2. Task brief
• The Task Brief: Continuity task involving
filming and editing a character opening a door,
crossing a room and sitting down in a chair
opposite another character, with whom
she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of
dialogue. This task should demonstrate match
on action, shot reverse shot and the 180-
degree rule.
3. Match on match shot
• This is where the camera
is looking at a character
while they are looking at
something or about do an
action such as walking
towards a closed door
then through editing they
will then cut to the action
such as the actors hand
gripping the doorknob and
turning it.
4. Shot reverse shot
• This is normally used
when referring to a
conversation between two
people. It is one of the
most commonly used
techniques in film and so
Is hardly noticed by the
audience. The most
common version of this is
an over the shoulder shot
as it identifies both
characters in the shot so
you know they are having
a conversation.
5. 180˚ rule
• This is an unspoken rule but is imperative to the fluidity of a
scene as if not stuck to it can ruin the shot and make it
confusing for the audience a good example of this is
someone being chased the person either has to be filmed
in only 180˚ otherwise if the camera man goes beyond this
it looks like they are running in the opposite direction.

I have chosen these two actors as they are both
confident and so I believe they will portray a
confident and convincing scene
7. Location
• The location of the scene will be in and
outside the school café it will also incorporate
the hallway outside the café
