It is a well-known fact that Design Sprint is a very good technique – wonderful perhaps – but something incomplete (at least in its conception), that is for two reasons, 1.- it only allows you to concentrate on a single flow of a single product (what is not always optimal depending on the time and environment), and 2.- it facilitates you to fall into many inconsistencies that can end up affecting your entire UX process.
YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN:
* Ways to solve defects caused by focusing on a single flow of a single product
* What are the most common inconsistencies and possible ways to solve each of them
* Show a real case (my particular case) about how Sprint Design can be inserted in a UX macro process
Just because you are spending time on your phone or tablet doesn't mean you can't keep your brain healthy and active. We've listed four apps you can use to spark your memory when you are running low on study willpower.
All of these apps are free and available on Apple and Android. While these apps won't do your assignment for you, they might put you in a better frame of mind and give your brain the refresh it needs.
Strategic thinking is the manner in which leaders and followers in an organization think about, evaluate, examine, and construct a future for themselves and consequently the organization. It involves how we respond to the day to day activities as well as how we analyze potential problems and opportunities in the long term. The survival of any organization depends on the ability of its leaders and followers to think strategically. Strategic thinking identifies where we are now, and where we will be in the next 5 -10 -15 … years.
According to Hughes and Beatty Strategic thinking refers to cognitive processes required for the collection, interpretation, generation and evaluation of information and ideas that shape an organization’s sustainable competitive advantage.

Achieving Success in an Interdisciplinary TeamLeah Henrickson
Working in a team is hard. Everyone comes with their own experience, expertise, and opinions. How is anything supposed to get done?
We've spent three years working together to build a startup from scratch. Together, we identified three of the most important lessons we've learned about interdisciplinary teamwork.
1. Identify your shared vision and values.
2. Practise open communication.
3. Make - and stick to - clear plans.
However, we've all taken different things away from these lessons. That's why each of the following lessons is accompanied by our own individual elaborations.
Our different perspectives make us a stronger team.

How to make team collaboration suck less!Brian LaMee
Working with people can sometimes suck. You know how it goes, you have to get a team together, you hold countless (or pointless) meetings, nobody knows what the tasks are and who was supposed to do what, nobody can find the right documents or the right version and nobody can access any of the tools to share documents when you need them. This is usually the point where you just throw your hands up and scream, “FORGET IT, I WILL JUST DO IT MYSELF!”
But for most things, you can’t do it all by yourself. You need to collaborate with other members of your team, or other teams in the company or maybe even people outside your organization. Tools have always helped us make things suck less. The airplane made it suck less to get across the ocean, calculators made it suck less to do complex mathematical calculations and now the Cloud and Collaboration tools are making it suck less to work on projects and stay connected as teams.

In this deck, you will learn the significance of workplace discipline for organisational success. You’ll also learn
• Four (4) workplace discipline methods you should consider
• The best and most practical approach to implementing workplace discipline.
• Three (3) key tips to maintain a disciplined workplace.
Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

The most important dialogue.
The yearly cycle of

short meetings in the morning
(morning prayer), scrums,
project and programme
meetings.
Meetings with the colleagues
you work with. You can view
actual planning information
on the team intranet site. The

conversations with colleagues,
using yammer, socialcast or
other forms of social intranet.

MONITORING
In the organisation employees
are already discussing the
company policy. It’s interesting
to know how and where they
talk about it. Monitoring helps.
Most liked colleagues
It’s relevant to know who
starts discussions and who’s
participating in them. Who
posts reactions on the intranet
platform, et cetera. It’s good to
know what they are talking
about.

11. BRAINSPACE
With the arrival of new ways of working we sometimes forget to
facilitate the dialogue at the office. Working more and more in
teams or scrums (agile working) it’s a good thing to have spaces
available where these teams and scrums can meet. A place that is
perfect for brainstorms, planning boards and wild ideas. Digital,
but also in paper on the walls.
11
12. PIZZA SESSION
A pizza session is organised to
let colleagues thoroughly
discuss topics in an informal
atmosphere.
§ XXX
As a colleague you can present
a new project or idea. You can
use it to have a brainstorm
session on a topic or to
organise intervision.
A pizza session has an informal
setting, but colleagues are
supposed to give direct feedback.
12
13. WONDERWALL
A modern notice-board. It’s a
big wall in the central hall of
the company. Everybody can
post a message, ask a question
or make a suggestion for
improvement.
§ XXX
At the end of the week the
result is collected and questions
are answered. On that very
same notice-board.

14. MANAGEMENT TEAM
TOUR
It’s always a good idea when
management visits all the
offices. If you want to improve
the dialogue the following
helps: as MT don’t start with a
lecture on your new policy, but
ask the people from the office
to start with a presentation:
what are they working on, what
do they like about the
organisation? What are there
questions?, et cetera. The MT
listens and takes the stage after
this presentation.

SOCIAL MASHUP
An internal digital platform
where information is collected
of several digital platforms.
Users can see on one screen
what colleagues are chatting
about, which blogs were
published and the latest videohits.
Everybody can react on the
posts. The participants are the
source of information, not
Corporate Communications.
16
17. COMMUNITIES
An online platform is very
suitable for the start of several
communities: groups of
employees who share the
same interest at work.
§ XXX
Communities function best
when they are moderated by
someone who checks if the
information is still relevant and
up to date. The moderator can
also connect people,
questions and answers et
cetera.
17
18. ONLINE PANEL
A more structured form of
online dialogue is the online
panel discussion. A group of
colleagues is invited to discuss
a theme during three weeks.
A moderator helps to start the
discussion, makes a résumé
and combines story lines
when necessary.
After three weeks all
participants get a summary of
the discussion.
18
19. MANAGEMENT
PARTICIPATION ?
§ XXX
It is simple for a manager to
participate in a discussion on
internal social platforms.
But beware. It can improve the
discussion, but it can also kill it.
That depends on the
organisation and its culture.
In some cases employees
appreciate it, in others they
consider it “big brother is
watching me” and they back off.
19
20. 1000 FLOWERS
Corporate communications
tends to structure communities
top-down. That’s not necessary.
It is far more interesting to let
1000 flowers bloom. Facilitate
employees to organise
themselves on topics they find
interesting.
The Corporate
Communications department
has two tasks: to end
communities that are inactive
and to prevent that the same
discussion is held twice in
different communities.

MIND SHARE
Using internal social media
makes it much easier to find the
right talents in your
organisation. For work
purposes, but also for passions
and hobbies.
You can find that colleague
that speaks Spanish fluently.
Great when you have a blog
that needs translating. Online
you can find the right person
for the right job.
21
23. PECHA KUCHA
20 images, 20 seconds for
every image. In a Pecha Kucha
session colleagues present
their ideas to each other. In
images. The visuals and the
short amount of time makes it
possible to exchange many
ideas in a short amount of
time.
After the presentations you
can discuss the pros and cons
of each presentation.
23
24. OPEN SPACE
This meeting is different.
Participants decide on the
agenda. For every topic a flipchart is available. Participants join
the flip-over with the topic they
would like to discuss. Results are
written on the flip-over.
§ XXX
When participants are ready with
topic one, they can join an other
conversation. The Open Space is
ready when all finish discussing.
After that, the results are
gathered and discussed in the
whole group.
24
25. WEBINAR
A great way to communicate
with colleagues in different
locations. You can tell a story
or an interview. And there is
room to reply on statements
or ask questions.
It is also possible to start the
discussion in different
locations. In that case it’s more
a web conference.

Skype makes it possible to
exchange real-time words and

different locations.
Professionals, like designers, can
share their ideas (and

During this conversation it’s
possible to instruct and show
the newly adjusted work.
Making it easier to share up-todate information.

27. COLLABORATE WRITING
You don’t need sound to have a dialogue. With the new
document systems it is easy to write something together with a
colleague. Using revisions it is easy to notice what the other
contributed. And using facebook-like systems it is also possible
to read comments of your colleagues during the writing
process. An internal WIKI-plus.

TEST LABS
An easy way to exchange
knowledge is starting test labs.
Different teams start a new
technique using trial & error.
They share their experiences on
the internal social network.
Every month they meet to

best system will be the

30. COHERENCE
Do you need all these methods? No, of course not. It’s always
important to check which methods work in your organisation
and which don’t. Coherence and consistency are important.
The mix should be predictable. Employees should know where
to expect what sort of dialogue.
