Compact spinning is a novel concept generated through re-engineering of established ring spinning process by attaching a pneumatic zone to existing ring spinning machine. Compact spinning achieves a remarkable improvement in yarn quality and yarn structure through better utilization of fibre properties. In the spun laid process, polymers are extruded through spinnerets to form fine filaments, which are then deposited randomly onto a conveyor belt and bonded. The melt blown process extrudes polymers through a die containing many small holes, and high-velocity air streams attenuate the extruded fibers to form very fine fibers that are deposited onto a collector. Mechanical treatments like heat setting, singeing, raising, and calendering are used to improve the stability, filtration efficiency, moisture and chemical resistance of filtration fabrics. Heat setting involves applying heat to consolidate fibers and increase fabric density for improved stability. Singeing removes protruding fibers to prevent dust clinging and aid cake release, while raising creates a fibrous surface to enhance dust collection. These mechanical processes prepare filtration fabrics for their intended use.

Natural antimicrobial agents and behaviour on face masks
The increasing prevalence of infectious diseases in recent decades has posed a serious threat to public health. Routes of transmission differ, but the respiratory droplet or airborne route has the greatest potential to disrupt social intercourse, wearing face masks can reduce disease transmission. However, excessive use of single-use polymer-based face masks will pose a significant challenge to the environment. On the contrary, face masks with inherent antimicrobial properties can help in real-time deactivation of microorganisms enabling multiple-use and reduces secondary infections. Therefore, research on environment-friendly antimicrobial agents (AMA) based on natural products is gaining worldwide interest.
In this study, several research papers have been reviewed consisting of antimicrobial compounds, which are extracted from medicinal plants and found to be effective against bacteria when applied on face mask or have potential of being applied. Study, also includes different method of these AMA application and testing procedures.
DEVELOPMENT OF UV PROTECTIVE CELLULOSE BASED CLOTHING using GRAPHENE OXIDE
This document presents a project on developing UV protective cellulose-based clothing using graphene oxide. The project aims to prepare graphene yarn/fabric comprising reduced graphene oxide and natural cellulose, and check its response to ultraviolet radiations. Graphene oxide will be incorporated into cellulose through dip coating or chemical reduction to impart UV protection. Previous studies have shown graphene oxide can form a barrier to UV light and improve cellulose's UV shielding abilities when combined. The work plan involves producing graphene oxide flakes using the Hummers method and incorporating it into cellulose under varying parameters to develop a UV protective textile.

The fixed suction system under the perforated drum creates vacuum, which generates air current on drum. This air current helps to condense the fibre strand.
