Data plays an important role in any research or study conducted. It aids in bringing about a breakthrough in the respective field as well as for future researches. The collection of data is carried out in two forms viz: Qualitative Data and Quantitative Data which includes further bifurcation under it.
What is Qualitative Data?
Qualitative research can be defined as the method of research which focuses on gaining relevant information through observational, open-ended and communication method. They are more exploratory which concentrates on gaining insights about the situation and dig a bit deeper to find the underlying reason. The central idea behind using this method is to find the answer to Why and How rather than How many. Data gathered during a qualitative research is what is termed as qualitative data.
What is the purpose?
A qualitative data is non-numerical and more textual which comprises mostly of images, written texts, recorded audios and spoken words by people. Moreover, one can conduct qualitative research online as well as offline too. Apart from this, the varied purpose of qualitative research is as follows:
- To examine the purpose or reason for the situation
- Gain an understanding of the experience of people
- Understanding of relations and meaning
- Varied norms including social and political as well as contextual and cultural practice which impact the cause.
What is Qualitative and quantitative research?
Methods of qualitative research and pros and cons of qualitative research and the characteristics of qualitative research.

Steps for Preparing Research Methodology - PhdassistancePhD Assistance
In general, research methodology refers to a systematic way of solving a research problem and it is the process of studding how a research is carried out systematically (Snyder, 2019). In the research, methodology is often noted to be an important section as it is can impress the readers most efficiently. The success and overall consistency of the study will be determined by the methodology chosen for the research.
Research methodology is often written using a model or structure that helps readers understand the process. The following steps will exemplify how can a research methodology prepared to make the reader more interesting

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. Qualitative
Research
Qualitative research is defined as a market research
method that focuses on obtaining data through
open-ended and conversational communication.
Qualitative research involves collecting and
analyzing non-numerical data (e.g., text, video, or
audio) to understand concepts, opinions, or
experiences. It can be used to gather in-depth
insights into a problem or generate new ideas for
research.
2
3. WHAT IS DATA COLLECTION IS
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH?
Qualitative data collection is usually unstructured and
data is collected for non-numerical analysis. Usually, the
methods of data collection all the strategies of qualitative
inquiry–ethnography, phenomenological, grounded
theory, narrative and case studies-are similar.
the researcher is taking and whatever the data collection
method (e.g., focus group, one-to-one interviews), the
process will involve the generation of large amounts of
data.
3
4. STEPS TO COLLECT DATA IN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH :
● Identify the locations or individual who was deliberately
selected.
● The data collection strategy carried out includes:
○ Observation
○ Interviews
○ Documentation
○ Audio visual material.

5. WHAT IS DATA ANALYZE IN
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH?
Data analysis in qualitative research is defined
as the process of systematically searching and
arranging the interview transcripts, observation
notes, or other non-textual materials that the
researcher accumulates to increase the
understanding of the phenomenon
6. 5 STEPS TO ANALYZE DATA
QUALITATIVE :
Step 1: Arrange your Data
Step 2: Organize all your Data
Step 3: Set a Code to the Data Collected
Step 4: Validate your Data
Step 5: Concluding the Analysis Process
6
7. WHAT IS DATA
INTERPRETATION?
Data interpretation refers to the implementation of
processes through which data is reviewed for the purpose of
arriving at an informed conclusion. The interpretation of
data assigns a meaning to the information analyzed and
determines its signification and implications
7
8. Qualitative data analysis can be summed up in
one word – categorical. With qualitative
analysis, data is not described through
numerical values or patterns, but through the
use of descriptive context (i.e., text). Typically,
narrative data is gathered by employing a
wide variety of person-to-person techniques.
QUALITATIVE DATA INTERPRETATION

9. These techniques include:
Observations:
detailing behavioral patterns that occur within an observation group.
These patterns could be the amount of time spent in an activity, the
type of activity and the method of communication employed
Documents: much like how patterns of behavior can be observed,
different types of documentation resources can be coded and divided
based on the type of material they contain.
Interviews: one of the best collection methods for narrative data.
Enquiry responses can be grouped by theme, topic or category. The
interview approach allows for highly-focused data segmentation
