3. Tips for a good presentation.
• Make sure you understand what you are presenting.
– Don’t ever present something you don understand.
• Make sure you don’t have grammar/spelling errors.
– Use the grammar check tool in office.
– Make sure pictures and diagrams are clear and with good resolution
– Use standard formats . Do not waste time creating templates.
• Learn to “read” your audience.
– Does the audience have previous knowledge of the topic?
– Will they understand your technical terms?
– Is English their first language?
• What is the message you want to convey?
• Always have a start/middle/end.
• Make a proposal or conclusion at the end.
• Sometimes is a good idea to have a summary of the situation.
• If more steps are needed, make sure you communicate them.
• Is good idea to ask a colleague to take a look to see if he understands your
presentation.
