is a consensus felt throughout leadership, that it would be pointless to teach moral philosophy rank and file (Robinson, 2007, pg. 26). Also who would teach it? Narcissistic leaders are so caught up in their own needs and wants that they neglect those in both the organizations and those others that work there. They are about self–fulfillment and spend more time building their egos rather than building a sustainable organization. When their ideas and choices fail they blame others rather than taking accountability for their own actions and decisions, and that can cause anger and dissention among the people who work under the leader and that ends up hurting the organization and the future of it both it and the employees that work there. Covenant leaders have the ability to empower those who work in their organizations by "giving people meaningful work to do and treating them well as they do it" (Moisan, 2007 p. 95) as this stills trust both in the workers and by the leader. Conclusion This paper has looked at two different types of leadership styles and the traits that encompass those styles. One is like night and the other like day they are the opposite of each other in most every way. One of the ways that they do share a similarity is that given the circumstances both can in their own way be effective. Question is though can they both be sustainable for the long term. Narcissistic leadership styles are only as good as the leader can feel his or her own personal needs and agenda are being met.
