Critical Essay Topics Ideas
Writing an essay on the topic "Critical Essay Topics Ideas" can be quite challenging, as it
requires a thorough understanding of critical thinking and the ability to analyze various subjects
critically. The difficulty lies in selecting an appropriate topic that not only sparks interest but also
allows for in-depth examination and evaluation. Choosing a subject that is both relevant and has
sufficient literature to support critical analysis adds an additional layer of complexity.
Moreover, crafting a critical essay involves more than just summarizing information; it demands
the writer to engage with the material, question assumptions, and present a well-reasoned
argument. This process necessitates a high level of cognitive skills and analytical thinking,
making it challenging for many students. Additionally, expressing one's thoughts coherently and
persuasively while maintaining an objective tone can be daunting.
The research phase can also pose difficulties, as finding credible sources and extracting relevant
information requires time and effort. The synthesis of ideas from different perspectives, along
with the organization of these thoughts into a coherent and logical structure, adds another layer
of complexity to the writing process.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a balance between providing a critical
analysis and avoiding a purely subjective viewpoint. Striking this balance is crucial for the essay
to be both informative and persuasive.
In conclusion, writing a critical essay on the topic of "Critical Essay Topics Ideas" demands a
combination of analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It requires the
ability to select a suitable topic, conduct thorough research, and present a well-structured
argument. While challenging, mastering these skills can lead to a rewarding and insightful essay.

Reflection Paper On Court Hearing
This reflection paper is over my fifth week at my practicum site. This week I was in
the office on Monday and Tuesday. This week I was able to attend a court hearing
and I wrote up my visitation log from the visit that happened last week.
There are a lot of things that has to happen when the Department of Children and
Family Services (DCFS) take protective custody (PC) of a child. After DCFS has
taken PC over a child or children they have to have court within 2 days. The court
date is considered the first court hearing. The perpetrator is encouraged to come and
they have been appointed and attorney. The attorney will be there to represent their
client at this first initial court hearing.
The first court hearing consists of many different things. The first thing that happen
is the investigator is called to the stand and asked questions about what happened
during the investigation that were significant enough to take PC. This is a precaution
step to make sure the kids were removed for a legitimate reason. At this point the
judge can sign off on the order of PC or return the kids home to the perpetrator. The
investigator explained this process to me prior to going into the courtroom and she
said the judge never sends the kids back home. The perpetrator can be called to the
stand but most of the time they are not. The next thing that is put in place is a
permanency order for the child. The permanency order is put in place for temporary
housing. The last thing that is filed
What Is The Theme Of Lady Lazarus
Opening Sentences... Widely considered her most celebrated book of poems, the
posthumous Ariel exposes Plath s twisted physiological torment. Perhaps its most
well known work, Lady Lazarus unambiguously examines suicide and death. It cloaks
its reader in the solitude that weighs so heavily on its author. In this poem, Plath
alludes to Lazarus, a man who Jesus resurrects from the dead. Plath is in fact the
female foil to this biblical figure, and through the chaos and loneliness her husband,
father, and friends cultivate, they ultimately drive her to suicide. However, despite her
attempts, the poet unfailingly rises from her deathbed to confront an increasingly
harsher world. Similar to Plath, singer songwriter Joni Mitchellintroduces themes...

In doing so, she describes what she feels might be the catalyst to the pair s true
happiness: wrecked stockings, knitted sweaters, and shampooed hair. Though
simple, they could make her feel alive, alive. The free willing and bubbly nature of
the song ends with the recognition that the greed is the unraveling...and it undoes
all the joy that could be. Despite her endeavors and a fictitious blissful relationship,
the two are designed to fail together as evidenced by Mitchell s question do you
see...how you hurt me baby and her subsequent realization that I hurt you too/Then
we both get so blue. Moreover, Mitchell heightens the unstable affair with her
assertion, oh I hate you some, I hate you some, I love you some/Oh I love you
when I forget about me. However, these epiphanies do not absolve her love.
Mitchell s self awareness is essential to understanding her particular predicament.
While some are ignorant to the fact that they are captive in an abusive or harmful
relationship, whether physical or psychological, Mitchell is acutely conscious in her
own. Yet, she is incapable of evading it; moreover, in order to thrive within it, she
must neglect own needs, and accordingly reciprocate that harm. While fantasy does
not deceive the reckless women, this volatile relationship draws her in as part of her
continues to believe that her wants are possible, that the two could eventually feel free

Famous All Over Town by Danny Santiago Essay
Every individual has times in their life where they feel isolated and alone. When this
occurrs a person will search for ways to connect or feel important.. The person will
do anything they can to be noticed and appreciated. In the novel, Famous All Over
Town, by Danny Santiago the main character, Chato, has many reasonsto feel lonely.
In almost every aspect of his life he is being let down in one way or another. He has
to try to deal with a familyon the brink of falling apart, he has to go to a school
which doesn t teach anything fun, and he has friends that are a bad influence on
him. The novel reveals how he has to endure hardships, most of us do not have, to
get through a day. By the end of the novel the reader begins to understand... Show

After awhile his family starts disintegrating even more, especially after Chato finds
out his dad had an affair with the crazy woman of the neighborhood. All this begins
to take its toll on Chato. The sun was shining on my face. Nobody had answered
my prayers for rain. I lay there asking myself What next. What next. (277) If Chato
had a more understanding family that didn t find it necessary to keep secrets from
one another he might not feel so let down. He would know that he had a loving and
supporting family to go home to and he feels he doesn t have that.
Next, when high school students go to school each morning they hope they are
going to learn new and interesting things. It is a different situation at Chato s
school. Students are told to do work that is very much like the work one would do
in elementary school. Teachers don t have very high expectations of students at
Chato s school. For instance, when Chato s class begins reading a book Chato is
asked by his teacher to guess what will happen in the next chapter. He guesses
correctly. Chato s teacher believes that he must have read ahead even though he
hasn t. Rudy, I m afraid you read the next chapter. I denied it. Rudy, she sang my
mane, you re not being very honest with us, and you are spoiling the story. Nobody
could possibly guess that from the text (76). Because Chato s teacher doesn t believe
that Chato is capable of predicting the next chapter in the book he is sent to the
Summary Of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
The client had a troubled childhood growing up in Los Angeles California. He grew
up poor, eating out of trash cans, moving from hotel to hotel. After his parent s
divorce, his father abandoned the family for several years. This has caused the client
to feel abandoned and worthless. The Japanese community did not accept John
because I was of mixed race, which also made the client feel worthless and unwanted.
The client did not have many friends in his neighborhood because I was different in
appearance compared to the other kids in the community. The client felt like an
outcast and would keep to himself. In high school, the client reconnected with his
father and moved into his home. The client reported, I would lay in the bed for days,

The client has difficulties with interpersonal skills because of his past negative
experiences growing up. The client tends to perceive other individual s body
language or comments as negative and an attack on the client causing him to get
angry and anxious because of his past experiences in his childhood. When the client is
asked about how he knows the intentions of others, the client states that I can tell.
However, the client cannot give any details that prove it was the individual s true
intentions. For example When I come downstairs, my roommate stairs at me like I
am not supposed to be downstairs. Due to past experiences, the client holds these
faulty beliefs that may not hold true today. The actions of others that the client
perceives as negative brings the client the feelings from childhood of being an
outcast, worthless, hopeless, and unwanted. When these feelings occur, the client self
medicates with cannabis as a coping strategy. The client s faulty thinking causes him
significant harm to his relationships with family, housemates, and church. Rational
Emotive Behavior Therapy will be used to show the client that the event does not
cause his depression, anger, and anxiety but his beliefs about the event causes his

Mercedes Vs Subaru Research Paper
Mercedes Benz CLA250 vs. Subaru WRX Premium
If you re in the market for a new entry level luxury sedan you ve probably run
across the Mercedes Benz CLA250. The Mercedes starts at $32,400, which is very
cheap for a Mercedes, and that s exactly what they want you to think. Over the
years Mercedes has grown to be a respected German car company making very
pricy luxury cars. They all come with extremely fancy heated and cooled
massaging seats, top of the line audio systems and attention to detail that will blow
your mind away. This all comes with a price tag, you must be making a lot of
money because after you buy a Mercedes you better have money laying around,

The Mercedes has front wheel drive. It a disgrace as this is Mercedes very first
front wheel drive car but it does have better fuel economy. Front wheel drive
handles awful and is horrible in the winter. The Mercedes also comes with a
sluggish 7 speed automatic. The gear changes are very slow and make the car even
less fun to drive. On the Subaru you have two options. You have the option between
a 6 speed manual or an automatic CVT transmission. If you have a brain you ll buy
this car with the 6 speed manual. I believe every car should have a manual option
as it is the best way to drive a car. It s more involving and makes you pay more
attention to the road. Plus you can t text and drive or any other distracting weird
thing people do while driving. In all when you look at these cars they are very similar
but when you look a little deeper you can tell Mercedes is pulling the classic rip
off I still give Mercedes kudos for their other cars, but this one just doesn t seem
worth it to me. It s not a total rip off it s just you re gonna have to pay extra to get a
car with a Mercedes badge on it. I think it s really stupid and a waste of money but
if you re a fan of overpriced European cars then the Mercedes is the perfect option.
The Subaru obviously comes out on top in this one with more features and a starting
price way cheaper than the
Analysis Of Mutability By Percy Bysshe Shelley Essay
Portfolio Part B Mutability (Greenblatt 752 753) is a poem written by the
Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. The Oxford English Dictionary
defines the word Mutability as: Liability or tendency to change. (OED Online)
Mutability was most probably written in order to portray Shelley s own views that
humans do not have control over changes which occur in their own lives.
However, it asserts Shelley s belief that, Nought may endure but Mutability.
Shelley demonstrates this idea by using various literary devices, diction, and a
sombre tone which is reflected through his choice of writing in the lyric form.
Mutability was written at a time when Shelley experienced significant life
changing events; January 1816 saw the birth of his first child to Mary Shelley, in
the same year Shelley experienced financial struggles, and the suicide of his first
wife Harriet in December 1816. (O Neill, M.) In addition to the changes he endured
in his personal life, Shelley was very much aware of the changes happening during
1816 which was named, The year without a summer due to extreme changes in
weather. During his trip to Switzerland, Shelley and a group of other Romantic poets
began to create works to reflect this time of great change. (Gardiner, Lisa) This is
significant as being exposed to so much change during 1816 more than likely inspired
Shelley to write Mutability to demonstrate the human ability to accept and embrace
change, as it cannot be prevented.
The History of Mail and the Postal System
History of Mail Mail is a system of transporting documents and small packages or
even written messages such as seasonal greetings and other. The first
documentation of a mail service is dated back to Egypt when the pharaohs used
carriers to send their decrees of territories. Persia was the first to have a real postal
system which dates to Cyrus the Great at 550 BC. They used stations (Chapar
Khaneh), the carriers (Chapars) would go from post to post swapping tired horse
for a fresh horse so they could deliver that much faster. 322 185 B.C. India developed
there early mailsystem there chariots that they would use to cart around the mail
was called a Dagana . The carries were used for military purposes by kings and
local rulers to deliver information through runners or carriers. The postmaster was
responsible for the maintenance of the courier system which also delivered
personal letter. Indian Post Office was established October 1, 1837. B.C. A.D. 220
China had relay stations every 15 kilometers (30 Li, which was the Chinese
measurement that they used) along the major routes. The tang dynasty was said to
have 1,640 posthouses, that including maritime office, which employed a grand
total around 20,000 people. The postal network was a major part of the later
corruption of the Ming dynasty. The first well documented postal service was in
Rome (62 B.C. A.D.14) during the time of Augustus Caesar, the service was called
cursus publicus and was provided with light
The Controversy Over Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is very well known from coast to coast, as well as reconstructive
surgery. But it seems to be that cosmetic is heard of and talked about more than
reconstructive. But Why? Reconstructive surgery is for when someone has an
accident and something on their body needs to be fixed or repaired. It is not a
choice, it is a requirement if they hope to look even similar to their original state.
Cosmetic surgery, on the other hand, is a choice of your own, and a stupid choice if
i do say so myself. You should think twice about having cosmetic surgery, as it can
seem like a good idea at the time, but the results may not be as pleasing as you
expected.
People all over the world will see someone in a magazine and want to be just like
them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People who have body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) are more likely to undergo plastic
surgery and are less likely to find relief from it , says Stephanie Watson. BDD is in
people who are insecure about their body and find every tiny little flaw on them,
then go out and get cosmetic surgery done to fix it. Once that s done, they pick out
another flaw to get fixed and the vicious cycle continues. This can sort of be
described as an addiction to the surgery. You can also develop the disorder after
getting 2 or 3 cosmetic surgery fixes done, and continuously having the surgery
after that. Another writer, Melissa Dittmann, said Anyone who goes into the
procedure with unrealistic expectations is often disappointed by the results,
leading to depression and other mental illnesses . What she means by that is
people want to look a very specific way, that they set their heart on looking that way
and that way only. No exceptions. If they were to come out of the surgery with one
little thing different than they expected, they can go into a very deep depression.
The depression can be based on regretting why they did the surgery in the first
place, how they aren t pleased with the outcome but now have to live with it, or
other problems. Not only could the depression occur, but it could possibly lead to
being even more self conscious than before the surgery was done as well. This
Sophomore Year Letters
Dear 2017 2018 Sophomores,
I m writing this letter to you to let you know what to expect for your sophomore year.

Vanwinkle are honestly god awful. I m just trying, to be honest here kids. When
you have time to study and work on your homework, I suggest you do that because
other wise you will get jewed on in that class. He gives you lots of homework, and
there are lots of notes too. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR WORDS OF THE
DAYS! You will need them at the end of both semesters.
Biology with Mr. Carmichael is not so bad. He teaches you very well and explains
things to you so that you will understand. There are a lot of notes but you will be
fine if you write them down. Because they help you out a lot and most of your
homework will rely on your homework. Study a lot before the quizzes and tests
because trust me you will need the studying. The labs are honestly not so bad so just
finish them and get them turned it and you will do great in Biology!
Last class, I will be giving advice to you for is Geometry with Mrs. Backstrom.
Some of you don t need this advice because you probably already took this class
your freshman year (Smart alecks), but for the ones that haven t taken it here you
go. Advice listens to the teacher when she is explaining stuff, don t be afraid to ask
questions on tests, and get your homework done no matter what. You take notes like
every day but they honestly help you out a lot. So put those big boy/ girl pants on
and sit your butt down in your desk and
Educational Inequality In The United States
Educational inequality is the difference in the learning results, or efficacy,
experienced by students coming from different groups. Access and opportunity for
education was not a right equally given to all people in our country. From the
beginning of our nation access to public education was reserved for whites only and
was forbidden for enslaved and free blacks. After Emancipation, when some public
and private schooling was made available to African Americans, black children were
segregated into under resourced schools. Due to circumstances that kept most African
American families in abject poverty, the masses of black children encountered
structural barriers that prevented them from gaining a complete formal education.
Education is one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the fact that majority white students are in advanced courses compared to
black students, the stereotype that only white children were qualified to take
advanced or gifted courses resulted. Social behavior is driven by these learned
stereotypes, in which, if a child is never aware of these opportunities are made to
believe that they are not superior at a young age, their academic choices and
performance reflect it as they get older and move up in school. For example, Tyson
indicates that gifted placement in elementary or middle school is a gateway to
higher level courses in high school. Furthermore, exposure to rigorous academic
materials and instruction in the early grades may better prepare students to master
challenging material later and to perform well on standardized tests. Teachers and
counselors may also be more likely to steer gifted students toward advanced classes
because they hold higher expectations for these students than they do for non gifted
ones (Tyson 146). The inequality of black access to gifted education compared to
white access is drastic and shapes the overall track for a child s educational pathway.
Institutional racism, which refers to the norms, practices and policies within an
institution that promote and maintain a racial hierarchy that continues to advantage
the white race, while disadvantaging and discriminating against other racialized
groups is the cause of this continual cycle
Topicality In No Greater Love By Danielle Steel
INTRODUCTION
Topicality of the subject. One of the necessitating topicalities of this research is to
show how a person can take a heavy responsibility on his or her shoulders, making
her bend but not break. No Greater Love is a historical fiction that touches the theme
of love, loyalty and how a person s life can change in a night, the novel is also partly
of Titanic disaster which happened in 1912. Many writers addressed this theme and
many had gained success. But Danielle Steel, the author of No Greater Love could
reveal the deepest feelings hidden in one s soul. This novel portrays us the life that
is very real, it describes young Edwina s love, loss, loyalty, sorrows, responsibility.

The second chapter deals with the analysis of the characters of the novel, the second
sub chapter of the second chapter is about Titanic.
In the letters written by Danielle Steel is said about the novel and mostly about its
genre.
We see that No Greater Love shows the facts of real life, such as Titanic disaster and
First World War. Actually, the novel in itself is very real, because some parts of the
story are very similar to the fragments of our own lives. The story has educating
aspects, one can find consolation while reading. Because all the viewpoints of the
truth are depicted there. This is a story about Edwina s life, but in the face of
Edwina, Danielle Steel described all of our lives. No Greater Love is a consolation
for those who met with loss, who experienced disasters and wars. This is a support
for those who sacrificed their own happiness. If you lost somebody it doesn t mean
world s stopped revolving, life goes on and you must learn to live somehow. At last,
No Greater Love is a story about life lesson, it is a work for everybody and I m sure

The Fall Of The Roman Empire Analysis
In The Fall of the Roman Empire , the author Peter Heather talks about the ways the
Roman empire conquered the many territories surrounding them and how strong of
an empire the Roman empire was. He also talks about the build up of the events that
caused the empire to fall. Peter also talks about the people that helped or was
involved in the build up or the collapse of the Roman empire. Peter Heather mainly
wrote this book to inform the reader of how the European barbarians got turned into
enemies through imperialism; additionally, he mentions that these Barbarians were
capable of tearing apart an empire that ruled over them for many years. Peter, also,
mentions all of the battles and build ups that occurred throughout the Barbarians
reign of power and speaks mainly of the battles that they went through. Peter s
argument is that the empire did not collapse because of social or moral collapse, but
that the empire fell due to the Barbarians. There were many interesting events that
occurred in The Fall of the Roman Empire . Peter Heather speaks of many Hunnic
battles; he tries to explain how military strategical the Huns were, and he also talks
about the battles, due to the fact that the Huns begin to become an issue with Roman
Empire. He speaks of these battles because they had such a large effect on the
collapse of the Roman Empire. Peter mentions the Battle of Hadrianople; this battle
was when the Gothsdefeated their first Roman army. The battle made the Goths
Dr Jekyll And Hyde Analysis
Many stories include a general theme of good and evil whether it be one character s
war against his own self or two different characters against each other. In The Strange
Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, both of these ideas are
included through the separation of Jekyll s good and evil sides into two different
people. Dr. Jekyll s will, Mr. Hyde s appearance, and the incident of the letter all
suggest that Jekyll and Hyde are two separate people derived from one to represent
good from evil. One of the most peculiar hints in this story is Dr. Jekyll s will, stating
all his possessions were to pass into the hands of his friend and benefactor Edward
Hyde... (2) as Hyde already coexists with Jekyll; not

Psychodynamic Approach To Psychology Essay
What is Psychology? The definition of psychology is a person scientifically studying
the behavior and mental processes of a human being. Psychology is trying to answer
the questions of why people act the way that they do, and what causes them to act
that way. Philosophy was a debate about the nature of thought, behavior, and how this
linked to the mindand the body. RenГ© Descartes argued that philosophers focus their
attention on the mind because he believed that the mind and body are sperate. From
this psychologygrew. Today natural selection plays a big role in the way that we

business ideas. These people are Tatsuo Matsuo who is a HR manager of Fujitsu,
Shinya Kitagawa who is a HR manager of Hitachi, and Dr. Thomas Field who is a
director of the Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program. The following are the details:
Tatsuo Matsuo:
Mr. Matsuo is a competent HR manager with 12 years experience in HR

hire and train new and existing employees. He asked me for my opinion.
I introduced him about my project profile about the Talent ManagementCompany,

companies do not know to align Talent Management within their HR strategies.

Peter Singer s How To Find Fulfilling Career
Everyone would like to have a meaningful work. In the past, people did not attach
great importance to find a fulfilling career, because they were busy earning money to
support their families. In their mind, they worked only because they had to. People
did not pay much attention to the meaning of their careers. In chapter 2 A Short
History of CareerConfusion is from How to Find Fulfilling Work by Roman Krznaric,
the author argues that finding the meaningful career is challenging because people
have too much choice now. Some people are stuck in jobs that they do not like.
Others spend a long time finding their favorite work through experiences. Here are
four strategies that can help you find fulfilling career. Although some people think that

Nowadays, some people do not like their work even complain bitterly, who find
their work for earning money. They feel frustrated that they spend lots of time
dealing with dull emails or marketing products they do not really like. In
Rethinking Work , author Barry Schwartz writes, Today, in factories, offices and
other workplaces, the details may be different but the overall situation is the same:
Work is structured on the assumption that we do it only because we have to (1).
Some people make a difference. In How To Find Fulfilling Work, the moral
philosopher Peter Singer writes, He argues that our greatest hope for personal
fulfillment is dedicating our lives and if possible our working lives...especially an
ethical one such as animal rights, poverty alleviation or environmental justice (67).
Make a difference is a good way to find a fulfilling career. Not only do people make a
positive contribution to people and society, but people also reflect their values.
They can gradually sense day to day the influence of their work upon an audience
from their heart. For example, my dad is a bank teller. Not only is he interested in
finance, but he also likes to help others in need. That motivates him to work well
every day. Some people think that this job is repetitive and boring. However, my dad
enjoys it. He told me a meaningful experience. One day, an old man told my dad that
he lost his pass book. He felt so worried and had no idea what to do next. He almost
cried and told my dad that the pass book saved all money. Then my dad calmed down
him and helped him find his pass book. He tried his best to apply for a simple and
quick way to solve the problem. Finally, and old man felt grateful for my dad s
help. Making a difference is necessary for us to reflect our values and help others in
need. It enriches our life experience. In addition, it enables us to make a difference
to other people. We can make a

The Narrator s Attitude In Cathedral
The narrator s attitude in Cathedral changes completely throughout the story. He

blind man would be staying in his home. I wasn t enthusiastic about his visit. He

was not something I looked forward to. The narrator is a very judgemental person
and stereotypes Robert into a category he had already created inside of his head. He
is not willing to welcome Robert into his home.
However, as the story progresses, the narrator slowly begins to accept Robert s
condition. After Robert arrives home with the wife, the three of them sit down for a

Metaphors In To Kill A Mockingbird
Near the beginning of To Kill a Mockingbird , Atticus tells Scout that she should try
to put herself into someone else s skin and walk around in them(65). Scout attempts
to do that throughout the book, and finally, in the end, she gets it. This is how I
perceive what this series of metaphors mean.
This metaphor isn t the most wordy, and it isn t in the regular simile format.
Metaphors are words that mean other words. These words mean that before you
criticize or judge someone, you should know what their background is, and how they
came to the conclusion or action that they did. The quote is generally used to help
someone feel empathy, and I think it helped Scout develop empathy, and hopefully
learning to think before she spoke.
Scout attempts several times throughout the book to do what Atticus told her to do
and has a few great successes, but her greatest success was at the end of the book
where she walks Boo Radley back to his house after he saved Scout s and Jem s
lives. She stood on their porch and imagined what it must have been like to be
Boo, watching her and Jem playing, and growing up. She imagines him seeing his
kids in danger, and goes to rescue them from Mr. Ewell. The quote from the book
was, One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and
walk around in them. Just standing on the Radley porch was enough. (321) That was
said by Scout in the last chapter of the book, close to the end. I think seeing her
childhood go before her
Rehabilitation Is The Most Intensive Treatment Option For...
Rehabilitation is the most intensive treatment option for recovery. Other names are
Residential Treatment Program, inpatient substance abuse treatment, drug
rehabilitation, or rehab. Rehabilitation provides three unique characteristics to
enhance the opportunity for a successful recovery. Treatment is away from:
1.Home. 2.Access to drugs. 3.Contact with active substance abusers. The
advantages of receiving intensive treatment away from home and without access
to drugs and active drug abusers are well established. However, as with every
treatment approach, results depend on the patient s willingness to do the work to
attain the goal of sustained sobriety (http://bit.ly/2aAkN9w). Longer residence
times in rehab produce better results because the longer a person is substance free,
the greater the likelihood of staying substance free (http://bit.ly/1GCHJvP).
Rehabilitation provides the most health therapeutic environment for recovery.
TYPES OF REHABILITATION PROGRAMS Rehabilitation programs come in a
vast array of shapes and sizes. No two are alike because each program has a unique
philosophy as to how best to achieve recovery. Locations There is a wide array of
locations for treatment. Some programs are located in a hospital while others are
freestanding facilities solely dedicated to the treatment of substance abuse. Others
are located in urban areas where patients learn a trade or work. Still others are far

In America, human nature is perceived as good or bad at given times, because
citizens are encouraged to keep on furthering themselves as individuals, building the
foundation for our society. For example, Americans who make the right decisions
are more likely to be successful in their career, instead of those who fall victim to
their impulses, leading them to the wrong path. This shows that one side requires
little to none constraints, while the other side needs to be monitored for some time,

human nature is considered as bad, needing to be corrected and monitored as much
as one can. This is clearly seen when governments observe their citizens daily,
ensuring they remain on track, if not, then they could pass new regulations to help
correct their citizen s behavior. Depending what culture you come from, one could

Multiple Myeloma Essay

Multiple Myeloma is stated as a cancerthat is formed in a specific type of white blood

recognizes and attacks germs. These malignant plasma cells result in an increase of
immunoglobulin components, most commonly IgG. This up regulation of IgG can
ultimately cause kidney problems. To fully understand how this hormone may help

with all types of issues from diabetes to hearing loss. As an interventional
audiology, my job is to help both patients and physicians with identification of at
risk patients with hearing loss and/or comorbid conditions that can affect or be
affected by hearing loss. By allowing my practice to assist you with these types of
patients, we can work together to identify, create best possible treatment options in
order to ensure these patients have a long and prosperous life. As a result of
allowing my office to screen these individuals for you, I can help boost your
bottom line in terms of your practice. The most important aspect of my job is to

hearing loss and secondary complications which over the long term can lead to an
excessive amount of money spent on healthcare that could have been reduced in the
initial stages of the disease(s) by properly identifying and remediating these patients.
I understand that by being in an Accountable Care Organization, you must reduce
the costs of healthcare while being more accountable for your patients and the
quality of services they receive. One way that this can be accomplished is by
allowing my practice to help screen your patients who may have hearing losses (even

The Importance Of Physical Beauty In The Renaissance Era
Society s perception of love changes constantly. As a result, poems of different time
periods have different perceptions of love and beauty. Ben Jonson s A Vision of
Beauty and Samuel Daniel s But love whilst that thou mayst be loved again reflect
the importance of physical beauty in love during the Renaissance Era. In the
Victorian Period, Wilfrid Scawen Blunt s I See You Juliet and Robert Browning s A
Face continue to reflect society s fascination with female beauty in both a positive
and negative way. In the Modern Period, a shift occurs in both marriageand lovewith
a greater emphasis on true love and inner beauty. William Butler Yeats When You

In his poem, But love whilst that thou mayst be loved again , he focuses on
warning women to find love soon because beauty will not last with age. He
compares a woman s beauty to a flower: the fairest flower that ever saw the light
/ men do not weigh the stalk for what it was / when they find her flower, her glory,
pass (Daniel 6, 13 14). Through this metaphor, he shows how men view beauty in
love. No one looks at a dead flower and thinks about what it used to be, rather, he or
she looks towards other flowers that bloom with life and colour. This sonnet begins as
an admiration for his subject s beauty, but it ends by telling the subject that when her
physical beauty deteriorates, no one will love her. This poem reflects society s
fixation on superficial beauty because it reminds women that they will never find
love without external beauty, as a result of the superficiality of men in society. Both
poems of the Renaissance Period assert the idea of perfection and the importance of
physical beauty in love and relationships. Victorian era poets continue to propound
the importance of superficial beauty. During this era, there was a continual belief in
lust and sexual desires, evident in the rampant disloyalty that husbands showed their
wives (Hughes). Wilfrid Scawen Blunt depicts this continual fascination of lust and
beauty in his poem, I See You Juliet . The
KPMG Deferred Tax Issues
KPMG Deferred Tax Issues: Valuation Allowance
Issue 1: Conclude on the appropriateness of the engagement team s decision for
valuation allowance.
1. Clarify Issues Objectives
ASC 740 10 05 5 defines a deferred tax asset as:
A deferred tax asset is measured using the applicable enacted tax rate and provisions
of the enacted tax law. A deferred tax asset is reduced by a valuation allowance if,
based on the weight of evidence available, it is more likely than not that some portion
or all of a deferred tax asset will not be realized.
ASC 740 10 05 5 also states the following:

Thus, a 5% increase in profit margin is not indicative of Riggers historical data and is
not a conservative estimate.
Riggers also projects 100% rig efficiency, which assumes the rig will endure
absolutely no issues, repairs, or maintenance for the next ten years. This assumption
seems highly unlikely. A more conservative assumption would take into account the
inevitable off days of the rig and thereby reduce the rig efficiency projection slightly.
Additionally, the engagement team s assessment of valuation allowance is based on
the assumption that the Brazil segment of operations will cease or lose profitability
after the fiscal year 2021. If, instead, we assume operations in Brazil will continue
and remain profitable until further notice, the deferred asset will eventually be used
to its entirety and no valuation allowance should be recognized. However, if the
given assumption of ceased operations in 2021 stands, a more fair and conservative
representation requires an adjustment for valuation allocation.
Given the slightly optimistic nature of the assumptions surrounding profit margin and
rig efficiency, reducing both percentage values would provide more conservative
estimates. If profit margin and rig efficiency were reduced to 11% and 98%,
respectively, a valuation allowance of approximately
Merit Pay For Teachers And Teachers
Merit Pay for Teachers President Barack Obama said in a recent speech that The
future belongs to the nation that best educates its citizens ... It is time to give all
Americans a complete and competitive education (Stout). His first point has become
evident over time. The nations that best educate their children will have power in the
future. He also mentions giving Americans a competitive education. This is referring
to implementing a form of merit pay for teachers; paying bonuses to a teachers
salary based on their performance, and that of their students. Some states have
already started using merit pay programs. Merit pay encourages teachers to work
harder at assisting their students in learning. Replacing the current public education
system with a merit based system would rid the education community of bad
teachers. It would attract a higher achieving work force to teaching and encourage
overall improvement in schools. This would all lead to better teachers and more
student success in schools. Most public education systems currently use a matrix or
grid to decide how much money teachers are paid. Salaries are based almost purely
on how many years teachers have taught, and how much college education they have.
This system does not take into account how hard the teachers work, what kind of
programs they teach, or how well they help students succeed. Tom Luna, the
Superintendent of Public Instruction in Idaho, said in an interview, [teachers] are paid

and attempts to uncover the information. His work shows up on public surfaces, the

or anti war message. Rats, police, soldiers and the elderly are often included in his

nomination in 2011. The 2014 Webby Awards honored him as person of the year. But
who is the artist, activist, and filmmaker whose work led to the Banksyeffect? And
why is his work so sought after?
Trained as a Butcher
According to the book Home Sweet Home by author, graphic designer and friend
Tristan Manco, Banksy was born in 1974 and grew up in Bristol, England. Manco
also wrote that Banksy trained as a butcher but became involved in the Bristol
underground scene during the late 1980s aerosol boom. The scene involved
collaborations with musicians and artists. Banksy himself has said that his work was
inspired by graffiti artist Robert Del Naja, also known as 3D and a founding member
of the band Massive Attack. Art critics and observers have compared Banksy s work
to Blek le Rat, whose real name is Xavier Prou and who is known as the father of
stencil graffiti.
In the early 1990s, Banksy started as a freehand graffiti artist, using stencils as
elements in his pieces. However, by

Romeo And Juliet Disobedient Character
The play Romeo and Juliet is a comedy turned tragedy. Written during the
Elizabethan era, by William Shakespeare in 1596. The play is renowned for its tale
of star crossed lovers from opposing families. Although the play is written from
Romeo s point of view, we see Juliet s character progress through different stages in
the play unlike Romeo s character, who for the most part stays the same. The play
shows Juliet develop from an (1) obedient child to a (2) disobedient child; to a (3)
strong young lady making her own decisions. Juliet is a young girl living a sheltered
life, she is a very obedient child and bases all her decisions on the wishes of her
parents. Juliet s father is making decisions for her because he believes her to... Show

The Death Of The Father
Subordination
Today theologians have been debating whether or not the son has a subordinate
relationship to the father. To help understand this question better in smaller terms we
will break it down. Son in this sense means Jesus because he is the son of God.
Subordinate means lower in rank or position. Father in this sense means God. Now
the question becomes does Jesus have a lower rank or position to God. There are two
different sides to this question. The first side is that The son is subordinate to the
father on Earth but not in eternity. The other side is that the son is subordinate to the
father on Earth and in eternity.
The Son is Subordinate to the Father on Earth but not in Eternity
We know that the son was subordinate to the Father while on Earth. We know this
because the Bible gives examples of the son being subordinate to the father. In
Hebrews 1: 4 5, it says, having, become as much superior to angels as the name he
has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever
say, You are my son, today I have begotten you ? Or again, I will be to him a father,
and he shall be to me a son ? This shows that God the Father has taken Jesus as his
Son. This indicates that God sees him as a lower authority because he is his son.
Just like how our earthly father sees us as a lower authority this is exactly how
God sees his son, Jesus on Earth. In John we should also take note that Jesus prayed
to God. We pray to God because we know he has
Vietnam War Paranoia
The horrors of The Vietnam War have stuck with American soldiers since they were
first deployed in Vietnam and every vietnam soldier remembers, the paranoia that ate
away at them during their months in Vietnam. Vietnam War literature written by
American authors who were in the war demonstrates the paranoia they felt during the
war. These authors would express their feelings by writing while they were in Vietnam
and after they left. When soldiers write about the war after they left, it shows how
they still remember the paranoiathey felt while in Vietnam. Vietnam was paranoia,
because of the continuous fearof the environment, traps, and ambushes, that
soldiers felt and described in multiple poems and stories such as If I Die in a
Combat Zone and The Things They Carried. The American soldiers in Vietnam felt
paranoia because of the horrible traps such as land mines or bouncing bettys that
were hidden throughout Vietnam. Tim O Brien in his memoir If I die in a
Combat Zone describes the booby trapped mortar rounds well by saying, They
hang from trees. They nestle in shrubbery. They lie under the sand. They wait
beneath the mud floors of huts. They haunted us (If I die in a Combat Zone 123).
In this quote O Brien describes how the booby trapped mortar rounds would haunt
soldiers and how the soldiers never knew where they were. The soldiers were
paranoid and haunted by the mortar rounds because they could be anywhere and they
were everywhere in Vietnam. O Brien also describes

Summary Of Double Victory By Ronald Takaki
Chapter four of Double Victory: A Multicultural History of America in World War II
written by Ronald Takaki describes the struggles of Native Americans before World
War II and during the war. On the homefront Native Americans were treated poorly,
but gradually white Americans began to tolerate them more as time went on. When
they first arrived on the reservations after the Long Walk, they felt ashamed and
were treated as if they were scum. They were losing their land to foreigners. Yet as
time went on, the living situation on the reservation began to improve. For example,
schools were improving, white people were training to be traders and farmers, and
their rights were respected by the government. As the war, went on, Native Americans

The first V in victory was obvious because they defeated the Germans and the
Japanese and helped the United States win the war. But the reason they were
successful with the second V in victory was because Whites believed that World
War II had completed the process of Indian integration into mainstream American
society (Morgan). Before the war, Native Americans were not treated very equally
and they were not treated wonderfully after the war either. For example, In yet
another of the rude and arbitrary reversals that long have afflicted the government
s relations with Native Americans, Eisenhower also sought to cancel the tribal
preservation policies of the Indian New Deal, in place since 1934. He proposed to
terminate the tribes as legal entities and to revert to the assimilationist goals of the
Dawes Severalty Act of 1887 (Kennedy 896). This shows that there were still
attempts to discriminate Native Americans, but the bill was eventually shut down
in 1961. The reason they achieved Double Victory was because they help the white
Americans win the war and because the war caused the greatest change in Indian
life since the beginning of the reservation era and taught Native Americans they
could aspire to walk successfully in two worlds (Morgan). Of the Four Freedoms,
the one Native Americans accomplished was the Freedom from Want because they
were given a stronger economic base. Before the war, money was a hard product to
find for Native Americans because The federal government s stock reduction
program had made the Navajos dependent on wage income: nearly 40 percent of their
annual per capita income of $128 came from wages, mostly from temporary
government employment (Takaki 66 67). This shows that Native Americans had a

Civil War Globalization
Over many years of trading between different people, goods from one region of the
world can be employed and enjoyed in another. This process is called globalization.
There are some negative connotations revolving around the word, but those are
overpowered by all of its positive aspects. I believe globalization is good for society
because it helps countries win wars, impacts the economy for the better, and spreads
important technological advancements.
The Atlantic slave trade, although being extremely horrific, contributed to the success
of the northern United States during the Civil War. By helping to expand their
military, the flood of slaves going to the U.S during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries

Essay about School Violence
Over the past several years, an epidemic of school violence has overtaken our nation.
From monthly shootings, to daily bomb threats around the country, violence is
becoming more and more common in schools. It is typical to hear about acts of
violence among our youth everyday on the news. Although more numerous in cities,
this violence does not discriminate against inner cityor suburban areas; it happens
everywhere. When addressing this quick spread of crime, one can inquire as to its
history and why it happens, myths about school violence, and how was can taper it,
by the use of technology.

3 Practical School Security). This is not the case; while there are problems that are
normal, sometimes they are not handled correctly or thoroughly. Often things are
handled administratively but not given to law enforcements to deal with. For
instance, if theft occurs in the school, the law should be involved, due to the fact
that theft is against the law. However, this is not the case in a lot of school
systems. Young adults then may get the notion that is ok to steal, vandalize, and
be aggressive towards one another with no consequences. Sometimes, if a young
adult commits a crime, there needs to be more of a consequence then simply being
suspended from school. The school systems reason for not reporting crimes has to
do alot with politics. The administration does not want bad publicity, or they fear
for being blamed and not doing their job correctly (23). Another major reason for
not reporting school based crimes is the media. If there is violence in a school, it
will be publicized in the media. In reality, the school system needs to be on the same
page with the police, so they can help one another out.
The top five issues that are capturing the attention of the U.S. is aggression and
violent behavior, drugs, weapons, gangs, and Stranger danger (p.5) These are the
issues that have parents concerned, rather than the vandalism or the one on one

Therefore, Martin and Hitchcock both use the technique of irony to portray the ethics
and significance of those who abandon their moral values and beliefs. The novel A
Game of Thrones, is set in a harsh unforgiving world and many characters find
themselves struggling as they are faced with hard truths. Martin portrays the
protagonist Eddard Stark to be a man of honour and respect with high ethical
values, this is shown through many other characters opinions such as Jon, Jon
tells Eddard You wear your honour like a suit of armour... when explaining the
oath is a social bond that needs to be respected and upheld. Eddard is seen to be
well respected, loved and envied throughout the village by his fellow neighbours.
But Martin ironically makes Eddard s turn of events to be a moment of corrupt
actions, this occurs when Eddard hires soldiers to overtake the crown and
kingdom. The novel states to consider duty and justice to be one and the same is
nonsense, one must do what one must do in the world of A Game of Thrones. Irony
is also seen when Lord Baelish betrays Eddard and leads him to his execution he
yells, the best thing you ve done since arriving, is not trusting me . When
Pride And Prosperity During The 1920 s
How much change can occur in a simple decade? The 1920s was an era filled with
American pride yet acceptance aswell and with national wealth at it s peak this
boosted the 20s even more, but during the 1930s this pride and prosperity was
suffocated by the new era of depression. Minorities were still mistreated and had
little to no rights during both eras, but social value was beginning to vary greatly.
Lifestyle for most was completely flipped around in just a matter of 10 years. The
20s was filled with bright means of entertainment such as flappers, prosperity was
fresh in the air and the economy was booming. Progressivism was at its all time
boom and companies, economy and inventions and even ideals all seemed to be
cherishing this golden age, as well as entertainment industries. New inventions such
as the refrigerator were beginning to make lifestyle for families much easier, some
of this ease was placed on the shoulders of women. Young women were no longer
keeping up with the roles and standards that were tightly binded pre war times, and
general youth was relabeling what the norm was, courting,... Show more content on

Modernism believed in letting go of the past and stated restrictions on science was
holding back the improvement, and traditionalism was the belief that holding onto
the old American culture and religion was healthier. Modernism had its peak during
the 20s with the theory of evolution first being taught in schools and science
beginning to evolve. But during the 30s traditionalists placed the blame of the now
failing economy on the fact America had become too open as a nation, this hate
created the thick stench of racism among Americans, but as religion took over and
prohibition came into view, America continued growing under the cracks unnoticed.
The ongoing battle might of figuratively stopped due to the government supporting
tradition, but modernists continued

Rainier in Washington state, sighted what he described as nine shiny saucer like
objects flying at high speeds. He contacted a reporter who published his story in
the East Oregonian and submitted his story to the Associated Press. The story was
picked up and published in papers across the country. Along the way the phrase
flying saucers was coined for what Kenneth Arnold had seen. As the story spread
more people started reporting seeing similar objects of varies shapes and sizes
(Gepper 335 336). It was ten days earlier from Arnold s flying saucer report, that a
sheep rancher Mack Brazel near Roswell, New Mexico found debris on is land. At

Brave New World Relevant Today Analysis
Even though Brave New World was a story told more than 70 years ago, I still
believe it s relevant today. I can see why people would argue that it s not because
during that time the world was definitely different than it is today, but the topics the
story talked about seemed like they were more toward my generation. The motto of
the people in their worldwas to live a lifestyle based on the concept of community,
stability, and identity. It changed the whole outlook on what we claim we live by
which is life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. With the story being based on sex
and drugs, it makes you think; are we kind of heading toward that way of living
because of how relaxed we ve become with the idea of those things. There s so
much more living to do and that s why I think Brave New Worldis still relevant for
today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you think of a hatchery, you automatically think of a place where eggs are
waiting to be hatched, but this was a place where people were basically made. The
whole genetic concept of you looking like your mom and dad is totally gone. To
the point where words like family was considered so ancient. With our society
today I feel like the concept of family is kind of getting out of control, and it s not
really normal. People feel like they can just use a man for a child and that s it. A
show I watched recently just had a woman saying she wants a baby, but she doesn t
care if she s with the man or not she just needs the sperm and that s it. Some argue
that they don t need a mother or father to be okay in life, and that could be true but
that makes you wonder what really is the meaning of family

  • 1. Critical Essay Topics Ideas Writing an essay on the topic "Critical Essay Topics Ideas" can be quite challenging, as it requires a thorough understanding of critical thinking and the ability to analyze various subjects critically. The difficulty lies in selecting an appropriate topic that not only sparks interest but also allows for in-depth examination and evaluation. Choosing a subject that is both relevant and has sufficient literature to support critical analysis adds an additional layer of complexity. Moreover, crafting a critical essay involves more than just summarizing information; it demands the writer to engage with the material, question assumptions, and present a well-reasoned argument. This process necessitates a high level of cognitive skills and analytical thinking, making it challenging for many students. Additionally, expressing one's thoughts coherently and persuasively while maintaining an objective tone can be daunting. • 3. Reflection Paper On Court Hearing This reflection paper is over my fifth week at my practicum site. This week I was in the office on Monday and Tuesday. This week I was able to attend a court hearing and I wrote up my visitation log from the visit that happened last week. There are a lot of things that has to happen when the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) take protective custody (PC) of a child. After DCFS has taken PC over a child or children they have to have court within 2 days. The court date is considered the first court hearing. The perpetrator is encouraged to come and they have been appointed and attorney. The attorney will be there to represent their client at this first initial court hearing. The first court hearing consists of many different things. The first thing that happen is the investigator is called to the stand and asked questions about what happened during the investigation that were significant enough to take PC. This is a precaution step to make sure the kids were removed for a legitimate reason. At this point the judge can sign off on the order of PC or return the kids home to the perpetrator. The investigator explained this process to me prior to going into the courtroom and she said the judge never sends the kids back home. The perpetrator can be called to the stand but most of the time they are not. The next thing that is put in place is a permanency order for the child. The permanency order is put in place for temporary housing. The last thing that is filed
  • 4. What Is The Theme Of Lady Lazarus Opening Sentences... Widely considered her most celebrated book of poems, the posthumous Ariel exposes Plath s twisted physiological torment. Perhaps its most well known work, Lady Lazarus unambiguously examines suicide and death. It cloaks its reader in the solitude that weighs so heavily on its author. In this poem, Plath alludes to Lazarus, a man who Jesus resurrects from the dead. Plath is in fact the female foil to this biblical figure, and through the chaos and loneliness her husband, father, and friends cultivate, they ultimately drive her to suicide. However, despite her attempts, the poet unfailingly rises from her deathbed to confront an increasingly harsher world. Similar to Plath, singer songwriter Joni Mitchellintroduces themes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In doing so, she describes what she feels might be the catalyst to the pair s true happiness: wrecked stockings, knitted sweaters, and shampooed hair. Though simple, they could make her feel alive, alive. The free willing and bubbly nature of the song ends with the recognition that the greed is the unraveling...and it undoes all the joy that could be. Despite her endeavors and a fictitious blissful relationship, the two are designed to fail together as evidenced by Mitchell s question do you see...how you hurt me baby and her subsequent realization that I hurt you too/Then we both get so blue. Moreover, Mitchell heightens the unstable affair with her assertion, oh I hate you some, I hate you some, I love you some/Oh I love you when I forget about me. However, these epiphanies do not absolve her love. Mitchell s self awareness is essential to understanding her particular predicament. While some are ignorant to the fact that they are captive in an abusive or harmful relationship, whether physical or psychological, Mitchell is acutely conscious in her own. Yet, she is incapable of evading it; moreover, in order to thrive within it, she must neglect own needs, and accordingly reciprocate that harm. While fantasy does not deceive the reckless women, this volatile relationship draws her in as part of her continues to believe that her wants are possible, that the two could eventually feel free

The Mercedes starts at $32,400, which is very cheap for a Mercedes, and that s exactly what they want you to think. Over the years Mercedes has grown to be a respected German car company making very pricy luxury cars. They all come with extremely fancy heated and cooled massaging seats, top of the line audio systems and attention to detail that will blow your mind away. It a disgrace as this is Mercedes very first front wheel drive car but it does have better fuel economy. Front wheel drive handles awful and is horrible in the winter. The Mercedes also comes with a sluggish 7 speed automatic. The gear changes are very slow and make the car even less fun to drive. On the Subaru you have two options. You have the option between a 6 speed manual or an automatic CVT transmission. If you have a brain you ll buy this car with the 6 speed manual. I believe every car should have a manual option as it is the best way to drive a car. It s more involving and makes you pay more attention to the road. Plus you can t text and drive or any other distracting weird thing people do while driving. In all when you look at these cars they are very similar but when you look a little deeper you can tell Mercedes is pulling the classic rip off I still give Mercedes kudos for their other cars, but this one just doesn t seem worth it to me. It s not a total rip off it s just you re gonna have to pay extra to get a car with a Mercedes badge on it. I think it s really stupid and a waste of money but if you re a fan of overpriced European cars then the Mercedes is the perfect option. The Subaru obviously comes out on top in this one with more features and a starting price way cheaper than the
  • 10. Analysis Of Mutability By Percy Bysshe Shelley Essay Portfolio Part B Mutability (Greenblatt 752 753) is a poem written by the Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word Mutability as: Liability or tendency to change. (OED Online) Mutability was most probably written in order to portray Shelley s own views that humans do not have control over changes which occur in their own lives. However, it asserts Shelley s belief that, Nought may endure but Mutability. Shelley demonstrates this idea by using various literary devices, diction, and a sombre tone which is reflected through his choice of writing in the lyric form. Mutability was written at a time when Shelley experienced significant life changing events; January 1816 saw the birth of his first child to Mary Shelley, in the same year Shelley experienced financial struggles, and the suicide of his first wife Harriet in December 1816. (O Neill, M.) In addition to the changes he endured in his personal life, Shelley was very much aware of the changes happening during 1816 which was named, The year without a summer due to extreme changes in weather. During his trip to Switzerland, Shelley and a group of other Romantic poets began to create works to reflect this time of great change. (Gardiner, Lisa) This is significant as being exposed to so much change during 1816 more than likely inspired Shelley to write Mutability to demonstrate the human ability to accept and embrace change, as it cannot be prevented.

  • 12. The Controversy Over Cosmetic Surgery Cosmetic surgery is very well known from coast to coast, as well as reconstructive surgery. But it seems to be that cosmetic is heard of and talked about more than reconstructive. But Why? Reconstructive surgery is for when someone has an accident and something on their body needs to be fixed or repaired. It is not a choice, it is a requirement if they hope to look even similar to their original state. Cosmetic surgery, on the other hand, is a choice of your own, and a stupid choice if i do say so myself. You should think twice about having cosmetic surgery, as it can seem like a good idea at the time, but the results may not be as pleasing as you expected. People all over the world will see someone in a magazine and want to be just like them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People who have body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) are more likely to undergo plastic surgery and are less likely to find relief from it , says Stephanie Watson. BDD is in people who are insecure about their body and find every tiny little flaw on them, then go out and get cosmetic surgery done to fix it. Once that s done, they pick out another flaw to get fixed and the vicious cycle continues. This can sort of be described as an addiction to the surgery. You can also develop the disorder after getting 2 or 3 cosmetic surgery fixes done, and continuously having the surgery after that. Another writer, Melissa Dittmann, said Anyone who goes into the procedure with unrealistic expectations is often disappointed by the results, leading to depression and other mental illnesses . What she means by that is people want to look a very specific way, that they set their heart on looking that way and that way only. No exceptions. If they were to come out of the surgery with one little thing different than they expected, they can go into a very deep depression. The depression can be based on regretting why they did the surgery in the first place, how they aren t pleased with the outcome but now have to live with it, or other problems. Not only could the depression occur, but it could possibly lead to being even more self conscious than before the surgery was done as well. This

Access and opportunity for education was not a right equally given to all people in our country. From the beginning of our nation access to public education was reserved for whites only and was forbidden for enslaved and free blacks. After Emancipation, when some public and private schooling was made available to African Americans, black children were segregated into under resourced schools. Due to circumstances that kept most African American families in abject poverty, the masses of black children encountered structural barriers that prevented them from gaining a complete formal education. Based on the fact that majority white students are in advanced courses compared to black students, the stereotype that only white children were qualified to take advanced or gifted courses resulted. Social behavior is driven by these learned stereotypes, in which, if a child is never aware of these opportunities are made to believe that they are not superior at a young age, their academic choices and performance reflect it as they get older and move up in school. For example, Tyson indicates that gifted placement in elementary or middle school is a gateway to higher level courses in high school. Furthermore, exposure to rigorous academic materials and instruction in the early grades may better prepare students to master challenging material later and to perform well on standardized tests. Teachers and counselors may also be more likely to steer gifted students toward advanced classes because they hold higher expectations for these students than they do for non gifted ones (Tyson 146). The inequality of black access to gifted education compared to white access is drastic and shapes the overall track for a child s educational pathway. Institutional racism, which refers to the norms, practices and policies within an institution that promote and maintain a racial hierarchy that continues to advantage the white race, while disadvantaging and discriminating against other racialized groups is the cause of this continual cycle

He feels, at the beginning of the story, uncomfortable and annoyed with the fact that a blind man would be staying in his home. I wasn t enthusiastic about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me... A blind man in my house was not something I looked forward to. The narrator is a very judgemental person and stereotypes Robert into a category he had already created inside of his head. He is not willing to welcome Robert into his home. However, as the story progresses, the narrator slowly begins to accept Robert s condition. After Robert arrives home with the wife, the three of them sit down for a drink. The narrator judges Robert silently, but he is polite in honor of his wife. I found that the dinner scene was important because it is where the narrator begins to see more to Robert than just a disability: The blind man right away located his foods, he just knew where everything was on his plate. Scout attempts to do that throughout the book, and finally, in the end, she gets it. This is how I perceive what this series of metaphors mean. This metaphor isn t the most wordy, and it isn t in the regular simile format. Metaphors are words that mean other words. These words mean that before you criticize or judge someone, you should know what their background is, and how they came to the conclusion or action that they did. The quote is generally used to help someone feel empathy, and I think it helped Scout develop empathy, and hopefully learning to think before she spoke. Scout attempts several times throughout the book to do what Atticus told her to do and has a few great successes, but her greatest success was at the end of the book where she walks Boo Radley back to his house after he saved Scout s and Jem s lives. She stood on their porch and imagined what it must have been like to be Boo, watching her and Jem playing, and growing up. She imagines him seeing his kids in danger, and goes to rescue them from Mr. Ewell. The quote from the book was, One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them. Just standing on the Radley porch was enough. (321) That was said by Scout in the last chapter of the book, close to the end. I think seeing her childhood go before her

Other names are Residential Treatment Program, inpatient substance abuse treatment, drug rehabilitation, or rehab. Rehabilitation provides three unique characteristics to enhance the opportunity for a successful recovery. Treatment is away from: 1.Home. 2.Access to drugs. 3.Contact with active substance abusers. The advantages of receiving intensive treatment away from home and without access to drugs and active drug abusers are well established. However, as with every treatment approach, results depend on the patient s willingness to do the work to attain the goal of sustained sobriety (http://bit.ly/2aAkN9w). Longer residence times in rehab produce better results because the longer a person is substance free, the greater the likelihood of staying substance free (http://bit.ly/1GCHJvP). Or, some cultures believe that we should have mastery over nature, and not the other way around, so we may keep advancing in certain fields. In America, human nature is perceived as good or bad at given times, because citizens are encouraged to keep on furthering themselves as individuals, building the foundation for our society. For example, Americans who make the right decisions are more likely to be successful in their career, instead of those who fall victim to their impulses, leading them to the wrong path. This shows that one side requires little to none constraints, while the other side needs to be monitored for some time, until they start making the right calls. However, in other cultures, some believe that human nature is considered as bad, needing to be corrected and monitored as much as one can. This is clearly seen when governments observe their citizens daily, ensuring they remain on track, if not, then they could pass new regulations to help correct their citizen s behavior. This hematologic (blood) disease has no cure at this specific time, but there are some factors that increase the susceptibility of contracting this disease. The factors include being over the age of 65, hereditary disposition and race also, people that already suffer a blood disease will probably contract MM. Why is trying to treat MM so important? Multiple Myeloma is stated as a cancerthat is formed in a specific type of white blood cell (plasma cells). The main role of plasma cells is to secrete antibody that recognizes and attacks germs. These malignant plasma cells result in an increase of immunoglobulin components, most commonly IgG. This up regulation of IgG can ultimately cause kidney problems. In his poem, But love whilst that thou mayst be loved again , he focuses on warning women to find love soon because beauty will not last with age. He compares a woman s beauty to a flower: the fairest flower that ever saw the light / men do not weigh the stalk for what it was / when they find her flower, her glory, pass (Daniel 6, 13 14). Through this metaphor, he shows how men view beauty in love. No one looks at a dead flower and thinks about what it used to be, rather, he or she looks towards other flowers that bloom with life and colour. This sonnet begins as an admiration for his subject s beauty, but it ends by telling the subject that when her physical beauty deteriorates, no one will love her. This poem reflects society s fixation on superficial beauty because it reminds women that they will never find love without external beauty, as a result of the superficiality of men in society. Both poems of the Renaissance Period assert the idea of perfection and the importance of physical beauty in love and relationships. Victorian era poets continue to propound the importance of superficial beauty. During this era, there was a continual belief in lust and sexual desires, evident in the rampant disloyalty that husbands showed their wives (Hughes). Wilfrid Scawen Blunt depicts this continual fascination of lust and beauty in his poem, I See You Juliet . The

Riggers also projects 100% rig efficiency, which assumes the rig will endure absolutely no issues, repairs, or maintenance for the next ten years. This assumption seems highly unlikely. A more conservative assumption would take into account the inevitable off days of the rig and thereby reduce the rig efficiency projection slightly. Additionally, the engagement team s assessment of valuation allowance is based on the assumption that the Brazil segment of operations will cease or lose profitability after the fiscal year 2021. If, instead, we assume operations in Brazil will continue and remain profitable until further notice, the deferred asset will eventually be used to its entirety and no valuation allowance should be recognized. However, if the given assumption of ceased operations in 2021 stands, a more fair and conservative representation requires an adjustment for valuation allocation. Given the slightly optimistic nature of the assumptions surrounding profit margin and rig efficiency, reducing both percentage values would provide more conservative estimates. If profit margin and rig efficiency were reduced to 11% and 98%, respectively, a valuation allowance of approximately

It is time to give all Americans a complete and competitive education (Stout). His first point has become evident over time. The nations that best educate their children will have power in the future. He also mentions giving Americans a competitive education. This is referring to implementing a form of merit pay for teachers; paying bonuses to a teachers salary based on their performance, and that of their students. Some states have already started using merit pay programs. Merit pay encourages teachers to work harder at assisting their students in learning. Replacing the current public education system with a merit based system would rid the education community of bad teachers. It would attract a higher achieving work force to teaching and encourage overall improvement in schools. This would all lead to better teachers and more student success in schools. Most public education systems currently use a matrix or grid to decide how much money teachers are paid. Salaries are based almost purely on how many years teachers have taught, and how much college education they have. This system does not take into account how hard the teachers work, what kind of programs they teach, or how well they help students succeed. • 43. The Death Of The Father Subordination Today theologians have been debating whether or not the son has a subordinate relationship to the father. To help understand this question better in smaller terms we will break it down. Son in this sense means Jesus because he is the son of God. Subordinate means lower in rank or position. Father in this sense means God. Now the question becomes does Jesus have a lower rank or position to God. There are two different sides to this question. The first side is that The son is subordinate to the father on Earth but not in eternity. The other side is that the son is subordinate to the father on Earth and in eternity. The Son is Subordinate to the Father on Earth but not in Eternity We know that the son was subordinate to the Father while on Earth. We know this because the Bible gives examples of the son being subordinate to the father. In Hebrews 1: 4 5, it says, having, become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, You are my son, today I have begotten you ? Or again, I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son ? This shows that God the Father has taken Jesus as his Son. This indicates that God sees him as a lower authority because he is his son. Just like how our earthly father sees us as a lower authority this is exactly how God sees his son, Jesus on Earth. In John we should also take note that Jesus prayed to God. We pray to God because we know he has

Vietnam War Paranoia The horrors of The Vietnam War have stuck with American soldiers since they were first deployed in Vietnam and every vietnam soldier remembers, the paranoia that ate away at them during their months in Vietnam. Vietnam War literature written by American authors who were in the war demonstrates the paranoia they felt during the war. These authors would express their feelings by writing while they were in Vietnam and after they left. When soldiers write about the war after they left, it shows how they still remember the paranoiathey felt while in Vietnam. Vietnam was paranoia, because of the continuous fearof the environment, traps, and ambushes, that soldiers felt and described in multiple poems and stories such as If I Die in a Combat Zone and The Things They Carried. The American soldiers in Vietnam felt paranoia because of the horrible traps such as land mines or bouncing bettys that were hidden throughout Vietnam. He proposed to terminate the tribes as legal entities and to revert to the assimilationist goals of the Dawes Severalty Act of 1887 (Kennedy 896). This shows that there were still attempts to discriminate Native Americans, but the bill was eventually shut down in 1961. The reason they achieved Double Victory was because they help the white Americans win the war and because the war caused the greatest change in Indian life since the beginning of the reservation era and taught Native Americans they could aspire to walk successfully in two worlds (Morgan). Of the Four Freedoms, the one Native Americans accomplished was the Freedom from Want because they were given a stronger economic base. Before the war, money was a hard product to find for Native Americans because The federal government s stock reduction program had made the Navajos dependent on wage income: nearly 40 percent of their annual per capita income of $128 came from wages, mostly from temporary government employment (Takaki 66 67). This shows that Native Americans had a tough time

There are some negative connotations revolving around the word, but those are overpowered by all of its positive aspects. I believe globalization is good for society because it helps countries win wars, impacts the economy for the better, and spreads important technological advancements. The Atlantic slave trade, although being extremely horrific, contributed to the success of the northern United States during the Civil War. By helping to expand their military, the flood of slaves going to the U.S during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries greatly affected the outcome of the Civil ... From monthly shootings, to daily bomb threats around the country, violence is becoming more and more common in schools. It is typical to hear about acts of violence among our youth everyday on the news. Although more numerous in cities, this violence does not discriminate against inner cityor suburban areas; it happens everywhere. When addressing this quick spread of crime, one can inquire as to its history and why it happens, myths about school violence, and how was can taper it, by the use of technology. Often things are handled administratively but not given to law enforcements to deal with. For instance, if theft occurs in the school, the law should be involved, due to the fact that theft is against the law. However, this is not the case in a lot of school systems. Young adults then may get the notion that is ok to steal, vandalize, and be aggressive towards one another with no consequences. Sometimes, if a young adult commits a crime, there needs to be more of a consequence then simply being suspended from school. The school systems reason for not reporting crimes has to do alot with politics. The administration does not want bad publicity, or they fear for being blamed and not doing their job correctly (23). Another major reason for not reporting school based crimes is the media. If there is violence in a school, it will be publicized in the media. In reality, the school system needs to be on the same page with the police, so they can help one another out. The top five issues that are capturing the attention of the U.S. is aggression and violent behavior, drugs, weapons, gangs, and Stranger danger (p.5) These are the issues that have parents concerned, rather than the vandalism or the one on one fights. Therefore, Martin and Hitchcock both use the technique of irony to portray the ethics and significance of those who abandon their moral values and beliefs. The novel A Game of Thrones, is set in a harsh unforgiving world and many characters find themselves struggling as they are faced with hard truths. Martin portrays the protagonist Eddard Stark to be a man of honour and respect with high ethical values, this is shown through many other characters opinions such as Jon, Jon tells Eddard You wear your honour like a suit of armour... when explaining the oath is a social bond that needs to be respected and upheld. Eddard is seen to be well respected, loved and envied throughout the village by his fellow neighbours. The 1920s was an era filled with American pride yet acceptance aswell and with national wealth at it s peak this boosted the 20s even more, but during the 1930s this pride and prosperity was suffocated by the new era of depression. Minorities were still mistreated and had little to no rights during both eras, but social value was beginning to vary greatly. Lifestyle for most was completely flipped around in just a matter of 10 years. The 20s was filled with bright means of entertainment such as flappers, prosperity was fresh in the air and the economy was booming. Progressivism was at its all time boom and companies, economy and inventions and even ideals all seemed to be cherishing this golden age, as well as entertainment industries. New inventions such as the refrigerator were beginning to make lifestyle for families much easier, some of this ease was placed on the shoulders of women. • 56. Brave New World Relevant Today Analysis Even though Brave New World was a story told more than 70 years ago, I still believe it s relevant today. I can see why people would argue that it s not because during that time the world was definitely different than it is today, but the topics the story talked about seemed like they were more toward my generation. The motto of the people in their worldwas to live a lifestyle based on the concept of community, stability, and identity. It changed the whole outlook on what we claim we live by which is life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. With the story being based on sex and drugs, it makes you think; are we kind of heading toward that way of living because of how relaxed we ve become with the idea of those things. There s so much more living to do and that s why I think Brave New Worldis still relevant for today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When you think of a hatchery, you automatically think of a place where eggs are waiting to be hatched, but this was a place where people were basically made. The whole genetic concept of you looking like your mom and dad is totally gone. To the point where words like family was considered so ancient. With our society today I feel like the concept of family is kind of getting out of control, and it s not really normal. People feel like they can just use a man for a child and that s it. A show I watched recently just had a woman saying she wants a baby, but she doesn t care if she s with the man or not she just needs the sperm and that s it. Some argue that they don t need a mother or father to be okay in life, and that could be true but that makes you wonder what really is the meaning of family
