New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al.
(2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason
and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that
feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for
this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable consumer
experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientiﬁc inquiry (Johnson 1999;
Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into consumer behavior.
In this article, we address the links between embodiment and consumer experiences in order to
elucidate the contours of the aesthetic experience–not just the process of thinking bodily but how the
body affects the logic of our thinking about art. With this goal in mind, we revisit Kant's question in
order to explore art museum experiences–the simultaneity with which people see, hear, feel, taste,

ever heard of Daniel Hale Williams? He helped take a stand in history like like many before him by
going against expectations of the time. Daniel Hale Williams was a forerunner to the civil rights
movement by going to school and getting a education, opening an interracial hospital, and
performing the first successful heart surgery. Daniel H. Williams took a stand by going to college to
get a good education in a time where "colored" people had very few options for schooling. Daniel

At that time no hospital training program in Chicago would accept African Americans. Since no one
would accept african americans, "it was hard for blacks to get good training", be sufficient doctors,
and give good treatment; so Daniel decided that he wanted to change that(Gale). Williams went to
various organizations and churches on the west and south sides to sell the idea of such a hospital.
This was a feat to big for one person on his own to do, so he went to get help to fund the new
hospital. In 1891 Provident Hospital and Training School Association opened as the first interracial
hospital in the United States. To help accomplish this, funds were raised through all kinds of efforts,
such as bake sales and ice cream sales. Individuals furnished the hospital with items from their
homes, and because of the new hospital "both colors could work together, get equal help, and
training" which was a big success back then(Sons). Daniel continued to take a stand and prove he

The former makes individuals aware of their bodies in their thoughts and actions, while the latter

The entire notion of 'Personality ' rests upon a number of assumptions: 1) that traits and types exist
2) that traits and types are stable over time 3) that these traits and types are consistent across
different situations. At least two of these assumptions are so problematic that they challenge the very

Introduction Understanding the Black Power Movement as it relates to the creation of Black or
African American study programs and departments is to recognize the efforts of radical student
activists on college campuses. The prevailing thought of the Black existence casted doubt on the
importance of Black/African studies at colleges and universities. Blacks, unfortunately, were

The Fear Of Fear In The Salem Witch Trials
Throughout history fear causes people to act in a way that is today is thought of as absurd. In the
Salem Witch trials, people commit murder for what they believe to be dangerous, yet they were acts
of the fear of the unknown. Within the Puritan belief, the followers are so scared of the wrath of God
that they will take radical action to prove they are good Christians. Hysteria can cause groups of
people to come together and act upon a radical belief that can lead to a point of ignorance of reality.
While fear itself is a healthy emotion, irrational fears cause people to take irrational actions. In The
Science of Fear by Daniel Gardner, the aspects of human's response to fear are explained in four
different groups. When people experience fear, naturally they come together with the people who
share similar beliefs (Gardner 15). Gardner describes this gravitation as "group polarization" and
with this comes confirmation bias. When the groups of people come together with the bias they hold
to be true if confirmed and strengthened by those who share them (Gardner 15). The actions of these
groups are based on the two systems of thinking. System one thinking is fast, involving feelings and
emotions. Whereas system two thinking is based on reason and logic within one's actions (Gardner
15). However, the actions caused by fear are sometimes out of the thought of fear rather than the

particular method of reasoning or argumentation. For example It is dangerous to drive when it is

The Crucible" is originally a play written by Arthur Miller. In 1969 the film was produced by David
V. Picker, Robert A. Miller and directed by Nicholas Hytner. The movie is based around the Salem
witch trials and is a historical fiction. The film is a classic story of pointing fingers and false
accusations. Within the film there are many main characters. These characters include Abigail
Williams played by Winona Ryder and John Proctor played by Daniel Day Lewis. The point of view
is from a third person point of view. However, the third person view gives an insightful look of
views from the other charters. The main character is Abigail Adams and throughout the movie her
main goal is to accuse John proctors wife, accused and killed for being a witch. However, as she
gains more power she accuses many people and leads to her eventual leaving of Salem. Her point of
view changes drastically, at the end of the movie she realizes that she has lost power and is fearful
because of her scheming ways. Another point of view is from the perspective of John Proctor. As he
is accused of witchcraft he struggles with the decision to confess to being a witch or not confessing
in order to keep his name clean. The struggle he has with this choice is a great representation of how
