The study investigates the impact of quarry effluent discharge on the heavy metal concentration, chlorophyll content, vitamin levels, and proximate composition of selected vegetables in Ishiagu, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Results indicate that vegetables from contaminated sites exhibited higher heavy metal levels and significant decreases in chlorophyll compared to control samples. The findings suggest a potential health risk due to the bioaccumulation of heavy metals from these vegetables, emphasizing the need for careful monitoring of agricultural practices near mining operations.
