Measurement System Analysis
Trainer: Narender Sharma Batch Size: 18-20 participants

Course Overview
Introduction
Decisions are based on data in quality. This data is collected with help of a defined measurement system of the
organization comprises of Gage, Operator and Part, hence it is required that the said measurement system is really
good to make good decision. Measurement system analysis confirms adequacy of measurement system. A
measurement study tests and scores the gage and operator. The gage is scored on Repeatability and the operator is
scored on Reproducibility. Whereas the part to part error is introduced by the process and measured by the part
variation. The combined analysis of the error introduced by the Gage, Operator, and Part in the measurement is
called the Measurement system analysis.
Key Concepts:-
Basics of MSA
 What is measurement study?
 When to use MSA?
 Sources of variation in measurement
 How do measurement errors impact?

when a coin is tossed with fair trial? Moreover in a manufacturing organization, if a piece is drawn at random and found
to be defective then, the defective piece is expected to have been manufactured from which machine? All these questions
can be answered with use of probability.

Course Overview
Introduction
Hypothesis is usually considered as the principal instrument in research and quality control. Its main function is to suggest

This data is collected with help of a defined measurement system of the organization comprises of Gage, Operator and Part, hence it is required that the said measurement system is really good to make good decision. Measurement system analysis confirms adequacy of measurement system. A measurement study tests and scores the gage and operator. The gage is scored on Repeatability and the operator is scored on Reproducibility. Whereas the part to part error is introduced by the process and measured by the part variation. The combined analysis of the error introduced by the Gage, Operator, and Part in the measurement is called the Measurement system analysis. Key Concepts:- Basics of MSA  What is measurement study?  When to use MSA?  Sources of variation in measurement  How do measurement errors impact?  Causes of measurement variation Components of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)  Resolution or Discrimination  Measurement error  Bias  Gage R&R  Linearity  Stability  Calibration plot  Attribute R&R Pre-requisites:- Working knowledge of 7 QC Tools and SPC Participants:- Junior, middle, and senior level personnel of engineering, quality, production, and maintenance can participate.  Happy Learning 

Its main function is to suggest new experiments and observations. In fact, many experiments are carried out with the deliberate object of testing hypothesis. Decision makers often face situations wherein they are interested in testing hypothesis on the basis of available information and then take decisions on the basis of such testing. In Six –Sigma methodology, hypothesis testing is a tool of substance and used in analysis phase of the six sigma project so that improvement can be done in right direction. Key Concepts:-  What is Hypothesis?  Basic concepts concerning testing of hypothesis  Procedure of Hypothesis testing  Limitations of Hypothesis testing  Probability of error for Hypothesis testing  Level of confidence and consequence of wrong decision  Tests of Hypothesis; z-test, t-test, and f-test  Hypothesis testing of means  Hypothesis testing for differences between means  Hypothesis testing for comparing two related samples; paired t-test  Hypothesis testing of proportions  Hypothesis testing for difference between proportions  Hypothesis testing for the equality of variances of two normal populations Pre-requisites:- Basic mathematics, statistics or SPC and Probability, Participants:- Junior, middle, and senior level personnel from every department can participate.  Happy Learning 
