impact.
 VoIP – successfully implemented Microsoft Lync as an end to end solution for
Telecommunications, Instant Messaging, Video Conferencing and Collaboration with
PABX integration, SIP Trunking, AD lookup, Edge (remote) access/conferencing etc.
for 750+ Spotless users to replace an expensive and aging PABXsystem.

 End to end Virtualisation experience from VMWare ESX/SCVMM (Microsoft) VM Build,
Clustering etc. to Fibre Switch and SAN storage design, management and
implementation.
 Constantly worked with HP, EMC, IBM and Netapp SAN storage and replication
technologies for the past 16 years.
 CommVault backup solutions for large scale rollouts - companies with 50-100+ servers
(Campbelltown City Council NSW, Auscript Brisbane, Servier Laboratories, Australian
Education Union, City of Yarra, Nillumbik Shire Council, Mutual Trust, Orchard Funds,
Korda Mentha).

strategies and specific departmental requirements.
 Design and implementation of Active Directory based User Profiles and Policies
developed in line with a growing web based company’s tight security focus, yet flexible
young outlook on technology.
 Constant development of new technologies toimprove efficiency andtohelp meet client
Service Level Agreements.
 Centralised deployment of popular software applications and user requirements
designed with ease of administration and rapid deployment as primary focus.
 Automated SOE management/deployment with out of scope software deployment
readily available pending departmental authorisation.
 Adherenceand exposuretoITIL Complianceand Change Management Procedures on
an ongoing basis.
 Experience in complete Server Consolidation Project Management, including upgrades
from a Windows NT basedPrimary/Secondary Domainscenarioacrossto bothphysical
and virtual Windows 2000/2003/2008 Domain Controller based environment.
 Provisioning of new technology at minimal cost, downtime and man hours, utilising
stealth rollouts and situation specific methods minimising client impact for dedicated
24/7 web hosting, file serving, filtered web and email access, constantly satisfying and
delivering Key Performance Indicators to clients.
 I have a personal focus on developing the right solution for clients, at minimal cost and
maximum longevity of project benefits.
 Effective monitoring of load and proactive allocation of resources to meet with budgets
and available resource allocations utilising effective monitoring techniques –
inexpensive and readily available. Specifically: VMWare Capacity Planner, Nimsoft,
Microsoft Performance Monitoring, MBSA, Untangle, MRTG/PRTG, Midas (Unix
based) IPSentry, and Advanced Host Monitor. These and other systems (Cisco
IPS/IDS/PIX) were also used to monitor and identify Intrusion attempts, security flaws
and areas where network resource availability/security could be compromised.
Security/Firewall
 Many companies have a strong security focus, however as a Web Publishing house
with WDG and also Racing Victoria/Spotless we had a major responsibility to protect
data sensitive clients such as Motorpass, Motorcharge, Ford Performance Vehicles,
Telstra, Australian Swimming Institute, Treasury Funds Management and many others,
to keep their information – such as credit card and client details and even swimming
event records – safe. I used both an OpenBSD Software based internal firewall and
Cisco PIX to protect Demilitarised Zones and a Cisco router with a constantly changing
rule base – defined in conjunction with client needs – to protect such important
information.
 Constant Intrusion Detection (external and internal) and Monitoring techniques were
used and security patches constantly tested and applied, following procedures
developed to protect against ‘on the fly’ changes that could compromise an efficient
security process.
 I have a Microsoft and Unix based skill set, as I recognise that no one solution should
be used to prevent unauthorised access to network resources. That said, I have
exhaustive experience in Microsoft based Security Analysis tools and other third party
Windows based applications such as Wireshark and other IP packet sniffers.
 Ability andextensiveexperiencewithvirus prevention and anti spam techniques, having
worked with and delivered Symantec, Norton, Sophos and CA Inoculan centrally
managed client/server solutions to various companies. Experience reacting to and
removing viral outbreaks and vulnerabilities.
 I have designed and implemented Certificate Services, Public Key Infrastructures,
Radius Services and VPN tunnelling techniques to provide clients with secure and
convenient access through the internet to hosted information.
 Constantly performing system hardening and vulnerability maintenance in both a Unix
and Microsoft environment through automated deployment and efficient techniques
utilising technologies such as MS Software Update Services and Windows Update
Server – Web Based MS update interfaces used to deploy updates once tested and
authorised through rigorous change management procedures.
 I have designed and implemented real-time monitoring techniques (MIDAS, MRTG,
AHM, NimSoft, IPMonitor, MS SCOM etc.) through which management can see at any
Proactive Monitoring
and Remediation
Hardware
time where the bandwidth is going, availability of systems or how a particular website is
affecting the performance of other systems across the network.
 Regular Penetration Tests using various methods to ascertain network/server
vulnerabilities using methods learned in Certified Ethical Hacker training.
 I have architected and implemented various NetApp, EMC, and HP NAS/SANs, from
FAS2030’s to EMC CX200/300/CX3,4,6, VMAX/VNX, Datadomain, and various SAN
replication Technologies like Recoverpoint and Silverpeak appliances.
 I have carriedtheresponsibility ofhardwarecapacity decisionmakingforthepast twelve
years with Jetstar, Spotless, Thomas Duryea, Racing Victoria, Web Development
Group and Bonlac Foods. I have been responsible for developing computing
environments and labs in order to effectively simulate load and provide an accurate
indication of company hardware scope/requirements.
 I have had a hands-onapproach withdesigning physical andvirtual MSCS server farms
and implementation of MS Clustering technologies and fully redundant SAN solutions
to satisfy the ever changing needs of 24/7 Web/File/Application hosting and
development.
 Developed the WDG network from high end, stand alone desktop PC’s into a rack
mounted, power/air conditioning redundant, 24/7 monitored, remotely managed Data
Facility withoffsitebackupandSAN/NAS storagecapacityestimatedtosatisfy company
demands for the next 12 months, in line with company strategies.
 I also developed the RVL Data Centre to include redundant A/C, temperature
monitoring, fully redundant power via UPS/diesel generator, real time server monitoring
and SMS alerting.
 I have constantly worked with and developed timely and reliable company solutions
from such networking devices as hubs, switches, routers, hardware and software
firewalls, web/network based printing and other peripheral devices.

  • 2.  Constant development of new technologies toimprove efficiency andtohelp meet client Service Level Agreements.  Centralised deployment of popular software applications and user requirements designed with ease of administration and rapid deployment as primary focus.  Automated SOE management/deployment with out of scope software deployment readily available pending departmental authorisation.  Adherenceand exposuretoITIL Complianceand Change Management Procedures on an ongoing basis.  Experience in complete Server Consolidation Project Management, including upgrades from a Windows NT basedPrimary/Secondary Domainscenarioacrossto bothphysical and virtual Windows 2000/2003/2008 Domain Controller based environment.  Provisioning of new technology at minimal cost, downtime and man hours, utilising stealth rollouts and situation specific methods minimising client impact for dedicated 24/7 web hosting, file serving, filtered web and email access, constantly satisfying and delivering Key Performance Indicators to clients.  I have a personal focus on developing the right solution for clients, at minimal cost and maximum longevity of project benefits.  Effective monitoring of load and proactive allocation of resources to meet with budgets and available resource allocations utilising effective monitoring techniques – inexpensive and readily available. Specifically: VMWare Capacity Planner, Nimsoft, Microsoft Performance Monitoring, MBSA, Untangle, MRTG/PRTG, Midas (Unix based) IPSentry, and Advanced Host Monitor. These and other systems (Cisco IPS/IDS/PIX) were also used to monitor and identify Intrusion attempts, security flaws and areas where network resource availability/security could be compromised. Security/Firewall  Many companies have a strong security focus, however as a Web Publishing house with WDG and also Racing Victoria/Spotless we had a major responsibility to protect data sensitive clients such as Motorpass, Motorcharge, Ford Performance Vehicles, Telstra, Australian Swimming Institute, Treasury Funds Management and many others, to keep their information – such as credit card and client details and even swimming event records – safe. I used both an OpenBSD Software based internal firewall and Cisco PIX to protect Demilitarised Zones and a Cisco router with a constantly changing rule base – defined in conjunction with client needs – to protect such important information.  Constant Intrusion Detection (external and internal) and Monitoring techniques were used and security patches constantly tested and applied, following procedures developed to protect against ‘on the fly’ changes that could compromise an efficient security process.  I have a Microsoft and Unix based skill set, as I recognise that no one solution should be used to prevent unauthorised access to network resources. That said, I have exhaustive experience in Microsoft based Security Analysis tools and other third party Windows based applications such as Wireshark and other IP packet sniffers.  Ability andextensiveexperiencewithvirus prevention and anti spam techniques, having worked with and delivered Symantec, Norton, Sophos and CA Inoculan centrally managed client/server solutions to various companies. Experience reacting to and removing viral outbreaks and vulnerabilities.  I have designed and implemented Certificate Services, Public Key Infrastructures, Radius Services and VPN tunnelling techniques to provide clients with secure and convenient access through the internet to hosted information.  Constantly performing system hardening and vulnerability maintenance in both a Unix and Microsoft environment through automated deployment and efficient techniques utilising technologies such as MS Software Update Services and Windows Update Server – Web Based MS update interfaces used to deploy updates once tested and authorised through rigorous change management procedures.  I have designed and implemented real-time monitoring techniques (MIDAS, MRTG, AHM, NimSoft, IPMonitor, MS SCOM etc.) through which management can see at any
