Hybrid Concrete Construction-
This is a system of construction in
which precast concrete members
are joined/connected with insitu
concrete. An example is TWIN
WALLS.

Concrete Cores-
This gives the building rigidity. It is a concrete
enclosure (e.g rectangular box) with no windows
that normally rises from the bottom of the building
to the top of the building. It is sometimes used as
the elevator shaft and it provides wind resistance
for any building. Extra reinforcement is provided
between the cores and the slabs inorder to
prevent shortening due to differential stresses.
There are 3 ways of building cores
(a) Slip form
(b) Jump form
(c) Twin walls

CONCRETE SYSTEMS
Precast concrete-
This is concrete that is manufac
tured offsite, transported to the
site and joined together using
shotcrete. It provides a quicker
and cheaper alternative to insitu
construction but cannot be used
in very complex projects.
