2. What Is Divergent Thinking?
• Divergent thinking is the type of thinking in
which a person starts from one point and
comes up with many different ideas or
possibilities based on one point.
• It is reverse of convergent thinking.
3. Creativity
The process of solving problems by combining
ideas or behavior in new ways.
Sometimes a problem requires coming up with
entirely new ways of looking at the problem or
unusual, inventive solutions.
4. What Is Convergent Thinking?
• In convergent, the problem is seen as having only
one answer and whole lines of thinking will
eventually lead to that single answer by using
previous knowledge and logic.
• Eg: In what ways are pencils and pen alike?
can be answered by listing the features that the
two items have in common: both can be used to
write, have similar shapes, and so on, in a simple
comparison process.
5. Ways of stimulating divergent Thinking
• Brainstorming
• Keeping a Journal
• Free writing
