This study investigates the transfer factor (TF) and enrichment factor (EF) of heavy metals from soil to vegetables in irrigated farmlands of Kaduna Metropolis, Nigeria. It finds that TF values for spinach, tomatoes, cabbage, and lettuce are generally below 1, indicating low accumulation of heavy metals in these vegetables compared to the soil, except for specific instances where higher values suggest anthropogenic influence. The EF results indicate varying levels of enrichment in the soil and plants, particularly for cadmium and lead, implying pollution sources linked to human activities.
