Introduction
 We choose this theme because it is a current topic. But also
because we think that there are many people who don’t know
their rights as consumers.
 In this work we are going to talk about what is consumer,
some consumer’s rights and the foundation of DECO.
Consuming / Consumer
Consuming
• is the act of using goods or services in
order to meet the needs.
Consumer
• is any person or entity that acquires a
good or service for consumption.
Some consumer’s rights
 Right to protection of health and safety
 Right to quality of goods or services
 Right to protection of economic interests
 Right to prevent and repair damage
 Right to training and consumer education
 Right to information for consumption
 Right to representation and consultation
 Right to legal protection and a accessible and ready justice
DECO
 Since Deco was founded in 1974, Portugal has undergone many
changes not only in the political but also in the social and economic
level, thus arousing the rights of consumers making the country now
having a different mentality.
 DECO provides various services to consumers, both taking the
doubts about their rights in the information service, or making a claim
for a defective product.

Inform and provide advice to the consumer

Denounce the harmful practices to the
consumers’interests

• Analyzes the complaints with a view to resolving the conflict
consumer complaint and if necessary present to the
authorities.
Office of Consumer Support

asked by their members, where you will find simple answers to
key consumer issues, and yet at the end of each answer helpful
links.
