Setting

The game is set in the X-men universe full of mutants. The game takes you to a
destroyed utopia once home to mutants but it was destroyed when mankind sent
sentinels to kill all the mutants. This cutscene is set around Cable, a mutant from the
future, who has come to give Deadpool a dire warning from his time. However,
Deadpool isn’t interested and a start talking to himself with the personalities in his
mind, rides a kids ride and eventually decides to shoot himself so he doesn’t have to
listen to Cable.

Mood

Cables theme lets you know that you’re in the presence of a badass, and the lack of
any background music and the sound of loud wind lets the player feel like they’re in
a wasteland, setting the mood of loneliness.
The Deadpool game is a simple beat em up game, meaning better quality is put into
the sound effects that you likely to frequently here, e.g. the gun shot.

The music was probably composed on a
computer, the teleport sound effect may have
been made entirely using VSTi effects. The kids
ride squeaking might have been a manipulated
recording to give it a louder squeak. The gun shot
could have been something slamming against a
table then being normalised and loudened to
bring out the BANG sound.
They could have simply taken a mic outside in a
quiet area and recorded the sound of the breeze.

Game genre

Narrative

Cables theme song explains pretty much all you need to know about him.
Deadpool’s dialog lets the player realise what they’re meant to be doing at the same
time as providing the audience with hilarious content.

They are recorded in quiet rooms to prevent
background sounds ruining the recording’s
quality.
Songs and dialog were recorded in a sound studio.
