The paper presents a novel cooperative caching scheme called Group Caching for mobile ad hoc networks, aiming to improve data accessibility while addressing issues like mobility, limited bandwidth, and energy consumption. By allowing mobile hosts and their 1-hop neighbors to collaborate on caching strategies, the proposed scheme reduces data redundancy and average access latency, showing experimental improvements in cache hit ratios and latency compared to existing methods. The study evaluates its performance using simulations, demonstrating significant operational benefits over traditional caching approaches.
