locations that will feature within my music video

2. Niall’s Bedroom
One of the predominately featured location within my music video will be Niall’s
bedroom to be Niall’s characters bedroom. This will be a normal teenagers room with
relatable scenery to appeal to the target audience.
This will be advantageous for me because unlike locations in school I will be able to
film there as freely as I like; school, rooms will be booked more often than not
meaning I cannot film as I please. Furthermore If I used a room within school and tried
to make it into a bedroom it will take away the realism, using an actual teenagers
bedroom is as authentic as it gets.
The bedroom itself we be portrayed in a darker way, because I am trying to capture
the emotion of Niall’s character whilst it is love, other emotions do come along with
this like confusion and lust. So to portray this emotion into one of the settings will be
done visually because if the room looked all bright and colourful it would give off the
wrong message.

3. Lucy’s Bedroom
Another location that will be seen often is Lucy’s bedroom and like Niall, this will be
for her character also. The rooms will be similar in structure, meaning this room will
also be a very teenagers room however you will be able to this is a girls room due to
the mise en scene of the location.
Once again this will be beneficial for me to film here because it allows me to film any
time I please with no restrictions unlike if I was in school again because rooms aren’t
always available. Also having both the main characters from the narrative aspect
bedroom allows me to show emotions of the both characters incredibly well. Lucy’s
characters emotion will be portrayed visually in the room once again. With similar
emotions as Niall being shown, predominately love.
As I spoke about, the scenery in the room will help capture the emotion and establish
the fact that it is a females room comparing it to Niall’s room. Having both genders
rooms and the fact that they are the same age will appeal the target audience and
more importantly it will appeal to both genders equally.

4. Ogden Waters
Ogden Waters will be another location that will be featured in the narrative element of the video.
It will be mainly the bridge of by side of the water, this location is very open and I am presuming
the weather will be really grey which is the setting I want for the video because of the emotion of
love can be dark at times and I want to visually represent this.
Ogden Waters itself is a very local reservoir and is open all time for the public which means I will
be able to film there as I please with no limitations. The only restriction that I will have is the fact
it will get dark early but I will be able to film straight after school or on weekends.
Niall and Lucy’s character will be the only people in the shots, and I’m going to use a range of
shots including extreme wide shot and this will be to portray the emotion that Niall’s character
has for Lucy's character, the shots will include the two character and then vast wilderness; this is
to demonstrate that even though they have a whole work to explore, it doesn’t matter because
they have one another.

5. Ogden Woods
Ogden Woods is another location that is in the narrative element of my video and once again is a
location that is free and open for filming at all times. This is right next to Ogden Waters meaning
it is local which means I will be able to go any time I like. Both this and Ogden Waters are a 5
minute drive from my house and school.
This will be predominately used as a location which will be used to isolate the main two
characters from the rest of the world to make it appear as it is just them two that matters. As this
will be from Niall’s characters perspective, he only sees Lucy so this location exaggerates that.
The couple will mostly spend time walking around here with one another or by themselves. this
location will only feature during the narrative and not whilst the performance is taking place, I’ve
done this to make it feel realistic isolating the narrative world and the performance world
because I want the emotion to be genuine.

6. The Performing Arts Room
This location will strictly be used for the performance section of the song. This location is in
school which means filming here will be limited to after school and free periods however this
isn’t much of an issue it just requires some organisation prior to make sure that it is free.
The band will be in here playing the song. Whilst this space is relatively small I will still be able to
keep it interesting with dozens of different shots whilst the song is playing and shown in quick
succession. The location will be as real as an actual stage as I can make it and this will be with
actual wires from guitars and microphone and this is to ensure that it looks as realistic as
possible.
I have chosen to use this location because it can easily replicate a place of performance because
of the black curtains in the back, this is good for my situation because the room is adaptable to
make it look however I want. The instruments I am using are close to that room also which helps
because they are easily accessible to bring into that room to film.

7. The School Hall
This is another location that will strictly be used as an area for the
performance side of the video. This is because the school hall has a white
backdrop which can easily be replicated as a stage for performance.
This location is good for me because like the performing arts room, it is in
school. Access will be slightly more limited with me only most likely being
able to use after school, however this isn’t an issue. Its good because once
again its an easy locations to be able to bring all the instruments down and
set the stage up so it looks completely realistic.
