Example Of Dialogue Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Example Of Dialogue Essay" can present its own set of
challenges. Firstly, it requires a deep understanding of the nuances of dialogue writing, which
involves capturing the essence of conversation in a written form. Balancing authenticity and
clarity can be tricky, as too much realism may lead to confusion, while too much formality may
strip away the natural flow.
Moreover, selecting a compelling example to dissect and discuss is crucial. It demands not only
an insightful analysis but also the ability to showcase the significance of the chosen dialogue in
the broader context of the essay. This requires a keen eye for detail and an understanding of how
dialogue contributes to character development, plot progression, and overall narrative impact.
Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Ensuring a logical flow of ideas, from introducing
the example to dissecting its elements, requires a thoughtful organization of content. A smooth
transition between different aspects of dialogue, such as tone, pacing, and character
differentiation, is essential to maintain coherence throughout the essay.
The writing process itself requires a careful balance between creativity and precision. Crafting
engaging and authentic dialogue samples while adhering to grammatical rules and stylistic
guidelines is a delicate task. Striving for clarity and coherence, while also infusing the dialogue
with the necessary emotional and contextual elements, adds an extra layer of complexity.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic "Example Of Dialogue Essay" demands a
combination of analytical skills, creative flair, and a meticulous approach to structure and
language. It requires the writer to navigate through the intricacies of dialogue construction, while
also effectively communicating the broader implications of the chosen example. Despite these
challenges, the process can be immensely rewarding, offering an opportunity to delve into the art
and impact of dialogue in written expression.

Gross-Motor
Gross Motor pertains to movements related to our large muscles (e.g., legs, arms). As
noted in our text book, Gross motor skills provide a foundation for fine motor
development, cognition, communication, adaptive skills, and social and emotional
competence in the typically developing child (Hooper Umansky,p. 163). Fine Motor
applies to movements related to small muscle groups (e.g., hands, fingers). During the
first three months, infants displaying typical development, are working on postural
control and rotation of their bodies. While on their tummy babies will lift to hold up
their head, and push their bodies up with their arms. At four to six months babies are
sitting up supported by their own hands and can reach to play with feet.
Eloi Vs Morlocks
The Time machine by H.G Wells imagines what it might be like to travel into the
future. Wells presents two creatures in the text that has evolved during the time.
These creatures are the Eloi and the Morlocks. Even though the Eloi and the Morlocks
both have human traits, the text suggests that the Eloiare more human than the
Morlocks because of their body form and thinking.
Wells proposes the Eloi are the upper class society and that the Morlocks are weird
looking creatures. The time traveler has arrived in the future where he has lost his
time machine. While trying to locate the machine he discovers a civilization known
as the Eloi. Wells points out that the Eloi like to spend all their time in playing gently,
in bathing in the river, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The body form of an Eloi and their lifestyle is viewed very differently compared to
the Morlocks. The Eloi are little people, they are beautiful and fragile. Wells
suggests that the Eloi have more human traits than the Morlocks. He goes on to
explain the living conditions of an Eloi. They have several big palaces, great
dining halls and sleeping apartments (Wells 51). Similar to how humans live, this
passage suggests that although the place is falling apart, it is still a home to the
Eloi. The text gives us the sense that the Eloi is living in a utopian society where
their existence is similar to human traits. Humans do live in apartments, eat at the
dining places and have big cities. The comparison between the Morlocks form and
lifestyle is that the Morlocks do not wear clothing, which is very noticeable in
human society, also the text suggest that the Morlocks looks like apes. The text
also suggests that the Morlocks are savages in which they serve the Eloi, but in
return, they eat them. The text even goes on to suggest that the Morlocks are like
little monster who are attracted to darkness instead of light. Wells provides us with
a better description the Morlocks suggesting they are dull white, and had strange
large greyish red eyes; also that there was flayen hair on its head and down its back
Statutory Construction Cases
Statutory Construction: Case Digests
Statutory Construction it is the various methods and tests used by the courts for
determining the meaning of law.
I. General Principles in defining Statutory Construction
Whether the promotional scheme is a lottery or a gift that violates the provisions of
the Postal Law (Caltex v. Palomar)
In the case at bar, there is no requirement in the rules that any fee be paid, any
merchandise be bought, any service be rendered, or any value whatsoever be given
for the privilege to participate. The scheme is merely a gratuitous distribution of
property by chance which does not violate the provisions of the Postal Law.

335 of the Civil Code.
The words used in paragraph (1) of Article 335 of the Civil Code, in enumerating the
persons who cannot adopt, are clear and unambiguous. When the New Civil Code
was adopted, it changed the word descendant, found in the Spanish Civil Code to
which the New Civil Code was patterned, to children. The children thus mentioned
have a clearly defined meaning in law and do not include grandchildren. In the
present case, Roderick and Rommel Daoang, the grandchildren of Antero Agonoy and
Amanda Ramos Agonoy, cannot assail the adoption of Quirino Bonilla and Wilson
Marcos by the Agonoys. Therefore, the general rule is that only statutes with an
ambiguous or doubtful meaning may be the subjects of statutory construction.
5. Paras v. Comelec
Is SK to be considered a regular local election in a recall proceeding?
The subject provision of the Local Government Code, Sec. 74 Paragraph (b)
provides that No recall shall take place within one year from the date of the official s
assumption to office or one year immediately preceding a regular local election .
Hence, It is a rule in statutory construction that every part of the statute must be
interpreted with reference to the context. In the present case, the Sangguniang
Kabataan elections cannot be considered a regular election, as this would render
inutile the recall provision of the Local Government Code. It would be more in

The Many Uses of the Element Cobalt
The Many Uses of the Element Cobalt There are many elements in the world and
one of them is cobalt. It is a silvery blue metal with a blue coat. It is element number
twenty seven on the table which means that it has twenty seven protons and electrons.
One mole or its atomic weight is 58.9 grams. It has a relatively high melting and
boiling point, the melting point being 1,495 degrees Celsius or 2,723 Fahrenheit and
the boiling point being 2,927 degrees Celsius or 5,301 Fahrenheit. The top three
countries that mine this element are the District Republic of the Congo, Cuba, and
Australia in that order. Cobalthas had and still has many uses in the world today.

Cobalt is used in these fields for many reasons. The main reason though is that cobalt
has a high Curie temperature. A Curie temperature is basically how hot a metalcan be
heated while maintaining its magnetism. Cobalt s Curie temp is 1,121 degrees
Celsius. Cobalt also has a high magnetic power and tesla (magnetic density)
(Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is also used in various electronics. Cobalt is used because it
has the power to carry and direct currents like other metals. Cobalt is used in
circuits and semi conductors because of this. Cobalt is also used in batteries.
Cobalt is used as a powder in batteries to raise the power while stabilizing the
battery at the same time. One of the main visual uses of cobalt though, is in
chemistry. Cobalt has many uses in the aspect of Chemistry. One of the main uses
is a catalyst in petroleum. Specifically, CoMoO4 is used to help change petroleum
into gas (Newton). This chemical removes the sulfur in the oil to make it a useable
fuel source. Also cobalt is used as a catalyst to speed up the resin process when
making plastics (Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is also used to produce bright blue colors in
paints (Cobalt Periodic). They are also in many other chemical dyes and paints and
they can help determine how quickly these paints dry which can be very important
to artists (Cobalt Facts). They are also used in dyes for glass, glazes, cosmetics,
inks, and pottery (Newton). Here is a chart on chemical

Case: Competitive Advantage:Business Dilemma To survive and thrive, an
organization must create a competitive advantage. A competitive advantage is a
product or service that an organization s customers place a greater value on than
similar offerings from a competitor. Unfortunately, competitive advantages are
typically temporary because competitors often seek ways to duplicate the competitive
advantage. In turn, organizations must develop a strategy based on a new
competitive advantage. When an organization is the first to market with a

With respect to the relationship with suppliers, organizations function as buyers
and thus prefer to increase their own buyer power with suppliers (and create

Again, there are two situations in the supply chain where organizations need to be
concerned: i) in their relationships with customers; and ii) in their relationships with
suppliers. Regarding the relationships with customers, organizations function as
suppliers and thus want supplier power to be high. With respect to the relationships
with suppliers, organizations function as buyers and therefore want supplier power
to be low (see Figure 1.14). As a buyer, the organization can create a competitive

Symbols In Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train
Symbols in Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train
Throughout all of Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train Symbols are used to show
a character s true personality and to help get the reader emotionally invested in a
character as well as revealing more about the characters past. Four examples of
symbols in the novel are Vivian s Claddagh, Molly s turtle tattoo and necklace as
well as Vivian s attic. A good example of how symbols are used in the novel is
Vivian s Claddagh from her grandmother. The Claddagh consists of a heart, a crown
and a pair of hands. The heart represents love, the crown represents loyalty and the
hands represent friendship. Vivian only truly begins to show these traits when she
moves in with the Nielsen s and she meets with Dutchy once again. She only shows
two of the three traits to the Nielsen s, loyalty and friendship which is shown when
she says, What I feel for the Nielsens gratitude, respect, appreciation isn t the same
as a child s love for her parents (Baker Kline 183). She says that she cannot see the
Nielsen s as her true parents and she probably never will but she does treat them like
family and helps make sure that their store continues to prosper. Even after the
Nielsen s have grown old and aren t able to run the store as well as they used to
Vivian steps in and helps pick up the slack. She only begins to show true love when
she meets with Dutchy again. They eventually get married and Vivian shows that she
is truly in love with Dutchy when she
Comparison Of Cyrano De Bergerac And Roxanne
Well known books or plays are often made into movies. They are often modernized
and made into satirical comedies. This is the case with the play Cyrano De
Bergerac by Edmond Rostand and Roxanne directed by Fred Schepisi. In Cyrano
de Bergerac the main character, Cyrano, is in love with a beautiful woman named
Roxane. Cyrano is a skilled fighter and poet but Roxane is in love with Christian
who is a young cadet. Cyrano helps Christian impress Roxane and Roxane ends up
falling deeply in love with Christian due to Cyrano. This leads to Roxane falling in
love with Cyrano instead of Christian. In the film Roxanne, the classic story is
modernized and set in a small town. Both of the works have a main theme of what is

The director of Roxanne does a very good job of keeping the relationships between
the characters true to the original play. For example, the relationship between the
Roxane and Cyrano roles in both works. In Cyrano de Bergerac, Cyrano and Roxane
have a good friendship which is apparent because Roxane goes to Cyrano to tell
him about her love for Christian. In Roxanne, Roxanne goes to C.D for help with
getting Chris to like her. This is an obvious similarity between the two characters in
both productions. Another similarity is the relationship between Christian and
Cyrano. In Cyrano de Bergerac, Christian and Cyrano meet when Christian begins
to insult Cyrano s nose. This leads to Cyrano realizing who Christian is and
eventually accepting him. Their relationship develops when Cyrano reveals
Roxane s feelings for him. Christian feels very dim witted when it comes to love so
he calls on Cyrano for help. Similarly in Roxanne, Chris and C. D meet when Chris
insults C. D s nose. The two eventually become friends and Chris asks Charlie for
help to have intercourse with Roxanne. These two instances show how similar the
relationships are in translation from the play to the movie

always saying stupid stuff to make people leave him alone, Harold was not at all

There Should be a Financial Incentive for People to Recycle
There are many compelling reasons to recycle, for instance, recycling saves energy,
benefits the economy, conserves resources, and is better for wildlife yet the
majority of Americans do not recycle. According to the Environmental Protection
Agency, only thirty eight percent of Americans profess to be avid recyclers. This is
an alarming statistic given that the average American generates 4.4 pounds of trash
a day. As a nation this country produces approximately 250 million tons of trash
every year. Only thirty five percent of the millions of tons of trash collected
annually in the United States is recycled. There are a myriad of reasons given by
those who do not recycle. For example, some Americans consider recycling
inconvenient,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the recycling industry creates jobs since companies are needed to collect
and process the recycling. The U.S. Recycling Economic Information Study reports
almost 1.1 million people work in the more 56,000 recycling and re purposing
industries across the country. Recycling is beneficial for the environment in many
ways for example, it reduces the
Pollution caused by landfill, limits wildlife habitat destruction, and conserves
energy which saves natural resources. Landfills produce greenhouse gasses and
release toxic chemicals, therefore less trash in the landfill means less of these
harmful substance are released. Also, recycling decreases the need for raw
materials, which means less habitat destruction occurs and there is a reduction in
global warming. Creating new products from raw materials uses much more
energy than recycling an old product into something new does. Nationally,
approximately thirty eight percent of Americans recycle, which saves the country
1.5 quads of energy per year. Because one quad of energy equates to one quadrillion
or thousand trillion of bauxite that means a total savings of 1,5 % in national
yearly energy usage occurs. In 2010 for example, 85 million tons of solid waste was
recycled or composted which saved more than 1.3 quadrillion bauxite s worth of
energy, which is equal to 229 million barrels of oil.
Compare And Contrast Anglo Saxon And English Language
Both the Anglo Saxons and Vikings had their own identity and language, they migrate
and then have to find ways to communicate and understand each other. The same
happened in the previous centuries when countries were invaded by other tribes and
cultures integrated. People were brought together and had to communicate, new
languages were formed or existing languages had to adapt to accommodate new loan
words and phrases. Written communication had to be such that most of the readers
influence on English, as a modern language today is still visible. Each of these
cultures, their language and religions contributed to the development and evolvement
of Old Englishinto the international language English is now. In modern times

One of the most famous literary pieces from this period is a poem titled Beowulf it
was written around the 8th Century. Mastin claims that The 3,182 lines of the work
shows that Old English was already a fully developed poetic language by this time,
with a particular emphasis on alliteration and percussive effects (Mastin, 2011).
Furthermore, Horne suggests, The Old English language was capable of poignant
and haunting poetic expression . Considering that the Anglo Saxons contributed not
only their language, but also the influence of their religious beliefs and the Latin used
in the church, it can be concluded that they had a major influence on the formation of

The Negative Effects Of Oxidative Stress
Kozakowska et al., (2015) findings show that it is possible for exercises to support
special adaptations as regards to the group and vigor of the physical activity
engaged. Based on their findings, they hypothesize that the adaptations occur to
protect the muscles from disproportionate ROS generation, hence, enhancing the
motor activities (Kozakowska et al., 2015). Their findings show that light exercises
and warm up regimens reduced erythrocyte MDA and raised erythrocyte SOD
performance in patients with MD who engaged in regular light workouts. This study
is corroborated by the study done by Al Naama et al., (2015) whose findings were
that low intensity exercises was adequate to improve MDA levels and carbonyl

Some studies suggest that the apoptotic activities cause sequential death of cells
through biochemical processes that change the traits of the cells. Some of the
changes occur through DNA mutation, swelling of the cell plasma membrane, and
the impairment of the mRNA (Rowland Pedley, 2010). Research in apoptosis has
divulged new findings suggesting that the process irrepressible once it begins making
it one of the most highly controlled process of the cell functioning (GieГџing, 2005).
Another study on the role of apoptotic activity divulges that this activity may be
started by one of two pathways, namely the intrinsic and extrinsic pathway (Elmore,
2007). When MD patients engage in high intensity exercises cause a decrease in the
production of ROS that makes cells in the intrinsic pathway to self engage and kill
themselves as they are sensitive to the stress on the cells. The death that occurs in the
cells in the extrinsic pathway is thought to be due to the activation of the caspases
that cause the death of cells and enzymes that debase protein functions. In the case of
extrinsic pathway cell death, it assumed that both pathways prompt the death of cells
(Elmore, 2007). A research conducted by Rahimov and Kunkel (2013) explored the
role of high intensity exercise on the myofiber membrane in MD. Their study found
adverse effects in terms of the weakening of the myofiber membrane. The possible
cause for this as they
Correlation Between Gram Positive And Gram Negative...
Purpose: To understand the difference between Gram positive and Gram negative
bacteria. We also used this lab to examine our mixed culture, which had been Gram
stained, under the microscope.
Theory and background
The bacterial cell wall is the outer layer of the cell that aids in structural support and
protection from the outside environment. Bacteria can be identified by the structure of
their cell wall and classified into two groups known to have different cell wall types.
Two of these types are referred to as the Gram positive and Gram negative cell wall.
Gram positive bacteria, or bacteria with Gram positive cell walls, are very thick
due to the large amounts of peptidoglycan it contains. Peptidoglycan makes up
most of the cell wall and is made up of long chains of glycan that are joined
together by short peptide fragments (Chess and Talaro,2015). The many layers of
peptidoglycan the cell wall contains are what allow it to provide a rigid structure
and solid support for the cell. In fact, the many layers of peptidoglycan in the cell
wall can range anywhere from 50 80 nanometers thick (Todar, 2012). Although the
peptidoglycan takes up the bulk of the cell wall in Gram positive bacteria, there are
also two other components that play an important role for the cell wall that are
either nearby or attached directly to the peptidoglycan. Attached to the cell
membrane, which lies directly below the cell wall, is a molecule known as
lipoteichoic acid. The second

The Antamina mine, was the underlying asset of this bidding process which
included 40 bidders; though that number was steadily dwindling, and by June of
1996 was down to only a handful serious contenders. Within the copper mining
industry, there were three dominant players, RTZ CRA, Noranda, and a joint
venture of Inmet Mining and Rio Algom. These three were believed to be the
primary bidders. All three had ancillary mineral mining practices aside from
copper, as well as other areas of business. RTZ CRA was the largest of these three,
and was believed to be the best positioned to prevail on the bidding. The other
bidders were smaller in capital but had the same level of mining experience. The
joint venture of Rio Algom and Inmet had only $1.5 billion combined market
capitalization, but Inmet had a healthier capital structure and less financial risk
which created a lower cost of capital. The bidding rules reduced the sensitivity of
capital and created comparative advantages for smaller players. For RTZ CRA to
execute on their bid and acquire Antamina at a strategically economic price, they
would have to have made the decision of whether this property would provide long
term economic and strategic value. Since their footprint was global, they would be
unable to introduce certain synergies based on asset proximity of their other
properties. Antamina would most likely have to be acquired and operated as a stand

Siddhartha, By Hermann Hesse
Siddhartha Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse was a very interesting book to read. I
found it to be a very interesting way for people, like myself, who are not Hindus,
and who do not live in India to learn about the Indian and Hindu culture and religion
without being there physically to experience it. This book is about a boy,
Siddhartha, who is probably somewhere in his teenage years. He lives with his father,
who is a Brahmin, they live together in ancient India. As in many cases, there is an
expectation that Siddhartha is going to follow in his father s footsteps. If this were
to take place then Siddhartha would become a Brahmin and do the same types of
things in his life that his father has done in his. I particularly liked this book
because I felt as though it was something that many people can relate to. While a lot
of people, at least not in the United States, do not have the expectation of becoming
a Brahmin, there are a lot of children and young adults who are expected to follow
what their parents have done in their life, or what if not following their exact path
then they are expected to follow the path that their parents have chosen for them.
Going back to the book, Siddhartha continues to struggle after he and his friend hang
out together, and everything is perfect, but then, all of a sudden he doesn t feel
anything, he isn t happy, which concerned him because it was something that would
normally make him and other people very happy. Siddhartha, the book, is about
Speech On Boys In The Boat
Hello, today we re going to be talking about the benefits of rowing. All throughout
Boys in the Boat, we see how the sport of rowing impacts both the lives of Joe
Rantz, and the people around him. Rowing builds character both inside the boat and
out. And we re going to tell you about three of the ways that it does this. Rowing
builds physical endurance, builds mental endurance, and builds teamwork.
Boys in the Boat makes it pretty clear that rowing is overall a physical sport. Take a
look at this picture of the Washington rowing team. Looks pretty peaceful right?
Well, it s actually an amazing workout. At the beginning of Chapter 3, we get an
overview of how rowing builds a great body. Daniel Brown, the author of Boys in
the Boat, explains how many muscle groups, both big and small muscles, are used.
Just think about the boys on the rowing team. They were all muscular and tough,
just like Joe. LIke Joe, they had probably grown up with hard manual labor chores
and jobs, and this same physical strength carried over to rowing .Rowing is an
amazing workout; that s why so many gyms have rowing machines. You know a
sport has to be good for your muscles when gyms have a fake version of the sport.
With this kind of workout, you will become a stronger, fitter, happier version of
yourself.
Not only will rowing build physical endurance, it will also build mental endurance.
The physical aspect of rowing is very important, but the great physical challenge of
rowing requires that your mind is in the right place. Take Joe, for instance. He had,
by today s standards, a difficult life. He was abandoned by his parents when he
was only 10, and he had to live alone. When he was a teenager, he survived in every
way he could, and he took on hard manual labor jobs in high school. This kind of
mental toughness definitely carried him over to college. He simply applied the
same grit, perseverance, and mental toughness that he had built up over so many
years before. Joe remembered those rowing days for the rest of his life. This quote
says it well:
To defeat an adversary who was your equal, maybe even your superior, it wasn t
necessarily enough just to give your all from start to finish. You had to master your
opponent mentally.

In the book Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, the character John the Savage is
brought from his homeland of Malpais to London. When he arrives he finds that this
world is very different from his own. Saddened and angered by the injustice of the
society, he attempts to isolate himself from the world. John the Savage s experience
of being exiled from Malpais was enriching in that it showed him the true nature of
the Other Place and alienating in that he was separated from his culture and not able
to integrate into the new one. This illuminates the meaning of the work in that it
shows the negative side of the utopian society. John the Savage s exile from his
homeland was enriching in that it showed him the true nature of the Other Place....

Don t you even understand what manhood and freedom are? (Huxley 212 213)
This quote shows how he became aware of the injustice of the system. His
discovery of the true nature of the Other Place was an enriching experience. It
allowed him to no longer wonder about what the outside world was like and to no
longer hold an idea in high regard that was not worthy of it. The truth is better than
the lie and in learning the truth, John was enriched by his experience of being cut
off from his homeland. John the Savage s exile from his homeland was alienating
in that it separated him from his culture and he was not able to integrate into the
new one. John the Savage grew up in a society with very different views from that
of the society in London. It was very difficult for him to not be around other people
who shared similar ideas with him. This is exemplified by the quote ... Listen,
Lenina; in Malpais people get married. Get what? The irritation had begun to creep
back into her voice. What was he talking about now? For always. They make a
promise to live together for always. What a horrible idea! Lenina was genuinely
shocked. (Huxley 191) He was unable to connect with anyone on a deep level
because of this intrinsic difference between them. Therefore, this experience was
alienating for him because he was set apart from the rest of the society. The
experience was so alienating that John the Savage removed himself from the society
around him. I shall go away
Ultrasound Images Of The Patients Suffering From...
Abstract This paper presents the approach to analyze the ultrasound images of the
patients suffering from Cholelithiasis. The occurrence of Cholelithiasis is the
commonest biliary disease to be reported in India. Our research is aimed to apply
the potential of image processing in diagnosing the presence of gall bladder stones.
In this paper we propose a technique, a combination of preprocessing morphological
techniques and Entropy calculation of the pixels representing gallstones in the gall
bladder.

INTRODUCTION
Gallstone diseases are one of the most common biliary diseases, demanding a great
progress in understanding the gallstones. The historical background of Cholelithiasis
helps the researchers for easy classification of Gallstones. According to Japanese,
there are two types of Gallstones are widely discussed: the Cholesterol stone, which is
further of three types, the Pure Cholesterol stone, the Combination stone and the
Mixed stone. Second is the Pigment stone, which is further classified as the Black
stone and the Calcium Bilirubinate stone. The division line between Cholesterol and
the pigment stones depends upon the proportion of Cholesterol. If the proportion of
cholesterol is equal to or more than 70% then the stone is a Cholesterol stone;
otherwise the stone is a pigment stone with calcium bilirubinate as its principal
constituent. The purpose of this
Persuasive Essay On Cosmetic Testing
These animal experiments are not only preformed in scientific labs but also in
hospitals and colleges. Although we may not think of animals as having the same
feelings and human, they do indeed share very similar traits. Animals feel a sense of
hopelessness, terror, pain, and torture much like humans. This makes it inhumane to
even consider using these animals as test subjects for our own benefits. These
animals have no say in what we do to them or even how they feel. This to me plays a
major role in why we use animals. These animals have no voice to tell that they are
hurting from these experiments. To make the condition of this practice worse, these
experiments are not only used to find medical solutions that can save human lives but
they are widely used in cosmetics testing (Food and Drug Administration 47). After
the animals have served their main purpose they are left senselessly to die. We cannot
overlook the factor that this process of using animals in experiments against their will
subjects them to a lot of stress which in hindsight could tamper with the results
making them less accurate and unreliable. As found on the Food and Drug
Administration, Non human creatures cannot contract the HIV virus yet it is
considered deadly in humans. A medication that appeared promising in treating
rhesus macaques in animals was also ineffective in humans. Animal experiments
should stop because alternatives have been widely discovered (Christopher 40). In
addition to this, scientists have developed a lot more in the campaign to terminate use
of animals in experiments (Hackmann 40). Plastic models and computers can
effectively substitute use of animals in experiments. In vitro examination: IC50
assesses how much chemicals can be to cells hence can replace LC50 examination
that oversees a chemical given to a number of animals to determine what amount is
able to kill more than half of the all population of the animals. Another method is the
FDA, which is a technique that provides credible information on how humans can be
widely affected by new drugs (Food and Drug Administration 77). Despite the many
negative effects of animal experiments mentioned above, the proponents of this
method argue that there have been very

Ontology: Ontology is abbreviated as FESC which means Formal, Explicit,
specification of shared conceptualization. [11].
Formal specifies that it should be machine understandable. Explicit defines the type of
constraints used in model. Shared defines that ontology is not for individual, it is for
group. Conceptualization means model of some phenomenon that identifies relevant
concept of that phenomenon.
Inference: It is defined as producing new data from existing one or to reach some

Is Golf A Sport
To begin with, a lot of people these days argue about if golf is a sport or not. If you
look up the word sport in dictionaries golf meets that definition. Golf also burns off
a lot of calories while playing the sport. If golf wasn t a sport than why should other
things be called a sport. Golf is part of the sports category because it requires muscles
and physical exertion, you compete against other players, and it has everything that
other sports have.
First of all, golf is a sport because it requires muscles use and physical exertion.
When you take a swing in golf you use at least 17 muscles through your body. the
average golfer will walk up to four miles in a single round of golf (Fitness Health

Society and the Media Build up of Celebrities to Tear

Much of today s society seems obsessed on what actors/actress, athletes, and music
artist are wearing, eating, who they are marrying, dating, where they are
vacationing, what affairs they are having or have had, and how they live their
everyday lives. What s so interesting about this obsession is as a society we build
them up only to tear them down. Media outlets are swift to report when celebrities
are in trouble; accomplishments are hardly reported unless they have passed away
or an awards show is being telecast. It s as if we want them to be perfect but once
they are associated with a scandal we begin to destroy their reputation, character, only

Some of us would say No , but the majority of us would leap on the prospect of
living the life of a celebrity. Who doesn t want the perks of vacationing all over the
world, having someone wait on you hand and foot, receiving freebies from designers
and all the other perks that come with being a celebrity? The question is do we want
the downfalls that come with fame? Can we handle vicious tabloid scrutiny,
fabrications, and assumptions? Being a celebrity has its perks, but at what cost?
Fame and money can be the root of all evil. Never the less, we are contributing to the
madness when we purchase tabloid magazines, watch entertainment shows that
follow celebrity activities and judge them for their actions.
How do we as a society play a part in the demise of an actor, athletes, and musical
artist? We alienate them when they are a part of any scandal or scandals,
companies drop them from their products, magazines, tabloids, and media outlets
discuss the scandal non stop, flooding us with the story non stop. Whoever is a
part of the scandal is often given meaningless interviews or book and movie deals.
Any and everything the celebrity has done in the past, as well as the party of the
alleged scandal is dredged up. This is often called skeletons in the closet . What
they don t want out is often exposed and even if it s not true or a matter of privacy,
we don t care, all we want is the juicy info.

Getting Up When You Re Feeling Down Summary
Problem When I get down, I sit around and mope. Then I feel guilty for doing just
that. It s a bad cycle; so how do you break it? Through activity. In the book Getting
Up When You re Feeling Down, Dr. Harriet Braiker suggested engaging in D.I.B. s
Depression Incompatible Behaviors. In other words, there are activities you can do
to help you get up when you are down, and they work because these active behaviors
are not compatible with depression. I published an article, Stop and Smell the Roses,
in which I suggested a similar technique. That is, you schedule a small activity that
will make you happy and commit yourself to doing it. Since reading about D.I.B s, I
decided to adjust my technique to incorporate her suggestions. The Technique... Show

Twelve Monkeys was directed by Terry Gilliam and released in 1995. Gilliam has
written and directed many films including Jabberwocky and the hit Fear and

Benicio Del Toro and Tobey Maguire. Fear and Loathing follows a journalist and his
lawyer as they embark on a drug fuelled search for the American dream .

What connection does the couple have to the young boy? Will the young boy be the
protagonist of the film or is his appearance irrelevant? Gilliam incorporates this
purposeful mystery to give us our first taste of the thriller element to the film.
During the final shot of the boy s face we begin to hear a woman calling out names,
this voice does not seem to belong in the current scene, and it doesn t. The camera
cuts to the face of a rugged, sleeping man. We have changed time and place suddenly
which immediately serves to confuse the audience. Cole, James is the next name that
the female voice shouts and the man awakes suddenly. He appears to be lying in
some kind of metal cage on a hammock style bed. Turning to the cage next to him, his
friend tells him that they were naming volunteers and called your name . This
sentence confirms that the first man we saw is James Cole. He sighs, rolls his eyes
and heaves himself out of his bed. The friends continue to talk. Cole speaks of how
none of the volunteers ever come back. The camera shows us a high angle shot of
hundreds of other cages like Cole s. One man is being lifted out of his cage by a
large hook and we guess that he is one of the volunteers . The place is dark and we
suspect it is underground, as the only light in the place is artificial. It is clear that
this world is not the world that

Context for Usage: The grade levels this text is designed to prepare educators for
teaching is evidenced first in its overall discussion of properly preparing students to
be able to write on demand for state assessment tests. Given that such tests do not
regularly take place until students are out of elementary education it is apparent that
this text is directed towards teachers working with a higher age bracket. This is
also further revealed in instances where teachers are directed to help students think
backwards, a skill that is not highly promoted in elementary education as most
children at this age level have not yet developed the capacity to think backwards.
The process described for enabling students to analyze prompts is also one that
would be dominantly used beyond the beginning years of education. Considering
each of these factors, the aim of this text is to be utilized by teachers working with a
middle school to high school age bracket.
Learning Objectives: Learning objectives promoted in the college level class on
teaching writing that this text was handed out in, strongly emphasize the importance
of group work, as revealed in the writing theory handout and the scholarly overview

Ghandi and His Fight Agains Discrimination in South
Africa...
Gandhi is considered by many around the world as the father of the Indian
independence movement. Gandhi spent over 20 years in South Africa working to
fight discrimination. It was in South Africa that he developed his concept of
Satyagraha, a non violent way of protesting against discrimination. The first time
Gandhi used Satyagraha was in South Africabeginning in 1907 when he organized
opposition to the Black Act. In 1907, the Black Act was passed, requiring all Indians
to keep registration documents on them at all times. Gandhi s first hand experiences
in dealing with discrimination began in South Africa. In Chapter VII Some

the colour prejudice. Gandhi also faced the same discrimination on a coach from
Johannesburg to Charlestown, and learned the racial condescension of the racial

term was used in America towards the Chinese workers that built the railroad during
the 19th and early 20th century and toward the Indians indentured laborers. On the

Finding Emergency Housing After A Fight Essay
From trying to find a place to get her mother in law s hair permed to having to find
emergency housing after a fight erupted between two seniors (sisters, no less) over
dentures to spending Christmas in the emergency room instead of the living room,
Gail s firsthand experience shows how sticky it can get when you are in charge of
your parents.
The book is divided into 60 vignettes followed by questions, including Surviving the
Annual Family Reunion, To Tube or Not to Tube, That Is the Question, and When I
Will Means I Won t.
Gail, who also speaks and holds workshops on aging, says the questions get people
thinking about their own situations.
One problem is most people think they are going to just up and die. That s like 10
percent of people now, she says. This means that most of us will end up needing
care provided by others at some point, like it or not. It s the best of all worlds when
you are willing to broach it before the crisis, Gail says. What it brings up if you wait
is more fear. Death is undergirding everything to talk about.
Like Amy, Gail says a meeting is best. The first thing is to bring family together
after a letter or a phone call to tell them it s time to talk about end of life issues. She
also suggests using a facilitator, like a geriatric care manager, nurse or social worker
who will cover the basics because, sometimes, parents will refuse to talk.

Cuban Racial Inequality
Before the start of the Cuban Revolution, inequalities had over taken Cuban
Society and had started to spur on many to act. The equality the government
claimed to spread was all a façade; the system benefited those in power and the
United States while the popular class was so poor they struggled to make ends
meet. People created groups to combat the obvious tyranny, such as El Partido
Independiente de Color which formed together to stop the racism. Others spoke
out in poetry or publications or used their position in court to express the pain and
need for a revolution. These factors were a key part of why so many fought for
change, so they could right the wrongs that had been done to them for so long. The
façade of equality that the government put forth affected those of race and those
of the popular, poorer class. The P.I.C. was founded to fight back against the racial
injustice that was being set forth by the government at the time; with their motto
being an egalitarian, sovereign, and independent republic without racial divisions
and social antagonisms. (PIC, 1). They wanted to lose the need for a division
between the races and make sure there was representation for all Cubans. The
popular class also suffered together at the hands of the elites, You imprison the poor
wretch who steals because he is hungry; but none of the millions who steal millions
from the government has ever spent a night in jail, Castro said. (Castro, 6). The poor
are condemned for trying to
Socrates s Argument On The Trial
After the trial, Socrates was found guilty of his allegations and sentence to death.
While waiting for his upcoming execution, he received a visit of his old faithful
friend named Crito. Actually, Socrates friend had made an arrangement with other
friends to help him escape from prison. Contrary to Crito s suggestion, Socrates
vetoed his friend proposal. Socrates on the other hand, provided several good and
convincing reasons of not escaping prison by using law as a principal guide.
After the trial, Socrates was sentenced to death for impiety against the gods and
corrupted the Athens youth. In contrast to the jury sentence, Socrates and his friends
still believed on his innocent and though that the verdict was unjust. According to
the Atheniens tradition, no states were allowed to execute prisoners on the absence
of the Galley ship. Or is it that, Socrates trial s happened when the galley ship was

Realism In The Alchemist
Are Dreams Magical or Realistic?
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you
the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the
world. , Harriet Tubman once said. In The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, dreams are
glorified and encouraged to follow, they are referred to as a personal legend and
everything in the universe has one. Personal legends are indeed rewarding, but can
be strenuous to pursue. Coelho outlines this by detailing several characters, some of
which who had followed their personal legends and others who had failed to do so.

These dreams are referred to as personal legends and everyone has one, regardless
if they choose to pursue it or not. The theme of personal legends is evident in our
lives, however societal standards cause us to believe our dreams are unrealistic or
too far fetched. World renowned physicist, Albert Einstein is a great example of
why you should follow your personal legend . Although Einstein is accredited to be
one of the smartest men that ever lived, he didn t learn to speak until the age of
four. Consequently, his parents and teachers thought he was mentally impaired. At
the age of five, he developed an apparent affinity for nature and the laws of the
universe. Already we can see him discovering his personal legend . In seventh
grade, his teacher told him he would never amount to much in his life. (StoryPick).
However, none of this discouraged him and he went on to become a luminary in
nuclear physics. All of the trials and tribulations he went through were part of the
overarching journey that he had to traverse to accomplish his personal legend , his
destiny. As the alchemist told Santiago, There is only one thing that makes a dream
impossible to achieve: the fear of failure. (Coelho 146). This is a valuable and
realistic lesson that applies to everyone trying to achieve their dreams. Furthermore,

Taking a Look at Nuclear Energy
What comes to your mind when you think of nuclear energy? Most people think of
nuclear bombs. However, nuclear energy can be used for so much more than bombs.
In fact, if nuclear power did not exist, we would not exist! This is because the sun
generates it energy from nuclear reactions of hydrogen nuclei into helium. Also,
nuclear powercould be the next solution for cheap energy for people and the
radiation it gives off could even rid someone of cancer.
What is nuclear power? (Sec. 1.1)
To state it directly, nuclear power is the use of nuclear processes to create heat and
energy. This energy that comes from exothermic nuclear processes can be converted
into radiation or power. There are two ways to produce nuclear power by fission or
fusion. Fission is splitting atoms of a radioactive element such as a uranium isotope.
The radioactive elements used for fission can be found in the actinide section of
the periodic table (Figure 1 below ↓). Fusion is the process of joining isotopes of
hydrogen (which is exactly what the sun does). How is nuclear power created? (Sec.
1.2)
Fission (Sec. 1.2.1) The energy that is used for heat or electricity comes from a
nuclear power plant. In a nutshell, the energy comes from the reaction of uranium
atoms splitting and giving off energy. The uranium atom is spilt in half by protons.
To cool down this reaction, CO2 or water is pumped throughout the reactor. The
cooling down makes steam, and this steam drives a generator that creates

Relationship Between Safavid And Mughal Dynasties
The Safavid and Mughal dynasties have had strong interrelations over their ruling
periods. The Safavid dynasty ruled Persia in the seventh century A.D. from 1501
until 1722. Isfahan became the capital in 1590 and was known for its art and
architecture. In 1526, Babur, a prince descended from Timur and Genghis Khan
founded the dynasty of the Mughals in India. He was well known for his interest in
art and architecture, especially in horticulture and the Timurid gardens in Samarkand
and Herat. He was also familiar with Persian culture and literature which was evident
in his memoirs, the Babur Nama. The relations between the Safavids and the Mughals

Both empires gardens were attributed to be paradise gardens linking them to Eden in
the Quran. Aesthetically, Safavid palace gardens shape and iconography correlated
directly with the metaphysical and religious interpretation of an Islamic garden. The
figure of the chahar bagh has been interpreted to denote the four quarters or directions
of the universe. The orthogonal waterways have been seen to symbolize the four
rivers of Eden; the water as the Christian and Muslim symbol of moral and sacred
purification . Many other interpretations come alongside this, but philosophical
readings of the Safavids and their history yield that their intents were not all holly but
their political agenda and legitimacy drove their paradise garden building. In
comparison, Mughals built tombs within gardens to link to notions of earth and
paradise. Babur began this tradition; in which he had instructed his tomb in a garden
with the grave open to the sky. The construction of mausoleums and funerary
architecture continued on with the later Mughals such as Humayun and Shah Jahan.

Analysis Of David Mccullough s 1776 Essay
These are the times that try men s souls states Paine reflecting on a very important
year in American history. Throughout David McCullough s 1776, both British and
American militaries faced many hardships that concur with Paine s very idea that
the year 1776 was truly a difficult one. This suffering was not limited to anyone
person in either side of the war, it was however very hard on three specific generals,
Washington and Knox of the American military and Howe of the British military.
General George Washingtonfaced many hardships during the Revolutionary war.
On July 3, General George Washington of Virginia had taken command of the
American rabble . (McCullough 7) During Washington s time as General he was
constantly faced with the shortage of soldiers. Washington pleaded with Congress
and the provincial governments to send more men with all possible speed. And
new recruits did continue to arrive, though only in dribs and drabs. (66) The
constant need for men was a serious problem throughout the entire war, this need
for new recruits helped cause a supply shortage. ...the supply of arms was depleted
to the point where there were not enough for the new recruits. We have not at this
time 100 guns in the stores of that have been taken in the prize ship [the captured
British supply ship Nancy]. (79) As well as guns being in short supply, the Colonial
Army also lacked gunpowder. Very little by gunpowder was produced in the colonies.

The Muslim Brotherhood And Islamic Action Front
At the same time, for the purpose of using the democratic process as a strategy to
implement Shari a law, the Muslim Brotherhood named its political arm as the
Islamic Action Front. Both the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Action
Front share a similar base of support and membership. Separation between the two
was necessary to allow the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhoodto maintain its control
over social services and spreading dawa a, while on the other hand provide the
Islamic Action Front with the platform to establish a political agenda. Upon
submitting the application to the Minister of the Interior, that included the
Memorandums of Association, and a list of the founding member names that fulfill
the conditions specified by article Five of the Political Parties Law, in December
1992, the Islamic Action Front was officially licensed as a political party. In total,
the founding members of the Islamic Action Front consisted of three hundred forty
two older, established males and only eleven women. Demographics show a trend of
disproportionality between the founding membership and the overall population of
Jordan. At the time the Islamic Action Front movement was established, half the
population of Jordan was under the age of sixteen. But, out of the three hundred
fifty three founders, 33 percent were professionals, 51 percent were civil servants,
and 10 percent were businessmen. Of these same founders, 56 percent were over 41
years old. Due to lack of
Spike Lee Jungle Fever Analysis
Spike Lee and Spike Jonze: producers, writers, and directors that happen to share the
same name. Other than that, what makes the two Spikes an instructive comparison is
the very vast differences between their film styles and thematic concerns.
Spike Lee, immediately recognize for his stylistic credits and dolly shots, more
famously known for his controversial topics and stereotypes that he addresses in his
films. Spike Lee pushes for the integration in the black community and urges toward
unity. His films are a reflection of American society in two parts: separation
integration.
Jungle Fever/ Film synopsis
Flipper, a married black lawyer, gets kicked out of the house by his wife when
news of his affair with his secretary Angie was leaked by an acquaintance. Flipper
decides to court his mistress, only to be greeted with disapproval from a society, not
ready to accept their interracial relationship.
Spike Lee is known for his examination of American attitude about race and culture.
Jungle Fever takes a look at the concept of interracial relationships. He does this by
placing more emphasis on the reactions to this affair more the affair itself. He even
goes far enough to make the film forget about Flip and Angie through the detours of
scenes about Angie s boyfriend and his homies openly expressing racist attitudes,
while at the same time lusting after a black woman. Throughout the film, it goes back
and forth, back and forth, around these kind of scenes. Jungle Fever

The case study presented to us is the quality within The Ritz Carlton, which many

more valuable than any other tangible asset. The Ritz Carlton realized how
important this was, therefore, a team was assembled to research many of their day

The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Markets
The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Markets Over the last five years the
air transport markets were marked by three main crucial events; the economic
recession, the rise in fuel prices and terrorism. All these factors had an enormous
effect on the passenger market, which included business (network carriers, business
focused carriers, fractional ownership and private charters), the leisure industry
(network carriers, scheduled carriers and charter carriers) and the cargo market,
which is divided in scheduled combination carriers (passenger cargo and all cargo
carrying aircraft) and all cargo (integrators, airport to airport and charter).
Recessions tended to hit the industry every 6 9 years and last for 2 3 years at a time....

In the business market it is clear to see that this market aims at providing a
premium service which include luxuries, for example the use of airport lounges
and bigger seats on the aircraft and people are willing to pay extra money for these
luxuries. It is possible to assume that in times of recession and rising fuel costs
that pricier seats, such as the seats in business and first class, would be less popular
and harder to sell but that does not seem to be the case. IATA estimated that
average ticket costs for business class flights have risen 8 percent in the first half
of 2010. Business travellers make up 8 percent of overall passenger numbers but
contribute 27 percent of ticket revenue, IATA said in its latest snapshot of the
airline business. Premium travel has risen almost twice as far in percentage terms
from its 2009 low as economy travel, but, such was the depth of the fall of the
premium segment, current levels are still 10% below pre recession peaks, whereas
economy travel is now 5% above its pre recession peak. The cargo market is expected
to grow at a CAGR of 8.2% over the forecast period. Excluding the impact of the
rapid post recession rebound in 2010, for the 2011 2014 period, the consensus view
for air freight is that it will stabilize at 5% CAGR. This is slightly below the forecast
growth in world trade (6%) suggesting a still conservative
Exploring Morality and Faith in Brian Moore s Black Robe
Exploring Morality and Faith in Brian Moore s Black Robe
Included within the anthology The Penguin Book of Irish Fiction,1[1] are the works
of great Irish authors written from around three hundred years ago, until as recently
as the last decade. Since one might expect to find in an anthology such as this only
expressions and interpretations of Irish or European places, events or peoples, some
included material could be quite surprising in its contrasting content. One such
inclusion comes from the novel Black Robe,2[2] by Irish born author Brian Moore.
Leaving Ireland as a young man afforded Moore a chance to see a great deal of the
world and in reflection afforded him a great diversity of setting and theme in his
writings. And ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chimona s wife is killed and the rest are captured. Laforgue, seeing this all, knows

writes of the Father s next thought, But what is my life in the balance, if, by going
forward now, I can confess Daniel, who is in a state of mortal sin, and, God
willing, baptize the others before their last end? (p. 154). This statement, along
with Laforgue s decision to selflessly follow the others into almost certain death,
reveals an idea essential to the understanding of Laforgue and of the novel itself.
He is a man on a mission, a mission to save souls. At this time he knows he will not

Who Is A Romantic Hero
My Kinsman, Major Molineux by Hawthorne is a tale of a young country bred
man, who goes by the name of Robin. Robin arrives in Boston by the ferry and he
commences seeking for his kinsman. Robin conjectured that his kinsman was a man
of authority, yet whenever he asked if someone knew where his kinsman lived all
they would do is laugh. The protagonist eventually finds his kinsman, but Major
Molineux is tarred and feathered. The young man realizes his kinsman is not as well
respected as he had speculated. His assumption is his flaw, which shows how he is a
Romantic hero. Robin is a Romantic heroowing to the fact that he is young, innocent,
has a connection to nature, has a distrust of urban settings, has a distrust of women,

This quote shows his naive and innocent nature due to the fact he did not know
what type of place he was at. His innocence is shown by this situation due to the
fact he did not realize this setting is a brothel and that the lady is a mistress. The
trait of innocence can lead to the distrust of women, which is another trait of a
Romantic hero. The young man of this tale shows distrust of women through his
actions of talking to the mistress in this tale. The example for this is, Now, truly, I
am in luck, replied Robin, cunningly, and so indeed is my kinsman, the Major, in
having so pretty a housekeeper. But I prithee trouble him to step to the door; I will
deliver him a message from his friends in the country, and then go back to my
lodgings at the inn (6). This quote suggest how he treats the women due to his distrust
of her. Romantic heroes often have a distrust of women, because women represent
civilization and the domestic sphere. Romantic heroes often distrust women because
women represent civilization, and this represents cities versus the country. The
distrust of women can lead to the distrust of urban settings. Romantic heroes
The Importance Of China s Music Industry
Due to the sharp growth of economic and the huge scale of music market in China,
the importance of China s music industry catches the attention. Although the China s
music industry still cannot shake off some issues such as governmental control,
political influence, copyright and so on (Montgomery 2010), the innovation of
information technology bring an enormous change to this industry. Indeed, from
2000, this dramatically change attracted more international music companies to enter
China s music market. It is complicated to study on an underdevelopment music
industryin China.
Cookson (2014) got an opportunity to interview Max Hole who is the leader of
international business at Universal Music. Max assures that the existing music
business model in China is not completely broken, but it is fairly broken. The reason
why China s music industry is exciting at this moment is that they may get a chance
to skip it and go directly to a streaming model. Does China s music industry can
survive in the era of streaming? This literature review will focus on the Mainland
China, and discover this question through analyzing previous studies.
2.The Brief History of China s music industry
Before studying in the history of China s music industry, it is necessary to understand
that China s music industry is slightly different from UK s, USA or Europe.
Gathering politics, media and information technology is the main characteristic of
music industry in China (Lin, 2012a). During the Great
Heinz Spicy Ketchup
Heinz, the most recognizable condiment brand in the world is back at it again, and
this time they are spicing it up. This famous company wishes to tempt all consumers
into wanting a ketchup that not only moistures what ever food it is placed on, but
also spices it up and adds extra flavors to all foods. In order to sell the product, they
adopt a humorous tone to make the consumer remember the product, crave the
product, and the consumer will then logically make the choice of Heinz to satisfy
their spicy tomato ketchup needs. Heinz supports that their spicy ketchup should be
bought by first reminding the public of the company s credibility, then humoring
them, and finally using simple logic to prove that their ketchup is spicy. The famous
company does need to try to hard to establish their credibility. They simply need to
remind us how long they have been offering savory tomato sauce, and the consumer
knows, IT HAS TO BE HEINZ. According to a survey conducted in 2014, the most
used ketchup brand in the United States by approximately 28.51%. (Statista) The

ketchup, and the image appeals to the consumers ethics. The advertisement then
continues to entice the consumers by humoring them, literally. This notice implies

But all that is missing was the spicy tomato sauce. The digital image appeals to the
logical side of the consumers, the ones who want to moisturize their bread, and
chicken tenders, and whatnot. The ad is selling ketchup which will add extra flavor
to anything it is one. The logical people would see that fiery chili ketchup would not
only the famous tomato taste that most ketchups add, but also make it spicy,
increasing the taste of whatever the ketchup is

The Internet And Social Network Sites
Abstract
It is a common notion that we, as a society, have become polarized and that the
social media is to blame for it. Some scholars argue that the internet provides
numerous sources of information thus enhancing our understanding of issues and
tempering our views. We, as humans, also engage in behaviors such as homophily
and biased assimilation which have been found to encourage polarizing behavior.
This paper tries to explore if polarization is a consequence of informed deliberation
or just a result of group dynamics.

Introduction
The advent of the internet and social network sites (SNS) as a platform for debate
and deliberation means that partisans can now discuss issues online be it politics,
religion or topics such as gun control, abortion and same sex marriage. A search in
today s media will reveal a gamut of articles about how we, as a society, are more
polarized than ever and that Social Media is solely responsible for it (E.g. Roepe,
2016). Polarization in this context refers to the phenomenon where members of a
deliberating group predictably move toward a more extreme point in the direction
indicated by the members pre deliberation tendencies (Sunstein, 2002). Thus we can
think of polarization as an outcome of the deliberation process of two opposing
factions expressed as a property of the state of being of those factions.

Leonardo Da Vinci Research Paper
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter, sculptor, inventor, engineer, anatomist,
botanist, writer, and architect in the 15th and 16th centuries. Leonardo da Vinci
was born in the village of Vinci, Italy, 25 miles west from the city of Florence on
April 15th, 1452. He was the son of Ser Piero and a peasant girl named Caterina. A
couple months after Leonardo s birth, his father took custody of him and began to
raise him alone, while his mother had remarried. This left Leonardo with no full
siblings, but 17 half sisters and brothers (Museum of Science).
Growing up with his father, Leonardo was shown artwork and paintings (Museum of
Science). At the age of 15, Leonardo was employed to Andrea del Verrocchio s

Leonardo s earliest known painting was a collaboration with Verrocchio. Leonardo s
art had shown originality and differences from other artists. It was skilled, slightly
less than Verrocchio s work.
In 1478, Leonardo set up his own studio in Florence. 3 years later, he received a
church commission for an altarpiece, his painting, the Adoration of the Magi. In this
piece, Leonardo developed a different approach. This painting conveyed a strong
sense of continuing movement and his sense of countervailing order. Leonardo s
pieces of work had always shown either some of his interests, or strengths as a
person. Leonardo went to Milan in 1482, presenting himself as skilled in many
areas to the Duke of Milan. His work on early inventions showed his true strength in
military engineering, and his profound interests in the laws of motion and
propulsion, as well as the workings of living things were clearly noticed by the
Duke, Ludovico Sforza. He was then hired to be an engineer (particularly military),
and an artist. He served as a hydraulic engineer and consulted by workmen in fields of
architecture, fortifications, and

responsibilities toward their clients and the agency they work for. A social worker
must be aware of services that their agency provides and what they do not. They
then must be aware of other agencies or programs they can connect their clients to if
they need extra services. Finally a social worker must know their client to be able to
help them to their fullest extent.

  • 3. Eloi Vs Morlocks The Time machine by H.G Wells imagines what it might be like to travel into the future. Wells presents two creatures in the text that has evolved during the time. These creatures are the Eloi and the Morlocks. Even though the Eloi and the Morlocks both have human traits, the text suggests that the Eloiare more human than the Morlocks because of their body form and thinking. Wells proposes the Eloi are the upper class society and that the Morlocks are weird looking creatures. The time traveler has arrived in the future where he has lost his time machine. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The body form of an Eloi and their lifestyle is viewed very differently compared to the Morlocks. The Eloi are little people, they are beautiful and fragile. Wells suggests that the Eloi have more human traits than the Morlocks. He goes on to explain the living conditions of an Eloi. They have several big palaces, great dining halls and sleeping apartments (Wells 51). Similar to how humans live, this passage suggests that although the place is falling apart, it is still a home to the Eloi. The text gives us the sense that the Eloi is living in a utopian society where their existence is similar to human traits. Humans do live in apartments, eat at the dining places and have big cities. The comparison between the Morlocks form and lifestyle is that the Morlocks do not wear clothing, which is very noticeable in human society, also the text suggest that the Morlocks looks like apes. The text also suggests that the Morlocks are savages in which they serve the Eloi, but in return, they eat them. The text even goes on to suggest that the Morlocks are like little monster who are attracted to darkness instead of light. Wells provides us with a better description the Morlocks suggesting they are dull white, and had strange large greyish red eyes; also that there was flayen hair on its head and down its back

In the present case, Roderick and Rommel Daoang, the grandchildren of Antero Agonoy and Amanda Ramos Agonoy, cannot assail the adoption of Quirino Bonilla and Wilson Marcos by the Agonoys. Symbols In Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train Symbols in Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train Throughout all of Christina Baker Kline s Orphan Train Symbols are used to show a character s true personality and to help get the reader emotionally invested in a character as well as revealing more about the characters past. Four examples of symbols in the novel are Vivian s Claddagh, Molly s turtle tattoo and necklace as well as Vivian s attic. A good example of how symbols are used in the novel is Vivian s Claddagh from her grandmother. The Claddagh consists of a heart, a crown and a pair of hands. The heart represents love, the crown represents loyalty and the hands represent friendship. Vivian only truly begins to show these traits when she moves in with the Nielsen s and she meets with Dutchy once again. She only shows two of the three traits to the Nielsen s, loyalty and friendship which is shown when she says, What I feel for the Nielsens gratitude, respect, appreciation isn t the same as a child s love for her parents (Baker Kline 183). She says that she cannot see the Nielsen s as her true parents and she probably never will but she does treat them like family and helps make sure that their store continues to prosper. Even after the Nielsen s have grown old and aren t able to run the store as well as they used to Vivian steps in and helps pick up the slack. She only begins to show true love when she meets with Dutchy again. They eventually get married and Vivian shows that she is truly in love with Dutchy when she
  • 9. Comparison Of Cyrano De Bergerac And Roxanne Well known books or plays are often made into movies. They are often modernized and made into satirical comedies. This is the case with the play Cyrano De Bergerac by Edmond Rostand and Roxanne directed by Fred Schepisi. In Cyrano de Bergerac the main character, Cyrano, is in love with a beautiful woman named Roxane. Cyrano is a skilled fighter and poet but Roxane is in love with Christian who is a young cadet. Cyrano helps Christian impress Roxane and Roxane ends up falling deeply in love with Christian due to Cyrano. This leads to Roxane falling in love with Cyrano instead of Christian. In the film Roxanne, the classic story is modernized and set in a small town. Both of the works have a main theme of what is on the inside matters more than... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The director of Roxanne does a very good job of keeping the relationships between the characters true to the original play. For example, the relationship between the Roxane and Cyrano roles in both works. In Cyrano de Bergerac, Cyrano and Roxane have a good friendship which is apparent because Roxane goes to Cyrano to tell him about her love for Christian. In Roxanne, Roxanne goes to C.D for help with getting Chris to like her. This is an obvious similarity between the two characters in both productions. Another similarity is the relationship between Christian and Cyrano. In Cyrano de Bergerac, Christian and Cyrano meet when Christian begins to insult Cyrano s nose. This leads to Cyrano realizing who Christian is and eventually accepting him. Their relationship develops when Cyrano reveals Roxane s feelings for him. Christian feels very dim witted when it comes to love so he calls on Cyrano for help. Similarly in Roxanne, Chris and C. D meet when Chris insults C. D s nose. The two eventually become friends and Chris asks Charlie for help to have intercourse with Roxanne. These two instances show how similar the relationships are in translation from the play to the movie

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, only thirty eight percent of Americans profess to be avid recyclers. This is an alarming statistic given that the average American generates 4.4 pounds of trash a day. As a nation this country produces approximately 250 million tons of trash every year. Recycling is beneficial for the environment in many ways for example, it reduces the Pollution caused by landfill, limits wildlife habitat destruction, and conserves energy which saves natural resources. Landfills produce greenhouse gasses and release toxic chemicals, therefore less trash in the landfill means less of these harmful substance are released. Also, recycling decreases the need for raw materials, which means less habitat destruction occurs and there is a reduction in global warming. Creating new products from raw materials uses much more energy than recycling an old product into something new does. Nationally, approximately thirty eight percent of Americans recycle, which saves the country 1.5 quads of energy per year. Because one quad of energy equates to one quadrillion or thousand trillion of bauxite that means a total savings of 1,5 % in national yearly energy usage occurs. In 2010 for example, 85 million tons of solid waste was recycled or composted which saved more than 1.3 quadrillion bauxite s worth of energy, which is equal to 229 million barrels of oil.

Considering that the Anglo Saxons contributed not only their language, but also the influence of their religious beliefs and the Latin used in the church, it can be concluded that they had a major influence on the formation of the English
  • 13. The Negative Effects Of Oxidative Stress Kozakowska et al., (2015) findings show that it is possible for exercises to support special adaptations as regards to the group and vigor of the physical activity engaged. Based on their findings, they hypothesize that the adaptations occur to protect the muscles from disproportionate ROS generation, hence, enhancing the motor activities (Kozakowska et al., 2015). Their findings show that light exercises and warm up regimens reduced erythrocyte MDA and raised erythrocyte SOD performance in patients with MD who engaged in regular light workouts. This study is corroborated by the study done by Al Naama et al., (2015) whose findings were that low intensity exercises was adequate to improve MDA levels and carbonyl protein which is... Some of the changes occur through DNA mutation, swelling of the cell plasma membrane, and the impairment of the mRNA (Rowland Pedley, 2010). Research in apoptosis has divulged new findings suggesting that the process irrepressible once it begins making it one of the most highly controlled process of the cell functioning (GieГџing, 2005). Another study on the role of apoptotic activity divulges that this activity may be started by one of two pathways, namely the intrinsic and extrinsic pathway (Elmore, 2007). When MD patients engage in high intensity exercises cause a decrease in the production of ROS that makes cells in the intrinsic pathway to self engage and kill themselves as they are sensitive to the stress on the cells. The death that occurs in the cells in the extrinsic pathway is thought to be due to the activation of the caspases that cause the death of cells and enzymes that debase protein functions. In the case of extrinsic pathway cell death, it assumed that both pathways prompt the death of cells (Elmore, 2007). A research conducted by Rahimov and Kunkel (2013) explored the role of high intensity exercise on the myofiber membrane in MD. Their study found adverse effects in terms of the weakening of the myofiber membrane. The possible cause for this as they
  • 14. Correlation Between Gram Positive And Gram Negative... Purpose: To understand the difference between Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. We also used this lab to examine our mixed culture, which had been Gram stained, under the microscope. Theory and background The bacterial cell wall is the outer layer of the cell that aids in structural support and protection from the outside environment. Bacteria can be identified by the structure of their cell wall and classified into two groups known to have different cell wall types. Two of these types are referred to as the Gram positive and Gram negative cell wall. Gram positive bacteria, or bacteria with Gram positive cell walls, are very thick due to the large amounts of peptidoglycan it contains. Peptidoglycan makes up most of the cell wall and is made up of long chains of glycan that are joined together by short peptide fragments (Chess and Talaro,2015). The many layers of peptidoglycan the cell wall contains are what allow it to provide a rigid structure and solid support for the cell. In fact, the many layers of peptidoglycan in the cell wall can range anywhere from 50 80 nanometers thick (Todar, 2012). Although the peptidoglycan takes up the bulk of the cell wall in Gram positive bacteria, there are also two other components that play an important role for the cell wall that are either nearby or attached directly to the peptidoglycan. Attached to the cell membrane, which lies directly below the cell wall, is a molecule known as lipoteichoic acid. The second

The Antamina mine, was the underlying asset of this bidding process which included 40 bidders; though that number was steadily dwindling, and by June of 1996 was down to only a handful serious contenders. Within the copper mining industry, there were three dominant players, RTZ CRA, Noranda, and a joint venture of Inmet Mining and Rio Algom. These three were believed to be the primary bidders. All three had ancillary mineral mining practices aside from copper, as well as other areas of business. RTZ CRA was the largest of these three, and was believed to be the best positioned to prevail on the bidding. The other bidders were smaller in capital but had the same level of mining experience. The joint venture of Rio Algom and Inmet had only $1.5 billion combined market capitalization, but Inmet had a healthier capital structure and less financial risk which created a lower cost of capital. The bidding rules reduced the sensitivity of capital and created comparative advantages for smaller players. For RTZ CRA to execute on their bid and acquire Antamina at a strategically economic price, they would have to have made the decision of whether this property would provide long term economic and strategic value. Since their footprint was global, they would be unable to introduce certain synergies based on asset proximity of their other properties. Antamina would most likely have to be acquired and operated as a stand alone project. Internal
  • 17. Siddhartha, By Hermann Hesse Siddhartha Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse was a very interesting book to read. I found it to be a very interesting way for people, like myself, who are not Hindus, and who do not live in India to learn about the Indian and Hindu culture and religion without being there physically to experience it. This book is about a boy, Siddhartha, who is probably somewhere in his teenage years. He lives with his father, who is a Brahmin, they live together in ancient India. As in many cases, there is an expectation that Siddhartha is going to follow in his father s footsteps. If this were to take place then Siddhartha would become a Brahmin and do the same types of things in his life that his father has done in his. I particularly liked this book because I felt as though it was something that many people can relate to. While a lot of people, at least not in the United States, do not have the expectation of becoming a Brahmin, there are a lot of children and young adults who are expected to follow what their parents have done in their life, or what if not following their exact path then they are expected to follow the path that their parents have chosen for them. Going back to the book, Siddhartha continues to struggle after he and his friend hang out together, and everything is perfect, but then, all of a sudden he doesn t feel anything, he isn t happy, which concerned him because it was something that would normally make him and other people very happy. Siddhartha, the book, is about
  • 18. Speech On Boys In The Boat Hello, today we re going to be talking about the benefits of rowing. All throughout Boys in the Boat, we see how the sport of rowing impacts both the lives of Joe Rantz, and the people around him. Rowing builds character both inside the boat and out. And we re going to tell you about three of the ways that it does this. Rowing builds physical endurance, builds mental endurance, and builds teamwork. Boys in the Boat makes it pretty clear that rowing is overall a physical sport. Take a look at this picture of the Washington rowing team. Looks pretty peaceful right? Well, it s actually an amazing workout. At the beginning of Chapter 3, we get an overview of how rowing builds a great body. Daniel Brown, the author of Boys in the Boat, explains how many muscle groups, both big and small muscles, are used. Just think about the boys on the rowing team. They were all muscular and tough, just like Joe. LIke Joe, they had probably grown up with hard manual labor chores and jobs, and this same physical strength carried over to rowing .Rowing is an amazing workout; that s why so many gyms have rowing machines. You know a sport has to be good for your muscles when gyms have a fake version of the sport. With this kind of workout, you will become a stronger, fitter, happier version of yourself. Not only will rowing build physical endurance, it will also build mental endurance. The physical aspect of rowing is very important, but the great physical challenge of rowing requires that your mind is in the right place. Take Joe, for instance. He had, by today s standards, a difficult life. He was abandoned by his parents when he was only 10, and he had to live alone. When he was a teenager, he survived in every way he could, and he took on hard manual labor jobs in high school. This kind of mental toughness definitely carried him over to college. He simply applied the same grit, perseverance, and mental toughness that he had built up over so many years before. Joe remembered those rowing days for the rest of his life. This quote says it well: To defeat an adversary who was your equal, maybe even your superior, it wasn t necessarily enough just to give your all from start to finish. You had to master your opponent mentally.

When he arrives he finds that this world is very different from his own. Saddened and angered by the injustice of the society, he attempts to isolate himself from the world. John the Savage s experience of being exiled from Malpais was enriching in that it showed him the true nature of the Other Place and alienating in that he was separated from his culture and not able to integrate into the new one. Don t you even understand what manhood and freedom are? (Huxley 212 213) This quote shows how he became aware of the injustice of the system. His discovery of the true nature of the Other Place was an enriching experience. It allowed him to no longer wonder about what the outside world was like and to no longer hold an idea in high regard that was not worthy of it. The truth is better than the lie and in learning the truth, John was enriched by his experience of being cut off from his homeland. John the Savage s exile from his homeland was alienating in that it separated him from his culture and he was not able to integrate into the new one. John the Savage grew up in a society with very different views from that of the society in London. It was very difficult for him to not be around other people who shared similar ideas with him. This is exemplified by the quote ... Listen, Lenina; in Malpais people get married. Get what? The irritation had begun to creep back into her voice. What was he talking about now? For always. They make a promise to live together for always. What a horrible idea! Lenina was genuinely shocked. (Huxley 191) He was unable to connect with anyone on a deep level because of this intrinsic difference between them. Therefore, this experience was alienating for him because he was set apart from the rest of the society. The experience was so alienating that John the Savage removed himself from the society around him. I shall go away

The occurrence of Cholelithiasis is the commonest biliary disease to be reported in India. Our research is aimed to apply the potential of image processing in diagnosing the presence of gall bladder stones. In this paper we propose a technique, a combination of preprocessing morphological techniques and Entropy calculation of the pixels representing gallstones in the gall bladder. Keywords Cholelithiasis, entropy calculation, image processing, morphological techniques, preprocessing INTRODUCTION Gallstone diseases are one of the most common biliary diseases, demanding a great progress in understanding the gallstones. The historical background of Cholelithiasis helps the researchers for easy classification of Gallstones. According to Japanese, there are two types of Gallstones are widely discussed: the Cholesterol stone, which is further of three types, the Pure Cholesterol stone, the Combination stone and the Mixed stone. Second is the Pigment stone, which is further classified as the Black stone and the Calcium Bilirubinate stone. The division line between Cholesterol and the pigment stones depends upon the proportion of Cholesterol. If the proportion of cholesterol is equal to or more than 70% then the stone is a Cholesterol stone; otherwise the stone is a pigment stone with calcium bilirubinate as its principal constituent. • 22. Persuasive Essay On Cosmetic Testing These animal experiments are not only preformed in scientific labs but also in hospitals and colleges. Although we may not think of animals as having the same feelings and human, they do indeed share very similar traits. Animals feel a sense of hopelessness, terror, pain, and torture much like humans. This makes it inhumane to even consider using these animals as test subjects for our own benefits. These animals have no say in what we do to them or even how they feel. This to me plays a major role in why we use animals. These animals have no voice to tell that they are hurting from these experiments. To make the condition of this practice worse, these experiments are not only used to find medical solutions that can save human lives but they are widely used in cosmetics testing (Food and Drug Administration 47). After the animals have served their main purpose they are left senselessly to die. We cannot overlook the factor that this process of using animals in experiments against their will subjects them to a lot of stress which in hindsight could tamper with the results making them less accurate and unreliable. As found on the Food and Drug Administration, Non human creatures cannot contract the HIV virus yet it is considered deadly in humans. A medication that appeared promising in treating rhesus macaques in animals was also ineffective in humans. Animal experiments should stop because alternatives have been widely discovered (Christopher 40). In addition to this, scientists have developed a lot more in the campaign to terminate use of animals in experiments (Hackmann 40). Plastic models and computers can effectively substitute use of animals in experiments. In vitro examination: IC50 assesses how much chemicals can be to cells hence can replace LC50 examination that oversees a chemical given to a number of animals to determine what amount is able to kill more than half of the all population of the animals. Another method is the FDA, which is a technique that provides credible information on how humans can be widely affected by new drugs (Food and Drug Administration 77). Despite the many negative effects of animal experiments mentioned above, the proponents of this method argue that there have been very

The equality the government claimed to spread was all a faГ§ade; the system benefited those in power and the United States while the popular class was so poor they struggled to make ends meet. People created groups to combat the obvious tyranny, such as El Partido Independiente de Color which formed together to stop the racism. Others spoke out in poetry or publications or used their position in court to express the pain and need for a revolution. These factors were a key part of why so many fought for change, so they could right the wrongs that had been done to them for so long. The faГ§ade of equality that the government put forth affected those of race and those of the popular, poorer class. The theme of personal legends is evident in our lives, however societal standards cause us to believe our dreams are unrealistic or too far fetched. Although Einstein is accredited to be one of the smartest men that ever lived, he didn t learn to speak until the age of four. Consequently, his parents and teachers thought he was mentally impaired. • 37. Taking a Look at Nuclear Energy What comes to your mind when you think of nuclear energy? Most people think of nuclear bombs. However, nuclear energy can be used for so much more than bombs. In fact, if nuclear power did not exist, we would not exist! This is because the sun generates it energy from nuclear reactions of hydrogen nuclei into helium. Also, nuclear powercould be the next solution for cheap energy for people and the radiation it gives off could even rid someone of cancer. What is nuclear power? (Sec. 1.1) To state it directly, nuclear power is the use of nuclear processes to create heat and energy. This energy that comes from exothermic nuclear processes can be converted into radiation or power. There are two ways to produce nuclear power by fission or fusion. Fission is splitting atoms of a radioactive element such as a uranium isotope. The radioactive elements used for fission can be found in the actinide section of the periodic table (Figure 1 below ↓). Fusion is the process of joining isotopes of hydrogen (which is exactly what the sun does). How is nuclear power created? (Sec. 1.2) Fission (Sec. 1.2.1) The energy that is used for heat or electricity comes from a nuclear power plant. In a nutshell, the energy comes from the reaction of uranium atoms splitting and giving off energy. The uranium atom is spilt in half by protons. To cool down this reaction, CO2 or water is pumped throughout the reactor. The cooling down makes steam, and this steam drives a generator that creates

Some scholars argue that the internet provides numerous sources of information thus enhancing our understanding of issues and tempering our views. This paper tries to explore if polarization is a consequence of informed deliberation or just a result of group dynamics. Polarization in this context refers to the phenomenon where members of a deliberating group predictably move toward a more extreme point in the direction indicated by the members pre deliberation tendencies (Sunstein, 2002).
