2. Education
I mean an all-round drawing out of the beast in the child

Education is the key to human development.
Education is a fundamental right of every child; Article 26 of
the United Nations declaration of human right 1948
highlights right to education. Article 45 of the constitution of
India notes free and compulsory education for children
under the age of 14 years. Further Articles 41 emphasized
the right to education for persons, including with
disabilities.

3. Special Education
Education of children with special needs is
called special education. The unique needs of
these children are addressed through this
individualized educational plan (lEPs), assistive
devices, access, adapted teaching aids and a
systematic plan and management of resources
are involved in special education. Technology,
approach, adaptations in curriculum is the keys
of education to the children with special needs.

planned for the students with special needs in a
way that addresses the students individual
differences and needs
 It is instruction based progrmme that is specially
designed to meet the special needs of the CWD
 Specially designed instructions that meet the
universal needs of the exceptional students.
 It should contains the specialized teaching
methods or techniques, special materials,
special facilities.

6. Integrated Education
The main objective of I.E is “ Education for All”,
and with the purpose of integrating the people with
impairment in the society as equal members, the
government of India has brought about a scheme
known as the Integrated Education for Disabled
Children (IEDC). The overall aim of the program is
to enable such people to face life courageously
and develop a level of self confidence thus
bringing them into the mainstream of the society.
IEDC is a centrally sponsored scheme which aims
to offer Educational Opportunities to the "not so
able" children.

7. Integrated Education
This program was
initiated in 1974 by the
Ministry of social justice and
empowerment, Central
Government. Under this
program children were to be
provided with financial
support for books,
stationery, school uniforms,
transportation, special
equipment and aids. The
state governments were
provided with 50 percent of
the financial assistance to
implement this program in
regular schools.

8. Inclusive education
Inclusive education is a global agenda.
Generally, inclusion in education means, “Full
participation of children with diverse abilities
in all aspects of schooling those other
children is able to access and enjoy”. Inclusion
also refers to the opportunity for children
with a disability to participate fully in all of
the educational, employment, consumer,
recreational, community and domestic
activities that justify everyday in society.

9. • Inclusive education or school for all is about main
streaming disabled children in regular schools. It is
about valuing the differences in the child and
catering to their different needs and is based on
the belief that all can learn together.
• Inclusive education not only provides quality
education to all children but also changes
discriminatory attitudes within communities and
helps to develop an inclusive society. Therefore
Inclusive education means creating effective
classrooms where the educational needs of all
children are addressed irrespective of ability or
disability.

11. Integration is the process of providing
educational opportunity for children with
special educational needs to uplift along with
the children without special educational needs
as equal partners in the same general education
system. It provides the measures and help to
place children with special educational needs in
mainstream classrooms with the help of
policies, programmes and legislation. The
special education component lies in its viewed
as a part of the general education system.

12. Inclusive education goes one step further,
and made the special education component as
integral part of the general education system
i.e., both special and general education
components interact with each other in
inclusive setting that facilitate the flexibility
among programs and practices.

16. Scope of Inclusive Education
Inclusion doesn’t mean to dumping
children with special needs into the regular
classroom. We have to accept their diversity,
respect their individuality and create
opportunities for their participation in all
activities of the school, and provide support to
both children & teachers so that children can
realize their full potentials & teachers will be
able to improve their performance.

17. The concept of I.E is often discussed as
though it applies only to Spl. Edn. But it has
much wider scope

schools
