2. Pacing- First half
• At the beginning of the scene when Sarah is
talking to Jessica and then talking to Paul the
cuts are slow. The first couple of shots last
about 3 seconds and then the shots involving
Paul last between 5 to 8 seconds.
3. Pacing- Second half
• During the car crash the pacing of shots increases in
speed so now each shot only lasts less than a second.
The last shot of the car and van is the longest shot in
the scene and a crane is used to create the shot. After
that the scene ends with a fade to black transition.
4. Effects
• Practical effects are used for when the car and van crash
together as well as the first two shots where the pipes fly
through the window.
• After this CGI is used to create the pipes when we see them
go through the window from the inside of cars perspective,
this is to insure the safety of the actors involved.
5. Effects part 2
• The final practical effect in the scene is used when the
pipe goes through Pauls head and through the chair.
They use a blood pack to insure the safety of the actor.
6. Focus
• When Sarah is first talking to Jess the focus is
on them, Paul can barely be seen in the shot,
instead he is constantly looking forward this is
to symbolise that Sarah is looking at the past
and her life with Paul and Jess unlike Paul
who's looking forward and into his future with
Juno.
