The shape memory effect (SME) refers to the phenomenon of shape recovery in a severely pre-deformed material, but only when a right stimulus is applied. The materials with the SME are called shape memory material (SMM), and typical stimuli include heat, chemical (including water/moisture), light, etc. Right now, the family of SMM has expended significantly, and covers a range of different types of materials, including alloy, polymer and ceramic etc. In general, the SME process includes two steps.

Effect of Process Parameters on the Total Heat Damaged Zone (HDZ) during Micr...IJAMSE Journal
In micro electrical discharge machining, three subsurface layersare formed on the workpiece, they are; recast zone, heat affected zone and converted zone, primarily due to heating-quenching cycles. The HDZ in micro-EDM is characterized by cracks and weakness in the grain boundary and thermal residual stresses. This paper presents the effect of process parameters on the HDZ in micro-EDM of plastic mold steel 1.2738. As the energy of the sparks increases, the thickness of the HDZ increases and the average coefficient of correlation between energy and HDZ considering three different sections of the zone is 0.8099. Therefore, the effect of process parameters governing the discharge energy are analyzed; they are: average current (Ia), peak current (Ip) and pulse ‘on-time’ (Ton). An overall increase in heat-damaged zone thickness by 105% is observed with an increase in pulse on time.

Several Kinds of Thermal Analysis Technologies of Measuring Glass Transition ...IJERA Editor
Thermal analysis technology is a general term of a set of techniques that can measure the material’s performance varying with temperature. The thermal property, volumetric property, mechanical property and electrical property of polymer exist obvious difference through glass transition, tracking these properties’ variation with temperature changes can determine its GTT (glass transition temperature). According to different measuring principles, these thermal analysis technologies of testing GTT are divided into following several categories, they are differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), differential thermal analysis (DTA), modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC), thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA), dynamic thermomechanic analysis (DMA) and dielectric thermal analysis (DEA). The article introduces their testing methods, characteristics and influencing factors, in order to provide a reference for choosing appropriate technique to measure the glass transition temperature.

ANALYSIS OF TEMPERATURE FIELD IN A COMPOSITE FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL PLA...IJAMSE Journal
A finite element model is constructed to analyze the effects of steady state temperature field on FGM layer
thickness. The first-order shear deformation model is exploited to investigate the uncoupled thermal
behavior of functionally graded plates in Abacus environment. The continuum is divided into 540 elements
and 541 nodes using two node linear elements. The results show that the temperature distribution in the
composite plate is more reasonable with increase in the thickness of FGM layer. The comparison with the
non-graded two layered composite plate, the temperature field of the Zirconia/FGM/Aluminum three
layered composite plate is in the form of a curve but in case of non-graded two layered composite plate the
temperature field is in the form of inclined straight line with sharp bend at the interface of metal and
ceramic phase.
Design and analysis of Stress on Thick Walled Cylinder with and with out HolesIJERA Editor
The conventional elastic analysis of thick walled cylinders to final radial & hoop stresses is applicable for the internal pressures up to yield strength of material. The stress is directly proportional to strain up to yield point Beyond elastic point, particularly in thick walled cylinders. The operating pressures are reduced or the material properties are strengthened. There is no such existing theory for the stress distributions around radial holes under impact of varying internal pressure. Present work puts thrust on this area and relation between pressure and stress distribution is plotted graphically based on observations. Here focus is on pure mechanical analysis & hence thermal, effects are not considered. The thick walled cylinders with a radial cross-hole ANSYS Macro program employed to evaluate the fatigue life of vessel. Stresses that remain in material even after removing applied loads are known as residual stresses. These stresses occur only when material begins to yield plastically. Residual stresses can be present in any mechanical structure because of many causes. Residual stresses may be due to the technological process used to make the component. Manufacturing processes lead to plastic deformation. Elasto plastic analysis with bilinear kinematic hardening material is performed to know the effect of hole sizes. It is observed that there are several factors which influence stress intensity factors. The Finite element analysis is conducted using commercial solvers ANSYS & CATIA. Theoretical formulae based results are obtained from MATLAB programs. The results are presented in form of graphs and tables.

Thermoacoustic refrigeration is an evolving cooling technology in which the acoustic power is used to pump heat. The operating conditions and geometric parameters are important for the thermoacoustic refrigerator performance, as they affect both its performance and the temperature difference across the stack. This paper investigates the effect of the stack geometric parameters and operating conditions on the performance of a standing wave thermoacoustic refrigerator and the temperature difference across the stack. DeltaEC software is used to make the thermoacoustic refrigerator model. From the obtained results,
normalised values for the operating conditions and geometric parameters are collected to compromise both the performance and the temperature difference across the stack.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SOLAR HEATING BY NATURAL HEAT CONVECTION AND RADIATIONADEIJ Journal
Heat storage is a good energy saving option these days. Heat storage makes it possible to use thermal
energy at the required time. Solar water heaters for construction purposes and industrial purposes are the
best source to maintain traditional energy sources and thus can maintain high quality energy and liquid or
steel fuel due to the highest rise in their prices. In recent years, using solar energy has become remarkably
cheap and especially noteworthy. The efficiency of natural solar water heater system depends on collector
and reservoir setting, design and environmental factors such as solar intensity, ambient temperature and
wind conditions. Also, the relative height of the tank and collector separation mainly affects the volume of
the Siphon thermal flow rates, including both forward and reverse flow at night. In this pilot investigation,
two parallel rectangular glass plates were connected to the hot water storage tank. The effect of the
separation space between the plates (collectors) (D) was investigated and reported. The results reported
that outlet temperature in case D= 15 cm for two plates decreased approximately 24% and 23% for two
plates. Also, the heat radiated to the room decreased as the inner space between the two plates increased,
and decreased to approximately 25% as compared to stack plates.
Cryogenic Treatment and Cryogenic Cooling in Die Sink Electric Discharge Mach...IJERA Editor
Integration of Cryogenic Treatment and Cryogenic Cooling with EDM process results in a newer process called as the Cryogenically Assisted Electric Discharge Machining (CEDM) process. It is one of very recent developments for the enhancement of process capabilities of EDM. In this technique, either the tool or the workpiece, or tool and workpiece both, may be, cryogenically treated down to sub zero temperatures or the EDM tool is cryogenically cooled with an objective to modify their properties. The modifications in properties result in the reduction of tool wear rate (TWR) and surface roughness (SR) and to increase material removal rate (MRR). An experimental set up for both the variants of CEDM has been discussed in the presented paper
Study On The External Gas-Assisted Mold Temperature Control For Thin Wall Inj...IJERA Editor
Dynamic mold surface temperature control (DMTC) has many advantages in micro-injection molding as well as thin-wall molding product. In this paper, DMTC will be applied for the thin-wall molding part with the observation of the weldline appearance and the weldline strength. The heating step of DMTC will be achieved by the hot air flow directly to the weldline area. The results show that the heating rate could be reached to 4.5C/s, which could raising the mold surface from 30C to over 120C within 15 s. The melt filling was operated with high temperature at the weldline area; therefore, the weldline appearance was eliminated. In addition, the weldline strength was also improved. The results show that the thinner part had the higher strength of the weldline.
Fabrication of new ceramics nanocomposites for solar energy storage and releasejournalBEEI
The carbides nanostructures have huge applications in renewable energy fields such as the saving of solar energy and release which attributed to the good their properties (thermal, electrical, mechanical, optical and chemical). So, in this paper, the solar energy storage and release of carbides nanoparticles/water for building heating and cooling applications have been investigated with different concentrations of metals carbides nanoparticles (tantalum carbide-silicon carbide). The results showed that the melting and solidification times for thermal energy storage and release decrease with an increase (TaC-SiC) nanoparticles concentrations. From the obtained results, the TaC/SiC nanostructures/ water nano-system are considered as promising materials for solar energy storage and release with high efficiency and high gain (more than 50% compare with the water). Also, the TaC/SiC may be used for heating and cooling fields with good performance and high gain.
Review of magnetic refrigeration system as alternative to conventional refrig...Naji Abdullah
The refrigeration system is one of the most important systems in industry.
Developers are constantly seeking for how to avoid the damage to the environment. Magnetic
refrigeration is an emerging, environment-friendly technology based on a magnetic solid that
acts as a refrigerant by magneto-caloric effect (MCE). In the case of ferromagnetic materials,
MCE warms as the magnetic moments of the atom are aligned by the application of a magnetic
field. There are two types of magnetic phase changes that may occur at the Curie point: first
order magnetic transition (FOMT) and second order magnetic transition (SOMT). The
reference cycle for magnetic refrigeration is AMR (Active Magnetic Regenerative cycle),
where the magnetic material matrix works both as a refrigerating medium and as a heat
regenerating medium, while the fluid flowing in the porous matrix works as a heat transfer
medium. Regeneration can be accomplished by blowing a heat transfer fluid in a reciprocating
fashion through the regenerator made of magnetocaloric material that is alternately magnetized
and demagnetized. Many magnetic refrigeration prototypes with different designs and software
models have been built in different parts of the world. In this paper, the authors try to shed
light on the magnetic refrigeration and show its effectiveness compared with conventional
refrigeration methods.

Java in Biology by Uttara Bidwaikar in Research in Medical & Engineering Scie...CrimsonpublishersMedical
Java is a user friendly language. Coding in biology using Java is easier as compared with other languages. Classes and Inheritance have made possible longer and multiple coding. Gene coding and matching using Java would be easier as compared to C. Object oriented programming makes objects instance of classes which can be invoked using objects. Also, web applications can be developed in different colors linking DBMS, Java and HTML.
Function calls at runtime than at compile time using pointers (virtual functions and abstract class derived from base class) saves modification of software. Connectivity of JDBC enables execution of distributed applications across multiple host systems using RMI that is implemented on middle tier of 3 tier architecture framework to invoke an object of a method present on other JVM.

Metaphors to Think about Technological Tools and Patients Care in Family Medi...CrimsonpublishersMedical
In an increasingly technical and technological context, although the scientific advances applied to health have increased the survival of the people and have improved the quality of life, it is becoming increasingly important to reflect through fantasy, which is the way which acts the sciences of the spirit. Thus, stories and metaphors can help us: In this context, a "clinical observation” is presented, from which several metaphors are discussed that may help to reflect on technology, especially at the level of family medicine. We expect high-tech solutions for commonsense problems, but some technological procedures offer reasonable doubts about its safety and effectiveness, and do not represent a competitive advantage. Technology comes to serve the purposes of doctors, but ultimately they redefine their own goals according to technology, which can lead to more problems than it solves, and gives the impression of giving immediate results and without uncertainty, which favors the perpetuate the nature of the technology itself and the human desire for power. Technology has favored that the humanitarian functions of medicine have become mere side effects of treatment, which in itself is understood in purely technical terms. However, family medicine is still a profession that refers to a patient, a pair of ears, a pair of eyes and a pair of hands. The doctor is his own technology when dealing with people and not with pathologies. Until we are able to develop an authentic human science, we will not be developing a technology for the understanding of the human condition.
Technology has always shaped the ways we communicate. Six hundred years ago, it was the printing press. Today, it is the internet and social media, and in the future, artificial intelligence will enable robot journalism, social battlers and simultaneous translation between languages and cultures.
The Internet in general, and more specifically the massive entrance of Smartphone usage into our being, has revolutionized many aspects of human life, including commerce, advertising, social interactions and education. The rapidly increasing use of Smartphone's is a global phenomenon of this millennium. According to recent figures, the number of Smartphone users worldwide surpassed two billion in 2016. These rapid changes pose new challenges on the macro market level, as well as on the micro individual level.
Parasitic diseases remain a major constraint to livestock productivity across all agro ecological zones and production systems in Africa, and gastrointestinal nematodes remain a major economic importance in domesticated livestock throughout the world [1] being the chief parasitizes responsible for disease-related production losses arising from stock mortality, severe weight loss and poor production, especially in small ruminants. The World Health Organization estimates that a staggering 2 billion people harbour parasitic worm infections. Parasitic worms also infect livestock and crops, affecting food production with a resultant economic impact. Also of importance is the infection of domestic pets. Indeed, the companion animal market is a major economic consideration for animal health companies undertaking drug discovery programmes.
Cystic hygroma or cystic lymphangioma is a congenital malformation of the lymphatic system that manifests itself as a soft, benign, and painless mass. It is widely accepted that they arise from the remnants of embryonic lymphatic tissue which retains the potential for proliferation. They grow in the fashion of sprouting and are capable of transgressing anatomical boundary. They can occur almost at any anatomical site.
Aim: Acute gastroenteritis outbreaks common health problem throughout the world especially in children. Everyyear thousands of children dies because of the diarrhea cause of bacterias, parasites and viral diseases. In this study we aim to find the rates of the agents cause diarrhoea, children under 5 years old according to the seasons.
Matherials and methods: In this study 216 stool samples ,children under 5 years old age ,are examine with some tests for Rotaviruses, Adenoviruses, Salmonella, Shigella, Entemoeba and Giardia, Clostridium difficile(ToxinA, Toxin B). Gastroenteritis were tested for Clostridium difficile by means of enzyme-linked immunoassay(ToxinA, Toxin B). CerTest Rotavirus and Adenovirus Card Test (CerTest, Biotec, Spain), a qualitative immunochromatographic assay was used to detect rotavirus and adenovirus antigens. This immunochromatic tests used for detecting Giardia and Entemoeba antigens too and most of the cases we support our results with the microscopy. They were also examined by ELISA for Clostridium difficile cytotoxins A and B. We used macconcey medium for finding the lactose negative colonies after that selenit-f media used for detecting only salmonella and shigella in the stool samples, the final results has been reached by the IMVIC tests.
Result: Infections results 40.74% rotavirus (adenovirus 13.42%, 5 case is mixed infections ) , bacteria 24.98% and parasites 20.82% . Some agents are peak in the cold seasons for example most Rotavirus outbreaks increased in winter.(November 11.36%, December 14.77%, January 13.76%, February 25% ). In contrast some outbreaks occured in hot seasons especially Salmonella ( June 21.42%, July 28.57%, August 35.71%) and Shigella (June 20 %, July 20% ,August 30%)(Table 1).
Conclusion: This study find the highest proportion of dual diarhoeal infections was identified in February, March and April and seasonal occurrence of some mono-infections; infection by rotavirus is more frequent in winter and spring In conclusion we believe that analysis of viral antigens, bacterias and the parasites as a diarrheal agents in stool sample is important in 0-5 years old infants because of hospitalizations and unneccessary drugs.

Oro Mandibular Dystonia (OMD) is considered as a focal dystonia involving mouth, jaw, and tongue, manifested by involuntary muscle contractions producing repetitive, patterned movements of the involved structures. The diagnosis of OMD is purely clinical and is to be differentiated thoroughly from the conditions mimicking the signs. Since it presents in various forms and severities it further renders the management a multidisciplinary approach with variable treatment outcomes. The following is a clinical diagnostic case report of oromandibualar dystonia with presenting signs and symptoms, history and examination characteristic of the condition
Assessment of Bleached and Unbleached Jute Yarn with Various Dyes and Paramet...CrimsonpublishersMedical
This project deals with the studies on dyeing behavior of bleached and unbleached jute yarn dyed with different dyes as well as assessment of different quality parameters like as effect of different color fastness properties, Absorbency and Weight loss. In this research work Reactive dyes (orange), Acid dyes (red), Basic dyes (yellow) and direct dyes (blue) were used. Lab dyeing machine and other fastness machines (To analyze Color Fastness to wash and Colorfastness to rubbing) were used to conduct this research work. It was found that bleached yarn had higher depth of shade and better fastness properties under the same dye concentration. Among all the dyes reactive dyes showed the better fastness property.
Climate Change and Sustainable Management of Salinity in Agriculture: Crimson...CrimsonpublishersMedical
There has been a steady increase in the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide in the environment. Agriculture is reported responsible for up to almost half of all methane emissions. The climate change predictions over India indicate that temperature rise is likely to be around 3”C and rainfall increase is expected by 10-20 per cent over central states of India by 2100 A.D. The climate change triggered frequency of weather related events like floods, droughts, frost, cold and heat waves has considerably increased during last two decades. Continuation of such trends associated with rise in temperature is expected to melt ice, glaciers, re-distribute water flow in rivers, raise sea levels, sub-merge coastal habitats, islands, generate tsunamis and dislocate human and livestock settlements. Predicted spatial redistribution of precipitation, droughts, floods and water balance will change land use, pests, diseases and other ecological parameters. These changes will necessitate the need to devise research strategies to deal with predicted changes to sustain agricultural productivity and to achieve food and nutritional security in 21st century.

The Prevalence of Hcv Infection among Renal Failure Patients Before Starting ...CrimsonpublishersMedical
HCV infection is common and associated with significant morbidity and mortality among heamodialysis (HD) patients [1]. Heamodialysis is a trusted intermediate procedure for management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. As such CKD is an immunedeficient state, hence blood borne viral infection particularly HCV pose great risk to patients treated by heamodialysis [2]. A high prevalence of HCV infection in heamodialysis patients has been reported in heamodialysis units since the introduction of heamodialysis therapy. Risk factors such as the number of blood transfusions or duration on heamodialysis. The prevalence of HCV infection in patients undergoing dialysis is greater than that in the general population, suggesting that patients on dialysis may be at higher risk of acquiring HCV infection.
Tracing Colonialism in 19th Century British Novels by Farhana Haque in Resear...CrimsonpublishersMedical
The aim of this paper is to map out aspects of colonialism and embedded colonial spirit in the works of the Nineteenth century British novelists. To do so i have chosen three quintessential english novels, jane austen’s mans field park (1814), charlotte bronte’s jane eyre (1847), and its prequel wide sargasso sea (1966) written by jean rhys. These three novels from three different eras, the romantic period, the victorian period and the postcolonial modern times, therefore illustrated how literature can often be ingrained with supremacist ideologies and it can also be the means of resistance against the forces of colonialism.
A Comparison of Spectrophotometric and Oxidoreduction Potential Method for La...CrimsonpublishersMedical
Polyphenol oxidases (PPOs) oxidize phenolic compounds forming quinones, which undergo non-enzymatic reactions resulting in colored
compounds. We studied ferulic acid and catechol oxidation by Myceliophthora thermophila laccases using oxidoreduction potential (ORP or Eh) as a novel
method to determine PPO activity compared to the traditional spectrophotometric method. Eh varied time-dependently on ferulic acid and catechol
concentrations. Eh increased to a maximum value (Ehmax), then decreased irreversibly proportional with substrate concentration. The ΔEh curves of
ferulic acid and catechol oxidation at different concentrations by laccase exhibited two steps substrate oxidation: enzymatic and non-enzymatic; linear
segments with increasing and decreasing slopes (rate of ΔEh change). The Km values determined spectrophotometrically and ORP were 0.55, 0.75 and
0.39, 0.32mM for catechol and ferulic acid, respectively. The kinetic parameters (Km, Vmax) of enzymatic reaction were not significantly different between
the spectrophotometry and ORP methods. The ORP method is simple, low-cost and fast enabling the differentiation between the enzymatic and nonenzymatic phenol oxidation reactions

for temperature sensing application, in which a piece of polystyrene
plate (2.5mm thick) is pre-impressed using a carefully designed,
customized mould at one temperature, which is within the glass
transition range of this polystyrene. Upon subsequently gradual
heating from 8 oC to 82 oC the dark lines in the middle appear in
a step by step manner from the right towards the left. Hence, after
calibration, we may monitor the actual highest temperature in a
heating process. Such a kind of temperature sensor requires no
battery for operation and the result can be directly observed by
naked eyes [9].
Figure 3: One-step programming, multiple-step recovery
upon gradual heating in polystyrene. (Reproduced from [9]).
In addition to tailor the start and finish temperatures in heating
induced recovery as mentioned above, we may pre-determine the
start and finish time of a chemo-responsive shape recovery process
as well. As shown in Figure 4 (top), a piece of photo-cross-linked
poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) swells gradually after being immersed
in room temperature water (about 22 oC). However, a piece of wire
madeofthesamePEG,ifpre-stretchedathightemperaturesandthen
immersed in room temperature water, buckling occurs after about
80 s to 88 s (Figure 4, bottom). The observed buckling phenomenon
is due to water-induced SME. For a particular material, the actual
buckling time is controlled by the amount of programming strain
andoriginalthicknessofthePEGwire,andcanbepre-determinedas
shown in Figure 5a & 5b. Since the PEG used here is biodegradable,
such a buckling phenomenon has been proposed for biodegradable
occlusion for liver cancer treatment [10,11]. The SME with tailor
able start and finish temperature/time provides great flexibility to
control shape switching in a pre-determined fashion. It has great
potential in many biomedical applications, such as in biomedical
devices in, for instance, sequentially controlled folding/unfolding
for minimally invasive surgery.

induced by the SME (bottom) (Reproduced from [11] with

diameter at a fixed programming strain of 500%. (Reproduced from [11] with permission).
