WORKING SEQUENCE
PT Flat slab after Deshuttering.
STEP 17
ADVANTAGES / SAVINGS BY POST TENSIONING SLABS.
1 Column free space/Larger span for commercial/shopping complexes.
2 Speedy Floor to Floor construction cycle time( 10 days per slab) due to
implified formwork and reduced quantities of materials.
3 Reduction in Dead load due to Thinner slab which will make cost savings
in foundation and columns design and more resistant to seismic forces.
4 Due to Post Tensioning, earlier stripping of formwork ie, below 10 days,
thus achieving higher recycling of shuttering .
5 Reduction of reinforcement Quantity and easy handling of Post Tensioning
Materials in congested site areas.
6 Less no of work force engaged for Post Tensioning works than RCC slabs.
7 Reduction in overall building Height, therby additional floors are possible
in height restricted zones.
8 Reduction of cost in vertical structural element.
9 Flexibility for providing service ducts and False ceilings.
10 Greater Flexibility for penetrations and openings in floors, both pre and
post construction
Cost comparison Utraco 3/3/2010
