According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes mellitusis a group of metabolic diseases
characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both.
The chronic hyperglycemia associated with diabetes results in failure of various organs including
eyes, kidneys, heart, and blood vessels (American Diabetes Association, 2016). Possible
complications of diabetes include heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, leg amputation, vision loss,
nerve damage, and premature death (World Health Organization, 2016).
The databases for the Centers for Disease Control and Protection, World Health Organization,
National Institute of Health, National Vital Statistics Survey, and Kentucky Data Warehouse and
Kentucky Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System were reviewed for datasets and information
for diabetes mellitus.
Globally, an estimated 422 million adults were living with diabetes in 2014. The prevalence of
diabetes has nearly doubled since 1980, rising from 4.7% to 8.5% in adult population. In the past
ten years, diabetes prevalence has risen faster in low and middle income countries in comparison to
high income countries. Diabetes is responsible for 1.5 million deaths in 2012 (World Health
Organization, 2016).

During the Renaissance, a religious view of the world made a huge impact on art. The biblical
character David became an emerging popular subject among artists. Although David s story is
quite simple, artists faced challenges creating a visual representation of the young hero. The two
main obstacles were discovering how to portray the body committing the act, and also rendering the
spirit of the act itself. Among the artists who tried to recreate this story visually were Andrea del

there are dominant and subordinate groups and there exists inequality in both these groups.
There are three different arrangement of hierarchy in all developed economies on the basis of
age, gender and subjective reasons such as ethnic group, race, rank, belief and faith. There are
five key determinants of this theory. To start with, governing groups possess dominance over
other minor groups. Also societal background greatly impacts these groups. It is more prevalent in
males than females and is affected by traits of people and socialization happenings. We further

demonstrates the ideology that soul and consciousnessare not uniquely for humans. The main
