costumes that will feature within my music video

Adidas Jumper- Caden is in the band, which means he is in the performance
element of the video. For the band, I’m wanting all the members to look
effortlessly cool, whilst still looking like professionals. So with the clothing I wanted
something that reflected them not trying too hard but still making an effort to look
good for the performance. I believe that an Adidas jumper will reflect this because
it isn’t immature, it is just casually smart making this look real. This type of clothing
also relates to the target audience of teens and younger adults because its
fashionable and trendy. This isn’t what a band member would usually wear
stereotypically so by my choosing this I am challenging the general stereotype but I
am confident this is a good idea for the reasons above.
Black Jeans- this piece of clothing is here to be subtle and not really drawing much
attention. This is because I want him to look sophisticated when performing so
these jeans will be subtle but smart and effective. The jeans wont have any other
atheistic abnormalities to them like rips. This is because I want my lead singer to
look formal and sophisticated like I mentioned above.
Adidas Trainers- these trainers are very casual but also smart which will re-establish
that the band are very casual but still professional. Adidas trainers are also very
relatable for the target audience which will interesting for the video. The shoes
themselves won’t necessarily be the cleanest, they will have an untidy and slightly
worn look to them and this will be to make them look effortlessly cool like I have
spoke about. The audience will also be able to relate to this because more often
than not peoples shoes aren’t in perfect condition and are slightly worn.

3. Jaye-Lea Richardson
Adidas Jacket- I have once again chosen the same brand with Adidas for
Jaye-Lea, this is because I feel that it is a brand that can be interpreted in
many different ways such as being smart but on the other end of the scale
it is seen as informal, and as I want the band to look effortlessly cool during
their appearance within the video so this is why I feel it is the perfect piece
of clothing. Also it relates to the target audience because it is a popular and
fashionable brand for people that are teenagers and young adults.
Blue Jeans- This piece of clothing aims to do the same job as Cadens jeans,
being there to look smart and sophisticated whilst still looking smart,
however I have gone for blue jeans with Jaye-Lea because I feel it will add
variation within the band so they don’t all look identical essentially. Blue
jeans also once again relate with the target audience because they’re
trendy amongst teenagers and young adults.
Plain Black Vans- Jaye-Lea’s shoes once again similarly to Caden, are there
to look casual and effortless but still look smart so the band don’t come
across as scruffy and informal. Also because the shoes are Vans it means
the target audience will be able to relate to it because trainers, certainly
Vans are the most common and popular type of shoe amongst that age
group.

4. Niall Armstrong- Outfit 1
Niall will be in the narrative element of the video, meaning
there will be a multitude of different costumes that he will be
wearing because he will be seen at different points of time.
First piece of clothing that Niall will be seen wearing is a high-vis jacket and this is
to signify that he has been working a labour like job. Many people of the target
audience work a labour job meaning they will be able to understand and relate to
the character.
Niall’s pants will be normal jeans, alternating between black and blue in different
situations to keep variety. If the character was wearing something like joggers it
would come across as informal so I have gone with the jeans because they are
casual but at the same time do come across as a formal piece of clothing to wear
in most circumstances and certainly the ones Niall’s character is put in within the
music video it is quite formal.
One of Niall’s pair of footwear will be casual adidas trainers to wear when he’s
relaxing and not working his job. This is mostly here to appeal to the target
audience because adidas itself is a trendy and fashionable brand so they will
see it in the video and relate to it.
Niall’s final piece of clothing will be a Superdry hoodie, this will be because it is
a casual piece of clothing but still smart and what I would want this character
to wear when he is not wearing his work clothing. This brand is also very
popular with the target audience which would make them want to watch the
music video.

5. Niall Armstrong- Outfit 2
The North Face Jacket- Another piece of top clothing that Niall
will be wearing is a North Face jacket. This will be worn when
Niall goes out to the reservoir because it adds variety to the
video and is a sensible and realistic thing to wear. Also this is a
relatable piece of clothing because The North Face is a very
popular brand amongst all age groups but certainly my target
audience which will make them want to watch.
Cheap Work Shoes- These will be worn when Niall is coming
back from work nearer to the start of the video. This is to add to
the realism that Niall has been working to make it more
emotional. These shoes will be brand-less and this is to give the
viewers the idea that the shoes were relatively cheap and are
only there to get the job done.

6. Lucy Ambler
First piece of clothing that Lucy will be wearing is a plain back Bomber
jacket. This is because her character isn’t vocal with how she is
presented so this is to look casual but still smart enough to wear. This
also links to the target audience because it is relatively fashionable for
the age group therefore when they watch it, it will relate to them.
Another piece of clothing will be an Adidas t-shirt and this is because
this is fashionable meaning its common that a character like Lucy’s
character would wear it all the time. Also the target audience where
this meaning they would be able to relate to it.
Lucy’s pants would be blue jeans/Adidas bottoms and this is because
these are popular and common lounging pants, this is common
amongst people of her age so this once again is relatable.
Lucy’s shoes will be primarily trainers like vans and Adidas depending
on the scene; this will be because these shoes are very popular and
certainly for girls of that age so wearing these will make it seem
realistic and it will relate to the target audience making them wan to
watch it.
