In 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs established a committee led by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, former Vice Chancellor of National Law University (NLU), Delhi. This committee was tasked with reviewing the three codes of criminal law. The primary objective of the committee was to propose comprehensive reforms to the country’s criminal laws in a manner that is both principled and effective.
The committee’s focus was on ensuring the safety and security of individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole. Throughout its deliberations, the committee aimed to uphold constitutional values such as justice, dignity, and the intrinsic value of each individual. Their goal was to recommend amendments to the criminal laws that align with these values and priorities.
Subsequently, in February, the committee successfully submitted its recommendations regarding amendments to the criminal law. These recommendations are intended to serve as a foundation for enhancing the current legal framework, promoting safety and security, and upholding the constitutional principles of justice, dignity, and the inherent worth of every individual.

How does copyright work?
• A copyrighted work must be an original
work of authorship which is fixed in a
tangible medium of expression.
• The Copyright Act prevents the
unauthorized copying of a work of
authorship. However, only the copying of
the work is prohibited--anyone may copy
the ideas contained within a work. For
example, a copyright could cover a
written description of a machine, but the
actual machine itself is not covered.
How does creative common license
work
• A CC license is used when an author wants to
give other people the right to share, use, and
build upon a work that the author has created.
• These licences help the creator to give
permission for others to use the work in
advance under certain conditions.
• Creative Commons is a system that allows you
to legally use “some rights reserved” music,
movies, images, and other content — all for
free. CC offers free copyright licenses that
anyone can use to mark their creative work
with the freedoms they want it to carry.

processes are not copyrightable and many
more.
