CUSTOM REGULATIONS
Customs” means the Government Service which is
responsible for the administration of Customs law
and the collection of duties and taxes
It also has the responsibility for the application of
other laws and regulations relating to the
importation, exportation, movement or storage of
goods.
IMPORT REGULATIONS
Free import by non-residents. Is only permitted if they enter India for a
stay of not less than 24 hours, not more than 6 months, and not more
than once a month.
PERSONS OF 17 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER :
100 cigarettes or 25

• Import permit required from the directorate general of civil
aviation in India.
Arms and

• Import is allowed with a WPC license issued by the
ministry of communication and information technology.

planting and propagation, consumption, research and
breeding requires an import permit

Additional Information on Regulations
EXPORT REGULATIONS
Prohibited: indian coins which are covered by the antique and art treasure act of 1972.
May take or send outside india (other than to nepal and bhutan) commemorative
coins not exceeding two coins each.
('Commemorative coin' includes coin issued by government of india mint
to commemorate any specific occasion or event and expressed in indian
currency)
Pets : (IMPORT)
Pets being (re-)imported by an owner who is transferring residence to india,
after a minimum two years of continuous stay abroad
Import of a max. Of two pets as baggage is allowed only through bengaluru
(BLR), chennai (MAA), delhi (DEL), kolkata (CCU), mumbai (BOM) and
hyderabad (HYD); and:
Holding a health certificate from country of origin.
BAGGAGE CLEARANCE REGULATIONS
CLEARANCE OF INCOMING PASSENGERS (GREEN AND RED CHANNELS)
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in India.

All the passengers shall ensure to file correct declaration of their baggage.
Declaration of foreign exchange/currency has be made before the custom
officers in the following cases :
• Where the value of foreign currency notes exceed US $ 5000 or equivalent
• Where the aggregate value of foreign exchange including currency exceeds US $
10,000 or equivalent
Passengers walking through the green channel with dutiable / prohibited good
are liable to prosecution / penalty and confiscation of goods.
Trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances is a serious offence and is
punishable with imprisonment

• A Collapsible wheelchair
• A Walking stick.
• An umbrella (Folding type)
• Medicines required during Flight like Asthma
inhaler etc.
• A Laptop.

As per notice issued by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Government of India,
passengers will not be allowed to carry in their hand baggage or on person- liquids,
gels, or aerosols, which include beverages, shampoos, sun tan lotions, creams,
tooth paste, hair gels, hair sprays, liquid cosmetics or any other items of similar
consistency, exceeding 100 ml, except medicines, inhalers accompanied by
prescriptions and baby food. These items will be carried in one clear transparent
re-sealable, one liter size plastic bag and will be subjected to the prescribed
screening and security checks

Baggage Dimensions for First and
Business
• The sum of the 3 dimensions (length +
breadth + height) of each piece must not
exceed 62 inches or 158 centimeters for
each piece.
• The maximum weight permissible for a
single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. or 70
pounds.
Baggage Dimensions for Economy
• For Economy passengers 2 pieces of
luggage, the total combined dimensions
(length + breadth + height) of both pieces
should not exceed 273cm (107 inches).
• The weight of each bag must not exceed
23 Kgs or 50 pounds.

• The sum of the 3 dimensions (length +
breadth + height) must not exceed 62
inches or 158 centimeters for each piece.
• The maximum weight permissible for a
single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. or 70
pounds.
Baggage Dimensions for Economy
• The sum of the dimensions (length plus
breadth plus height) of both the pieces
when added together, must not exceed
107 inches. Also, the linear dimension of
each piece should not exceed 62 inches.

CURRENCY REGULATIONS
FOREIGN EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT (EXPORT AND IMPORT OF CURRENCY) REGULATIONS, 2015
• Not allowed for nationals of Bangladesh or Pakistan residing outside
India.
• If arriving from Bhutan or Nepal, only currency notes in denominations
of max. INR 100,- are allowed.
• Foreign currencies : unlimited. However, amounts exceeding USD 5,000
cash, or USD 10,000. in traveler's cheques must be declared.(Currency
Declaration Form (CDF)
Local currency (Indian Rupee-
INR): up to max. INR 25,000.
Currency Import regulations
Foreign currencies include currency notes, traveler's cheques, cheques, drafts etc. (Re)exchange
only through banks and authorized money exchange points.
CURRENCY EXPORT REGULATIONS:
• Local currency (Indian Rupee-INR): up to max. INR 25,000.
• Foreign currencies : Up to the amount imported and declared.
• An authorized person may send out of India foreign currency
acquired in normal course of business,
• Any person may take or send out of India, -
Cheques drawn on foreign currency account maintained in accordance
with Foreign Exchange Management Regulations, 2000.

– Which were replaced the
‘International Health
Regulations’ in 1969
The 1969 IHR were intended to monitor
and control six infectious diseases:
– cholera,plague,yellow fever, smallpox,
relapsing fever and typhus
HEALTH REGULATIONS
International Health Regulations (IHR)
The IHR are legally binding set of regulations adopted by WHO which
helps countries to save lives caused by diseases spread internationally
and other health risks.
For entry into India:-
Any person, Foreigner or Indian, (excluding infants below six months)
arriving by air or sea without a vaccination certificate of yellow fever will
be kept in quarantine isolation for a period up to 6 days if :
He arrives in India within 6 days of departure/transit from a yellow fever
endemic area.
Has come on a ship which has started from or transited at any port in a
yellow fever endemic country within 30 days of its arrival in India
provided such ship has not been disinfected in accordance with the
procedure laid down by WHO.
WHO RECOMMENDS THESE VACCINATIONS FOR TRAVELERS TO INDIA
Adult Diphtheria
and tetanus

Hepatitis A vaccine
• Prevent hepatitis A, a type of liver disease
that is caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV)
Oral polio vaccine (OPV)
• Requirement for all travelers visiting India from Afghanistan,
Ethiopia, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Somalia to
receive OPV at least 6 wk. before departure
Typhoid vaccine
Rabies vaccine
Yellow fever (YF)
vaccine
HEALTH REGULATIONS : FOR LEAVING INDIA:-
• There is no health check requirement by Indian Government on passengers
leaving India.
• Persons leaving for a yellow fever infected area are advised
• To get themselves vaccinated and
• To be possession of valid yellow fever vaccination certificates before they
leave the country.
The following countries are regarded as yellow fever endemic :
Africa:
Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo,
Cote d' Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia,
Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda,
Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda.
South America:
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad
(Trinidad only), Venezuela, Panama, Paraguay, Peru.

  • 2. CUSTOM REGULATIONS Customs” means the Government Service which is responsible for the administration of Customs law and the collection of duties and taxes It also has the responsibility for the application of other laws and regulations relating to the importation, exportation, movement or storage of goods.
  • 3. IMPORT REGULATIONS Free import by non-residents. Is only permitted if they enter India for a stay of not less than 24 hours, not more than 6 months, and not more than once a month. PERSONS OF 17 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER : 100 cigarettes or 25 cigars or 125 grams of tobacco 2 liters of alcoholic liquor or wine Medicines in reasonable quantities 2 ounces of perfume and 1/4 liter of eau de toilette Jewelry, up to a combined value of INR 50,000.- For male travelers or INR 100,000.- For female travelers

  • 5. • Import permit required from the directorate general of civil aviation in India. Arms and ammunition regulations: • Import is allowed with a WPC license issued by the ministry of communication and information technology. Remote controlled drones and helicopters • The import of seeds and plants for the purpose of sowing, planting and propagation, consumption, research and breeding requires an import permit Seeds and plants • All kinds of birds and bird products (incl.   • 6. EXPORT REGULATIONS Prohibited: indian coins which are covered by the antique and art treasure act of 1972. May take or send outside india (other than to nepal and bhutan) commemorative coins not exceeding two coins each. ('Commemorative coin' includes coin issued by government of india mint to commemorate any specific occasion or event and expressed in indian currency) Pets : (IMPORT) Pets being (re-)imported by an owner who is transferring residence to india, after a minimum two years of continuous stay abroad Import of a max. Of two pets as baggage is allowed only through bengaluru (BLR), chennai (MAA), delhi (DEL), kolkata (CCU), mumbai (BOM) and hyderabad (HYD); and: Holding a health certificate from country of origin.
  • 7. BAGGAGE CLEARANCE REGULATIONS CLEARANCE OF INCOMING PASSENGERS (GREEN AND RED CHANNELS) Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in India. Red channel Green channel Red Channel for passengers having dutiable goods. Green Channel for passengers not having any dutiable goods
  • 8. All the passengers shall ensure to file correct declaration of their baggage. Declaration of foreign exchange/currency has be made before the custom officers in the following cases : • Where the value of foreign currency notes exceed US $ 5000 or equivalent • Where the aggregate value of foreign exchange including currency exceeds US $ 10,000 or equivalent Passengers walking through the green channel with dutiable / prohibited good are liable to prosecution / penalty and confiscation of goods. Trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances is a serious offence and is punishable with imprisonment

FOR ALLIANCE AIR (9I) OPERATED FLIGHTS In addition to one piece of cabin baggage or package, you may also be permitted to carry one following personal item, subject to Security Regulations: • A Lady's hand bag. • An overcoat or wrap. • A rug or a blanket • A camera or binoculars • Reasonable amount of reading material for the flight. • A Collapsible wheelchair • A Walking stick. • An umbrella (Folding type) • Medicines required during Flight like Asthma inhaler etc. • A Laptop. • Height 40 cms (16 inches) + Length 30 cms (12 inches) + Width 15 cms (06 inches) for ATR aircraft - Total of Dimensions 85 cms DIMENSIONS • Only 01 piece of hand baggage having maximum weight of 5 Kg is permitted NUMBER OF PIECES / WEIGHT
  • 11. As per notice issued by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Government of India, passengers will not be allowed to carry in their hand baggage or on person- liquids, gels, or aerosols, which include beverages, shampoos, sun tan lotions, creams, tooth paste, hair gels, hair sprays, liquid cosmetics or any other items of similar consistency, exceeding 100 ml, except medicines, inhalers accompanied by prescriptions and baby food. These items will be carried in one clear transparent re-sealable, one liter size plastic bag and will be subjected to the prescribed screening and security checks

Baggage Dimensions for First and Business • The sum of the 3 dimensions (length + breadth + height) of each piece must not exceed 62 inches or 158 centimeters for each piece. • The maximum weight permissible for a single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. or 70 pounds. Baggage Dimensions for Economy • For Economy passengers 2 pieces of luggage, the total combined dimensions (length + breadth + height) of both pieces should not exceed 273cm (107 inches). • The weight of each bag must not exceed 23 Kgs or 50 pounds. Weight Concept Baggage Dimensions for First and Business • The sum of the 3 dimensions (length + breadth + height) must not exceed 62 inches or 158 centimeters for each piece. • The maximum weight permissible for a single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. or 70 pounds. Baggage Dimensions for Economy • The sum of the dimensions (length plus breadth plus height) of both the pieces when added together, must not exceed 107 inches. Also, the linear dimension of each piece should not exceed 62 inches. Piece concept

CURRENCY REGULATIONS FOREIGN EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT (EXPORT AND IMPORT OF CURRENCY) REGULATIONS, 2015 • Not allowed for nationals of Bangladesh or Pakistan residing outside India. • If arriving from Bhutan or Nepal, only currency notes in denominations of max. INR 100,- are allowed. • Foreign currencies : unlimited. However, amounts exceeding USD 5,000 cash, or USD 10,000. in traveler's cheques must be declared.(Currency Declaration Form (CDF) Local currency (Indian Rupee- INR): up to max. INR 25,000. Currency Import regulations Foreign currencies include currency notes, traveler's cheques, cheques, drafts etc. (Re)exchange only through banks and authorized money exchange points.
  • 15. CURRENCY EXPORT REGULATIONS: • Local currency (Indian Rupee-INR): up to max. INR 25,000. • Foreign currencies : Up to the amount imported and declared. • An authorized person may send out of India foreign currency acquired in normal course of business, • Any person may take or send out of India, - Cheques drawn on foreign currency account maintained in accordance with Foreign Exchange Management Regulations, 2000.

History of the IHR The cholera that overran Europe between 1830 and 1847 In 1951,WHO – adopted the ‘International Sanitary Regulations’, – Which were replaced the ‘International Health Regulations’ in 1969 The 1969 IHR were intended to monitor and control six infectious diseases: – cholera,plague,yellow fever, smallpox, relapsing fever and typhus HEALTH REGULATIONS International Health Regulations (IHR) The IHR are legally binding set of regulations adopted by WHO which helps countries to save lives caused by diseases spread internationally and other health risks.

For entry into India:- Any person, Foreigner or Indian, (excluding infants below six months) arriving by air or sea without a vaccination certificate of yellow fever will be kept in quarantine isolation for a period up to 6 days if : He arrives in India within 6 days of departure/transit from a yellow fever endemic area. Has come on a ship which has started from or transited at any port in a yellow fever endemic country within 30 days of its arrival in India provided such ship has not been disinfected in accordance with the procedure laid down by WHO.

WHO RECOMMENDS THESE VACCINATIONS FOR TRAVELERS TO INDIA Adult Diphtheria and tetanus vaccine Hepatitis A vaccine • Prevent hepatitis A, a type of liver disease that is caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV) Oral polio vaccine (OPV) • Requirement for all travelers visiting India from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Somalia to receive OPV at least 6 wk. before departure Typhoid vaccine Rabies vaccine Yellow fever (YF) vaccine

HEALTH REGULATIONS : FOR LEAVING INDIA:- • There is no health check requirement by Indian Government on passengers leaving India. • Persons leaving for a yellow fever infected area are advised • To get themselves vaccinated and • To be possession of valid yellow fever vaccination certificates before they leave the country. The following countries are regarded as yellow fever endemic : Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d' Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda. South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad (Trinidad only), Venezuela, Panama, Paraguay, Peru.
