This document discusses using open source computer vision (CV) for projects. It describes how the author used CV on a Raspberry Pi with a Pi camera for tasks like detecting car high/low beams, detecting and identifying car brands and positions, and detecting traffic signs. The author explains how they used ffmpeg to grab video frames and ImageMagick to convert them to grayscale without Google's help. OpenCV and JeVois are introduced as open source CV libraries that can be used for tasks like object detection, face recognition, and detecting predefined shapes.
