NEW IMPROVED 2D SVD BASED ALGORITHM FOR VIDEO CODINGcscpconf
Video compression is one of the most important blocks of an image acquisition system.
Compression of video results in reduction of transmission bandwidth. In real time video
compression the incoming video data is directly compressed without being stored first.
Therefore real time video compression system operates under stringent timing constraints.
Current video compression standards like MPEG, H.26x series, involve emotion estimation and
compensation blocks which are highly computationally expensive and hence they are not
suitable for real time applications on resource scarce systems. Current applications like video
calling, video conferencing require low complexity video compression algorithms so that they
can be implemented in environments that have scarce computational resources (like mobile
phones). A low complexity video compression algorithm based on 2D SVD exists. In this paper, a modification to that algorithm which provides higher PSNR at the same bit rate is presented.
Patch-Based Image Learned Codec using Overlappingsipij
End-to-end learned image and video codecs, based on auto-encoder architecture, adapt naturally to image resolution, thanks to their convolutional aspect. However, while coding high resolution images, these codecs face hardware problems such as memory saturation. This paper proposes a patch-based image coding solution based on an end-to-end learned model, which aims to remedy to the hardware limitation while maintaining the same quality as full resolution image coding. Our method consists in coding overlapping patches of the image and reconstructing them into a decoded image using a weighting function. This approach manages to be on par with the performance of full resolution image coding using an endto-end learned model, and even slightly outperforms it, while being adaptable to different memory sizes. Moreover, this work undertakes a full study on the effect of the patch size on this solution’s performance, and consequently determines the best patch resolution in terms of coding time and coding efficiency. Finally, the method introduced in this work is also compatible with any learned codec based
on a conv/deconvolutional autoencoder architecture without having to retrain the model.
A Novel Image Compression Approach Inexact Computingijtsrd
This work proposes a novel approach for digital image processing that relies on faulty computation to address some of the issues with discrete cosine transformation DCT compression. The proposed system has three processing stages the first employs approximated DCT for picture compression to eliminate all compute demanding floating point multiplication and to execute DCT processing with integer additions and, in certain cases, logical right left modifications. The second level reduces the amount of data that must be processed from the first level by removing frequencies that cannot be perceived by human senses. Finally, in order to reduce power consumption and delay, the third stage employs erroneous circuit level adders for DCT computation. A collection of structured pictures is compressed for measurement using the suggested three level method. Various figures of merit such as energy consumption, delay, power signal to noise ratio, average difference, and absolute maximum difference are compared to current compression techniques an error analysis is also carried out to substantiate the simulation findings. The results indicate significant gains in energy and time reduction while retaining acceptable accuracy levels for image processing applications. Robust Video Watermarking Scheme Based on Intra-Coding Process in MPEG-2 Style IJECEIAES
The proposed scheme implemented a semi blind digital watermarking method for video exploiting MPEG-2 standard. The watermark is inserted into selected high frequency coefficients of plain types of discrete cosine transform blocks instead of edge and texture blocks during intra coding process. The selection is essential because the error in such type of blocks is less sensitive to human eyes as compared to other categories of blocks. Therefore, the perceptibility of watermarked video does not degraded sharply. Visual quality is also maintained as motion vectors used for generating the motion compensated images are untouched during the entire watermarking process. Experimental results revealed that the scheme is not only robust to re-compression attack, spatial synchronization attacks like cropping, rotation but also strong to temporal synchronization attacks like frame inserting, deleting, swapping and averaging. The superiority of the anticipated method is obtaining the best sturdiness results contrast to the recently delivered schemes.
Improved Error Detection and Data Recovery Architecture for Motion Estimation...IJERA Editor
Given the critical role of motion estimation (ME) in a video coder, testing such a module is of priority concern. While focusing on the testing of ME in a video coding system, this work presents an error detection and data recovery (EDDR) design, based on the proposed residue-and-quotient (RQ) code, to embed into ME for video coding testing applications. An error in processing elements (PEs), i.e. key components of a ME, can be detected and recovered effectively by using the proposed EDDR design. Experimental results indicate that the proposed EDDR design for ME testing can detect errors and recover data with an acceptable area overhead and timing penalty. Importantly, the proposed EDDR design performs satisfactorily in terms of throughput and reliability for ME testing applications.

AN OPTIMIZED BLOCK ESTIMATION BASED IMAGE COMPRESSION AND DECOMPRESSION ALGOR...IAEME Publication
In this paper, we implemented a new model of image compression and decompression method to search the aimed image based on the robust image block variance estimation. Many methods of image compression have been proposed in the literature to minimize the error rate and compression ratio. For encoding the medium type of images, traditional models use hierarchical scheme that enables the use of upper, left, and lower pixels for the pixel prediction, whereas the conventional raster scan prediction methods use upper and left pixels. In this proposed work, we have implemented block estimation and image distortion rate to optimize the compression ration and to minimize the error rate. Experimental results show that proposed model gives a high compression rate and less rate compared to traditional models.
Tile Boundary Artifacts Reduction of JPEG2000 Compressed Images cscpconf
This paper proposes a post-processing technique for reducing tile boundary artifacts which
occur in an image when it is compressed at low bit rate using JPEG2000 standard. Symmetric
extension and difference in quantization accuracy between the tiles of the image are the main
factors behind the tile boundary artifacts in JPEG2000 compressed images. In this paper, wehave analyzed the effect of quantization on the region of the tile boundaries of JPEG2000 compressed images. The analysis confirms that tiling artifacts are reduced by updating the high pass reconstructed samples lying on the boundary of the image tiles where the artifacts occur. The post-processing is applied on the output of JPEG2000 coding system and thus it can easilybe blended with JPEG2000 standard.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Low power architecture of logic gates using adiabatic techniquesnooriasukmaningtyas
The growing significance of portable systems to limit power consumption in ultra-large-scale-integration chips of very high density, has recently led to rapid and inventive progresses in low-power design. The most effective technique is adiabatic logic circuit design in energy-efficient hardware. This paper presents two adiabatic approaches for the design of low power circuits, modified positive feedback adiabatic logic (modified PFAL) and the other is direct current diode based positive feedback adiabatic logic (DC-DB PFAL). Logic gates are the preliminary components in any digital circuit design. By improving the performance of basic gates, one can improvise the whole system performance. In this paper proposed circuit design of the low power architecture of OR/NOR, AND/NAND, and XOR/XNOR gates are presented using the said approaches and their results are analyzed for powerdissipation, delay, power-delay-product and rise time and compared with the other adiabatic techniques along with the conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) designs reported in the literature. It has been found that the designs with DC-DB PFAL technique outperform with the percentage improvement of 65% for NOR gate and 7% for NAND gate and 34% for XNOR gate over the modified PFAL techniques at 10 MHz respectively.

The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

Compressed-Domain Video Retargeting
Abstract—In this paper, we present a compressed-domain video retargeting solution that
operates without compromising the resizing quality. Existing video retargeting methods operate
in the spatial (or pixel) domain. Such a solution is not practical if it is implemented in mobile
devices due to its large memory requirement. In the proposed solution, each component of the
retargeting system is designed to exploit the low- level compressed domain features extracted
from the coded bit stream. For example, motion information is obtained directly from motion
vectors. An efficient column shape mesh deformation is employed to solve the difficulty of
sophisticated quad-shape mesh deformation in the compressed domain. The proposed solution
achieves comparable (or slightly better) visual quality performance as compared with several
state-of-the-art pixel-domain retargeting methods at lower computational and memory costs,
making content-aware video resizing both scalable and practical in real-world applications.
Existing method:
existing warping-based approaches often adopt quad-shape mesh deformation.
However, such geometrical modification is difficult to perform in the compressed
domain. To overcome this limitation, we develop a novel column mesh
deformation that is compatible with compressed domain operations without
compromising the quality of resizing results.
Proposed method:
The proposed system consists of three separate stages
1) the partial decoding stage;
2) the compressed domain video resizing stage; and
2. 3) the re-encoding stage.
In the partial decoding stage, we decode the video bitstream partially to reconstruct
the non-inverse-quantized DCT coefficients of each frame. In the resizing stage,
we perform video analysis and content-aware resizing directly based on
compressed domain features and operations. The output of the resized image is re-encoded
to be the output bitstream in the last stage.
Merits:
1. Motion detector should not accurate in pervious methods.
Demerits:
1. To detect our proposed scheme motion vectors by using DCT coefficients of each
frame.

and the road-lines of the roadski sequence.
