The Spiritual Lessons From Joshua
Introduction
Spiritual Lessons From Joshua
Joshua was deeply devoted to God, the God of Israel, and a loyal servant of Moses. He took charge
of Israel after the death of Moses, and he gave instructions to carry the Arc of the Covenant
across the Jordan River, which parted as did the Red Sea. He lead Israel around the city of Jericho
and the walls came tumbling down and he lead Israel s conquest of the promise land.
There has been no day like the day that God heeded Joshua s command for the sun to stand still for
one whole day. In light of all this it is interesting, even somewhat puzzling, that Joshua is not even
named by the apostle Paul as one of the great heroes of faith in Hebrews 11.
There are two hundred and one Bible references to Joshua, which leaves us with many valuable
lessons; there are very few more dramatic examples of faith in the entire Bible. So why did the
apostle Paul leave Joshua s name out of the list of the faithful in Hebrews 11?
Could it have been because the long list of Joshua s accomplishments over shadowed the man
himself? Or the things that God did through him were so great that the events actually eclipsed
Joshua deeds?
There are plenty of spiritual lessons to be found in the book of Joshua. I just wish to highlight a
few here are seven of them.
First, good leaders must first be good servants.
Second, impossible situations provide glorious opportunities to trust God.
Third, the key to strength and courage is God s abiding presence.

Causes Of The New Deal
The Great Depression of the 1930 s became one of the United States biggest tragedies and placed
stress upon millions of Americans and their families. President Franklin Roosevelt became every
American s hopeful savior. During this decade of depression, President Roosevelt created the New
Deal blueprint, which included many Federal Agencies, otherwise known as Alphabet Soup, that
focused on addressing the roots of the Great Depressionand ways to fix them. The main agencies of
the New Dealwere the: Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA), Civilian Conservation
Corps (CCC), National Recovery Administration (NRA), Social SecurityAdministration (SSA),
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and Works Progress Administration (WPA). The New Deal was
a successful plan, which included many federal agencies; although most of the agencies were
successful, the relief agencies were the most successful.
President Roosevelt s Alphabet Soup Agencies were created based on his three r s mission:
relief, recovery, and reform. His idea of relief was giving direct aid to the homeless and
unemployed. His goal for his idea of recovery was fixing the economy and focusing on creating
jobs and establishing new successful small businesses. Lastly, President Roosevelt s goal for the
nation s reform was to solve issues within the federal government and create new federal agencies
that would prevent another Great Depression. These three R s were the basis of his New Deal
project and the foundations of every Alphabet Soup Agency.
The recovery based Agriculture Adjustment Administration (AAA), was the first federal program
to place a limit on agricultural production. During the World War One (WWI), agricultural
production was very profitable for Americans because many European countries were unable to
produce large amounts of agriculture, so American agriculture was always in high demand. After
WWI ended, Europeans were able to begin to restore their agricultural industry; thus, making
American agriculture in low demand. This caused items like corn to go from $1.20 per bushel to
26 cents per bushel. Not only agriculture prices retract back to prewar prices, but farmers began
losing their land due to a decline in the earning power of

Behavioral Mimicry in Superior Subordinate Exchanges
Introduction
Communication extends far past the act of speaking. From the time we are born, we communicate
with the people around us without having language as a medium. Instead, babies convey their
thoughts, emotions, wants, and needs with their face and body. As babies turn into children, and
children into adults, this facet of communication is marginalized and body language seems to
become something far less important than spoken language. Subconsciously, however, the ways
other s bodies and faces are held have a great impact on the way people interpret words. One
nuanced aspect of body language is behavioral mimicry s place in forming bonds between people.
This paper will discuss the effects, and a potential application, of unconscious mirroring and
mimicking in social interactions. To clarify any confusion, usage of mirroring and mimicking are
synonymous throughout the paper. Unconscious mirroring would not be possible without body
language. This unspoken communication is most commonly split up into two classifications: facial
cues, and bodily cues or movements. Unfortunately, the complexity of human movements has
yielded experiments that operationalize each drastically differently. For simplicity, we will use Peter

With the continuous deterioration of the global environment and increasingly serious ecological
problems, it is imperative to promote the sustainable development of the earth. The high speed
economic development and urbanization promote the rapid development of construction industry,
expand the industrial scale, upgrade the industrial structure, and enhance the project quality.
Promoting the sustainable development of construction industry in line with the basic requirement
of energy saving and ecological protecting have become important tasks that are attached more
importance. Under the background of advocating sustainable development, the construction energy
conservation and emission reduction are impossible to ignore. Green construction and its relative
technology have emerged and become the hot issue of in future research.
Currently, the concept of green construction project management has gained popularity and
recognition, but there still exist a number of problems such as ambiguous consciousness of green
construction, immature management technology and poor working competence, etc. The overall
planning of green construction project is the starting point of the implementation of the entire green

Diplomacy in the United States and Saudi Arabia
Growing up being a diplomat has always been a career I wanted to pursue. When I was in
elementary school my best friend s father was diplomat for the State Department. He would
constantly tell me stories of his travels from living in South Africa, Germany, and Thailand. I
already loved traveling and I was so in love with this job because the career would be receiving a
check for something I already love to do. However it is not only about the traveling this job has
many benefits including being able to resolve world issues and help un developed countries with
their issues. Being a diplomat for the U.S government requires many requirements. There are not
many educational requirements a college degree is sufficient enough. What is really needed is to
pass the Foreign Service Exam. This exam consists of a written exam, oral interview, and a
negotiating exercise. After passing the test a medical and security clearance is then required.
Passing all those will allow you to be selected into the Foreign Service for the United States
government. This process is said to be more selective than Harvard University (Working Abroad).
Although being selected and qualifying for this process would be very honorable I am fortunate
enough to have a father and family members with great ties in the Saudi Arabian government. My

How Does Sodium Chloride Solution Affect The Amount Of...
How did the amount of Sodium Citrate, an anticoagulant, added to a Calcium Chloride solution
affect the volume of the clots formed when a sodium alginate solution, a blood simulation, was
introduced?
Mackenzie Keesor (Fall Semester 2017 2018)
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to observe the differences in the formation of simulated blood
clots when different amounts of sodium citrate, an anticoagulant, was added to the coagulation
process, which would help gain information about the process that could potentially be used to
create medications for different blood clotting disorders.
Background Information
The average adult human body consists of approximately 4.7 to 5.5 liters of blood. This blood
has many important functions. One function of blood in the human body is to create blood
clots. When a person has external bleeding, a blood clot is formed to stop the bleeding as
quickly as possible. Blood clots are made by proteins in your blood called fibrins [that] work
with small blood cell fragments called platelets (American Heart Association, What is Excessive
Blood Clotting ). This process of creating a blood clot is known as the coagulation process.
Blood clots are then broken down by the body after the bleeding subsides. However, the blood
shouldn t clot when it s just moving through the body. If blood tends to clot too much, it is referred
to as a hypercoagulable state or thrombophilia (Bartholomew, Blood Clotting Disorders ). Excessive

Catcher In The Rye Symbolism
Catcher in the Rye Formal Essay In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, J.D Salinger uses
symbolism to detail and characterize Holden on his journey of discovery and coming of age. Using
this to his advantage, Salinger repeatedly uses symbols to demonstrate Holden s unconscious
resistance towards change and thereby his fear of growing up. Throughout the novel we see how
this character is being unraveled through three symbols: his childish interests towards the ducks in
central park, his fondness of the Museum of Natural History, and his misinterpretation of lyrics of
the poem Coming Thro the Rye. Holden s infatuation with the ducks becomes apparent from very
early in the book and establishes not only the beginnings of his character but also his childish
thoughts and behaviors.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s all I d do all day. (Salinger 173) For Holden his dream to become the Catcher in the Rye
idealizes his own vision and view of growing up. His description of himself catching children
from falling of a crazy cliff, is symbolic of his desire to safeguard children s innocence from
falling off the cliff which represents the fall to adulthood and therefore loss of innocence. Just
like how the truck comes saves the ducks from the hardships of winter, Holden sees himself as
the savior which rescues the children from the hardships of growing up. It is however this very
desire to save someone else, in which Holden uses as an excuse to distance and comfort himself
from accepting the fact that he the one who fears growing up. In addition, Holden s
misinterpretation of the lyrics from body meet a body refers to two people meeting in the rye and
having sex. This is in complete contrast with his own more innocent interpretation of body catch a
body, which inspired his crazy dream. It further shows how

As a result of increased corruption in the Catholic Church, a significant number of priests in the

Initially, priests channeled much of their efforts in reforming the church, but they discovered that it

Reformations Theological Issues
Luther identified three major principles that were acknowledged by other Protestant factions.
According to the theological premises, all Christians are mandated to believe in the Scripture s
primacy. The idea means that the Biblical literal meaning should be favored in contrast to any
learned or conventional readings. Christians are also supposed to reject anything not founded in
Scripture. Secondly, justification is by faith alone, and Christians through believing will be saved,
and not by their good works; as maintained by the Catholic Church. The other premise is the
priesthood of the believer. The idea meant that it was not ideal to consider ordained priests as the
true spiritual estate members. Priesthood was eliminated by Luther in Protestant Churches though
some still make use of pastors or ministers to lead.
Apart from the three principals, the Eucharist sacrament was also elucidated by Luther with
reference to consubstantiation. Consubstantiation refers to the assurance that Christ is indeed
present in the Eucharist celebration. The belief is also similar to the transubstantiation doctrine.
However, in the transubstantiation doctrine, it is believed that wine and bread factually change to

Usually the color black will be used to draw the outlines of the subject or an object but Kandinsky
uses the color to show the depth of an emotion. Kandinsky is more of a composer than an artist,
simply because it composes his painting rather than painting them. No color has its own meaning.
When colors are mixed together, they create a meaning together. Kandinsky lets the energy of one
color to flow from one to another.
For instance, the color blue next to green creates an entirely different feeling inside a person
rather than when placed next to red. It is a composition of colors and textures on a canvas.
Kandinsky s paintings have given a new meaning to music to the deaf viewers. For a person, who
has never heard of music, Kandinsky s painting will be a life changing experience.
Kandinsky did almost 30 preparatory drawings but it is so stunning to learn that after all the
preparatory exercises, he executed the painting in less than four days. The preparatory of this
painting includes fifteen other variants. And the variants include drawings, water colors, wood cuts,
and oil paintings on the related themes. It is said
Wassily Kandinsky Composition VII4 that, Kandinsky s composition VII is a combination of the
resurrection of the Christ, The last judgement, and The Garden of Love in an operatic outburst of
pure painting.

who leads the young heroes into their quest to annihilate the Count, to Rupert Giles, the Watcher in

the younger protagonists of the genre. The differences in media of expression and the subsequent

The Dynamics of Brice Family
Brice Family Dynamics
Presenting Problems Overall, the Brice family has some clear issues that are causing stress for
everyone, including their adolescent daughter Claudia. The family did not believe in the power
of family therapy, yet they had little places to turn to in response to Claudia s growing anger
problems. They had tried therapy before, but to no avail. We are introduced to their problems both
from a description of the anger between each other and their own explanations of what is going on.
Their son Don is absent, both literally and figuratively, showing how he tends to avoid the overall
family struggles. Claudia s role in the family dynamic was described early on by her mother, yet
this explanation was done in a very isolating way for Claudia. Her mother explained her strange
ideas, but that only invoked a strong and angry reaction from Claudia herself. In fact, the two
seemed to feed off one another in terms of their anger. It is clear that the main issues were a
discrepancy between what Claudia wanted her life to be like and the heightened rules and
expectations her family was imposing on her. Mother and daughter continuously engaged in
fighting, clearly not seeing each others point of view, but too caught up in their own emotional
reactions regarding the situation. The fact that Don wasn t present just put more highlight on
Claudia, and showed how the family viewed her as the problem, not taking responsibility for it
themselves. This was felt by

Next is an example of Aubrey where she avoided other girls in the group because of conflict over
the songs for the set in semi finals. Aubrey did not want to listen to what others in the group were

It s distinct that nonverbal communication, interpersonal conflict, and deceptive communication are
clear concepts of communication that are depicted in this film. By observing these types of
communication during the film, I ve learned how to pay more attention to nonverbal
communication like facial expressions that do not match the verbal message someone is
conveying. I ve noticed the way groups learn how to work together and come to a good
compromise and accommodate with one another to accomplish a common goal. In addition to
these, attempting to spot deception was a little more difficult to do with this film starting out.
Deception is very accurately portrayed in Pitch Perfect, and by noticing these deceptive tendencies I
learned how vocal tone and facial expressions could be very deceiving to other individuals. In order
to see deceptive cues, you have to notice these changes in tone in the voice, and the expressions one

nonverbal communication, interpersonal conflict, and deceptive communication by representing all

Selective Breeding and Mammal Cloning
Demonstrate understanding of human manipulations of genetic transfer and its biological

Selective breeding is the result of human manipulation of genetic transfer. It uses the same principle
as natural selection. However, natural selection is the process of selection by the environment
whereas;selective breeding is a form artificial selection by humans. Hence, selective breeding can
be defined as the artificial process by which desirable or specific traits are selected to produce ideal
breed of animals.
This process of artificial selection is nothing recent as agriculture began thousands of years ago.
Selective breeding however did commence with selection of plants containingdesired traits with the
purpose of producing bigger and easier to harvest grains with a greater yield.
As the decades progressed, technology became widespread and selective breeding started
producing animals for meat, milk, clothes, eggs and several other human desires. Due to selective
breeding, a smaller number of animals were required yet they produced a large amounts and better
quality products. This was possible as the animals were being genetically manipulatedso that they
contained desired traits.
Similar is the case of birds especially chickens and turkeys whose are meat widely popular in a
range of cuisines. There are two different types of

The Rise of Big Business
The Rise of Big Business
The decades after the Civil War rapidly changed the face of the United States. The rapid
industrialization of the nation changed us from generally agrarian to the top industrial power in
the world. Business tycoons thrived during this time, forging great business empires with the use
of trusts and pools. Farmers moved to the cities and into the factories, living off wages and
changing the face of the workforce. This rapid industrialization created wide gaps in society, and
the government, which had originally taken a hands off approach to business, was forced to step in.
1.Many individuals took advantage of the rapid industrialization and high influx of cheap labor in

The federal government also aided in the development of a transcontinental railroad by offering
compensation and land for each mile that Railroad companies built. Because of this, the United
States was quickly brought together from east to west by the railroad. Time zones were
implemented because the railroads needed a standard time to go by, a prime example of the
power of change that industry possessed. Steel sprung up as a major industry in the late 19th
century as well. Carnegie started his steel factories in Pittsburgh, opening many new jobs and
aiding in the trend of urbanization. The steel industry flourished and in 1901 the United States
Steel Corporation was worth over $1.4 billion, the country s first billion dollar corporation. The oil
industry also grew exponentially as America expanded. John D. Rockefeller created the Standard Oil
Company, monopolizing the competition on the way to becoming the richest man in history. The
demand for oil products was bolstered tremendously by the invention of the automobile and the gas
powered engine gave the oil business a highly profitable market. One of the most influential
inventions of the time period was the telephone, introduced by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. An
enormous communications network was rapidly constructed on this invention. The invention of

Chinese Medicine Vs Greek Medicine Essay
Similarities and Differences between Greek and Chinese Medicine When one compares Greek
medical philosophy to Chinese medical philosophy there will be distinct similarities and differences
that stand out. These similarities and differences become apparent when comparing natural and
supernatural beliefs, as well as when researching the functions and physiology of the body itself.
Another fascinating point, both Greek and Chinese medical philosophybelieved in magic and used it
when practicing medicine. Both philosophies believed in the idea of dramatic wind change in

These phenomena arose from the relationships of metal, wood, fire, water, and soil. Thusly, water

Arnie In What s Eating Gilbert Grape
First off, I would like to begin by saying I am truly appalled by the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio
did not win an Oscar for his role as Arnie in What s Eating Gilbert Grape. The entire time I was
watching the movie, I was stunned by his performance, questioning whether or not he had an
actual mental disability, even though I know he does not. By doing my research, I discovered
that prior to filming, Leo visited a school for mentally ill and autistic teenagers, adopting the
characteristics of voice, manner, and behavior from the different students at the school. By putting
all of these different characteristics together, he created his own character who was the true
center of this film. The storyline of the movie is more based on the life of Gilbert Grape, played
by Johnny Depp. Gilbert lives in the small, Midwestern town of Endora, Iowa with his two sisters,

Propaganda And Persuasion During The Russian Civil War
During the 1918 Russian Civil War, there was news depicting Leon Trotsky as the leader of the

For Esme With Love and Squalor
1) In For Esme With Love and Squalor, J.D. Salinger addresses a part of every person s life.
Everyone experiences periods in their life when they question the world and what is happening
around them. Most people probably do not experience it quite as dramatic as the writer of the story,
Sergeant X, does. He finds himself in the middle of the pure madness of war, and is having a hard
time coping with the realities of the situation. Eventually, people find their way of dealing with
these moments. Sergeant X relies on his memories of Esme to help him. The theme of the story is
that the innocence of youth can serve as a healing power in times when the world seems to be falling

We experience the pain and suffering that he endures. We are also able to understand how Esme s
innocence is able to end that suffering.
4) The main characters in the story help to illustrate the theme by contrasting the two different
worlds in the story. Esme, although she only knows the writer for a short time, has a profound
impact on him. Esme is intelligent, but it is obvious that she is trying much too hard to impress the
author. Her dramatic vocabulary and over use of the word extremely is childish and annoying.
During the choir practice the coach says that children should ...absorb the meanings of the words
they sing, not just mouth them, like silly billy parrots.
5) However, it is not the intelligence she displays, it is her innocence and child like appearance
that the writer concentrates on the most. We are told before she approaches that she is giving
qualified smiles , or appearing sexually mature. The way he describes her crossed ankles and feet
as being lovely, further supports the characteristics of her being naГЇve and not sexually alluring.
The author also notes Esme s lack of compassion, this also adds to the idea of her as being innocent
and unaware of the realities of war. She describes her father as being S L A I N. This is later used
at the end of the story to mock Esme s naГЇve remark that he returns from the war with all his
faculties intact.

The Satirical Nature Of Tartuffe By Moliere
Wendy Ifenso Okpala

WR 150
The Satirical Nature of Tartuffe The French play, Tartuffe, was written by Moliere in 1664. The
major theme in this play is exposing what is wrong in the religious society and Moliere uses
comedy to point out this out. This idea agrees with Highet, and Robert Corrigan s definition of a
satire. The first definition made by Highet is that a satire aims to expose what is wrong in our
society as Moliere tries to do with religious hypocrites. The second definition by Corrigan Robert
states that a satirists do not usually attack institutions, rather, they attack perversion of institutions
which ties back to Moliere s main point of this play. Although certain aspects of farce and comedy
are present in this play such as the nature of the characters used and the happy ending, we have to
remember Highet s idea in The Anatomy of Satire, where he explains that farce, which causes
unreasoning merriment is related to a satire. Moliere, whose original name was Jean Baptiste
Poquelin, always wrote about basic flaws seen around him, the catholic church being one of them.
He showed the troubles he had with the religious community through his characters. For example,
Tartuffethe religious hypocrite is constantly overlooked by Orgon, who is the head of the
household and his mother Madame Pernelle. However, Dorine the wise maid, and Cleante the
brother in law, are able to see what other community members usually ignore. Moliere incorporates
these ideas

Growing a Garden in Death of a Salesman
Growing a Garden
In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses motifs and symbols to express some of the problems
of the main character, Willy. Miller motivates Willy to start a garden in the backyard of his
apartment, even though the garden won t grow. This showed Willy to be the type who does not
accept defeat, as he believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t.
Although filled with the desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so
due to his apartment and his thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly
due to the environment his apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of
symbolism used to develop the idea of the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into
his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a garden. This modern society shadows over his house,
keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the past. This leads to the way the modern world is run,
and because it is different than what Willy can handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The
modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but the irony being that not only does Willy not
have the money to move on from his house and into a place where he could grow a garden, he
simply doesn t want to. He wishes to stay, but needs money to pay off the house. His lack of
money is expressed as Linda mentions for him not to forget to ask for a little advance (53). What

Misconceptions Of Nitrates And Nitrites
The Misconception Concerning Nitrates and Nitrites With new advances in technology and
innovations in the medical field, the implementation of chemicals and preservatives into
consumables has changed the way food is manufactured. Recently, negative light has surrounded the
products that include these additives. More specifically, the consumption of nitrates and nitrites has
caught the attention of many and led to further investigations concerning this topic to decipher the
possible health risks or benefits that can come from their ingestion. The usage of nitrates and
nitrites in products has a negative connotation, however, it only poses a threat in specific
conditions, and is otherwise proved to have beneficial and common traits. These specific... Show

Nitrates and nitrites are added to processed meat in order to preserve their color and prolong their
shelf life. When exposed to the protein, or amino acids, in these meats, they are capable of forming
compounds called nitrosamines when exposed to high temperatures (Healthy Child Healthy
World). Cooking processed meat creates the perfect conditions for nitrosamines, which can be lethal
carcinogens. More recently, the government has mandated that the manufacturers add Vitamin C,
which inhibits nitrosamine formation (National Center for Biotechnology Information). This shows
that the processed meats being manufactured daily have been regulated to significantly decrease the
probability of the negative effects of chemicals such as nitrate and nitrite. By moderation and
awareness, these issues can easily be avoided and even seem insignificant. An individual could
manage their consumption of meat and choose organic, lean subsitutes, or even consume more

Tap Water Research Papers
What s really in our tap water?
If one thing s for sure, it s the fact that we take the safety of our water for granted but would you
be surprised to hear that accidents occur every single year? These accidents make our drinking
water unfit for human consumption yet in spite of this, it still pours from our kitchen taps in
thousands and thousands of households up and down the country. Concerns are raised continually
about the presence of pesticides, gender altering chemicals and numerous other toxins, of which
excess amounts can prove extremely dangerous if undiscovered. What s more, the majority of
these tap water contaminants are added with purpose. So the question lies, what s really in our tap
water and is it as safe as we really think?
Tap water contaminants to think about
Would you be surprised to learn that Chlorine is physically added to your tap water? Liquid
chlorine is actually added in order to kill bacteria despite the fact that cryptosporidium is extremely
resistant to it. Chlorine also happens to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early studies highlighted the fact that fish were beginning to change sex due to the occurrence of
certain chemicals found in our water. The focus then naturally shifted to the effects of such
chemicals on human fertility after it s shown such a decline in recent years. While water companies
claim to operate under very strict guidelines and codes of practice to prevent cements, linings and
plastic resins running in to our water supply, there have been a number of incidents in which
contamination prevention has quite clearly failed. Pesticides have also come under scrutiny after it
s been revealed they work their way into the ground and river systems from agriculture and even
households. It s these pesticides that are then mimicking the actions of hormones in the body and
have been suspected as a major cause of hormone related cancers in industrially developed

Zapzalka Farm Research Paper
The world and its great variety of places have had an impact on my life, but only one has turned
me into the person I am today. My home, Zapzalka Farms, is the foundation of my life. Who
would have thought a small farm just four miles north of the little town called Bowlus would
teach a young man so many valuable lessons about working hard and strong moral values?
Looking in from the driveway, I see the house where I grew up, the two story structure
composed of 115 year old crusty yellow concrete brick surrounded by flower beds and 50 foot
cedar trees. This house has helped me through everything, from birthday parties as a child, to
writing Comp papers as a student, I do not know where I would be without it. As I make my way
down the driveway surrounded by seven foot cornfields like a mouse searching its... Show more

When I make my way to the end of the driveway and out of the cornfields, I become enclosed by
yellow, tin sided buildings filled with cattle and machinery. Some people may consider them
just buildings to keep the cattle from running away, or to keep the machinery dry. I look at them
and see the building blocks of my life and think of all of the memories that have been created,
and the stories that can be told. As I look around the yard one building stands out the most, the
shop. The shop is a 50x52 foot structure with 14 foot yellow tin side walls and two massive
overhead doors in the front. In between the doors is a filthy window with stringy white cobwebs
draping from the corners, which should probably be cleaned sometime soon. Above the window
hangs an old wooden sign in which my Grandpa had engraved Zapzalka Farms , along with a
miniature green tractor painted in the corner. When I walk in the door, I take a deep breath and
smell the sweet smell of grease and oil along with the blaring noise of dad using the hand

My First Love
My First Love, Yeah, I don t really know what I am doing with myself anymore. When we started
dating I was confused and scared. I pushed you away. I know and I feel horrible about it. I didn t
mean to but I just didn t know how to express my feelings for you and I don t do well with
embarrassment or compliments. And It s easy for me to get embarrassed when someone I like
says something nice to me or about me. Later on I heard that you had done some unfavorable
things to people I was close to and I became conflicted. Then my friend told me that he wished for
me to break up with you. We talk often about me breaking up with you. People thought that I didn t
really loveyou, to be honest I wasn t really sure if I loved you. Then thanksgiving came around
and I couldn t see you or talk to you everyday, so I wished to see you everyday. Though that didn
t come through because I ignored you. Though it wasn t intentional at first as time passed I was
afraid of answering you because I didn t know what to say. I stopped talking because you insisted
on buying me a Christmas gift. Which is a nice gesture but I didn t want you to buy me anything
because I was fine with just having you. The last day we were together Jaden said you were upset
with me and I understood why I mean I did ignore you that that hurt you so much. But when you
said you would ignore me the rest of the day it made me really upset, Instead of being mature and
ignoring that comment since I knew you weren t going to

Tax File Memorandum
To: Brett Ouray
Facts
Kathy and Brett Ouray were married in 1996. In 2014, they consider themselves completely
estranged. Due to financial reasons they have decided to not get a divorce or live separately. They
also do not have any legal documentation of separation and neither of them has lived outside the
home for a significant amount of time. They currently reside together with their three children.
They have decided that Brett has contributed more to the upkeep of their home and children than
Kathy. They have also decided to file separately. Brett believes he is eligible to file for head of
household.
Question Presented
Is Brett Ouray eligible to file for head of household? If not, how ... Show more content on

The joint liability could cause issues for both parties if there were more tax liabilities or an audit
was found in the IRS s favor. When a joint return is filed personal exemptions are allowed for both
spouses and exemptions for dependents can be claimed for all dependents.
The other option afforded to the Ouray s is to file separately as a married couple. Filing
separately can be advantages under special circumstances. However, if the couple was to file
separately, there are several restrictions. First being, that if one spouse cannot demonstrate more
than one half of a child s support is provided by them, a multiple support agreement must be filed.
Next, if one taxpayer itemizes their deductions they must both take itemized deduction and same
goes if one person takes a standard deduction, the other must as well. If filing status was to be
separate, neither spouse can claim the earned income credit and the credit for child and dependent
care expenses. Next, no deduction is allowed for the interest paid on educations loans, and only
$1,500 of excess capital losses can be claimed by each person.
From a tax planning perspective, more details would have to be known about the Ouray s
expenses in order to determine the best course of action. To address the original question of ability
to file head of household, Brett is unable to, because he is still married and living in same
household as his

What Are The Similarities Between Egypt And Mesopotamian...
In today s modern world, there are a multitude of cultures, each one unique in its own aspect.
Whether it be by the gods they worship, the clothes they wear, the language they speak, or the
many other factors associated with culture, each one originated from somewhere at some point in
time. It is the job of archeologists and researchers worldwide to uncover the deep secrets left behind
by ancient societies and to reconstruct the first civilizations known to mankind. The first urban
cultures discovered were those of Mesopotamiaand Egypt, which were founded between 4000 3000
BCE. Both Mesopotamian and Egyptian cultures formed near bodies of water, which became the
focal point of their society and means of survival. Many of the cultures that... Show more content on

Cuneiform was a building block for today s modern written language, which came to be in order
to record the distribution of goods and services by farming peoples and officials. It evolved into
a widespread form of communication after people realized that the marks could also be used to
represent words and sounds. Aside from using cuneiform for trade transactions, Mesopotamians
also used it to record their religious ideas. From the Sumerian Origins of Writing, one of the
ideas developed by a Sumerian tells of Enmerkar, the Lord of Kulaba, who they believe to have
created cuneiform in order to deliver a complicated message that he did not entrust the messenger
to recall. Since formerly, the writing of messages on clay was not [established] and the transmitted
message was just nails to the messenger, it could be possible that the lord of Aratta was not
angered by the message, but by the fact that he could not read it either as it was just newly

Nature Of Human Knowledge In Tom Stoppard s Arcadia
When asked to name the greatest plays of the past, most individuals would recall plays written by
William Shakespeare, such as Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet. Although his writing style is different
and he is not as well known as Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, author of Arcadia, is of equal talent.
Arcadia, arguably one of the greatest works of the modern time, is a Victorian English play that
was published in 1993. The play is set in Sidley Park, a country house of Derbyshire, and switches
between the past, 1809 to 1812, and the present, 1993. The play follows the lives of both the past
and present guests and staff of the Coverly family. The main present guests, Hannah Jarvis,
Valentine Coverly, and Bernard Nightingale, investigate as the events that unfolded for the past
guests, Thomasina Coverly and Septimus Hodge. Deep philosophical and scientific themes are
intertwined into the plot as the characters attempt to develop an understanding of the world that
they live in. Of these philosophical themes, the most important one is the fragile nature of human
knowledge. Throughout Arcadia, Stoppard ingrains that the concept that knowledge is not as stable
of a foundation for understanding the universe. Stoppard reveals the existence of this theme
through examples of its limited lifetime and tie to emotions; Additionally, he believes it is the most
important theme due to its instability of arrogant nature.
In the play, Stoppard evidently shows that human knowledge is fragile because of

Should Female Contruction Workers Earn the Same Wages as Male
Ever since women have been able to vote, there have been more rights for women everywhere in
America. Somehow in construction working, women get lower paid than men. Should they be
paid the same as men? The working area is the same, so why is it that women have lower
payments because of their gender? This should be a new rule, for women have the same exact
rights as men. Everyone is working the same, so why not? Finally, this can reduce women strikes.
Working class women internalize their own oppression. These women learn the stereotypes that
define their lives at an early age. Working class women strive to maintain the traditional feminine
ideal while simultaneously struggling with the limitations of class.

  • 3. The Spiritual Lessons From Joshua Introduction Spiritual Lessons From Joshua Joshua was deeply devoted to God, the God of Israel, and a loyal servant of Moses. He took charge of Israel after the death of Moses, and he gave instructions to carry the Arc of the Covenant across the Jordan River, which parted as did the Red Sea. He lead Israel around the city of Jericho and the walls came tumbling down and he lead Israel s conquest of the promise land. There has been no day like the day that God heeded Joshua s command for the sun to stand still for one whole day. In light of all this it is interesting, even somewhat puzzling, that Joshua is not even named by the apostle Paul as one of the great heroes of faith in Hebrews 11. There are two hundred and one Bible references to Joshua, which leaves us with many valuable lessons; there are very few more dramatic examples of faith in the entire Bible. So why did the apostle Paul leave Joshua s name out of the list of the faithful in Hebrews 11? Could it have been because the long list of Joshua s accomplishments over shadowed the man himself? Or the things that God did through him were so great that the events actually eclipsed Joshua deeds? There are plenty of spiritual lessons to be found in the book of Joshua. I just wish to highlight a few here are seven of them. First, good leaders must first be good servants. Second, impossible situations provide glorious opportunities to trust God. Third, the key to strength and courage is God s abiding presence. Fourth, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Causes Of The New Deal The Great Depression of the 1930 s became one of the United States biggest tragedies and placed stress upon millions of Americans and their families. President Franklin Roosevelt became every American s hopeful savior. During this decade of depression, President Roosevelt created the New Deal blueprint, which included many Federal Agencies, otherwise known as Alphabet Soup, that focused on addressing the roots of the Great Depressionand ways to fix them. The main agencies of the New Dealwere the: Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA), Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), National Recovery Administration (NRA), Social SecurityAdministration (SSA), Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and Works Progress Administration (WPA). The New Deal was a successful plan, which included many federal agencies; although most of the agencies were successful, the relief agencies were the most successful. President Roosevelt s Alphabet Soup Agencies were created based on his three r s mission: relief, recovery, and reform. His idea of relief was giving direct aid to the homeless and unemployed. His goal for his idea of recovery was fixing the economy and focusing on creating jobs and establishing new successful small businesses. Lastly, President Roosevelt s goal for the nation s reform was to solve issues within the federal government and create new federal agencies that would prevent another Great Depression. These three R s were the basis of his New Deal project and the foundations of every Alphabet Soup Agency. The recovery based Agriculture Adjustment Administration (AAA), was the first federal program to place a limit on agricultural production. During the World War One (WWI), agricultural production was very profitable for Americans because many European countries were unable to produce large amounts of agriculture, so American agriculture was always in high demand. After WWI ended, Europeans were able to begin to restore their agricultural industry; thus, making American agriculture in low demand. This caused items like corn to go from $1.20 per bushel to 26 cents per bushel. Not only agriculture prices retract back to prewar prices, but farmers began losing their land due to a decline in the earning power of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Superior-Subordinate Exchanges ERIC LIU A92044372 COGS 14A W16 PROFESSOR ROSSANO Behavioral Mimicry in Superior Subordinate Exchanges Introduction Communication extends far past the act of speaking. From the time we are born, we communicate with the people around us without having language as a medium. Instead, babies convey their thoughts, emotions, wants, and needs with their face and body. As babies turn into children, and children into adults, this facet of communication is marginalized and body language seems to become something far less important than spoken language. Subconsciously, however, the ways other s bodies and faces are held have a great impact on the way people interpret words. One nuanced aspect of body language is behavioral mimicry s place in forming bonds between people. This paper will discuss the effects, and a potential application, of unconscious mirroring and mimicking in social interactions. To clarify any confusion, usage of mirroring and mimicking are synonymous throughout the paper. Unconscious mirroring would not be possible without body language. This unspoken communication is most commonly split up into two classifications: facial cues, and bodily cues or movements. Unfortunately, the complexity of human movements has yielded experiments that operationalize each drastically differently. For simplicity, we will use Peter ... • 13. How Does Sodium Chloride Solution Affect The Amount Of... How did the amount of Sodium Citrate, an anticoagulant, added to a Calcium Chloride solution affect the volume of the clots formed when a sodium alginate solution, a blood simulation, was introduced? Mackenzie Keesor (Fall Semester 2017 2018) Purpose The purpose of this experiment was to observe the differences in the formation of simulated blood clots when different amounts of sodium citrate, an anticoagulant, was added to the coagulation process, which would help gain information about the process that could potentially be used to create medications for different blood clotting disorders. Background Information The average adult human body consists of approximately 4.7 to 5.5 liters of blood. This blood has many important functions. One function of blood in the human body is to create blood clots. When a person has external bleeding, a blood clot is formed to stop the bleeding as quickly as possible. Blood clots are made by proteins in your blood called fibrins [that] work with small blood cell fragments called platelets (American Heart Association, What is Excessive Blood Clotting ). This process of creating a blood clot is known as the coagulation process. Blood clots are then broken down by the body after the bleeding subsides. However, the blood shouldn t clot when it s just moving through the body. If blood tends to clot too much, it is referred to as a hypercoagulable state or thrombophilia (Bartholomew, Blood Clotting Disorders ). Excessive blood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Catcher In The Rye Symbolism Catcher in the Rye Formal Essay In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, J.D Salinger uses symbolism to detail and characterize Holden on his journey of discovery and coming of age. Using this to his advantage, Salinger repeatedly uses symbols to demonstrate Holden s unconscious resistance towards change and thereby his fear of growing up. Throughout the novel we see how this character is being unraveled through three symbols: his childish interests towards the ducks in central park, his fondness of the Museum of Natural History, and his misinterpretation of lyrics of the poem Coming Thro the Rye. Holden s infatuation with the ducks becomes apparent from very early in the book and establishes not only the beginnings of his character but also his childish thoughts and behaviors.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s all I d do all day. (Salinger 173) For Holden his dream to become the Catcher in the Rye idealizes his own vision and view of growing up. His description of himself catching children from falling of a crazy cliff, is symbolic of his desire to safeguard children s innocence from falling off the cliff which represents the fall to adulthood and therefore loss of innocence. Just like how the truck comes saves the ducks from the hardships of winter, Holden sees himself as the savior which rescues the children from the hardships of growing up. It is however this very desire to save someone else, in which Holden uses as an excuse to distance and comfort himself from accepting the fact that he the one who fears growing up. In addition, Holden s misinterpretation of the lyrics from body meet a body refers to two people meeting in the rye and having sex. This is in complete contrast with his own more innocent interpretation of body catch a body, which inspired his crazy dream. It further shows how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

KEITH GOAD LIBERTY UNIVERSITY NOVEMBER 05, 2013 As a result of increased corruption in the Catholic Church, a significant number of priests in the 16th century tried to transform Christianity back to its previous Biblical basis and simplicity. Initially, priests channeled much of their efforts in reforming the church, but they discovered that it was very challenging, and the only viable solution was to split completely from the Catholic Church . Reformations Theological Issues Luther identified three major principles that were acknowledged by other Protestant factions. According to the theological premises, all Christians are mandated to believe in the Scripture s primacy. The idea means that the Biblical literal meaning should be favored in contrast to any learned or conventional readings. Christians are also supposed to reject anything not founded in Scripture. Secondly, justification is by faith alone, and Christians through believing will be saved, and not by their good works; as maintained by the Catholic Church. The other premise is the priesthood of the believer. The idea meant that it was not ideal to consider ordained priests as the true spiritual estate members. Priesthood was eliminated by Luther in Protestant Churches though some still make use of pastors or ministers to lead. Apart from the three principals, the Eucharist sacrament was also elucidated by Luther with reference to consubstantiation. Consubstantiation refers to the assurance that Christ is indeed present in the Eucharist celebration. The belief is also similar to the transubstantiation doctrine. The Dynamics of Brice Family Brice Family Dynamics Presenting Problems Overall, the Brice family has some clear issues that are causing stress for everyone, including their adolescent daughter Claudia. The family did not believe in the power of family therapy, yet they had little places to turn to in response to Claudia s growing anger problems. They had tried therapy before, but to no avail. We are introduced to their problems both from a description of the anger between each other and their own explanations of what is going on. Their son Don is absent, both literally and figuratively, showing how he tends to avoid the overall family struggles. Claudia s role in the family dynamic was described early on by her mother, yet this explanation was done in a very isolating way for Claudia. Her mother explained her strange ideas, but that only invoked a strong and angry reaction from Claudia herself. In fact, the two seemed to feed off one another in terms of their anger. It is clear that the main issues were a discrepancy between what Claudia wanted her life to be like and the heightened rules and expectations her family was imposing on her. Mother and daughter continuously engaged in fighting, clearly not seeing each others point of view, but too caught up in their own emotional reactions regarding the situation. The fact that Don wasn t present just put more highlight on Claudia, and showed how the family viewed her as the problem, not taking responsibility for it themselves. This was felt by ... The major theme in this play is exposing what is wrong in the religious society and Moliere uses comedy to point out this out. This idea agrees with Highet, and Robert Corrigan s definition of a satire. The first definition made by Highet is that a satire aims to expose what is wrong in our society as Moliere tries to do with religious hypocrites. The second definition by Corrigan Robert states that a satirists do not usually attack institutions, rather, they attack perversion of institutions which ties back to Moliere s main point of this play. Although certain aspects of farce and comedy are present in this play such as the nature of the characters used and the happy ending, we have to remember Highet s idea in The Anatomy of Satire, where he explains that farce, which causes unreasoning merriment is related to a satire. Moliere, whose original name was Jean Baptiste Poquelin, always wrote about basic flaws seen around him, the catholic church being one of them. He showed the troubles he had with the religious community through his characters. This showed Willy to be the type who does not accept defeat, as he believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t. Although filled with the desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so due to his apartment and his thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly due to the environment his apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of symbolism used to develop the idea of the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a garden. This modern society shadows over his house, keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the past. This leads to the way the modern world is run, and because it is different than what Willy can handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but the irony being that not only does Willy not have the money to move on from his house and into a place where he could grow a garden, he simply doesn t want to. He wishes to stay, but needs money to pay off the house. His lack of money is expressed as Linda mentions for him not to forget to ask for a little advance (53). What Linda is referring to is that Willy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But social commerce goes a little farther with how it moves through cyber world. It uses tools such as user s rates, referrals or social advertising. It was a great read, not like many of the other novels we read that year. I just didn t feel the same way about the discussion we were having. With every remark my fellow students made, I felt like I could only agree with their statement. Being the introvert I am, my reservoir of things to say only shrank in size and I lacked confidence in any new thoughts that formed. The code contains the professional standards to which all nurses must uphold, allowing for accountability of patients that come into their care. When exposed to the protein, or amino acids, in these meats, they are capable of forming compounds called nitrosamines when exposed to high temperatures (Healthy Child Healthy World). Cooking processed meat creates the perfect conditions for nitrosamines, which can be lethal carcinogens. More recently, the government has mandated that the manufacturers add Vitamin C, which inhibits nitrosamine formation (National Center for Biotechnology Information). This shows that the processed meats being manufactured daily have been regulated to significantly decrease the probability of the negative effects of chemicals such as nitrate and nitrite. By moderation and awareness, these issues can easily be avoided and even seem insignificant. The play is set in Sidley Park, a country house of Derbyshire, and switches between the past, 1809 to 1812, and the present, 1993. The play follows the lives of both the past and present guests and staff of the Coverly family. The main present guests, Hannah Jarvis, Valentine Coverly, and Bernard Nightingale, investigate as the events that unfolded for the past guests, Thomasina Coverly and Septimus Hodge. Deep philosophical and scientific themes are intertwined into the plot as the characters attempt to develop an understanding of the world that they live in. Of these philosophical themes, the most important one is the fragile nature of human knowledge. Throughout Arcadia, Stoppard ingrains that the concept that knowledge is not as stable of a foundation for understanding the universe. Stoppard reveals the existence of this theme through examples of its limited lifetime and tie to emotions; Additionally, he believes it is the most important theme due to its instability of arrogant nature.
